Anyone has any experience using P3600 outside in strong sunlight?
I have a Qtek 9100 (Wizard) which is USELESS outside...
Planning to upgrade yo P3600, but if screen is still lousy, well..

Every HTC phone I have encountered is worthless in direct sunlight. The only PPC I have seen that is semi-decent is the Treo 750 and that is far from perfect.
I would live to put some window tint or mirror tint on a screen protector and see if that works better.
It's really a royal pain to use it under direct sun light - combined with the fact that the dialpad lacks both visibility and tactile...
Would help if you find a shade above you or shield the phone with your body from the sunlight...

But in the "pdadb.net" says: Display Type:color transflective TFT.
It means that this display should reflect sunlight, more or less, but it has to.
Or HTC tells us lie ?
The Trinity is crap in sunlight and even outside on bright overcast days.
You cant even shade it outside and have to get your self inside somewhere with low light levels.
It is very much not a summer phone, and really needs to be avoided if you spend a lot of time outside and need to use the phone
Yes, the P3600 is absolutely useless in the sunshine, I think it's the only defect of Trinity.
You all want to say that other phones of HTC like P3300, P3350, P4550 - have different display and it mush, mush better ?
I wount believe - if HTC doesn't buy or make normal transflective display all of its products have same problems.

Huh? I said on top that every HTC phone is worthless in sunlight, except for the 750.

If we start talk about sunlight and displays - what is the best. I tested Asus 525 - it is like SE 750 (but not like Nokia 6233 or E61 - super) for ex. What else - E-ten ?

IMO all colour screen devices are rubbish in bright sunlight. By far the best device for bright sunshine is the old mono chrome device. Like the psion 5mx. Which is far better in bright sunshine than in low light. But it is a move backwards - one I doubt you will want to make!
i think that all you saying is true.... butttt one day i was really mad about the useless screen.. put it in the brighter level and now its ok!

I got my Trinity and screen protector from them and I really don't think this screen protector does anything more then any other one that I have tried.

I respect your thoughts my friend. Each person sees a different benefit from different items! The important thing is....ENJOY YOUR TRINITY!!!!!
I have tried 3 different screeen protectors and they do not make any difference to daylight.
AFAIK, there is no product available which will help - the manufacturers do all they can with regards to coatings etc to aid visibility and build these onto the display.
All the screen protectors do is ...... protect the screen from scratches.
Adding any extra cover to the screen will by definition, reduce visibility and not increase it.
OLED or OPLED displays may have better characteristics for daylight, but the current display technology is the problem.
Some HP and Fujitsu-Siemens PDAs have way better screens

I am the happy user of a Trinity, and I subscribe to the opinion that in sunlight, the screen is bad. Actually, even at max brightness, it is almost black, unusable.
I can testify that there are better screens though: I had an HP 6340 (PDA-phone) before the Trinity, and its screen WAS transreflective. Actually, the brighter the sun was, the more readable the screen became (not under any angle, but most of the time). Now that I donated it to a colleague, when I see it sometimes, I admire its large and beautiful screen. I also played with my boss' Fujitsu-Siemens 720 (I think), and it is also very visible. By the way, the FS's screen is also VGA, looks way better. The Trinity's screen does not even compare, especially because the tapping also requires more force on the Trinity.
It is a phone, used outside, for crying out loud! Why can't they buy from the same manufacturer as HP does?
However, beside the poor screen and the peeling of the black paint, there is no better convergence device than the Trinity, in my opinion. Oh, and the RAM could be a tad more, I might add.
I use my Trinity outdoors all the time when I golf. No complaints here. I mapped VJLumosIII it to a button to switch to max brightness instantly.

Hi everyone, I'm not much of a forum poster per se, but the immense sense of satisfaction if I dare call it that this device has given me I wanted to share with the community and perhaps sway people that are on the verge of deciding whether to take the plunge or not.
Little demographic info because I believe it will influence this short review since the device itself falls under a sort of intermediary category (phone/tablet). I am month away from 30 years of age, 181 cm tall, big giant head, small hands .

• Size and handling:
The SG Note in my palm, feels like a phone. I have by no means large palms, and the general feel is that the device is perfectly operational with 1 hand with the exception of typing. It's doable but the device has to be positioned so it's bottom edge in portrait lies on the little finger, then the whole on-screen keyboard is accesible with the thumb. In other words, for my type of usage, I'd even dare to ask for an even bigger screen, 5.5"-5.65" and even then I'd be using it as an all-in-one device.
Positioned next to the ear, you might get asked the "what's that question" but teen insecurities are long behind me so I don't give a damn of other people's opinion when it comes to my style or appearance let along gadgets I use. Small talk is for the weak.
In the pocket, the phone can fit just about any size, front/back pockets. So this is a non-issue when it comes to transport. I prefer wearing it in my front pockets. It doesn't create any noticeable bulge. Minor exception might be extremely elegant silk suits, but that's couple times a year scenario for me, and even then, the front jacket pockets would do just fine.
7.5/10 for size and handling (I'd give 9 to SGS2, 9.5 to HTC sensation)
• Weight:
With it's 178g, the device is light and easy to work and hold in the hands for prolonged periods of time. I've watched a full video without having to switch hands or body position, something I frequently do when using a tablet or a netbook. It's weight isn't felt even when worn in the front pockets of loose trousers, so you won't be getting that uncomfortable feel of unbalance and a weight pulling down.
8/10 for size and handling (I'd give 10 to SGS2, 8.5 to HTC sensation)
• Display:
In order to comment of the display, I have to mention previous handheld/PDA/cell phone history: Palm Vx, Nokia 6600, Dell Axim X5, Toshiba 640x480, Iphone 2G, Nokia E90, Nokia N900, HTC HD2, HTC Desire, Nokia N8, HTC Sensation, Samsung Galaxy S2.
And without hesitation I'd like to declare that SG Note offers the best viewing experience out of any of the aforementioned devices. It's a perfect blend of resolution and picture quality.
- Black color: 95% pure black. SGS2 has perfect, 100% black tones, and Note, in a pitch dark room can distinguish between absolute darkness and on-screen tones. But it would be an extreme nit-picking if anyone finds this objectionable since the difference is so miniscule that doubt any sane person or even extreme gadget/visuals freak will find it objectionable. Introducing ambient light in the room, makes the on screen black appear as perfect blacks.
- White color: perfect white! Unlike my SGS2 which was simply put blue, in the 6400K range, the SG Note has extremely accurate white color tones. Beats my IPS apple cinema display 30" / 27" setup. Not having a true white color made browsing and watching web sites unbearable of the SGS2, outweighing to a big extend the joy from watching 720p videos.
- Contrast, saturation and brightness : Perfect. Unlike SGS2 where red/green/blue was heavily over saturated, the balance here is perfect. Everything is easy on the eye, colors pop-up just enough to make you want to stare for a long time admiring HD pictures, videos or simply browsing your favourite sites. You don't get tired when watching the screen.
In a way, all the benefits or Super amoled combined with all the benefits from an IPS display technology.
The resolution, paired with 5.3" or real estate, is something I've been waiting since I first got my hands on a mobile device. Sole reason I've changed devices was having the need for getting the highest resolution on an ideal size (4.5-6"). Although Iphone 4 had and still has the highest PPI, the 3.5" makes it useless for my needs.
1280x800, on a 5.3", + the contrast, tonal clarity, 0% light bleeds/leaks or similar effects, only 1 stuck sub pixel (stuck red, unnoticable in daily use) - make it the best panel I've ever seen.
9.5/10 (I'd give 8.5 to SGS2, 7.5 to HTC sensation)

-GPS lock is simply the best from everything I used before the Note
-I wish the white color is more whiter (like in the iPhone4)
-the s-Pen could have been positioned located in a better place
- amazingly amazing for gaming
- try watching movies via HDMI using MHL on 1080p (when I demo this to my friends they go nuts)
- connect it to a screen and bluetooth key-mouse
the bueaty of the Note is that it does not lag, slow it is just snap... something I missed from the iPhone4.... it just need to get better and this should be fixed with ICS
Simple word to discribe it is "AMAZING!!" all my co workers at work are amaze of its!! I do have htc phone before, but no one feel anything. Until i own this note, everyone looks to me differently now..lol

I got this phone because I've been waiting for a smaller Android device that doesn't treat you like a second class citizen. This is really the first one out there that does this, I found it for £360 on sale which is only £30 more than the 32gb Nexus 5 and tbh since it has a micro SD slot, I think it is a really great deal,, especially seeing as the specs are like a main flagship device.
So some thoughts...
- Really well made, feels like an iPhone 5/5s for Android.
- I've been with my Mum today and she had a go on it and said it is the first Android mobile she'd ever think about upgrading to because of the small size.
- When I put it side by side with the iPhone 5, it really isn't much bigger, just a tad wider which is better since my biggest complaint with the 5 is the screen is so narrow
- I can easily use the phone one handed and use the whole screen, I've got average sized hands and I've found all these 5inch Android phones to have just gotten too big, especially my old HTC One, I hand to slide the phone up and down my hand to use the power button.
- Power button is great, the volume rocker is slightly too small as is the camera button, but they're minor flaws.
- The Sim tray and Micro SD slot I found to be really tricky to use, the Sim especially seems rather fiddly and I doubt the average user would work it out without possibly breaking the tray.
- I love the led charging light by the top speaker, I'm not sure if it doubles up as a notification light, but I hope it does.
- The loud speaker is not great, it's serviceable, will get you by, but you wont want to be listening to music or video out of it. That said I never wanted to do that from my HTC One and always used an external speaker or headphones any ways as no small speaker is that good in a phone. However if you walk the dog up the fields like me and don't like using headphones as you want to hear what is going on around you, the loud speaker isn't going to cut it, I struggled to hear it sometimes.
- The Magnetic charging is a cool touch, it really is needed as having to open that flap all the time would be so annoying. I mean I bought a Micro USB to Magnetic charge adapter for a few quid on Amazon, I'd suggest you all do the same as it is pretty necessary, I don't understand why one isn't sold with it as standard.
- Comes with a nice usb adapter so you can do stuff like plugging in your PS3 controller to play games. Maybe this would compliment screen mirroring or Chromecast gaming? I dunno, I haven't tried it, but just a nice little bonus.
- The X reality engine is ****, it just ruins the picture, usually just makes a picture too bright like it has been over exposed. The phone comes with it on by default... turn it off.
- The screen is a mixed bag for me, resolution and pixel density wise, I cannot fault it, looks as crisp as an iPhone and tbh I don't get why people care about having 440PPI when I cannot see a pixel at 340PPI, you never look at a screen under a magnifying glass. Again it is 720p, but for the size screen I just turn browse text to large and everything looks crisp and great, I really do not miss having the 1080p screen of my HTC One. Maybe if I was using a 4.7 inch+ screen again I'd want 1080p, but for this small screen 720p works, Apple have proved this as no one cares abut the iPhones resolution, which is like 640?
That said though I can see the digitizer when the sun glances off the phone, it is a downer as I never saw it on my last phone (Nokia 1020) or my HTC One before that. Though screens are a lottery it seems as they're all made from different companies, my friend got a HTC One and could see his badly.
The black levels aren't that great, neither are the viewing angles, I'm being picky here as they're totally fine, just I'm used to an OLED screen now and it is hard to go back. Black levels on OLED screens aren't perfect, they do have light bleed and a weird effect as the pixels go from colour to black, but... it is hard to adjust back to seeing more of a grey if you're in a dark room.
The colours seem fine to me, the white seems fine, I don't notice any tints, though maybe if I compared it side by side to other phones I would. However I wouldn't let this bother you as you'll never do that in real life, as long as the whites aren't so far off they're obvious.
I'm am struggling however with brightness levels, there doesn't seem to be much control like other phones. I wish there were more brightness presets, I can turn it down to the lowest on the slider and it still seems too bright, I could really make my other phones go quite dark. I dunno if it is brightness or if it is just washing out light colours in particular, but the x reality engine makes it worse... like way worse!
Overall though the screen is good, it isn't the best, but it is still a great screen that I've personally been picky on as I've owned a lot of different phones.
- The software is good, Sony don't mess around with it too much, it is a non offensive Android Skin. My only problem is I'm on 4.3 and that seems a bit weird, you'd have thought it would have a newer version by now. Some things are nice with the software as well, Sony have added some good apps of theirs and the battery stuff is cool. Everything is so fast, faster than any other phone I've used, including HTC One, iPhone 5 and Nokia 1020, omg just SO FAST! The 720p screen also probably helps it too over 1080p screens.
- On to battery, it is amazing, I don't get how they can cram so much life into such a small phone, I can say it is definitely a major step up from the 1020 and the horrible life I seemed to get from Windows Phone. It seems a step up from my HTC One as well and it performs better than my Mum's iPhone 5, though that is a year old now so the battery is probably less efficient at this point. I find it amazing how fast it charges over USB alone on my PC and through the magnetic charge, way faster than anything I've used before. Also though I was playing some games on it earlier and the battery didn't seem to go down much at all.
- The phone doesn't heat up that much, I was expecting worse since it is so small and light, but while I noticed it get hot, it wasn't bad like my Nokia 1020 and obviously since it is a plastic back it doesn't act like the HTC One, which got hot like a radiator... series that was the worst! Never get a mobile with a metal back and that isn't made by Apple, not a good idea.
- I find the speaker position just fine, I kept hearing how it was easy to cover up... with my usage, I haven't experienced that, even when gaming and most likely you'll get a case any ways.
- The camera is a mixed bag and sadly a bit of a downer I'm afraid, I was expecting better from a phone with a larger sensor than the Nokia 1520. Auto mode seems worse than useless, every picture just looks plain bad and I have a feeling it is restricting the pictures to 8mp and there is no way to increase it. Manual mode is really the only viable way to take pictures, sadly though there is no higher res 16:9 option. Every picture though seemed to be different, I could never take the same picture twice and I ended up taking several just so I would get a good one. The good news is when the software did it's job the quality did look good, not as good as I was expecting, but I have been using a 1020 until recently, so maybe that is why it is such a shock.
My main problem with the camera though was the screen never really reflected on what the final picture would look like. Your screen would be out of focus and blurred, yet when the picture comes from, it looks fine, also all the colours and lighting would change, I could never get it to accurately display what I was going to take.
The good news though is the camera is fast and I think it uses oversampling like Nokia's Pureview when it is in 8mp auto mode. Though I'm sick of smart phones today and how they all over saturate everything, the Z1 compact is no different, even the 1020 did this, but at least with the 1020 I could use a .DNG file and open it in lightroom to get natural colours, no such raw files on this phone exist, so you have to live with it.
The Mic performance on recording video is great, unlike with most Android Phones I've had in the past (including the S4) you're able to record loud noises like a concert. I turned up my sound system pretty high with the sub woofer going and it coped as well as Nokia which was amazing for concerts.
The video quality is fine too, the software stabilization works fine, I'm not a fan of OIS is mobiles, I never thought it worked well in the 1020 or HTC One, it always made the image into a watery or dreamy effect and recording on my bicycle was impossible as a result. Yes it is a bit less stable, but tbh so was my 1020, OIS worked poorly on it, though the HTC One it actually worked ok. I'm not missing OIS, all I'm saying, yes it works on dedicated cameras, you can shake them all you like and they cope, but no mobile has managed to perfect it yet.
So the camera is a mixed bag, I'm sure it can all be fixed with software, but I dunno how well Sony do on updates?
My only question really goes out to how well the screen protector Sony put on as designed hold up. It is THE major flaw really and I can see it frustrating a lot of people who do not know it comes with it as it scratches so easily. That reason alone is why I couldn't recommend it to women who shove their phone in their handbag, the phone wouldn't hold up. If you put a screen protector over it (one comes free with in the box) then it is fine, but I just think it is stupid to put a screen protector over a screen protector. There is no protective coating on the glass under either... which means you cannot simply just take it off.
Conclusion...
I love it, looks so premium, feels so premium, has the functionality of a 5inch + screened Android phone, it is the fastest phone I've ever used, Sony's software isn't bad or intrusive like TouchWiz or some other Android skins and the camera is potentially really good but needs a firmware update to fix auto mode.
I have pointed out bad points, but I could do that with any phone, I mean I couldn't stand Windows Phone and how it has no apps and no functionality. With this Z1 Compact I've mirror'd my phone to my TV effortlessly and without chromecast, I can just screen mirror and it works every time. This hasn't happened with any other phone I've used, I could never get it to work with my HTC which had it built in either.
I really think it is THE best iPhone alternative for people who don't want IOS and I think it is finally THE handset to buy for Android if you want a smaller device without all the internals being downgraded.

I want to add that the LED light on the camera bleeds into the pictures, so it is pretty much worthless, though I've never used led flash on a mobile for anything other than a torch, Xenon is the only thing worth it.
This is probably a hardware design fault tbh, maybe fixed with a replacement back that doesn't have a see-through layer that lets the light bounce to the side? I dunno.
I used semi-permanent marker fix around the rim of the camera and it stopped the light bleed into it from the LED. My guess is Sony will do a hardware refresh on this, so maybe hold out until they've done that.
I didn't realise the rear cover was the problem until I searched fro fixes, I guess I was right about the clear part leaking light from the LED into the camera.
Hi friends, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note since 2012 and I used to love it. It was fast, big, it had a good camera, an almost perfect screen (The first HD Super Amoled screen) and the amazing S-Pen. It went from 2.3.5 Gingerbread to Android 5.0 Lollipop (Unbelievable). But yes, after 3 years of heavy using it, it started to show problems. The camera stopped working fine, It didn't focused anymore, the S-Pen started malfunctioning (moving elements of the screen without even touching it), the USB board went bad (including the microphone and usb jack) and the screen has burn-in issues. Then I assumed that was time to change it. Now I'm looking for the new flagship, the Note 4 (which I'm going to buy in January). So I read almost every review of it, every video and photos taken with his camera and everyone says that the phone is almost perfect (I mean almost because the 80% complains about the Touchwiz Layer in the OS, which I love and I don't have any problem to live with it) and doesn't have any flags. So I came here to ask to the people who already owned it and have some daily experience with the device what are their thoughts, problems and good things about it. Also some little things that I'm a bit worried:
-How good the camera is?
-It's early to ask because no one had this phone for more than 4 months, but does anyone experienced screen burn in? And how looks the screen in direct sunlight?
-What parts of the phone are metal? Only the frame or the whole body? And how feels it? It's good to handle or still feels like cheap plastic?
-What about the phone duration? Anyone had scratches on it? How bad they're? Please if you can add some photos of them, because the phone isn't even released here in Argentina and they arent any covers or protectors for the it so I need to stay for around 3 months with a "nude" phone.
Sorry for too many questions, but I really need to know how good this phone is because the price is really high. Thanks!

- The Camera is fine, in my opinion, but that probably depends on the persons preference and use.
- I can't say I have experienced any burn-in, but the screen is okay in direct sunlight; however, if you angle your phone to inspect the glass in sunlight with the screen on, I notice a reddish tint all over with that blurryness you would experience if you were in a well-lit city at night without glasses when you need them haha :silly:
- Admittedly, the phone feels a tad delicate, but that's what cases are for! I have been using an s-view case without a screen protector since purchase and it still looks like-new! If you aren't going to use a case for your phone though, a full metal body might be better.
- With my s-view case and no screen protector, my phone has no scratches - that I can see. Unless you carry your phone in the same pocket as your keys and other objects, you will be fine :3 Unless you carry sand in your pocket Phone duration seems to vary among different models though. I am using a 910V (?) and I get anywhere from 4~6 hours of Screen-on time. The stand-by time is the best part though imo. I can usually go 2 days or more without a charge.

The red tint usually happens if I angle the phone on purpose I leave my brightness settings on automatic and the screen is always clear (as it would be at nighttime) with the sun directly over me.

If I had any complaints, the s-pen would convince me that it's worth it so I'm pretty biased xD
The phone is just fine. But u should buy the qualcom varients as this is my 3rd note 4. Its qualcom but backside 4g+ is written. Its true if u see the display from an extreme angle you will see red tint but its normal for me cause almost nobody watch the display from 170 or 180 degree. Qualcom chipset has better ram and bettery management over exinos one. And the phone really looks premium. Not only looks but u will feel it when you touch it. No problem seeing the display at direct sunlight. And it does not matter if they use gorilla glass 10 it will have scratch if you do not use screen protector or flip cover. So be careful.
I recently got an Eonon GA8163 unit for my mazda, and for the most part its okay.
I'm really considering returning it because of the dim screen during the daytime. With sunglasses on, you can't see it, and without its still pretty dim.
Is there anything I can do to help it out?
I have everything set at max brightness, white background, but was wondering if there were any more advanced work arounds.
If there isn't anything else I can do, i'm tempted to return the unit and go with a standard brand name double din unit.
Hi there is usually a resistor or a preset resistor that you can change or adjust. But you will have to find the location of it on the board. If you have the PCB layout it would be much easier to locate it.

I stumbled on to a fix in setting if you lighten the backup cam settings to 10 it seams to lighten the regular display it fix mine very happy

How do you change the backup camera settings? The backup cam on mine automatically launches when the car is placed in reverse, but I don't see an extra app or settings. Your help is appreciated!

Hi go into factory settings (126) then scroll to the right there are settings to control the leds in that same column scroll down you will see backup camera brightness.

Thanks !!! That seems to significantly make the screen BRIGHTER. (at least it looks brighter as I look at it at night .. will see what it looks like once the sun comes up).
If it's still not bright enough, here are a few words of encouragement :-
While there is no User adjustable CONTRAST, it would seem that even at FULL Brightness, Blacks are still a full BLACK, and are not washed out and starting to become a dark gray.
This would indicate, that if the Backlight was BRIGHTER, it may still not burn through a Black section, but a white section would brighter.
So all that is needed is a BRIGHTER BACKLIGHT.
I suspect the current Backlight is running near maximum brightness, otherwise the manufacturer would set it up higher -- so what is needed is an Upgraded Backlight (and possibly associated Backlight supply).
A better backlight would cost more in production, so to keep the cost down, a manufacturer will fit a backlight with the minimum brightness (ie Cost), that they can get away with.
However, LCD displays can have potentially have very high power Backlight in them, so that they can be readily readable in BRIGHT sunlight. (if battery power is not rationed -- ie in a Smartphone). Car has a "BIG" battery, so a more power hungry BRIGHTER backlight would not be an issue on car battery life.
Next time I have the Unit "out of the car" I intend to take a look at the backlight, and research the possibolity of fitting a significantly brighter backlight. It should be possible to fit one that would be so bright, one would never want to run it at full brightness, and it would be blinding, even in direct sunlight.
Having upgraded over 200+ Industrial LCD display to brighter LED Backlights, I believe that the above might be a distinct possibility, at a reasonable cost. The only restriction might be how easy it would be for the average user, to carry out the upgrade, without damaging their unit.
If this works out, I will post some pictures and details of the upgrade.
The GS2170B is a great unit for it's price, with a very good response speed. It's only major failing I have experienced, is a sub-optimal Brightness.

Thats awesome! Have you looked into this yet/have any luck? I have a GA2170 as well which is just a bit too dim to be easily seen in daylight (night time is fine). Also, has anyone bought an anti-glare film to cover the screen? I feel that that would help immensely (mine is so shiny that any sunlight in the car at all renders it nearly unreadable).

WARNING? Long -- do not read unless you are really interested in my personal thought on this subject.
I have taken the HU apart to check out the LCD panel part. It is custom to that model, and not a readily replaceable display to a brighter panel.
So I have put modifying it on hold, and have explored some other ways to improve the appearance of the display.
(1) Tinted my Windows (they had no factory tint) .. That helped in so many other ways as well.
(2) Diagnose what was actually being reflected, which was interesting and not what I had expected.
The reflection you see when looking reasonably straight on into the display, is the reflection of what is directly perpendicularly in front of the display.
If you look at a modern car HU, they now tend to be mounted quite high up, but no longer is a shaded Tunnel/Hole.
Instead, the are mounted at an angle to point up at the inner ceiling of the car, which optimally is a dark color, and therefore is not throwing much reflective light onto the front of the Glass.
I had always incorrectly assumed, it was the direct sunlight, shining through the windows onto the panel, but this is only part of the reflection problem.
If you get a sheet of white paper, and move it around about 2 feet from the display, you should clearly see, that when you get the paper into a perpendicular position in front of the display, that the reflection from that white paper is the major cause of not being able to read the screen ,
Replace that white paper with a Mat Back sheet, and the display becomes amazingly more readable,
This is why the manufacturers now slant their units to be pointing up at the ceiling, between the drive and passenger seats.
Anti Reflective Films: I have yet to find a decent, effective, anti reflective film.
Most being sold are to help prevent scratch damage to the front glass, and if anything, are actually more reflective than the glass itself.
Manufacturers can get a pretty good anti reflective coating onto Glass (example, a good Picture frame glass, or car dashboard glass), but it must be a lot more difficult, or cost prohibitive, to get a decent anti reflective coating onto a cheap $10 screen protective film.
Since my unit is a replacment for the 2din radio in a 30 year old (Classic ?) car, and is located low in front of the gear level, and not higher up as in most modern cars, I have made compromises.
Even it it was Highly Bright & Readable, looking down at it is a major distraction of taking your eyes completely off the road, so I have concentrated now on making the unit more controllable by the addon steering wheel Buttons, and with Google Assistant control, that there is now seldom a need to even look at the unit, especially for any length of time, or to perform any complex, distracting operations.
This approach is working well, and as time goes by, I am finding I am getting far less concerned about the lower brightness display.
Also, since my Unit has Video Out, I am considering mounting a small Video screen up in my Instrument panel (Probably covering the Tach, and having a nice bright display there that I can see while still looking ahead through the windscreen. The other option is a nice bright Heads Up display, throwing the Information onto the Windscreen, just like the Air Force Fighter Pilots have in their jets !!

My GA2170B came with a film already on the screen (I think that was just a factory/shipping anti scratch protective film), and a separate, user installable protective film, that claimed to be anti reflective, but did not appear to do much to top reflections.
Manufacturers poor attempt to compensate for what they must realize is a "cheap sub standard brightness screen" -- but you get what you pay for.
You want something really nice and high end, be prepared to drop $1000+
I wish the glass on the Eonon was like the Glass on my 30 year old car's Instrument panel.
It has NO RELECTION at all, and when it is clean, you cannot even see that it is there. It looks like you can just reach out and physically touch the needles of the Gauges, even when there is bright sun shinning in directly onto it.
All the sun does is to make the Needles and Gauge Scale brighter !!
