[TRICK]Look: how to change softkeys in TFLO! - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Hey.
Here is the way to change the homekeys IN TFLO 3D.
In a registry editor, go to:
HKLM/Software/HTC/manila/
Here is:
HomeLSKPath, which is the left softkey (Standard = Phonepad)
And
HomeRSKPath, which is the right softkey.
If you change these with the location of the programs you want to link to, and simultaneous change the names:
HomeLSKText = Left softkey text
And
HomeRSKText = Right softkey text.
Changing the boot picture/sound:
HKLM/Software/HTC/HTCAnimation (startup animation)
and
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Splash Screen (The green WM 6.1 logo)

No problemo

Nice tip - thanks.
Changed Phone to Camera as I find it a pain in the ass to get the camera up and running quickly! Who needs Phone - as pressing the Call key does the same thing.

Nice thought! I was thinking the same as well, or the other alternative is to activate/deactivate Bluetooth but does anybody know the string to Enable Bluetooth?
Thanks in advance!

Just wondering - why use registry when you have that option in Preferences?

"Changing the boot picture/sound:

So i tried it i just changed the path to another image (jpg) in the internal storage. I got a blank screen.
So does the image you choose have to been in the device?
Does it have to be .png?
If so whats the file path to the device.
Thanks very much or maybe im doing it all wrong you tell me please.
Cheers! thanks!

\Windows\CommManager.exe brings up the Comm Manager, IMO even more useful.
I would love to see configuration of long press of other keys than End Call, though.

I did nothing there. I`ve searched everywhere
Ignore this. I take it Sry means "sorry" not wrongly typed "Try". If you know what I`m going on about.

Please teach me dude how do you make it to boot your own image. Ive changed the image path but still nothing.
Thanks!

Hi.
I have changed the text on the right button. I want the right button to "link" to my contacts, but I cannot find out what the contacts are called on the Diamond?

Yo dude. I just checked it out.
Try: Start>settings>buttons
However, there is only 1 button that you can set (or maybe that what i know),
from the drop down menu, choose "camera". Viola!
Thru trial and error, i found out that the Button 1 is actually the call button.
Which means: press it once to go into phone mode, long press (hold) to activate camera. Hope that helps.

Yeah sussed that out thanks. I was really looking to be able to just have a quick button press that turns bluetooth on and off just like my Nokia N80 does. I found it very handy

Thanks guys
EDIT - however, when i make the change using PHM Regedit.. it changes the label of the soft key but not the functionality.
...and after a soft reboot it changes the label back too :S
Any ideas?
just tried it, it's great!
don't do a soft reset, switch the phone off with the power button.

Thats correct, but you can't point that to specific exe's though. There's only a list of apps to choose from.

It has smartskey installed. That is y it is behaving like this.
This is the function of smartskey, you can remove this setting by editting the smartskey.ini you'll get it in windows folder.

You really should use smartskey, makes the wizard easily 1 hand operable. (if you hold down the right softkey it clicks the top right corner (usually X or OK), or u can hold the left softkey and it clicks the Start) And it was installed in the WM6.0 cooked rom by faria.

Settings-Private-Keys (Need Help With this Section)

Sorry To start a New Thread! I have searched and i have tried.. But i Failed
I need to bind the Home buttom key to an App ..and cant fix that
I have tried making the shourtcut for the App in Windows/ (Long_Home.ink)
But that didnt work..
Now when i try to do it in the Setting- more- Private - Keys (Buttoms)
I only have the Long_Send key there to chose from!
I have already assigend that buttom to the Hard Reset, But how do i add more buttoms there ??
you can't add buttons there, and as you found out long home doesn't work.
search for " ae buttons"
Wich buttons do work then ?
cause the Vol buttoms dosent work either !
I only Need 2 ..
1 for Soft Reset
1 for task Mang
Did a search for ae buttons (101) pages of result ..!
Shouldn't that be "Personal", not "Private"...I came in here expecting a discussion on public key cryptography...
...thread did not deliver.
only the send key can use long_press.lnk as far as i know.

and I wouldn't use the .lnk solution for this either, as that gets triggered if you try to answer a call with the call button, not the on-screen one.
There's a registry edit that achieves the same thing...

Ur both right and wrong !
Several other new members/users might have same problems and learn something from this topic/thread!
Afterall its a Discussition Forum?!
(Sorry for my bad English)
I have used this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-355141.html
But dosent seem to work with hd2 !
Only Long_Send.ink dose.
Now the funny part is that now that i installed Duttys task Mang, the long send key option from Setting-more-private- keys is gone!

Turn off light with another button?

Does anybody know if it's possible to turn off the phonelight with the button to the right?
You usually use the on-button on the top of the phone but I think it would've been easier to use the button you hang up a conversation with. (just as you are with HTC HD2).
Hoping on a .cab or a positive answer

Yes, that is the TD2 Tool to install.
Then install the enclosed Kbd controll program. Its pretty intuitive, just keep short press as default and set your long or double press to Boot manager.
or..... you can use SSMaHo to map a shortcut from manila home screen.
As far as instructions, you'll have to read as it is too hard to explain in brief.
One thing you will find is that the left soft key is locked for editing in most ROMs.
You can also set it to a softkey in the registry in HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila;
LSK, RSK (left and right soft key path and text)

[Q] Program buttons?!?

Hey guys..does anyone know what the program buttons do ?i tried to map some programs to it and nothing...
I'm sorry I don't understand your question, which program buttons do you mean? The ones on the home screen or otherwise?
Probably the personalised buttons. Which is not available in HD mini.
yeah i thought so too, reminded that this was working on my old p3600 and i could asign actions for those buttons, btw does the endkey replacement working for u?
The end key long press that brings up the quick list works fine.
not the original one..i mean the endkey replacement v 4.5,or if u can tell me pls if u know a way to replace the long press endkey with a programs tab.
