No sound from speakers - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

Recently I posted about my 7501 not having any Bluetooth audio. Two trips to HTC finally got that fixed. Now I have the reverse problem. I only have Bluetooth audio. Nothing from the speakers. This started intermittently at first & now there's nothing. I use Bluetooth a lot & it acts as if it's just not switching the speakers back on after I've used bluetooth. I've tried turning the mute/unmute on & off numerous times as well as doing the same with the bluetooth, plus several soft resets & battery removal & reinstalls, nothing. Any ideas? I really don't want to send it off again for repairs or even do a hard reset if possible......Thanks.

this happened to me like last year. however, i didn't have the previous troubles you had. what happened was my unit was bonded to my headset. a call came through and the next thing you know all the sounds were being streamed to the headset only. after unbonding, deleting the connection, resets, removing the battery, etc....nothing changed. i had to do a hard reset...that worked but after like 3 calls all the sounds would stream back to the headset only. the speakers refused to work.
i don't know if this fix is applicable for you. what rom version are you using? is it the original? what i did was upgraded my rom to aku3. my unit was using the original rom when the problem happened. i was reading a lot on the aku3 rom but was hesitant to upgrade. let's face it, everyone who upgrades is always in danger of bricking their units. but in my case, i had nothing to lose....if upgrading my unit did brick it...then i wouldn't feel as bad given the problems i had regarding the bt / non-working speakers.
thankfully the upgrade proved to be successful and it certainly fixed the issue i had. to date i've had no other problems ever since i upgraded to aku3....which is another reason why i'm now hesitant to upgrade to the 4.0 rom. my unit's functioning in tip-top shape and i don't really see the need for the upgrade.
for you, if your unit is on warranty then i would suggest that you send it back to the shop. if all else fails, then perhaps you may start considering the rom upgrade. a friend of mine had the same issue and he mentioned that the feedback from the shop was that his rom was corrupted. thus, he did the upgrade as well and that fixed the problem.
cheers

In the Universal thread, I've come across that problem of yours. The solution was plugging in a wired headset or headphones, then just unplugged it again. This usually brings back the sound to the speakers. I believe the problem lies in the headphone jack and had to be replaced. I don't know if it is similar to what you are experiencing, but it won't hurt to try.
Good luck.

Internal phone speaker doesn't work

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with my XDA Exec, basically, the internal phone speaker doesn't seem to work. External one is fine (the one on the outside of the case) but the one next to the screen does nothing.
It did work when I first bought it. I have since upgraded to the latest o2 rom. However I cannot remember if it stopped working exactly then or later!! Daft I know!
So I just wanted to ask if anyone else had this problem after upgrading the rom (I am using 1.30.107 WWE, radio version 1.09.00), and if so, is there a way to fix it? If there is no one else with this then I guess it is a hardware fault and will return it for repair, but wanted to check.
Cheers
Rick
Anyone? I don't mind if the answer is just "Mine works fine", I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this with the same rom version as mine, before I condemn it and return it to the shop.
I have the same o2 rom as you mentioned, and have encountered no problems. Im sure its a hardware problem, caused by dropping the phone etc, rather than a software one.
o2 offer a free replacement within 1 month if you got it directly from them, or I suppose you could get it repaired from somewhere. Im not sure if the speaker is covered under warranty, but might be worth a shot!
Thanks. I have had it about 4 months now I think, I would bloody hope the speaker is covered by the warranty though, phone ain't much use without it
By the way, are you sure the incall volume is turned up!!! Just making sure!
If it is, why not try a hard reset just to see if it helps!
Just gone through the same problem.
First of all try to put the jack of the headset inside the hole and twistle it.
If it doesn't solve the problem, I'm afraid you need a replacement.
I had the same problem a week ago. Every speaker worked, except the one next to the display. The problem appeared somehow over night ... I definitely didn't drop the phone or did something "rude" with it.
Unfortunately, I don't have the original headset to exercise this plugin/plugout/twisteling method as mentioned by lautunno, so I tried this with a regular headphone. Without direct success
A hard reset didn't change anything.
... but after a few days of trying almost everything, the speaker started to work again and still works without any interruptions :?
I'm not sure if it's really hardware related because there are so many people with the same problem and almost everyone of them has fixed the problem by just powercycling the phone many times, plugging the headset in and out, fiddling around with the phone app, etc.
As far as I know, the radio firmware is responsible for addressing this speaker (because it's only useable as a phone speaker) and this part of the device firmware doesn't get resetted when you do a hard reset. Maybe it stores some settings (like headphone mode?) in an EEPROM or something like this.
Anyway, good luck and keep trying.
.ox
ps.: I'm also using the O2 firmware (1.30.96 GER) but I've upgraded the radio stack to version 1.11.00.

I think it´s a hardware related problem
Try to take it to a repair center
Good luck,
I have the same problem. When a sound is played it just clicks and that's all. I had a problem with my ribon cable and I took it out. I've done that before (it's my second cable failing), so I knew what I was doing. I was off for a about a month untill I got a now cable. When I put it back together, I had no sound, just that click thing. I can't take it to a repair center. If anyone has a solution, please share.
I also found that my camera does not work. It says Failed to initialize camera. 36001:100:1. I tried a different rom, but still have the problem.
Also I tried to make a phone call (I'm not using it as a main phone, that's why I just found that out) and I can hear the other person, but they can't hear me.

PD: orb3000 muchas gracias por ser tan atento
I have good news. Something happened. I dont know what i did... but i got my sound back (and camera. main camera at least).
As you I flashed the rom, then the radio rom and I still got the problem. So I thought I'll leave it like that untill I find a solution. And I thought.. well i can at least play some games on it and I downloaded Archibald. I put it on the phone. Started it and ?! I had sound. Again I dont know if I did something before that, but I got it working. I'll attach the game, maybe it did something. Give it a try.
Again I have no idea what I did. It might have some bad connections somewhere. I remember I had the same problem (either with the Universal or the Wizard) but dont remember how I fixed it.
Here is a link for the game:
i install it but the miracle didnt happens i also will try to remove the battery it have on the motherboard to make a cmos clear (like in a normal computer). Lucky you i will keep trying
I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't if it matters but my small mb battery is dead. Apperantly it died during the month the battery was out. Everything works except that when I do a soft reset, the clock resets too.
I have these problems too, does anyone know the specification of the mobo battery?
I have the sound problem but mine doesnt work even with headphones in and i also have a problem with the keys being activated when the screen is in a certain position. Could all of these problems be casued by the ribbon cable?Rob
As far as my expirience goes with the ribon cable, it commands the touch, the lcd, mic, speaker on the lcd part. the keyboard has it's own cable. and it snaps to the motherboard. maybe it's loose or something. For the battery I got http://cgi.ebay.com/Dopod-D900-900-T-mobile-MDA-IV-Qtek-9000-backup-Battery_W0QQitemZ350170469398QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGPS_Accessories_Cablesthis on ebay. But mine looks a little different.
also happens to me when i make a soft reset the clock also restart could be all because the mb battery is dead?
OK, we are getting somewhere Since my sound got back, whenever I reset I get to keep my current time. So maybe my mb battery fixed itself or charged.
I am pretty sure now that is what's causing the problems. If you could disassemble your pda, try playing with the battery. See if it is not loose or something. Try to short-circut it. Get a something form metal and touch both pins. Also try leaving your PDA charging over night.
I hope you fix it since I cant seem to find that kind of battery over the internet.

X1 thinks headphones are plugged in (no sound)

Hi,
My X1 would not play and sounds or when i rang someone i could not hear a thing and neither could they, the same applied for recieving calls the X1 would ring but when i answer there is no sound.
It was like this all day so when i got home i reinstalled generic rom from SEUS but all i noticed after that was the headphone icon apperared on the top of the screen, it wasnt there before,
so after reinstalling ROM the problem was the same so i plugged in my headphones and took them back out and all was fine! i wasted hours setting up my X1 again just because it thought the headphones were in.
however today the same happened out of the blue so i knew what it was, i plugged in my headphones and uplugged and all was fine and so far so good.
WHY does it do this, i never use the jack, always bluetooth so why all of a sudden, also why did it not show me the headphone icon (i did have SEX1 icons installed)
all back to normal and my X1 is fast again so probably a bonus for me. i thought i would share this so noone goes through the same process as me and can find this tread and solve the issue.
Have anyone else come across this?
I had the same problem but they fixed it with a new audio jack when I sended my x1 in for repair for cracks in the case. Never had the problem after that again. So if the problem appears again youcan send it too SE and they will fix it under warrenty
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=515487 its a common problem
same problem here, I sent a e-mail to SE support they said me that I had to update my device, otherwise send my device to SE support. I updated ROM Generic R3A then hard reset, and everything goes cool. Try it and then let me know
thanks for your replies,
its been fine for months never had the issue before but still no issues yet

Phone thinks headset is plugged in when its not

I've had my Jade for about a year, and yesterday managed to encounter quite an unfortunate glitch where the phone has started thinking my headset is plugged in when it's not
This of course, makes talking on the phone without a headset impossible, unless I want to use speaker mode
I tried performing a hard reset on my phone, which did nothing
After that, I was able to temporarily fix the issue by setting the 'headset' value in my registry to 0, but now the phone keeps automatically resetting it to 1
If anyone has suggestions on how to fix this, they would be much appreciated
Thanks

Unfortunately this seems to be a hardware problem that a lot of people have encountered with the Jade. My phone did exactly the same just two weeks ago and it was frustrating as hell. I googled the problem and there were lots of different solutions that worked for people, but none seemed to work for me. In the end the problem solved itself, though I still have no idea how.
Anyway the problem apparently comes from a hardware switch in the mini-USB port of the phone. Something tells the software that the headset is still plugged in, therefore the phone alters the registry each time to represent that.
Solutions:
Solutions found on Google incude:
Plugging in the headset several times and wiggling it around, then removing it in the hope that this resets the hardware switch. Likewise, try this with the USB charger.
Hard reset the phone (search forum for instructions) or use the reset pin on the back of the phone under the SD slot (use the stylus to press the red button in) ** BE WARNED YOU WILL LOSE ALL DATA **
I actually reflashed mine with my favourite cooked ROM, but this still left me with the problem. As I said my phone sorted itself out, but I would recommend taking a cocktail or small pin and VERY CAREFULLY remove all lint / pocket fluff that has got caught up there.
Hope this helps and sorry I can't offer a hard and fast solution.

8125, bluetooth headset problem

First off, thanks everyone who contributes here! It's great to find a community to help some of us who are completely clueless heheh .
Ok, on to my problem. I'm running Faria's Crossbow on my 8125 Wiz. I updated it last fall, and, other than an issue with not reconnecting to a tower, it's been running great. (I've got one or two dead zones in my area, and today I applied the Radio rom patch, hoping to eliminate that problem ) But. I've got a Sennheiser MX100 Bluetooth headset, and I've been using it for a while. Unfortunately, a few months back, I lost my charging cable, and I just got a replacement this weekend. Well, after letting it fully charge up, I tried to reestablish a link to my phone, and it's not seeing it. I really don't have any other bluetooth devices to test either of them to, and not sure how best to tell which of them (or both) is malfunctioning. So. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any assistance, and have a great day!
