[APP] TF3D QVGA Standby Standalone | v1.1a Ready !

I wanted a tool to get my polaris into standby while running TF3D without the need for MortScript, S2U2 and so on. So i wrote my own tool, it actually monitors powerstates like S2U2 does (thx A_C) and turns off or turns on TF3D which allows the device to go into standby.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tf3dStandby]
TF3DShutdownTimeout -> Time in MS before suspend, when we shutdown TF3D.
AutoSuspendTimeout -> Time in MS after shutting down TF3D and suspending the device. (This gives TF3D some time to shutdown)
ResumeTimeout -> Timeout in MS to wait before starting TF3D after wakeup.

- Autosuspend works too now, it uses the configuration from settings->power, it disables TF3D 5 sec before suspend. Didnt test it in combination with S2U2 yet, but for now it works like it supposed to. It also uses both timeouts for suspend on AC and on battery.
v1.0 :

- Turns off TF3D when pressing the power button
- Turns on TF3D when pressing the power button
- Issue: for now you have to disable that the device suspends after a given time in power management, otherwise the device will hang.
Just put Tf3dStandby.exe in \Windows\Startup and soft-reset. If you want to upgrade the exe file, use dotfred's taskmanager to kill the process.

this one doesn't work on LG KS20 too. it must be because its a different device from HTC.

tf3dstandby.exe won't work if the tf3d in today

The graphics still arent the same as on the diamond but it works pretty good.

Hey man, in sktools there is a function to clean up ram if it goe under a specified limit.
Try this, maybe it will free up enough ram.

the V1.1 is worst for me on the lg ks20. it hangs my TF3D after waking up and my backlight stays dim no matter what i press but the screen is still active. the V1.0 for me is a better performer eventhough the sleep mode is not working properly.

It worked ok on my HTC polaris ;but I noticed a delay in the starting up the phone so if you got a call it will rings only after TF3D started i.e about 1 minute !

s2u2 little problem...not solved yet...

i use s2u2 from long time on all my htc devices and this time ive to report a little issue, vey little for true...
sometime, generally after pc connection or bluetooth headset connection, but also without using usb connection at all, ive the headset icon showed and it disappears only if i connect-diosconnet the wired headset.
anyone with this problem? i repeat, not a big problem, but very boring...
possible to solve?

same thing here. seems like it started with me after I used my s9 bluetooth headset. when I used my wired set, I don't think this happened.

I have the same issue, but it doesn't have any consequences for me.
Another issue I do have with S2U2 is when I make a call via a bluetooth headset, the keypad disables and it happens often that keys are pressed while the phone is in my pocket after I made a call. Haven't found a setting that disables this either.

i tried to install it but i get the error that it is not signed and therefor not running.
i looked up everything here but there is so much on S2U2 that i dont know what to install in wath order.

-go here and download the wvga version and the language pack.
-extract the s2u2 cab file in your memory card and the correct language file.
-install the cab in your tp2 (not in the memory card), rename the language file (i.e. lang.english.ini->lang.ini) and copy it into \programs\s2u2 folded (when asked click on replace existing file).
-reboot.
when windows starts a popup appears and s2u2 starts for the first time. so you can now set it up in s2u2 setting (wallpaer, ecc...)

mine shows weather correctly...have u selected touchflo3d in s2u2 settings?
...have you downloaded the weather for the location and have you setting up the gmt time for the same locatioon in home tab?
to show weather correctly weather tabs must shows the same location as gmt time.

Hey I just installed S2U2 cause I needed a good locking program but for some weird reason and multiple installations, uninstall and soft-resets, I'm still not able to get the slide to unlock work.
I mean i get the screen with the time and all just the slider isn't there.
i have tried many skins but still no go.
Is there a solution I don't know?

In the S2U2-Settings, set the following values (beside the others you want, of course):
Hide all softkeys: OFF (This is the value that hides the slider)
Display mode: GDI (Otherwise the screen would be scrambled sometimes when you change the orientation)

It won't go completely away by this but it's much better than with the other display driver modes.
If you find a definitive solution for this problem, please let me know

i'm using the 2.01 theme vga for s2u2 for my tilt 2.
i have a question about the little headset icon that appears at the very top of the lock screen...is there a way to make that disappear? i do not have BT enabled nor a headset plugged in..not sure why it's there...
another questions, i use htc home weather, but the weather picture does not appear...any idea how to fix this?

I've noticed that headset icon too. It's probably a side-effect of the widcomm BT stack instead of the MS one. Might need to talk with A_C to get that resolved.
As far as the weather, make sure you have it set to Manila 3D (type 7 IIRC).

i set it to manila 3d, but only display today's high and low temps...what is type 7 IIRC?

do you by chance know how to get rid of the pin security? apparently i now have to slide to unlock (s2u2) and then enter pin..i thought s2u2 would overwrite it..

And it is option 7 in the settings (Manila 3d Weather). You're just missing the icons for the weather but you can see the high/low numbers? That might be the theme if you're using one. Or maybe you're missing the gfx files under \Program Files\S2U2\gfx\weather
Pin security should be under Start, Settings, Lock (or at least it is on NRG ROM; Fusion might be different).

You could always assign a hard button to launch S2U2. Or there's also the S2P integration. If you change the settings of S2U2 to lock when the backlight goes off instead of when coming out of standby it would auto-lock when the screen dims. Or there's the time-based locking as well (lock after x seconds).
I haven't had a problem with S2U2 draining the battery on the Tilt2. v2.04 seems rock solid. Just keep the default power/advanced settings and you should be fine.

This app will give you full screen photos when someone is calling you,
has a very nice homescreen with SMS, Email,Weather and all.
On the 6.5.1.ROM's on the HD it doesn't work well anymore.
Please test this on HD2.

That is correct, will think about it, and will try mayb when I get back @ home.

S2U2 works fine on my HD2 (though I don't use the CallerID function).
The only problem is that all hardware keys (except volume) wake up the phone. And worst, a long press on on-off key start the power-off panel (quite troublesome given that you can shutdown the phone accidentaly in your pocket).
Someone has a solution ?

I think it's ridiculously unlikely that that will ever happen! Do you keep random button pressing machines in your pockets?
I've had mine for 2 weeks now, and it's not even been out of standby mode when I've taken it out of my pocket, ever.

Apart from the fact that wm6.5 slide to unlock doesn't show all day appointment
By the way s2u2 works fine to me.

I've had the problem of power-off panel yesterday, that's why I ask this question.
And the problem for the other hardware key is that it is battery draining to have the screen on (and I don't wear baggies, thus it happen quite regurlarly)

Already installed on my HD2 very nice, anyone know how to disable the slider lock of origin HD2?

You are right. S2U2 lacks a quick resleep function (which is present in TouchLockPro). When TouchLockPro has fixed the G-sensor detection, I think it is way better than S2U2 in terms of locking (except that it doesn't have the sexy interface). I don't really care what it shows on the screen when it is locked.
No, with S2U2 active, I can't long press the end key to turn off the phone without first slide-unlocking.
Fortunately, the panel is still locked after HD2 is waked up by a hard key. At least it won't be sending mails or dialing phones in your pocket.

Thats not true. With the newest version that doesn't happen. I tried to replicate the behavior and nothing...

Ive asked this question on another thread but has anyone noticed a problem with caller ID, if the image is from a linked facebook profile it doesn't show up when someone calls.

The pictures aren't actually on the phone though, they are just retrieved from facebook. Is there any way you can get S2V to utilise them?

well in that case you have to download them, get a nice fullscreen image, believe me its very impressive when someone calls you and its pic is fullscreen and clear

Are there any options to show more appointments on the lockscreen than ONE?
One event is a little bit less for a good overview.

I don't know much about WM 6.5 default lock screen. But I use S2U2 and you can configure it to show several (I guess it's up to 7) appointments in its lock screen.

They know what you mean, which is why they suggested slide2unlock. It's a replacement for the WINDOWS lock screen (not HTC), that does what you ask.

Just to check whether anyone tested the Slide2Unlock application on WM.5 or HD2?
I try to do a search in this forum but it seems that only the old version is available and nobody is developing that application anymore.

Err, not true. The thread you want is in the Development & Hacking Forum. To download you need to access AC's website (the author) which is one of the download links within the relevant thread.

My friend told me that he saw some of the HTC Device using the WM6.5 have a better unlock screen than the HD2 or Leo which will show the Number of SMS and Missed Calls details on the lock screen instead of the numbering on the lock button.

Managed to find this program to replace the stock lock and unlock screen, you can display number of SMS, MMS, Emails or Missed Calls instead of the number beside the Lock Icon.

well, s2u2 is nice for XDA Herald, but not for the HD2.
The standard-lockscreen on the HD2 is much pretty nicer than the s2u2 for me.
are there no reg-hacks on xda-developers???

I totally agree with cms. The windows mobile lockscreen is excellent but it only shows one damn appointment! Surely this has got to be possible?

Yeah, I too like the standard lock screen, would be nice if it showed more appointments though.
Not keen on installing S2U2.

Would be amazing if someone modded the lock screen.

I installed S2U2 on my HD2 and agreed on most of the comments. The standard lock screen looks better but is too basic. The S2U2 has all the info I needed but I cannot get rid of the standard windows one so I ended up having 2 unlock screen now which is annoying. Does anyone know how to disable the standard one?

BSB Tweaks does that.
Or Settings>Security>block phone> untick block screen.
But in my opinion s2u2 is better, it shows the sms, mms, email, and tasks that original htc dont

Just as a matter of interest, do you guys who say you don't like S2U2 know you can customise it by putting in your own wallpapers and/or gifs? You can even have the wallpaper change at regular intervals, giving you a fresh look whenever you wish.
So what you can do, if you wish, is to have a wallpaper that closely resembles the standard lock's wallpaper but sat in S2U2. You then get a better lock application with the look you are after.

I like the standard lock screen and would very much like more than 1 appt to be shown. I have tried S2u2 but i find it a bit bloated now, it is very capable and works but i just find it too big/bloated.
Is there a way we could tweak the MS lock screen?

Thanks. Interestingly I cannot find the block phone function under Security so I disable it through S2U2.

As it happens I was also fiddling with the latest version of S2U2 yesterday evening. Hadn't used it since I had my TP.
I'm running XannyTech's latest rom and when I use S2U2 as a replacement for the win6.5 lock, my Manila sliding tabs on the bottom slide behind the bottom bar where the softkeys are displayed on.
Anybody seen this before? I seem to remember that there was a little program to correct that but can't find it back.
Tried fiddling with S2U2' settings but disabling bottom and top bar did not help either.
if anybody knows how to correct that, would be great to hear.
ps: when uninstalling S2U2 and soft reset puts the manila sliding tabs back where they should be...

S2U2 is definitely the way to go if you want to configure the lockscreen to add more calendar entries. But I never got the hang of using the alert bubbles sitting in the bottom right corner of the screen as they were too hard to press with my thumb, one-handed.
I posted in the S2U2 thread about this but the suggestion there was to go back to the original WM lockscreen. Which I did.

I too prefer the standard Lock screen except would love it to show more Calendar items and perhaps Birthdays. The configure page is really limited but better this than someting too bloated for a lock screen.
