UI Tweaker v0.5.4.3 - freeware to tweak theme and system colours - P3600 General

UI Tweaker v0.5.4.3
I found this freeware and originally downloaded it just to get black title bars on themes that came with grey ones. But, it turns out that you can use it to tweak virtually all colour settings on your device.

If you've never seen it and like changing theme and system colours, i reckon this piece of free kit is worth your investigating. (Alternatively, flash a Manila 2D ROM and use mpenguin's M2DC customiser!)

ppc tweaker?
You may look at Vicott Wong's web site for ppc small programs in
http://mobile-sg.com/software/?platform=ppc

Hey folks - BIG THANKS. IUtweaker is exactly what I needed for my minimalist theme.
I was able to change the softkey background very easily with this to white.
Regards, David

I downloaded this app a few days ago and it works really nicely.
One question though is how do I change the background color of my phone contacts and emails?
Somehow I changed the color from white to a grey and white horizontal stripe background. I want to change it back to white.
Hard to figure out what all the descriptions are.
In syscolorchange, I changed "selected item color" which is when I choose a contact or email , the background is blue which is fine.
I want to change the color of the items I don't select.
I don't know what the unselected items are called.

still working (at least SysColor utility) on wm 6.5.5

How to change font color on the desktop and menu?

I came across the issue after ROM upgrade to T-mobile 1.60 (used to be O2 Asia 1.03). T-Mobile has nice gray background theme (default one), but when I tried to switch to some other theme (through settings->today) and back, all letters on the menu turned white and almost invisible on light gray background. Anyone knows where should I look for font colors in the registry (or maybe there is a Theme editor or something)?
There is a theme generator on Microsoft's Pocket PC page. This not only allows you to create your own themes from Jpegs, but it allows you to modify the colour ov virtually everything on your today screen, including font colour.

Hope that helps
sounds like something

How to change to Black Background / White font in ALL windows??

Hi everyone
I currently use mostly BLACK look:
- slide2unlock2 with black bakground
- all black Today theme (bars & background)
- Black phone dialpad
- Also many other new good programs (with scroll function) have black bakgrounds too:
- iContact 0.3
- OtO 0.45b..etc
- gCalc (calculator)
I like this darker sharp look alot (iPhonish style)
& i was wondering if its possible to tweak the "original" WM6 windows like:
- programs
- settings
- Contacts
- messaging & mail (including outlook)
- Mobile word & excel
to have dark black background (or dark grey?) & pure white font ??
Again, to be clear, I am NOT talking about Today themes or bars....
I do not know if this maybe as simple as finding a registry key? or difficuly as doing each window indivitually?
I hope we can get some help from our programers here
Thank you
Any ideas?
any ideas at all?
such a disappointment tha no one responded.....
Maybe UI Tweaker does this?
Certainly remember being able to change System Colours in the menus.

Full Theme Changer For Windows Mobile 6?

Is it possible to make a full theme change for windows mobile 6? I mean not like Wisbar Apps or any other type that is similar to it. I mean changing the colors, backgrounds of the phone and any other winmo6 embedded software.
Here is an example of want i want it to do. lets say that you are changing the theme of your winmo6 to blue but you want to keep the same look and feel to it with out install a cab to change the phone the blue color in stead when you change the color to blue it will change everything on your device blue too.
thanks
Its already been done. Search on here for Shantz changer.

it does not change the phone color just the today screen
There's two applications I know of - both change various aspects of your colour schemes; one is "RC Mod" (get it here) and the other is called "UI Tweaker" (from here).
Have a look, see what you think

first link is uesless, it's in italian for the most part. And UI Tweaker just changes colors, not the dial pad.
Unless someone comes out with an app that lauches the color changes as well as a cab install for the phone dialer, there isn't a current app to do this. This is one of the drawbacks I have hate about WM. It was never designed to do whole system color coding, you can change the theme which does change system colors, but there is still a lot of white coloring thru out the OS and the dial pads, keyboards, etc never change color with the theme.

I must have misunderstoof the first post incorrectly then, but I didn't see the OP ask about changing the dialer.....all of the colours on the dialer are images anyway, so it makes no difference what colour the rest of the UI gets changed to...
The first link is useless coz the attached images are dead links and the post is mostly in Italian because the author is, like, Italian....you obviously stopped reading after the first couple of words
I agree that WM 6.0 lacks any decent "UI tweaking" capabilities - hopefully MS will address that deficiency in 6.1, or 7.0, or 8.0, or........maybe not
Mark.
Since the dialer, theme and everything else is controlled by images and registry edits I believe you just have to delve in with Mortscript and learn how to script it yourself. Mortscript will then batch process it in the same way you can do it yourself manually. But once you do it'll be pretty sweet. You can have a iPhone script, a Touch script, etc. for one click overall theme change. Its just getting familiarized with Mortscript and digging into dialpad CABs to see what registry/files need to be modified/copied. Heck if you are going that route you might as well see if its possible to manually copy over some of the welcome screens as well. =P
Just curious, do you honestly switch your entire phone theme that often? And need the phone pad/dialer to be changed as well? Have you even tried installing a dialpad CAB, then another one on top of it, then another one on top of that one...just to see if it creates any corruption?
Shantz is great cause it does exactly what it needs to do on changing the theme or background and he even has an option to allow you to run an external program (mortscript) so that it can copy the background onto other programs such as S2U2 and WAD (and in the future...possibly PointUI Home background).
So if you are willing to give up on the idea of installing a dialpad CAB (perhaps install a neutral gray or black one), the task will be a lot easier with Shantz and a little bit of Mortscript coding.

This software is not to change colors, but it has a theme modifier feature that changes the color of that ugly scroll bar on right today screen, and the default buttons etc. Very fun! There is a trial version on website.
TEST IT
Have a look at this program:
http://www.codeppc.com/telechargements/themegence/themegence.htm
it can create new themes or modify an existing one (you can copy the existing one from your windows directory)....

[THEME] Full Color Focus cabs, includes Landscape focus, now with pink, light blue...

I have downloaded some of the focus color change files from XDA and found that they were very incomplete, missing many of the other 'green' elements in vanilla black manila, so I made a new one, which includes the focus elements for the landscape icons too. It also has a reg edit to change the enlarged start menu and task manager highlights to gray.
I could make other colors on request.
EDIT the communications menu is NOT orange if you use this with stock HTC black theme (but for some reason on the Alltel theme I tested it with it was), I did not check this, I guess the manila file names on Fuze manila comm menu are different. I did catch little things like the audio progress bar etc, but I will update soon to fix the Comm menu, with new colors too...
EDIT 2 HELP REQUESTED. I check the manila files I changed and all the correct ones for the comm manager are there, yet it is still stuck on green, at least with the Wildberry Manila landscape cab that I used..any of the more experienced people care to help me figure out why this is
EDIT 3 I figured it out I think - I am running a custom comm manager from my Juicy CDMA rom - so I have included those files in a revised version that is now 100% all green graphics to orange
EDIT 4 I have also added an optional orange tab cab file for the lower scrolling icon area - personal preference if you like this.
EDIT 5 I have fixed the transparency issues on the opera focus so it looks better, not shown in pictures below
EDIT 6 ORANGE CAB IS BUGGED - OPERA HIGHLIGHT IS PINK - Fix coming - and text is missing below opera globe on all colors
EDIT 7 - Text below opera globe is restored and install names bugs of cabs, shade of orange for opera focus are fixed. New files to be posted later tonight (dec 23 08). Red and Charcoal to follow soon.
ADDITIONAL COLORS CAN BE FOUND IN MY ADDITIONAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD
Good job man
Do you have any screens?
Is it for all the green focus elements like call screen, comm manager, settings tab, usb popup screen ?
If so, then it will be nice
i am new to this - so how I capture screens I have to figure out, but yes it does everything that is green in orange - though it is possible I missed something
also any help with the reg settings to get the highlights in the start menu and dialer to go orange through reg settings would be nice - when ever I tried the hex code for orange in the registry the start menu highlight ended up going dark blue
Hmm nice color, it will look nice on black!
I cannot help you with reg settings though.
I will follow this post to see the progress you're making to get it all orange.
Good luck!

Now that I have finalized the Orange version other colors will be forthcoming
Updated files in first post
I took the liberty of doing the all blue one. Let me know if there are any problems.
Thanks !
but the comm manager, audio manager, dialer etc do not use the manila files for the focus colors - they are separate PNGs in the windows folder, or registry edits
Mew request in Red!!

Can you make it in RED???
THANKs
I do not have Diamond .
Could you make 4 GREEN color ??
Light Pink
Here is my next color - a very light pink...really on suitable for TF3D themes with a dark font (ie doesn't work too well on my stock HTC black theme)
Again there is separate cab for a pink lower curtain icon tab (NOT SHOWN IN IMAGES BELOW), if you would like that too.
BTW the comm and audio manager focus files are not 'manila' files - they are simply png's in your windows folder on the device, so just changing the manila files doesn't change everything. Here are the file names that you need to edit

Also these files will not change the focus in HTC apps like the camera etc - that is something I will work on eventually.
Note there is no image for opera focus, but bug with no text below globe in v1 light pink cab is fixed, and focus is pink as per the rest of the highlights
Light Blue
As above, Light Blue focus, with separate cab for lower curtain icon tab.
as above bug of no text below opera focus is fixed in v2 file, and name in add remove programs is now correctly saying light blue
Can you please make a black one?

vote for that.
but why not make an app so we can choose differnt colors ?
I am afraid I have absolutely no ability to code....
If some one was to write an app for me that would use the manila files I made - it could be packaged with all the color files I make - perhaps something like TF3d config for colors only - but if they app was to on the fly change the colors that means all the files needed for each color would have to be locally stored on your device, taking up needless space
in the current orange focus cab, the highlight for launch browser is pink not orange on the internet touchflo3d tab. Also, the words "Launch Browser" disappear when you install the cab.
EDIT:
In theory you could have a program that changes the hex values of the each individual pixel in a basic grayscale image by adding XX XX XX to each RGB value for each and have an infinite number of colours.
ackkk ! Thanks for the bug report
I guess I mixed up the pink and orange opera focus files...and I didn't notice the launch browser part until now...I will have to figure out what I did to remove that

Any way to change font colour on Home Screen?

Are there any tweaks to change the colour of the font displaying Missed Calls/Calendar/Date/Alarm etc on the Home Screen (or even better, to have an opaque box behind the text)?
I have some nice photos I want to use as backgrounds, but they are mostly white so I cant see any text!
Cheers,
Doc
same for me... i wanna use a more lighter background picture. But with the white letters its not really useful.

could you please tell me if this tool works for you and your HD? I want to change my home screen font color too but i still didn`t found a way...
Thanks,
Brad
I've look also for the exactly same thing and I've reached to the following conclusion: you can't do anything about it.
I've tried tons of programs, registry editing, hexa editing etc. Spend days on the issue. Nada, nothing. I even some some experienced users saying that it can be changed almost any colors on tabs, exept the ones above.
LE: I think the most closest possibility for us to obtain this effect is to manually edit the wallpaper and place some dark boxes where the text is written, but this means that the dark boxes will apear on every other tab also.
hello...I have tried this UItweaker on my touch hd...
I tried the one to change the today screen font color...
and spinning wheel of death occured...
so I killed the UITweaker but the font color indeed changed
I soft reseted and changed it back - again spinning wheel of death - and after having back to nromal I removed it because it seems like not the program I want to my mess my phone...since it seems the device does not like it....
and anyway..i think that after having this program my google mpas started to be stupid - I dont know if it really is because of this - but now the google maps show My Location as a venezuela...that is not true, I am in middle europe...WTF I want it work again normally...
this sucks
so if you want try it, it changes the color, but it is not working flawleslly and I hate that...
The UI Tweaker only messed up my other colors, but doesen't changed the color I wanted.
Take care using it.
I also had issues with UI Tweaker, I somehow changed the background of the buttons on the home page (Phone, Programs, x button etc) to pink and couldnt change it back!
I remember seeing a Russian Rom that had black text on the home screen, so I do think its possible.
My workaround for the moment is to edit the background pic and draw an opaque box where the info is displayed.
I think it looks quite cool! It does take a bit of messing around (trial and error) to get it in the right place, and I still have to add a few more (date/alarm)... work is quite busy atm so I dont really have the time!
If I do find another way, I will post it here.
As I said, the only problem for this workaround is that in all other tabs, the background will apear with the boxes from the HOME tab.
I wonder if it is a way of having different wallpapers for each tab.
Must search that.
LE: Found that: Change wallpapers. It gives a solution how to have a different background picture for the rest of the tabs.
so simple
go to settings > home screne > scroll to color scheme & select > scroll to : text: black" then select done
