Where to start? Newb help. - Wing, P4350 General

I have began having an interest in modifying my tmobile wing. However; there is so much that is possible, i have no idea where to began. I am interesting in the touch-it rom, but scared at bricking my phone. Also, have read about the pagepool tweaks. Where should i start? Some help would be great. To whomever responds, Thank you.
T-mobile Wing - Stock - SPB Pocket Plus - If you need any other Info please let me know. Thanks.

i was afraid of flashing too but did it two days ago and it's a very simple process that will not damage your phone at all.
however, i got open touch 5.2 original and hated it so went back to the stock rom.
if someone can point me to a ROM with zero problems and is as close to the stock ROM as possible please let me know.

Let me start by welcoming you to the boards. First and foremost, although i'm sure you already have done this, go read this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327046
It has a lot of information about modifying your phone. As far as what rom to go with? Your going to have to make that decision on your own. Personally, i like open touch and touch it, but there are a lot of other good roms to choose from. Just read around and you'll see. Each rom has its own quirks, and none of them are going to be exactly what you want to the T, but that is because these guys cooking the roms take a lot of time to build them for us, and special orders would be just to much.
Welcome and good luck modding!
P.S. Flashing is easy, so is unbricking, just make sure if you try to go hard-spl that your phone is compatible before you do it. Main way to actually brick these things. Also read as much as possible before you start.

Maybe you should go with HTC Home. That's what I did cause I didn't want to flash or anything either. I didn't wanna ruin an expensive phone. And after all, it IS a phone. It's main purpose is for being able to call / receive calls. But yeah, HTC Home is nice. Here's what my phone looks like as of now:

Once you get HTC Home, you can get HTC Home Customizer. It lets you customize your phone even more. As far as programs (.cabs) you can use, there's alot. I use quite a few myself. I use..
Slide2Unlock. It's from the iPhone I believe. It acts like a screen saver for your phone. You can lock your phone if you want to, but using this is just as easy. It's kind of cool, but not a must have.
JiveTalk. I use this as my Instant Messaging program. I used to use Palringo (and technically still do), but Jive Talk seems better to me.
pcShutXP. This cool little tool basically lets you Soft Reset or Shut Down your phone. It's nice to have and use after you install something and you have to restart.
Total Commander. This is a registry editor program. You don't need this unless you plan on doing any registry editing basically. It's definitely useful though. You get to see everything on your phone.
Battery Status. This program shows the status of your battery on your home screen. It also lets you overclock your phone. It's great.
Large Start Menu. This makes the start menu bigger. It's definitely nice to have. Especially if you use your finger.
Soft Key. This lets you change your soft keys on your phone. Those are the buttons on the bottom of your today screen.
iPhone Calulator. Pretty obvious one, lol. The regular calculator is ugly.
TodayAgenda. This one is nice. It's for your appointments/tasks. It creates a scroll bar on your today screen so if you have a bunch, it doesn't take up alot of space. You can change alot of things within the program.
Other than that, I have custom wallpapers, ringtones, icons and themes. Use the search feature on the forum and you'll find all this stuff your need. If not, I can help you. Hope this helps.

You must want a new ROM for some reason. Is it bcoz the stock one is too slow? Opinions differ on what is the best for beginners as stated before read read read. But basically almost all the Custom ROMs have their own spice and if it is written on the ROM it can't be replaced easily. Personally I use Just2Clean becoz I want to do my phone from the bottom up and eliminate a bunch of extra unneccessary files.
Basically just absorb as much info as you can and feel free to ask again on anything small or big on this thread that is what a community is for to help no matter how big or small the issue.

I'd start here...

You can flash these ROMs without Hard-SPL. Just follow the instructions for the USPL. It's so easy it's Armyproof. I'm using OpenTouch 4.0 Lite and it's great. It freezes up once every 3 days, unlike the stock ROM which freezes 3 times per day. And since it's not a Hard-SPL, you can go back to the stock T-Mobile ROM whenever you want. (Not like you ever would...) Once you feel comfortable with USPL flashing, Google "radio 3.21.90." it's the newest radio version and it'll boost your signal, with a slight decrease in battery life.

lol? Mine doesn't freeze 3 times per day. It doesn't even freeze at all unless i'm doing a million things at once and I get a call or something. But I should know better anyway.

Well, all I have to say, is there is a TON of information on here. I know I read for about 2 weeks before I decided to Hard spl. There really isn't one rom that is better than others, and the only real way to tell is to try flashing to each of them and see what you like and don't. I've flashed to every rom on here, and prefer the Open touch series. I'm running v 3.0 and have tweaked it so it flies. Just make sure you read a lot. You definitely don't want to end up bricking your phone. Really, Hard spl'ing is where you can have problems with bricking, but as long as you read, you will be fine. I would recommend hard spl though because it makes it a lot easier to flash roms. If you have any questions, just pm me. I know a lot of the terminology was a little confusing at first too.

Remember to visit the link on my sign.......

Thanks
Thanks to all who have replied. Have been digging through the forums even since i posted and doing some reading. Hard-SPL seems the way to go with a slight risk. I am interested in the TouchIT roms, But think i will start small with the ROMS that don't require Hard-SPL (whatever the heck that means!) lol! I will post back my results in just a few days. Don't forget to check back. Thanks guys!

Yeah, the uspl (non hard spl) method is a lot safer, so that's prob your best bet until you feel more comfortable with it. All the open touch series don't require hard spl. I'm not sure about the touch it series though.

Thoughts
okay. After doing some research and digging through the forums, looks like i am going to try the Open Touch 5.0 biggy. However; one thing i don't understand is if something were to go wrong and wanted/needed to go back to orignal settings. What files would i require to flash back to orginal? That information seems to be a little condiluted to find. Any help would be great guys. Thank you.

SSPL possible for Excalibur

) I am wondering if it's possible to run a SSPL on Excalibur like in this thread on the Breeze.
Maybe anyone can shed some light on it...
So far I managed to dump the ROM from my Excalibur and modify it but since the .nbh must be (really) signed it's not possible to flash it back.
Thanx alot for any information
thanx to pof (you're everywhere in this forum ) I have got this information in Excalibur forum:
pof said:
SSPL has an hermes or trinity IPL embedded, that won't work on excalibur. The hermes SSPL works on breeze because breeze & hermes IPLs are quite the same, but compare them with an excalibur IPL and you'll see what i mean.
You can probably replace the resource on the exe with an excalibur IPL, or try to contact Des for help with SSPL.

So if I understand right I "only" would have to replace the Hermes IPL-Data with Excalibur IPL-Data in this SSPL and chances are good that it works.
So the SPL generated in RAM can be the same?
hmm - I will see what I can figure out even though my programming skills are a little bit rusty...
Of course, you must also patch it to bypass nbh signature checks... This was the "Holy Grail" achieved first by Des.
Yes I have read about this - the SSPL.exe generates a (patched) SPL in RAM so far I understand - and this SPL (generating code) can remain the same, am I right?
You need to patch ipl so it doesn`t hang on boot. we didn`t do it with breeze as it is the same as hermes. In spl you need to patch the cid check and nbh check function. Also, it`s omap, not samsung - the addresses are different

OK - I think when I do the wrong patch in IPL and phone hangs on boot it will be nice paper weight...
All in all I believe that's beyond my experience, even though I did some (6502) Assembler programming years ago and also a little bit C and scripts for Unix and DOS.
But this SSPL would do all I need (my phone isn't SIM/Net-locked).
So what about a deal for the experienced guys here:
Instead of paying imei-check for an unlock that is only worth the half of SSPL (because I cannot flash cooked ROMs),
I would pay the 20 Pound (30 Euros/40US$) to that guy who manages to get it running on the Excalibur.
Alternatively (if this guy got the open source spirit and doesn't want to be paid) I would spend the money to this wonderful, great forum itself.
What do you think?

***** OK, I would do the same, so it´s 20 more for motivate the guys. No kidding... ***** Let´s stop being selfish.
i'm willing to pay 10 $ to anyone who's willing to help us out, and if you don't want it, i'm willing to donate it to this forum - i'm sure there's a lot more people who'd be willing to donate.
i've tried with copying RILGSM.DLL from another model of HTC, but doesnt works.. SIM card is accepted fine but can't start phone mode I think we need to crack RILGSM.DLL or trying to downgrade B/L for trying a method posted several weeks (debranding+unlocking)
great, we have two members including me ready. i'm sure there's many more members ready to do this - 40 $ right there - c, mon people - let's help each other out, we all want to upgrade to windows mobile 6, i was this close to paying IMEI when i realized, why pay IMEI when i could help our own community? please help, if noone's willing to do it, tell me how to do it, i'll try - even though i'm unsure but i'm really good with computers, i plan to take networking and telecommunications too - i might be able to do it, i don't know, i'm sure if me and a couple of others can join together and play around - we'll surely get somewhere, it won't hurt to try, i don't mind waiting a bit more to upgrade to wm6, i want to help myself and the others. if every other community can do it, why not us? we have a huge community that uses htc excalibur. so why not support the right cause and get somewhere? look at others, almost all devices have their free sim/cid unlockers then why not us? like i said, i'm willing to donate and help - i'm free at the moment as i'm on vacation from university. just tell me - i'm really interested in getting this done - i don't want to pay IMEI. 38 $ for CID unlocking according to me is steep and that's why many members are holding it off.
i have tried the bootloader method too but it doesn't work - i get the invalid vendor id or something, i forgot but yeah i get an error so yes, my device is CID unlocked, however - it's SIM unlocked by default.
i'm running Windows Mobile 5 on my Htc s621, it's application unlocked and security prompt off, i have access to almost all programs too. i'm familiar with the registry hacks, programs etc. also, i have all the windows mobile 6 roms and i have all resources available too, i'm sure i do.
let's do this, cmon !
p.s: i think it's 3 members incl. me ready to donate !
that's great, i like egosumpaul's attitude, even though he isn't too good at computers - it's the determination to help that speaks.
Update:
Spoke to Rogers - seriously, they are a bunch of idiots, i was sent from tech support to customer service to the data department JUST FOR ONE SIMPLE QUESTION: IS THERE GOING TO BE A WINDOWS MOBILE 6 UPGRADE FOR HTC S621, can you believe i was asked what's htc by one person and another person tells me sir you've had your phone for less then a month, you can't upgrade it, i'm like what are you talking about? i'm talking about a software upgrade, not hardware upgrade, i never said phone upgrade, i said software upgrade - no product knowledge whatsoever.
Spoke to HTC - don't know anything either.
i guess the best bet is to CID unlock our phones + Install the Russian WM6 ROM. i'm serious about my offer, i'm willing to donate + work towards the cause. i've done some programming but that's ok, i'm willing to research and learn, just need to go in the right way, help a brother out. both me and egosumpaul are determined to do this, i need more support - wheres are the donating members and knowledgeable members at? HELP, PLEASE
so it's me - r0p3, egosumpaul ready to donate.
We need this one to be able to flash cooked roms, i myself tried to flash a customized ROM made by me for Excalibur but didn't work. I hope that this would push through, i am willing to help if there's any that i can.
*HINT*
TOUCH SSPL loads up to step #2 on excalibur . Haret started OK but exited leaving Excalibur in BOOTLOADER mode. Just ask Pof what to do next.
it should not be much different to TOUCH.

first off welcome to xda developers!
secondly take some time and read through some of the threads, find out wat suits your needs.
third, android is becoming a big hit as far as upgrading.
Welcome always glad to have a new face
the opinions are endless what you really need to do is start reading any forum that peeks your interest and ask you questions in them we are all willing to give tips but we can't tell you what is going to work for you nor can we do the customization for you
Personally the first thing i would do is unlock the phone and flash a custom 6.1 or 6.5 Rom and then i would make sure you can get GPS if you have a Verizon phone there is a few tricks to getting gps unlocked
after that i would take a good look at the "Android OS" by google and the open hand set alliances its all i ever use and far better then anything by Microsoft, the best part about Android is that it does not effect your windows Mobile system in anyway. in short its like having a duel boot system on a pc
just search around there is a lot of information and fell free to ask question inside of existing forum to get more specific answers
Hey, welcome! First off, it really depends on what carrier you're using. For example, my Verizon vogue came with crippled EV-DO and non-existent GPS. I had to flash my radio before updating to a custom ROM. However, if that's already working for you, a great start would be to put Android on your microSD card and boot it up - it's a huge leap from WinMo!

NFSFAN just released a new WinMo 6.5 rom. I'd give that a shot. There are plenty of tutorials in /Vogue upgrading. I'd also recommend you try Google Ion. It runs from your sdcard so there is no flashing or anything required and it runs quite fast plus you get the android market with tons of free apps.

Hey, so you'll probably be fine if you poke around for tutorials, it's pretty clear once you do you're research. If you feel lost poke around in your settings for the about page, and post what version of WM (6.0 or 6.1) you're running, as well as the radio if you see it.
If you don't see that, check to see if you have GPS location working in google maps. (These will tell you if Verizon has locked you out of GPS and the fastest EV-DO Rev. A data speeds. if you're in WM 6.0, you can unlock, flash a radio, and flash a ROM, if you're running 6.1 you have to do a longer process to circument Verizon's obnoxious policies).
Post that here and me/someone will tell you you're next step .
gotta get rid of today screen
first thing you gotta do imho is to load a new theme. I would start with spb mobile shell 3. That one is free for a couple of weeks. Once you load it you can add a bunch of add ons:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=507697&page=270
Then u gotta add s2u2 and s2p:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=527523
U just getting started. Games, aps, etc... are plentiful. There are a few threads here and on ppcgeeks that have links to many touch software apps. Just do a search and try not to get overwhelmed.

Okay, so if you don't want to flash your ROM the valhalla CAB on the XDA wiki will give you location in google maps, and you already have a good radio (3.37.78, I think, giving you fast download speeds). If you want GPS in android or in other applications, or just want to try out what custom ROMs like NFSFAN's have to offer (speed, stability, features from newer HTC phones), there are tutorials to unlock your GPS. (Like this one, but careful, flashing risks bricking your phone, if you are't reasonably careful!)
Also, if your using Pocket IE, search XDA for Opera Mobile 9.5 in qvga or Skyfire - both are waaaay better.

ok well if you have WM6.1 by Verizon you have some work cut out for you but here are the tutorials i followed to get unlocked gps
What I did 1st was follow the instructions on this page:
http://wiki.ppchaven.com/index.php?t...IX_VERIZON_GPS
that will give you an unlocked gps
next follow the instructions on this page
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...VerizonAGPSFix
They are meant for the xv6800 and the website for the tools is down, but the instructions are the same.
You need wmodem drivers and you need qpst.
You might be able to type ##3424 into your phone and hit send, or maybe ##3424# then send, or you might need to go to system tools->phone codes->diag
That puts the phone in dmr mode.
or if all else fail i used a program called nOpen
in the file line enter
/Windows/DmRouter.exe
command line
/DIAG

the get qpst working, read from the phone, go to the GPSOne tab, and check off all the boxes on the left. For the PDE IP address, put 216.198.139.92. Port is 8889, then IP as protocol and PDE as calculation method.
Next write back out to the phone, and it should reboot.
Next you need to update the registry with the same IP address and port, ppcgeeks has a regedit that takes care of it here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=815901
Good luck!
if you need i still have all the files i used
just pm me and i will see about up loading them for you
i know it seems like a lot of work but is not as bad as it looks just pm me and i can walk you thought any question you have (i hope)

Looks better, doesn't it?
Well.. Firstly thanks a lot for the Omnia 2 forum.. Have always been a fan of XDA community and now since Omnia 2 is supported, i think it will help me ( and many Omnia 2 users ) even more.. Looking forward to Custom Roms, Apps and the likes.. .. (More stuff for the gorgeous AMOLED display..!! )
I'd also like to extend my thanks to xda for including the O2 in their forums. I'm expecting great things from this strong community. Ok now for my question. ANy way for me to speed up the kinetic scrolling in O2 6.5 rom? The scrolling is smooth but I want it to move faster. Faster as in more like the iPhone's. So, possibly more coasting would help? The amount of coasting is quite minimal at the moment.
Thanks for adding Omnia II support.
Waiting for the great support that is coming along.
Thank God an Omnia II forum in XDA!!, It will now be just a matter of time for us to get the program memory issue solved
thank you for opening up a forum page for Omnia II. i missed daily visiting this area since i sold my x1. alot of stuff for HTCs etc arent compatible with samsung.
Thanks
Thanks for starting Samsung Omnia II forum, been praying for this, you are the best
Cheers!
Hello all
I know this is for Omnia II, but i found no forum for Omnia i900.
I had before a HTC Touch Elfin and changed since a week to a Samsung Omnia i900L, which has also integrated GPS. I don't know why, as i installed all programs into My Memory, but i am running out of memory, maybe it could be because i installed SPB Mobile Shell. I tried to figure out how of the 88.17 available MB of storage, 82.02 are used, (program 55.58 used of total 97.21 MB) but i could not find the problem.
I was thinking to flash a new ROM with a better memory repartition, but i also read about problems with GPS, BT and also with the front camera with most of the ROM's. Also will everything what is inside My Memory remain untouched? I am not at all familiar with Samsung flashing, as it is different as for HTC devices (I flashed dozens of ROM's on my Elfin), so will the radio for example stay untouched too? I read the topic about flashing but have still lots of doubts.
Could some mercyful soul shed some light on my total darkness? tongue.gif
Also maybe recommend a good WM 6.5 ROM, maybe one not stripped of all Samsung goodies?

hi guys as you can see i'm new to this forum. I've recently got a Samsung GT-i8000 and i am so grateful that there is a forum dedicated to my phone model. However i am having some difficulties with the phone which i hope that you guys can answer my queries. I chanced upon this websites and i thought it would be a great opportunity to voice out my queries.
Firstly, is the Omnia II meant to be say, laggy? well everytime i switch on my phone or close applications that consumes a large amount of memory, it automatically shows the rotating loading sign and it won't go away unless i wait for like a few minutes or i have to reboot the phone. I did not download any applications(well except for facebook and so on).. but from what i can tell my phone has a relatively good amount of free memory(roughly about 50mb). So my question is there anything that i can do to solve/reduce the lag? (I have tried htcaddicts.com's clearRAM thing, but it still does not really do the job).
Secondly, i am having problems with the connectivity on the phone. Everytime i surf the net using the phone(not wireless.. the data plan) for awhile sometimes it just suddenly disconnects itself. I did not press the 'end call' button which will end my connection, but it automatically does it by itself. This happens even when my battery is charged, so does anyone know why it happens? cause it gets really irritating sometimes when i'm reading halfway and it just goes off by itself.
Thirdly, i have tried downloading some simple apps such as alarm clocks and stuff like that and downloaded into 'My Storage' but when i access settings the programs showed that it is downloaded into the 'My Device' memory, which i suspect is causing the lag. However i am no IT expert, and i hope you guys would guide me along with this phone. thanks
Problem with standby mode
I have problem with my gt-18000
actualy it is not getting auto turn off(Standby mode). I have changed the option under POWER to 1 min but still it is not getting in standby mode.
When i use s2u2 than it is going. Is this hardware fault of software.
The ver is official 6.5 from samsung
Other thing i want to know that is there any freeware that uses proximity sensor to lock n unlock my phone
Is there anyway to tweak my Omnia II so the when I initialize the camera the camera starts first? My phone starts the camcorder first and I have to switch it to camera.
I have learned alot from this site. I appreciate all the help.
Thank you
[Q] No charge after flashing
Hi everybody!
I've recently bought an Omnia II and I have a big problem.
After a few days I've decided to flash some custom rom but after flashing it there were no charging and I get some message that my battery is not supported or not compatible or something else. I've quickly flashed an original Samsung ROM and everything was fine. Then charged the battery fully and flashed an other custom ROM and have the same result. Nice fast ROM without charge. Now I'm back on stock ROM again but I'm totaly confused. Did I missed something?
Please help!
I flashed my HTC PDAs for four years without any trouble, but it's new to me and found nothing on the net. I searched this forum and MoDaCo but nothing.
Thanks for any help!
Best regards

My xperia X1a rom update

Hi everyone, I'm writing this a guide for me and maybe it will help someone in the future.
I updated my rom maybe a year ago and never really cared for my xperia, but for the price was kind of stuck with the phone. i was running a 6.1 rom and winmo 6.1 was just to? well old. My xperia is from rogers and the reception has always sucked and the blue tooth reception was crap, and the battery life sucked. But I lived with it as I needed a phone and was tired of flashing and trying new roms.
The great news is I have been looking for a new rom the last few days and came across Gtrab's 6.5 pure [SEX1 Release 5 R5.07].
All I can say is WOW this rom and now my phone rocks!!!!!
Battery life is great, reception is through the roof, full bars in the basement now and before had none. Don't let me forget to tell you about the speed, can you say Lightning!!!! Yes I know that sounds corney but WOW is my phone fast now.
Ok let me move on to why I have started this thread, and no I don't have a connection to Gtrab, I just want to let people now who are looking to flash or what to add to this rom what my experience has been as I have now flashed it 2 times as there are a few cabs that will mess it right up.
Here are the cabs i have used and work flawlessly;
1. COffice_Titanium_Plugin_by_JukEboXAuDiO.cab, great addition to office.
2. ENU-Chobit Company SmartLock 2.0F.CAB no need for slide to unlock, this uses the built in slider to unlock.
3. Microsoft Facebook 1.1.0.17.cab, Name says it all.
4. pocketrar393.exe, not shure everone will use this but it's free.
5. PowerRadio 2.4.0.2.CAB, Great radio for the xperia.
6. SEX1_Batt_Enhancer_XPERIA_v1.cab, shows the battery in 1% increments.
7. contact favorites, adds a fav contacts to the home page.
8. guap's_SE_LOGO_for_WM6.5_by_gtrab_v1.cab, changes the sart icon to a SE icon, nothing but eye candy.
the ones you want to stay away from are;
1. SEX1 Comm Mgr.cab, this killed my blue tooth, after the install blue tooth no longer connected to windows.
2. AnX1 tsowentaskbar3v1.4 SE vB1.3, I love to change the icons and this one killed my battery. It was the cause of my battery draining in less than 2 hours, really my battery went from 100% to 20% in less then 2 hours. So I have yet to find another icon package to work with this rom but if and when i find one I'll post the name.
Ok this is all I have so far, i hope this helps someone and as I find more out about this rom I'll add to the post. Again thanks for Gtrab's work as he has made my xperia kick as for the first time.
I encourage anyone to add or make suggestion to the comments I have made and by no means am I trying to upset anyone and everyone's hard work is appreciated, as I know some of the cabs are intened for specific roms, it's just hard to find out what will and will not work.
Out for now.

Hi mod's, I just want to first apologize for this post, I was just afraid it would get lost in Gtrab's thread.
I do want to let you know that if this is inappropriate I can delete this post, and if i must my deepest apologies, the rom just got me all worked up.
Also if it is not appropriate for me to post my wallpapers like this please let me know as I love to work on images and plan to add a lot more including some task bar icons I have used and made for older se phones, like my old c905, I have a set of 9 icons for the old se java menu that i'm working on changing to work with winmo, at that point I will most likely ask if some one could incorporate them into a working cab file.
Hell I might even take a stab at it myself. I was into the se phones a few years ago and bought Cruiser back in the day when it cost an arm and a leg, this is the first time in a long time i have had this much interest in modding and tweaking phones, I thank or maybe blame Gtrab for this.
Dont mean to be so long winded, just don't want to cause any waves in the forums as I like it here.
HackitZ out!!!

hi
I like your attitude, posting working configurations is always very helpful to all users
but: why did you open a new thread in general section instead of posting in gtrabs rom thread? this info would have been placed way better there, reaching those most interested in that kind of info and being in the right context to start with
sry to say it, but here it's really a rather redundant kind of stand-alone
I just read another post (unfortunately another redundant new thread) in themes and apps asking about working taskbar icons for gtrab 6.5 pure that do not kill battery...
does that sound familiar?
you see what I mean with posting in the right place
cheers

New HD2

After several problems with my HD2 which i first got in December last year, i sent it back to HTC for the third time. The main problem was a defective touch screen and the other wwas the haptic feedback stopping all the time.
I spoke to a customer service rep on the phone and explained my annoyance that my phone had been sent to HTC twice to repair the same things and i still had the problems. The guy on the phone assured me that the screen would be replaced and the haptic feedback repaired.
HTC had my phone for a week and a half and i got it back yesterday and guess what???? They sent me a replacement HD2. WAHHOO!!! Its about bloody time!
Looking at the installed applications, i noticed that it came with a few hotfixes installed and i don't know what they are. Does anyone out there know?
They are
Hotfix LEO08570
Hotfix LEO08604
Hotfix LEO08787_1.0
Hotfix LEO08491
LEO08491 - Hot fix for LEO wrong task behavior.
LEO08570 - Hot-fix SA for LEO Audio Booster issue.
LEO08787_1.0 - Hot-fix for screen sensitivity
LEO08604 - I think this is the album hotfix
pablo11, your a star, thanks mate

Hey
im with you on the search 1st thing, but if you look closely at the answer you got from google, its the answer posted by pablo11, so your search wouldnt have been so easy had the op not posted!!??
And yes i know... this post was as useful as yours
why use google when this forum is for passing on knowledge amonst other things?
I asked a question and I received an answer from a senior member who is willing to pass on his knowledge. Again, thanks to Paulo11 for replying and not saying "try searching" like i read in many other posts. Why does every member of XDA forums have the function to post a new thread if they weren't meant/allowed to ask questions.
Kalavere and Kam333, if you are bothered by people asking questions to which they don't know the answers, then please don't bother replying. It probably takes more effort you complaining about it then actually answering the initial question
Why have XDA if we can't ask questions??????????

My only guess is that English isnt your 1st language so maybe some of my post was lost in translation???
I was actually Defending Your Right to post, i could spell it out but that might seem a bit patronising & i dont want to drag this out, hopefully you will read it again & get the point.
All the best!
Kam333,
i sincerely apologise
i only read the first part of your post seeing that you agreed with Kalavere and got annoyed without reading the rest of your post. Again, i do apologise, please forgive me!

Hey hatchie
Dont take it so seriously, there's nothing to forgive, glad you got it.
p.s. it maybe a pipe dream but forums should be a friendly/ productive place & useless unnecessary digs at new members asking legitimate Q's shouldn't be encouraged IMHO.

Do you know where i can get these hotfixes from? I want to flash a custom rom but want these hotfixes in case i want to go back to the stock rom
Is it possible to extract these from my phone somehow?
Thanks

Hey
most of the hot fixes are listed on the HTC support site http://www.htc.com/europe/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=297&act=sd&cat=all
but you will find that most chefs are aware of these issues & almost all of the fixes are incorporated into the new roms.
if you want to be extra safe, invest in a decent backup app such as SPB or Sprite backup & backup before trying a custom rom, then if you decide to revert back to stock you can restore your setup using 1 of these tools. i personally use SPB which has saved a lot of time when going back to a previous rom.
Hello!
I have just received my phone back from HTC yesterday. I too had the twitchy screen problem and they agreed to sort it under warranty.
They told me they had replaced the mainboard as this was causing the problem. I booted it up and it did seem better, though when I looked I realised they have just installed the hot fix that slows it down and desensitises it. As soon as I reflashed the phone the screen problem is back so I’m not too happy.
People seem to say new HD2’s don’t have the twitchy screen problem. Is there a new screen part in the more recent ones? or if not what is the difference that means some people ahve twitchy screens and others don’t. I have had mine since day of release and HTC told me there was only one part number for the screen.
Thanks in advance!

maybe its your rom's fault?
Well it does it in all ROMs. It was only because they installed the hot fixes. and as people say, hot fix LEO08787_1.0 makes the phone a bit unresponsive.
Its hard to understand if ti is a hardware fault or just works differently based on the individual. if i literally hover my finger over the screen within a hairs width it starts jumping all over the place. Some people here say its a fault that needs returning, others say its just normal.
what do people think?put up and shut up or send back to HTC and nag for a new screen. it makes typing things very annoying.

It's a ROM issue, the screen responsiveness can be tweaked, I use Energy ROM and a few releases ago NRG tweaked the screen responsiveness so it was really awkward for me to use my keyboard SlideIT, as I moved my finger across the screen the line was oscillating everwhere. As soon as I flashed an updated ROM it fixed the sensitivity issue.
alexpatrick86,
that was exactly the same problem i had with my first hd2. The first time it was sent back, they said that they had to reconnect a connector on the back of the screen......it came back exactly the same. The second time i sent it away, they reflashed the rom (seems a bit useless if you ask me, seeing as we can do that ourselves), and yet again, it came back exactly the same.
The third time i was told the screen was going to be replaced, however they sent me a new device. The new device did however, have the sensitivity hotfix (among others) installed. I have since flashed a custom rom (duttys) and the phone is working perfectly.
I would say that your screen needs replaced or the device replaced. give HTC a ring and complain until they get sick of you and send you a new phone!
Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm too using the Energy ROM v10. I have used Duttys ROMS too but they were the same.
I have had the problem through out ownership of the device. It’s annoying buying such an expensive device and it having such a poor screen. I get the button flicking people demonstrate on YouTube where you press the backspace button and it selects U's, B's and all sorts. Or in notepad u press lightly and can see it draw a pretty scalagmite LOL.
HTC replaced the mainboard in my handset for me, so they must have thought something was wrong with it. So now my call timer is back at 20secs lol.
I just dont want the jitters, and i dont want reduced sensitivity as a substitue. Especially when some say they had it on devices bt susequent replacements didnt have it. Hmmmm
Thanks Hatchie! Thats what i will do! I can handle it been very sensitive and I can adjust, but having it jump every where and press buttons over an inch from my thumb makes it unusable and it just cant be right! And if ti is, then what were hTC thinking?
