NEW CAB for DIAMOND 3G VIDEO-DIALER SKIN for Polaris ! - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

UPDATE: NEW CAB Installer !(Many thanks to SaBo)
THE Buttons for active video calls and Landscape are not skinned at the moment but they are working with your default Buttons.
This is just working on any Polaris (touchcruise, Orbit2) and maybe Kaiser (?)and changes just your graphics in windows folder to Diamond Style and changes/adds some registry entries for the progress screen to get a dark text color on the white buttons (screenshot 2). It works with any language.
This is only tested with wm 6.0, i can cause small graphic Problems with wm 6.1 (see last Post).
Thanks for the People who helped me, and for one background i found here somewhere and SaBO for the new cab installer.

thank you great work

Tried on TyTN II with Hyperdragon IIIs full rom, main dialer screen works but the end call screen doesn't seem to work, or is it the new skin doesn't include the end call screen.
Smartdial is working, but Video call is working, error message saying that 3G network is not available. Not sure at this moment if it was due to Rom 3G dialer or not.
Thanks for the great work.

I have a touch cruise! The graphics are stored in the windows folder?

Alright, confirmed 3G video working.

Hi,for easy install,here is the cab .

- thanks for the cab
- my Idea was, why install a new "not working" Dialer if whe can change just the graphics of the existing one ? so on Polaris everything must work.
- im still working with original Diamond graphics now and you will get a much more beautifull Dialer (see Post 2),
- the video, erase.... buttons are to bright at the moment, this will be solved with next version.
- the End-screen will come also, its not included at the moment, first i must search for all buttons in my windows directory
- maybe i do landscape too, but never seen anyone phone in landscape
if anyone finds a bug (forgotten graphic) post here.

Update to a better Version, see first Post
Here you find a Quick GPS-Skin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405548

wow, great minds think alike. I was just thinking about which icon to use for my 3g idaler skin and came across one I like on Google search. Then I run across this and you ended up using the same exact one! Guess i will use something else.

btw, can you post a screen shot of the progress page during call and after hang up. i need to see what are the functions of the buttons during and after call.

hy super.
I used with a little of reworking original Diamond buttons found in the oem pack of diamond. The video/Call list and erase buttons are made by me with using diamond background buttons.
at the moment this is just the dialpad, but i am working on a solution for dialing in progress. Here is a first screenshot:
Problem that will come:
1. this dialer uses white text on blank black buttons, so there will be a problem when using white Buttons ? maybe i have to do some changes in the registy to solve that problem.
2. I Can´t locate exactly the other blank buttons without text. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHICH ARE THE EXACT NAMES OF THIS BLANK BUTTONS; FOUND 3 OR 4 BUTTONS THAT COULD BE USED BY THE DIALER IN MY WINDOWS DIRECTORY ?
2. The VideoCall Button was easy, its skinnable on its own and not using the other blank background buttons with text, so i could use a picture for it.

It works on my HTC Touch Cruise. Thank you very much.

thank you for feedback.
still working on Dialing screen, but now i got this graphics bug on the first row
i found out that the blank buttons the dialer uses are called CmdBtn..., EdBtn... and TkBtn... but my same button has the bug only in first row ?
Problem two is the white text (what a surprise he he)
will work on this tomorrow.

i copied these files to my windows folder but there was nothing to replace. I did a soft reset, and i still had the same htc dialer. doesnt work on the Kaiser i guess.

For different color of Progress page text, try:
HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\PROGRESS\portrait(landscape)\VerbButton\textFlags
it is probably at ffffff (white), try changing it to 0 for black. remember to wait a few minutes before soft resetting.
I use to also think that making skin for Landscape was a waste of time. But if you don't do it, there will be a line of people asking for it, so you might as well do it.

bluemetalaxe said:
UPDATE: The NEW VERSION, using original Diamond Graphics (and some from me )
it was a little bit more work then first Version.
If you already have my first version, just replace the files with this.
THIS IS JUST tested on POLARIS !!! and its only the Dialpad, will do more next days.
This is working because i changed only graphics.
Its just tested on Polaris Dialer (touchcruise/Orbit 2). No Landscape support.
This is not working if you have another Phone or Dialer. maybe on Kaiser if it has the same htc dialer ?
-make a copy of original graphics (see in my folder which graphics are replaced) or make a backup. When you do a hardreset your original graphics are back of course.
What to do: download, unzip and put the Folder on your touchcruise, use TotalCommander and put all graphics from my folder directly in your windows directory. Make a softreset. Ready.

Tested on my TyTN II running on Hyperdragon IIIs full rom. I like the previous version of video call button better. Anyway, appreciate the efforts. BTW, I think the last screen buttons had not been done.
Thanks.

- mikeeey: thank you for feedback, so the original kaiser rom seems to have another dialer/button names.
if someone has the time he can find out how the buttons are named on kaiser and rename my graphics ?
- superflysocal: i dont have the textflag or any text or textcolor-key in this regitrypaths or other paths ?
-zand: you dont like all buttons or just the video eye-button? the first version was in most parts original touchcruise with changed white/black buttons, this version has original diamond buttons, just made new green display, function buttons.

Doesn't rotate programs on the Touch Pro here, but it can somehow rotate the TouchFlo interface.
Same on HTC Diamond. Rotates main screen (messes up graphics for the icon tab) but still rotates it. Wont rotate anything else i tried so far.
Got an error 2 after few rotates

- Make sure you have the .NET Compact Framework v3.5 installed. It will work with 2.0, but can have issues (I've run my tests with 3.5)
Also, there are known issues with the touchflo interface. Normally screen rotation is completely disabled on the diamond to remove any possibilities of program messing up, so it's bound to cause issues i'm afraid. When I ran tests on my device, I didn't come across any errors, although I have completely removed TF3D from my diamond.
Can you try and make the error happen again, and record the steps you took to make it happen, as well as all the information the error window gives you, and i'll try and correct the problem.
Edit 1: Forgot to add that the library cannot retrieve orientation information on some devices with certain roms installed, but that's out of my control i'm afraid. It will affect all programs that rely on the "Sensors" sdk library.
Edit 2: Can you also tell me which roms (OS/Radio) you are using as well, as this will likely be related to the problem in some way (See Edit 1)

As I mentioned in a previous post, Manilla (Touch Flo 3D) is known to cause problems in non-portrait orientations...
The options are in the top of the right softkey menu, there's 3 of them:
Enable Rotation
Enable Sounds
Enable Images
Application is ver similar as gsen in regards to Telus Mobility Diamonds.
Rotation does not work except for within the programs list. Any where else (text messages, ie, etc) absolutely does not work
darn!

Yeah, i'm afraid that's a limitation of the library which has been made availabel to us. It Telus want to go and destroy the ROM/device, then unfortunately we have no control over it. It's like T-Mobile removing 64MB of the RAM when they changed the shell, it's only got 128MB now. I do wish I knew why companies like to bastardise perfectly good phones, then sell them on as if they were the same... It's quite insulting sometimes...

I've disabled TouchFlo 3D on my device, so unfortunately I can't get the window title/class for it, to add it to the blacklist. If you would be kind enough to find the class for it (i'm guessing the entire today screen) then it can be added to the configuration file for all to see.
I've added the "Applications.ini" file to my server for folk to download. this will be updated more frequently than the application, so keep an eye out for changes
I don't think it likes my Touch Pro. It works fine using File Explorer but that's it. After trying to test it out in the all settings and all programs menus it gives the error that Levka posted.

[October 18] TouchFLO 2D dialer VGA development thread [Test 6][canceled for now]

As some of you know I've made several dialpad skins, though lately more and more people buy a device like the Touch Diamond or Pro wich features a VGA screen. My QVGA skins/dialer won't work on VGA devices so the next thing was inevitable, people wanted the dialer in VGA.
The problem with that is that I currently don't own a VGA device thus making testing hard/impossible for me to do. That's why I need the community, yes I need YOU! for the U.S. Army xD
That means I wan't you to test out if the graphics are looking nice and if there are any glitches. I am not able to help with technical problems only graphical, sorry for that.
fards here from xda just donated his old HTC Universal to me so next week I hope I'm able to test some VGA! thanks fards!
In this thread I will keep you posted about updates through this code field, it will indicate what is included in the current test version. I'll also keep a small changelog.
what's in the current version:
Code:
| Portrait | Landscape
Main Dialpad | done |
Incoming | done |
Outgoing | done |
Videocalling | |
History | |
Save to Contacts | done |
-->latest version<--
Version tracker:
Test 6: redesigned the main dialpad, added some missing icons in the progress screen (conference and swap), skinned the save to contacts dialog and added default pictures for people without a contact picture.
If someone is able to give me some screenshots of the videocalling screen I can start skinning that! Please supply them to me in a good quality (mymobiler -> save screen as bmp)
as usual feel free to:

oh yeah, please leave me a note before placing my work on your blog or web/warez site!
Is this coming to QVGA? I know this is VGA thread. I just like the new look and incomig call notice. BOO
its already on QVGA. although not the exact same.
@paul:
I know you said you cannot help with any technical problems, I want to ask if these .cabs are just replacing the dialer images or more?
This is because there are indeed technical issues regarding Test5 which caused me to uninstall. But if these .cabs are only replacing the dialer images then I could pin point whats the problem more easily.
Note to others, just want to know if anybody else are having the same issues.
-After installing dialer, flip to mute isn't working.
-After receiving/making phone calls the dialer stays open
- last dialed number randomly pops open on the dialer at times.
THanks for you hard work PAUL!

I second that. Although I like the dialer better on the QVGA version that's already out, the incoming caller ID screen is VERY SEXY
another bug found. Think it should be classed as a Graphical bug because test5 was fine.
anyways when the dialer is summoned, the bottom central SIP graphic is garbled and messy. nothing like what your demo above shows.
But either way its a very good dialer!
EDIT::
fixed with a softie.
Strange because i soft reset after installing the dialer.
So 2x Softies if you have similar to what i wrote above
THanks again!

Heads up!
What does that cab do john?
Anyway what I wanted to announce is that I won't continue skinning the VGA version until I have my own VGA device. It's just too much of a hassle to let you test it for me. Fards has sent me his old universal by mail yesterday and I expect it to be in my hands around monday or tuesday, so then I will continue skinning for VGA.
I could do a port to qvga and release V1.1 of the qvga version so I'll might do that in the meantime.
No updates today, I have to work and my girlfriend just got home from holiday so I'm out tonight.
Thanks,
Paul
ps: When I have my own device I will look for a better Touch Diamond dialer. The one I'm currently using isn't bugfree. So If you want something to do just find a good working cab. (one without the keyboard bug and with videocall in the main dialpad instead of contacts) If you find that, it would be just great!
On the scr ... the dialing and open keyboard - small bug...
as before can you take a look to that?
That looks really sexy =) Oh, one question though is this for Tf2D or can I use this with the default tf3d, too ?
Thanks an advance ^__^
The dialer skin is independant of TF3D so yes, it can work. It's called TF2D probably cos the look and feel is inspired by TF2D.
any plans of updating the qvga theme similar to this one? this looks really nice.

Wow Paul, this looks amazing. How did you get the incoming call screen? Am I right that the QVGA version does not have the incoming caller function? Looking forward to a QVGA port of this version! Thank you.
nice neat and clean. but I think it is consuming too much RAM on my device (Eten X800). I tried uninstalling it but it wont. When I uninstall it waits quite a while and says "some parts weren't removed do you want to remove from prog list" ... .. when I soft reset it is still there.
any advice ?
Looks super-cool, However:
Once installed it resets my batty-monitor back to the original one. cant seem to get rid of that one. .
De rest of the thing is a bit.. unstable. But i am sure this wil soon be fixxed.
Keep up the good work!
(htc-touch-pro, custom rom)
Im thinking of change manila dialer because of memory consumption near 10MB so how about your child how much memory it will cost??? thx anyway looks great perfect to my new diamond look
Yes finally a VGA dialer for the HTC Touch Diamond I'll test it right now,THANKS
3 hours later well this is what happened i installed this new dialer pretty cool but the 3G,H,Edge icon's changed when i installed this dialer?
any news? on that

Diamondish WM Dialer

For those that don't like cooking in the Heavier Diamond Dialer with Video Calling.
Because all that extra fluf isn't needed.
Here's the first version of the Official Windows Mobile Dialer with a Diamondish Sauce.
Easy skin but still needs a few Touch Ups.
Who knows someone Will make a few new skins for the default WM dialer.
When i have finished of the small details in the skin (Quickdial, red button, and White line in the top of the background).
I will post a cab that will disabled the default Diamond dialer (freeing up a few MB of memory).
How to use for now.
Cook or..... Copy over the Graphics to Windows folder using Good File browser on Mobile like Total Commander. Then using Advanced Config change to default WM dialer and reboot.
Take a note of Memory usage before and after change to convince yourself.
Update: Fixed last Details in Skin.
Update: Added the Cab file and i can say you can gain at least 3 MB of extra memory. (not the most correct count as i'm taking out the HTC Diamond dialer completely)
Update: Dutch Sephiroth has made a WVGA skin working on the Touch HD.
It can be found in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3934313&postcount=14

Very simple Skin using Diamond Log in Dialer colours and buttons, but a little more lightweight even compared to official WM dialer.
Stil need to kill a few pixels in green call button and the Pin input right side background needs to be darker.
The cab doesn't add anything extra that isn't already in the default dialer.
But it just disables the HTC one from starting up.
I made this Dialer for myself as i like lightweight clean roms, and figured there might be others that hold that idea to.
The choice for me is simple, why waste memory on a fancy dialer that does the same thing as the normal on,... call people. I'm so used to WM that all the new extra added pop ups and big buttons don't necessarily feel as improvements. Waste of Space and Memory, so it's a personal opinion for me. So maybe when Videocalling is actually used on a broad scale by my friends and family i won't need it.
And it's a very easy dialer to skin.
Hi Noonski,
First of all can you post some screenshots please.
2ndly is this gonna solve the ringer delay problem? as I am not using anymore of the default dialer because of the ringer delay problem as I don't want to loose 3-4 rings before I get notified, but on the other side I want to keep a Fancy & Decent looking dialer as well, do you think your dialer will fix this issue? I had to also uninstall the HTC volume control to contoll the dialer volume with another VGA dialer.
Please advice

i bet winmo default dialer will not have ring delay prob if u don't have it with HTC dialer
and yeah, a screenshot would be nice
a little screenshot would be great. i like the idea.

Anyone that wants to add their versions of the Default VGA WM dialer Be My Guest. My prediction is that more power users will switch over if there where more.
Great Skin!!
Does the bluetooth indicator work with this dialer? As when I switch to the standard WM dialer the bluetooth doesn't show, or is there a fix for this?

The Bluetooth icon is indeed part of the HTC Dialer that starts these extra icons in status bar.
Just seen this thread, nice skin! I've added a link to this thread in my WM dialers thread, also a solution to the Bluetooth icon issue.
I've had a look at your cab and there seem to be some extra files that aren't in most WM dialer skins... do you know if they are necessary?
Let me take a look BRB.
Couldn't see which files are extra these where all directly taken from the original VGA dialer i found in Diamond Roms.
Didn't know about your thread, so sorry and thanks.
I extracted and re used the graphics from the original HTC Log IN Dialer.
Just curious, but is a white/black skin in the works?
Is there a WVGA version for this skin available? I copied the files in the zip to my Windows folder but it looks all screwed up at the bottom. I can see my wallpaper there while the rest of the screen is correct. The colors look really nice though so a WVGA skin would be awesome . I am using a Dutch Touch HD with stock rom.
I figured i should stop being lazy and just make a WVGA skin myself So i did, i used you original files Noonski but i resized everything for a WVGA screen.
Here it is, the Diamondish WM Dialer for WVGA devices, thank you Noonski for the original skin.
I use this on my Touch HD and its perfect.

There is another thread somehwhere on the forum that picks up from this type of dialer which collects different skins.
I don't know if every skin there uses the max compression on the files.
(PNG 8 bit with Exact or adaptive coluors and the same for the GIF files)
I like the skin but as a newbie some additional questions:
1. How do I install, do I need the zip-file and the cab-file?
2. Can I switch back to the original dialer if I don't like it?
The Cab should restore the original settings.
You only need the Cab.
The Zip file is for those that would like to Change the skin themselves.
new pure black skin
that was really nice and I have edited your files to make a new skin for myself i thought i should share it in here
just unzip the attached file and copy contents to windows folder on your WVGA device using resco or total commander and enjoy it ... its the lightest skin I ever used and looks NICE
???
anyone know what is the original name of these pictures in windows folder ?? cause i have placed them there but its not changed in call history
clg_miss
clg_out
clg_in
non of them working
another one
here is another one tell me if you are interested and i can post the zip ...

Adderz Theme Sets: M2Ds, Comm Managers, Video Dialers, Splashs *SIP BETA RELEASED*

Hey Guys
Well ive been lurking around these boards for over a year now. I thought i should gather up all the things ive either skinned myself or found.
Ive never been *truly* happy with my device, or Windows Mobile, and so over time ive put together some M2D themes and Comm Managers and now im trying my hand at making a Dialer and its turning out pretty good (i think).
My aim is/was to unify my device and make the interface look better.

Make sure to use the very latest M2DC otherwise i think the clocks might be a bit off.

Video Dialers
Well i found this video dialer and decided to skin it. They are up to BETA 4 which means the primary and secondary screens are both skinned but there are still little bits a bobs that need to be done, but its 95% complete. If you have another dialer installed, uninstall that one first then install this one.

KEYBOARD SKINS
Beta 1
This is only a skin for the Keyboard, not the full qwerty or any of the others. The others deal with the letters differently, so its going to be harder to skin, same with the symbol page. So they have NOT been skinned. This skin is for WWE only.
Ok this one requires a bit more effort to install. First you need to make SURE you have this keyboard below ALREADY installed:
If you do, you can now download the files, unzip them, and copy them all to the Windows folder, overwriting the original files. You will need to use Resco File Explorer, Total Commander or a Windows PC to copy them. File Explorer does not work.
Then you soft reset your phone and you should have the new skin installed.

Splash Screens
Here is one i found, i didnt do anything to it, im just uploading it again because its so great and fits in with our Touch Cruises so well. When i get a chance i want to work out how to turn the white bits red and lime and blue etc to match the M2D themes above. I tried "replace Colour" with photoshop but it just gave me a horrible pixelated mess.
Polaris Flower Startup Screen
Now the following to screens replace the second or third screens you see when you boot your device. I cant remember which one exactly. These match the "Red" and "Lime" themes up above. These also wernt done by me but im uploading them again because i think they fit in perfectly.
Simply rename them welcomehead.96 then disable touchflo, copy them to the Windows folder, then re-enable Touch flo! You may need to use TotalCommander to copy it over if File Explorer wont let you.

S2U2 GFX
Well here is another Beta, this time for S2u2 graphics. I might redo the clock because that look is a bit dated. Or maybe i might redo the clock in the M2D theme to match this one..hmm..decisions...
Anyway here are the files, just copy the gfx folder into your S2U2 folder, overwriting the old gfx folder. It has been tried and tested on S2U2 Version 2.01
Dont know if ive skinned all the files but most of them are done.
S2U2 2.01 gfx
great effort mate - thanks for sharing
GREAT!
Thank you!
*wipes brow* just finished redoing all the buttons for the Lime Dialer. Its quite striking to say the least. Its still a beta though, with the secondary screen still having the normal buttons but 80% of it is done.
Thank you for your Comm Manager, anybody there can guide me to get 3G to GSM button instead of data connection button. My problem is, i am using 3D setting SIM card when i set to 2G postpaid, 3G celcom still appear at today screen. TQ
Well ive added a Red Comm Manager. Its a beta because when you select something the highlighter doesnt go away. Everything works but if you select more than one thing it just looks a little odd...i might have to switch to a different comm manager to fix the issue..hmmm
To change the options in the Comm Manager use "Advanced Config". Open it > Menu > More Settings > Comm Manager >
EDIT: Well ive been fiddling with the registry settings today and i have found where to change the text on the secondary screen in the dialers, but ive tried two colours and they both turned out blue (wtf?). Ill have to read up on my hexadecimals
EDIT: I did it! I managed to get the text to black. Its a slightly brighter red than the dialer because i dont know how broad the colour range is. Ill upload soon.
EDIT: Well im now uploading Beta 4 of the Dialer. Ive skinned the buttons on the secondary screen when you press down on them. They are now white instead of black to match the other buttons. Ive also moved the red bar down a few pixels so the Mobile Carrier fits on the grey space and doesnt hang over.
EDIT: Im going to try skinning a SIP now. In the same Red and Lime (and black). I dont know how its going to turn out. It might be too difficult to see in all but the perfect conditions. But we will see how it goes....Ill post up some screenshots of the Alphas if i have any luck doing it.
EDIT: Ive updated the Lime Dialer to the new secondary screen. So now they are both 95% skinned. It seems you cant finely tune the colours for the text. Perhaps they only have a 256 colour palette? Im going to leave them how they are for now, while i try fixing the Comm Manager issue. The SIP might take a bit longer than expected. I have crappy wireless internet at the moment and downloading anything is a major pain.
EDIT: *Sigh* why must everythg be so difficult. I tried skinning the default HTC keyboard and all was going well until i loaded it on my Polaris. It doesnt change any graphics, even though i loaded a cab on with the new ones. It leads me to suspect that the CAB is not overwriting the existing files, but simply creating a copy...thus not getting used. I need to work out how to delete the original keyboard files so the only ones in use are the ones i install with the cab. ARGH!
Well after 2 hours of tinkering ive finally worked out how to make skins for the HTC Keyboard.
Im going to do the keypad layout first as its the easiest to do lol
Ok im uploading the 12 button keyboard skin.
Please take note of the following:
This is for the 12 button keyboard ONLY, all other symbol screens and other keyboards have not been skinned yet.
To install it you will need to use Resco Explorer or Total Commander.
Please make sure you already have the keyboard installed, these are the skin files only, not the keyboard itself.
This skin is for English countries only
To uninstall you will need to copy the original files back over, if anyone needs them i will upload them, just send me a message.
EDIT: Im going to try skinning S2U2 now...what else do people want skinned???

Debranding Dutch T-Mobile MDA Vario 5

I am very satisfied with my MDA Vario V (T-Mobile' s implementation of the HTC Touch Pro2). However I don't like the typical T-mobile layout with the pink colors. In my search for the standard HTC layout I found a well working CAB-file. Unfortunately installation of that file slowed down my MDA significantly. No wonder because that CAB-file installs 2200 Manila-files in the Windows directory.
Although I'm not a specialist, by replacing less than 90 files I achieved (virtually) the same result , without any noticeable speed loss. I have added the required files in this zip-file:
http://members.casema.nl/fenpzwarts/UnbrandingTmobile.zip
The manila files in the folder "Achtergrond" stand for the original black background.
The manila files in the folder "Green accenten" replace all pink colors by the HTC green colors.
The files in the folder "Klok" are responsible for the standard white flip-over clock and the standard HTC layout in the home tab.
The files in the folder "Schuifbalk" take care of the standard HTC slider bar with the standard HTC icons.
The " HTC Black.tsk", if selected, changes the title bar and menu bar from grey to black.

}
HOW TO: While using Total Commander or Resco Explorer copy the required files into the folder "Windows" in the internal memory. Ignore the warning that ROM files are being overwritten. Restart the MDA afterwards (soft reset).
If not satisfied: remove the same files from the "Windows" folder and restart the MDA.
Some observations:
- I have not taken the effort to adapt the T-Mobile TV-tab.
- If there are still loose ends I will try to fix them. However don't expect any miracles.
- With exeption of some minor adaptations I am not the author of these files. For this reason some specialists on this forum deserve the credits.
Update 26/07/2009:
Additionally I created a light theme of the T-Mobile branded TouchFlo3D:
- Standard HTC sliderbar
- Homescreen: Change layout and appointment fonts
Download:
Copy to Windows folder
HTC Black theme
Instructions:
1. Disable TouchFlo3D.
2. Just copy the 36 files in the Windows folder using Total Commander or Resco Explorer.
3. Copy the black HTC theme to the Windows directory and activate the theme.
4. Soft reset.
5. Enable TouchFlo3D.
See above to change the pink accents to green.
hi, had a question about the dutch mda vario v (tp2), maybe someone knows the answer.
With my old Mda vario (htc wizard) it was possible to stop the t-mobile customization (software branding) by soft-reseting the device right after you turn it on for the first time, when the countdown to the customization appears on screen.
Anyone know if this is this also possible on the vario V?
Hi. Do you know if these files can be used in the same way to debrand the vodafone theme?

NO!!!! Don't do it
oh Thank god i asked! cudve made a grave mistake!
Thanks Stunno! Any ideas on whats the best way to get rid of this god awful theme?
I used this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3953357&postcount=4
which I posted about in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=528713
Once this is in and working, be aware that it takes AGES to install and DO NOT let your screen power down while it is doing the installation, I can then install other themes that do not use CFC compression for the files - I have the 'Touch of Blue' one on at the moment
You will read in the thread that I posted that I had to hard reset my phone after installing the black theme. This is correct but I traced the fault to CFC compression that I had installed before the black theme. Since the hard reset it has worked perfectly, well, until I tried the Dutch Tmobile debranding files and lost my clock! There must be some major differences between the TM rom and the VF one
Sorry to hijack the thread
mate you are a legend! it worked like a charm! Cheers!
Thanks. Works great. One minor issue though. The green notification bubble in the mail and sms page is way to big compared to my previous T-Mobile one.
Not a problem. I just noticed it.

Replacing 36eabe92_manila in the Windows directory with this file should solve the issue.

I found one problem: the menu isn't shown correct in the landscape mode. the menu is already shown while writing a sms by using the "contact interface". it isn't minimized (also when you use the homescreen the menu first is shown. when you tab next to the menu somewhere on the display it minimize itself how it should be from the beginning).

It didn't work for me.
Does anybody know how to activate the internet-tab without installing the full 2200+ manila package? T-Mobile has a, in my opinion a useless, widget page. I like to have the default internet-tab with Opera bookmarks and search-field.

same problem here... i did not found to get a tab for the internet working. without this the device is nearly useless... can't imagine why t-mob has killed this tab and changed it with their widged manager...
I had to perform a hard reset, but this debranding trick doesn't work properly anymore. De sliding button, on the bottom slider, is misshaped.
