Hi.
My wizard locks up as it loads the today screen after a soft reset
I sometimes have to soft reset it 10 - 20 times before i get a working today screen. I think it's due to applications that are on there starting all at the same time.
It gets really annoying sometimes when i cannot use my phone for 10 minutes or more.
I've got a mixture of applications starting including phm traylaunch, Resco today plugin, the tomtom today launcher, the radio display plugin and a few others off and on
Have disabled them one by one and nothing seems to help reliably.
once the today screen starts properly, the phone works perfectly until the next soft reset.
Does anyone have a solution for this ?

I've had a strange problem with my BA (SX66) with both the WM5 and WM6 ROMs.
After about a weeks usage and when browsing the Web using WIFI, the WIFI icon at the top of the screen flashes and then my screen goes black. If I try to reboot, it sticks on the Green Windows Mobile screen.
I have to clear the hive, and reboot losing all my data.
Has anyone else had this problem? I don't know if this is a hardware or software problem.
well here i have the same problem but mine is battery related (i think)

My first thought was that it was battery related. However, I think it happened to me once on a nearly full charge. I did the No, Yes, Yes hard reset and will test it once again.
I wish HTC would make a Blue Angle II with 3G.
I cold booted my BA and didn't add the HTC Home cab. It appears that the HTC Home cab was causing the problem. I ran the phone for several weeks without HTC Home and I haven't had a problem with it locking up.
Now I'm trying Helmi's ROM with Explodes HTC Home.

I had this problem b4 when it stuck in the green windows mobile screen. I thought it was backup software issue, but then realise that a lot of people had this issue with different circumsatances...
the only solution worked for me was to clear the hive and restore backup data. Some people suggested in the forum somewhere (I forgot which one) that you have to go to bootloader screen, and then reset... or keep reseting until it works (i think some dude did it 18 times and finally worked )
It happened to me about 5 times on helmi's rom.
since i moved on to minhanh's rom, never had this issue anymore, but i still keep doing a lot of backups, just in case it happens again.
Now, I am waiting for Xplode's new up and coming rom and hopefully this issue will never occur again
Can someone help me... I installed the Helmi wm6 Rom and did not let sprint customization run. The device works fine for several days then it will freeze and i have to do a soft reset. Problem is that after the soft reset i only get to the wm splash screen. i wind up doing a hard reset to recover. I use spd back up to restore my files but its becoming a pain. Is this a known bug? Is there another rom release i should be using instead. The slideout keyboard also seems to have a bug when using to type a document. there is a 1-2 second lag in pressing of keys and letters appearing on screen.
In my experience I have noticed that when active sync is still running on my apache, (or it has only been unplugged from my pc for a few minutes,) and I soft reset or change the battery, it will lock up and only a hard reset will fix it. go to settings> system> memory> running programs and stop active sync before a soft reset. seems to work for me
I used helmi's stock WM6 rom when it first came out, and I was plagued with the green screen hang. I've been using rob mayer's WM6 ROMs for months and no hangs. Go get it:

I have a trinity and until Friday loved it. Suddenly it has started to automatically reboot itself every 2 minutes or so.
I have loaded NO new software or changed any settings for months. But reviewing the drop menu I see 2 SPB software icons have now gone blank. SPB Traveller and SPBWallet. I assume it is a software problem even though have worked fine for 8 months.
I have deleted the software but still have problem. I also still have the two blank icons on menu.
Tried a Hard Reset but cannot reset. Tried a soft reset but will not action the reset button.
Absolutely frustrated as it just loops and even the old Hard Reset is not working. Anyone had similar or heard of a way to fix?

Im having a similar problem with my spv m700 most of the time phone works fine then just reboots for no apparent reason (phone does it even when sat in car holder so cant accidently press a button). sometimes just does it the once other times it reboots 5 or 6 times and others it reboots a couple of times then crashes at the orange screen and has to be reset. mainly seems to do it while running tomtom but that could just be because it runs that most of the time anyway hasnt done it while making a call yet.

Do you use bluetoth head set?
Is the software (spb) intaled on main memory or storage card?
no i dont use bluetooth and the software is installed in main memory
left tomtom off today and phone still reboots? so dont think its a tomtom problem also doesnt matter if the phone is pluged in or not still the same

I am only doing a soft reset after a scheduled backup with Spb. In two months, I had only 2 or three crashes with my HD2.

Well I had an HTC touch cruise with the official HTC 6.1 wm rom and only did a soft reset, once every 5 months or something. I just bought the HD2 recently, but I don't think to do a soft reset often (depends on the apps that I install though).
unfortunatelly i am not very lucky, i have mapped the volume keys in coreplayer but once i exit the player, the buttons do not function as to increase and decrease the volume so anyway i have to reset at least once a day to be able to use the volume buttons
Not a single crash here. I only soft reset my HTC HD2 after a programm installation or some maintenance operation when im tinkering with it.

Have to soft-reset several times a day thanks to the buggy volume fuction (disapearing volume overlay in HTC Album and Music) for no reason (or after using CorePlayeror even Youtube app) and because of TouchGL function (pinch-zoom) no longer working in native WM apps (in File Explorer etc) for no god damn reason either. Same on all roms 1.44/148/1.61...

seems like we have the same problem...pitty otherwise no need to soft reset

Only when requested by an installation. I could go on for a week or more without a soft reset.
i only do a soft reset if this is neded after installing new software
i have not used softreset so far except after software install which require softreset of course.
Because of a crash.......... only maybe 3 times in 2 months.
I softreset 2-3 times a day, because sometimes the sms messages wont send before i softreset and try to send another message
interesting thought, maybe we can have a poll at the beginning of this thread
once or twice a day, and i usually open the cover every two days. But i do abuse it a lot, so its kinda my fault
This is my 4th HTC phone in 2 years and I have routinely turned them off every nite (equivalent to a soft reset), plugged them into the charger to get a full charge the next morning. Never had any battery problems. A daily reset is good for the device; no harm done anyway!
I reset whenever an installs requires it.
And then the worst part...when the SIP-icon-overlay dissapears (the little icon showing the diffrent keyboards)
Anyone who knows how to fix this?? I cannot seem to find out if it's an installed app, that causes this or not /
Mine is crashed many times.
mine crashes at least once a day. most was 3 times a day i think.. barely had the phone for 3 weeks too.
its by far the worst WinMo phone i've bought. i really hope they put out a proper ROM soon.
I don't experience problems with my HD2, except 1 time when I tried to install something and it didn't succeed.
anyway I must say that I switch off my device during the night, better battery life...
I'm happy with my HD2,
have it since availability of the device, 1x time it was frozen I remeber.
For one week now I installed ROM 1.48 and hope it still will go on working flawless;-)
