Question regarding InvisibleShield... - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Accessories

Hello,
I have gone through the thread discussing InvisibleShield, BodyGuardz, etc... but couldn't find answer to my question. I have ordered the InvisibleShield for my AT&T Tilt. Does it really com-off clean i.e. leaves no residue, or doesn't pull-off paint (logo etc) of the Phone when removed ? I am asking because its the first product I'd be using that requires an adhesive (the solution spray) to apply. I am just worried that when I try to remove it, it should come-off clean as it was never there... Can someone who has experience wrt this answer ?
I apologize if this has been discussed before...
Thanks
-Nitin

The solution is soapy. It's like putting on window tint. It comes off perfectly. I had to send a phone back and removed it.

Thanks a bunch !
Thats great... I can use it without worries then.

Can anyone tell me what this is?????

Hi There,
Im in the process of changing the LCD screen on my jam, and during the removal of the housing, a little black thing fell out. I have no idea what it is and where it needs to go.
I have attached a photo of it hoping someone knows what it is and where it needs to go.
Thanks.
Does it look like something that broke off? Eg. With sharp egdes. If thats the case, chances that you won't be able to fix it back in.
Anyway, it looks too small to be an individual 'component'.
I thought it was normal to end up with more bits when you put something back together.... :$
No, Its a whole part, nothing broke while I was dismantling it. It looks like it's used with a switch or something. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it in the "Jam Housing" thread. I was really careful when opening the unit, and it fell out easily when I tipped the unit over.
Damn, looks like ill be ordering new housing too
I think it should go somewhere near the sliding volume control..
fixator
it looks like fixation of stilus inside the set in the place of stilus`s recess ,but my mda compact has it white color
Hello, that piece both covers holes that there are near the Sd card. I think that the function is that not between the dust in the machine, by the holes where the cord puts to hang. Moan my badly English, is a translation of google. Greetings
It covers these holes. Greetings
I also had the same problem when I opened my magician. From my experience, that part could be the hinge/lock that holds down the screen on one of it's side.
I could be wrong though.
Got it!!!!!!!

Dokoto, YOU GOT IT!!! Thanks heaps, now I can put it back together without worrying.
I'm surprised this isnt a common problem, it falls out so easily. Maybe once everything is back in place, something will hold it in.
Anyway, I've attached a pic to show everyone where it lives, incase someone else has the same problem.
Thanks again Dokoto!!

v1605 touchscreen issue & vodafones service

When it's cold it usually works.
but after a while it just works less and less until finally it's not working @ all.
I've returned it twice now. They just send it back after having supposedly replaced the screen. But i have my doubts.
Now I'm going to have to return it for a 3rd time. I have more than one of these phones and I do love them. This one however is just crap.
Apparently vodafone hasn't got a clue. Maybe I can give them some instructions on what to do with the damn thing. What would you tell them in my place?
I've had the thing for a few months now but it hasn't worked properly @ all during this period.
I even created a lovely video to show vodafone my problem
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpQyH3i7RQk
http://waalre.pwnz.it/tytn.avi
(might not work immediately because I only just uploaded it to the site)
p.s. thanks and keep up all the good work

First welcome to XDA-Dev
You don't know it b ut the problem has been reported here umpteen times. If you use the Search Google Sticky post near the top of the messages postings you will usually find what you are looking for.
There are recent threads on this probably not more than one page back!
Regarding the servicing. Actually I can believe they have replaced the screen. BUT we here probably know more than they on some matters. We know that this problem is not caused by a faulty screen - it is not the more traditional Screen Alignment problem (though it is related to it). We also know that to test this after any servicing is done, you need to leave the device on using power hungry apps to warm the device up.
I always recommend anyone with a warranty to insist on a Replacement and NOT a repair for this problem. There is an interesting recent thread taht suggest slackening casing screws and even internal screws can alleviate the pressure causing the problem. BUT if you have a warranty get another device - new screens are NOT the answer.
Here as a welcome is a saved version of my search. Please use an existing thread if you wish to post on this matter.

Replacing Housing help needed

I would like to replace the housing of my Tytn II EU
Including the front keyboard and the case buttons.
Where can I find instructions how to open the case?
Where to buy the best quality (original) housing?
Help appreciated!
John
First, you dont specify which Kaiser you're looking to disassemble. 2nd, we have a search feature on this forum. It works rather well too. You could of typed less in the search box and found your answer almost immediately. But instead, you chose to contribute more clutter to our forum. Thanks.
I found this in 2 seconds flat...

Can you tell I haven't had my coffee yet?
Thanks for the quick reply.
Sorry to kick-in an open door, but I am new to the forum and could not find it.
I just added the information in my original message.
I should have mentioned it in the title.
I am looking for a detailed instruction on desassembling the Tytn II
Thanks John

I can let you know from personal experience that it is very simple to get in and strip down the phone to the bare case. I bought a very well used and battle scarred phone on ebay and replaced the case in under half an hour; (proper tools used) a T6 and a small phillips were used. To separate the casing from PCBs i just used my fingernail, but a credit card can be used ( it was just cumbersome for me). Mike has got the expanation down with video and everything. If you run into any problems, just give a shout!

It is actually very easy indeed, especially using Mike's tutorials
THe only slightly difficult bit are in getting the semicircular circuit out and back in when you take the whole thing apart but you dont really need to do this when replacing the screen. Dont be put off by the dissembly instructions which show you how to do this. When you have got the screen off, that it IT.
Lastly as others have commented, re-assembly of the keyboard to the base can be a bit tricky unless you are doing it quicly and remember exactly how it came off. I once broke an L shaped 'foot' which I insist mysteriously isnt shown on the YouTube tuturial.
You can even get the digitiser off the screen relatively easy, though there isnt much point in doing this as it isnt worthwhile getting a screen without a digitiser, nor does the digitiser often break before the screen does. (I DO have a Hermes which has a hole in the digitiser, which nevertheless does still work!)
Can this same flex cable be causing my phone to be constantly opening the phoneprogram?

White screen SPV 3100

Hello all,
I'm newby at the forum and sorry for my bad English. I just read all the threads concerning my problem, before post this, and a can't find any solution
I bought this phone on ebay faulty. The seller tell that it only problem was white screen. I thought was simple to fix with flashing but... I tried to fix it using all the solutions even i just open it and clean with a soft brush but no luck
When i turn it on i just see a white screen. When a plug it in ac adapter he charge and when a plug it at my desktop e charge too but don't syncronize with active sync 4,5. For this i don't know if is a software or hardware issue.
I can't put into bootloader too.
Any Help? I don't want spend my money in a new lcd without your opinion.
Thanks in advance for all e regards from Portugal.
This topic has been covered many times, which is perhaps why folk will not answer in a new thread about it.
Have a look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321163
But in summary:
Flashing will not cure it.
A new screen will probably not cure it.
In many cases it is caused by a fault on the d/pad. Replacing that might be successful. In the thread above look for the bit about putting padding on a d/pad chip - that seems to have worked for many (but not all)
Mike
Hi there. I just open a new thread cause i had read all the things in the link you gave, with no luck for me. But thank you for the help.
Hello! I have the same problem with my Hermes. But I know how to solve it - at least in my case. I had to open PDA and look inside. There's a tape (strip?) which is connected by two screws. Well, one is gone. The tape doesn't lie as it should so I had to connect it by glue. Now it's fine. It was physical damage, flashing wouldn't help much, especially here but my thougts were similiar in the beginning.
Good luck and Cheers
