Help No Service after rom upgrade - Touch Cruise ROM Development

I have loaded "udK_Diamond-R3_Polaris_WWE" on to an "o2 Orbit2" using the spl file first then uploaded the firmware only to go through the process and get no service either automatically or manual. Please can eveyone help as it is just an expensive paperweight now. many thanks.

So did the flash went OK? did you do a hard reset after flash?

Does your device not start up or do you just miss GSM signal?
In the latter case try flashing Murata radio.

Go to settings>connection>connection set-up and select your provider then soft reset. Check also Connection Manger, your phone connection might have been switched off.

You should have read the instructions before trying the upgrade. ROM upgrade goes first, then the radio stack. I don't know if there's something you can do yourself to fix your device, or if you need to have it reflashed by your supplier. Anyone else?

Hi,
Seems like you are another of the many victims who got problems
after trying to upgrading new ROM & Raidio stack. Hope you still
got that warrant and get it replaced with a new one. Otherwise
you might have to try what some crazy guys do here trying to fix
it by doing all sort of bootloader etc.. Hope those who are trying
to get the upgrade ROM and Radio stack be very careful and make
sure your device are from the same supplier or distributor where
you got the new upgrade. Otherwise it will be screwed. Dont learn
your lesson the hard way.
same problem here.
i've got the O2 NL XDA
downloaded the 3.15 and radio updates from O2 NL website
installed updates as per instructions
1st update went without a hitch
2nd update totally screwed my xda.
now it takes a long time to start up, and when it does it just displays a white screen with a blue taskbar.
tried the bootloader way of flashing the rom, but still no luck
luckily I can send it back in to O2 to have it fixed.
I may try to do it by backup up another XDA, and reflashing mine.
Same prob with me..
I've got exactly the same problem. I downloaded the Rom update 3.15 and the new radio update. First I installed teh Rom update and after a hard reset I "installed" the radio update.
While updating the XDA hang and I waited for about ten minutes to see if the XDA was really hanging. I gave the XDA a hard reset but then the XDA didn't work anymore (white screen and blue bar on top).
I can still access the bootloader. I installed a Rom from a XDA which still works. Still no difference. When I tried to write the Radio rom to a sd-card I got that message that I have to connect one or another RS cable.
The XDA still doesn't work anymore. I have contacted O2 but they told me that they couldn't help me because they can't find my IMEI number in their system. I contacted the company where we ordered all the XDA's but I still don't have an answer.
Thank you O2 for being so nice with not helping me out with my one week old XDA without any scratch. I hope my XDA could be replaced as soon as possible since the XDA will not sold anymore when O2 changes to Telfort !
If you can make the ROM update work, you should be able to install the corresponding radio as well.
Try this:
1. Make sure you have the latest version of ActiveSync (=3.6)
2. Make sure the battery is fully loaded.
3. Extract the ROM update and Radio update to different folders.
3. Connect the cradle to AC-adapter and computer.
4. Put the device in the cradle and make sure it connects to ActiveSync.
5. Run the ROM installation application. Should take 5-6 minutes.
6. Run the radio installation. IMPORTANT: When you are prompted to remove power supply, pull the power plug from the cradle. If you do not disconnect power, the update will fail. I think this update took a little more time than the ROM update, and the device may seem "dead" for a while.
Good luck!
Hy Guys.
Are there any news about the problem flashing the XDA?
Tried last night to update my XDA to the last Qtek-Versions (ROM 3.16.52.....)
ROM Update works fine, but after the RSU Update the phone didn't work any more.
Have the same white screen with the blue taskbar and the little keyboardicaon down the right side.
Entering Bootloader mode there comes the Error Message "GSM Error"
Nice screen is the qtek "Booting Screen".
It shows
G <empty>
R <empty>
3.16.52
Hope there are any other hints to resolv this problem.
Have anyone got some experiences with sending it back to O2 with an "unoffical" Softwareversion?
Or is there any posibility to change the ROM Version to an old (original) O2-RomVErsion?
Thanks for any help....
Regards
Stefan
Hi Stefan,
I would suggest to try upgrade you device with any XDA ROM version by bootloader's CE to SD backup/restore and after try again to upgrade RUU by PC.
I know that upgrading/degrading by bootloader is the more safety way to do it.

Riccardo

SD-Card Writer just orderd
But I don´t know if it will work. Since the Bootloader says GSM Error, I think there will be no other posibility to restore it.
Let´s wait for some days, hope and we will see.....

Someone HELP Protocol None Radio None

Hi all:
I recently started having problems with my Jasjam and yesterday after flashing it with Hermes MRH4.5.1 it stopped working altogether. When i look at device information it gives me Protocol none and Radio None. I am also unable to charge and/or connect it to the PC with USB cable.
Before the flashing it used to lose the signal. It also used to lose my email settings.
Can anyone please help. I would really appreciate it.
Regards,
Try to reflash back to a stock rom using sd card method. Don't tell me you dont have hard spl installed cos thats just nutty...
If not go to the upgrades section and find the thread "Hard SPL... or how not to brick your phone", find page 116 and use the sd method to HARD SPL YOUR PHONE....
Use pretty much the same method to upgrade to stock rom then if that works, flash whatever you want...
This may or may not work as there are a growing number of people out there who loose their radio and CANT RECOVER.
Hope you will be lucky... Cheers...
I have a hard SPL. I tried to do what you said with the original JASJAM image but got stuck in the third step (GSM). The mobile just hung there and didn't continue....any help?
Thanx
Sorry, it sounds like you may have a true brick, you should be able to flash a cooked rom on though to use as a PDA. Try a search on the forum for "no GSM" and see what others are suggesting as there is probably nothng more you can do to your radio to destroy it. Bad luck .
As I said though DO try a non radio os as you can still get all your information off and use it as a PDA. Get some use out of it.
Cheers....

[Q]Lost my Rogers data conn while upgrading to Blue Elves ROM V5.0 (Build 19521)

I've just recently upgraded my Rogers HTC Touch and it works great!
That being said, as soon as I tried to do some web surfing it would not connect to the Rogers network.
The phone works and the messaging works but surf is gone since I've changed ROM's.
Can anyone help my situation?
I really don't want to go back to the original Roger's Rom.
Thanks!
Rogers GPRS/Edge
1. Start ->Settings -> Connections -> Connections
2. Choose (Add a new modem connection)
2. Enter the following settings:
* Name: Rogers Edge (or whatever you like)
* Select a Modem: Choose 'Cellular Line (GPRS)'
* APN: internet.com
* Username: wapuser1
* Password: wap
* Domain: (just leave it blank)
Thanks Mr. Ding for replying!
I tried you method and it's still not working 100%
The new comm. manager still doesn't connect properly.
Sometimes the connection works and sometimes it doesn't.
It's not consistent?
I can't call rogers and ask for help since I've changed the ROM eh?

Check and see if (Data Connection) is enabled inside Comm Manager.
If disabled, you will see and antenna beside the signal bar.
If enabled, you will see 'E' beside the signal bar.
To get the 'E' connection back, just try to sync the weather, and the network connection will try to connect the network connection you have setup.
I named mine 'Rogers Edge', with modem 'Cellular (GPRS)' selected, in case you want to confirm your setting.
.cab file for Rogers internet and MMS
If you want you can give this a try, I picked this up from someone on this site, not sure who, so I cannot give credit where credit is due...
But basically a .cab that will set your Rogers Internet and Rogers MMS settings... Hope it can help someone...

How did you brick it?
It wasnt me..Think they try Elf USPL........
If you still have Elf USPL you can still try to flash Elfin USPL from the bootloader. Give it a shot. Then flash a real Elfin ROM.
You mean, I should try the same uspl one more time?

No.. read my message carefully. Elf USPL is not the same as Elfin USPL.

What do you mean it's broken? If you are at the tri-colour screen then you are at the bootloader. You can then try installing the Elfin USPL from there. You just need to run the Rom Update Utility.
Tried many times different USPLs and ROMs.90% says "Image corrupted"

Did you make sure you removed the memory card and sim card?
Try flashing only Elfin USPL, don't try to flash other ROMs until that one is successful.
Ok,I will try!
But what else can be the reason, what do You think?

do you have a copy of your rogers rom that I can get from you. I downloaded a rom from here and it left my hct touch stuck in bootloader mode and cannot recover without an original rom.

It's the new radio that causes your problem. Once and a whle it disconnects your data connection and you have to do either a soft reset or you have to disable and enable data connection in Comm Manager. The only way, alas, to get rid of this problem is to perform a hard reset and AFTER that reflash your phone with the HTC's 1.48 ROM (or wait for a short while and flash it with the forthcomming 1.66 ROM). Hope this helps.

Hi mate,
Thanks for the info, I have never changed the rom but will give it a try.
Have downloaded RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.0 7U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe, is this correct one for UK?
I have one question, do I leave sim and memory card in phone or take them out?
I have a stock unbranded HD2.
Thanks for help
Keith

Problem Flashing ROM

Hi, I have just flashed my handset with: RUU_Leo_Dopod_CHS_1.70.706.0_Radio_CRC_Signed_15.3 2.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship.exe
I now get the message 'your OS ROM isn't customized for your hardware.
Please reflash the proper ROM Code or contact the service centre.'
I'm trying to reflash RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.0 ¶
7U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe, but it fails to communicate with the device.
Any ideas how I can fix this?
Thanks
Try downloading the relevant radio version from this link (note that download only contains the .nbh file):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
Then download the CustomRUU.exe file from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4798017&postcount=1
Put both files in the same folder and run the CustomRUU.exe file and it should hopefully work.

Okay, tried that and it's exactly the same - gets to the stage 'verifying data on your pda' then gets connection error as it hasn't been able to connect through mobile device centre

Have you checked your HSPL version? there must be SPL 1.42.0000 on your device otherwise the installation will fail.
To check your SPL version, hold the Volume Down button and do a reset. It is possible to downgrade to this SPL, by just flashing to an Official ROM with this SPL version.

Well I had hspl on there from this site. I was changing ROMS this morning as I wasn't massively impressed with the custom one I flashed it with. It wont let me flash with any ROM as the Update Utility Cannot connect to the phone.

Try take the battery out for about 2 minutes and then power it back on.
From the troubleshooting notes section found via this link, it stated the following:
"Your OS ROM isn't customized for your hardware. Please reflash the proper ROM code or contact the service center", !!! Problem NOT related to HSPL !!! ... this means that you flashed a region protected rom... flash any other rom that has your region ID... or patch it

Had no joy with that either! Will try to flash from SD Card- hopefully that'll do it!
As far as I understand the issue, it is not the ROMs that are region protected, so that is not what is causing the problem. I believe the problem is that some phones (like yours) have encoded firmware that possibly restricts the type of ROMs that can be installed? So, some people can only install ROMs that are designed for their region.
Flashing from SD Card seems to be doing the trick nicely. Phew.
