Yahoo! Go 3.0 - Wing, P4350 General

Does anyone have the .cab file for the new beta version of Yahoo! Go? When bringing up the Yahoo Go Website on Opera, it shows the new version, but when I click on download, it tells me to use my mobile phones built in browser. I did a quick search and found a smartphone version available, installed it and it works, so I wonder why they dont have a PPC version or allow Wing users to download it

Did you try going to it using Internet Explorer on your phone. Worked for me.

yea I tried it with pocket IE and it shows that I can only download 2.0. Sorry I forgot to mention that before

Try this
But I believe this is a smartphone version so no touchscreen
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=85153&d=1210411653

Also as of now 3.0 is still beta and only supports the higher end htc phones, the 4350 is still under 2.0

I too have been hoping to have this. Unfortunately I don't think it exist yet on on the WM5 platform. I have so many websites that I wish I would access using our device but just have to go back to my desktop. An example of such a website would be www.fxstreet.com where I want to look at the graphs of real time exchage rate movement. When directed to the Sun Microsystem's website for Java Update, it would simply says that they do not have a version that support my operating system platform. This problem is similar to not being able to directly play youtube movies on the website because their version of flash player is always newer than what is available on WM5 environment.

Because it`s actually a beta (not a trial - sorry, I ought to have used the right word). Java is an external application and I assume either they have to pay a licence fee for it or they know that it already works (hence doesn`t need to be in the beta).
it has been the same for each beta. There should be a trial of 3.3 which does include java.

New Opera Mini 4.1 version released !!

Hello,
Today was released to the public Opera Mini v4.1
You can download it here, or here for the signed versions.
One of the new features of this version is Direct address input, that makes a lot easier to input any web address.
But I'm having a trouble with it.
I'm using the latest Esmertec Jbed, build 20080222.3.1, and Opera Mini (all versions) runs in full screen without up and down bar. And without that I can't activate the keyboard...
Does anyone knows how to prevent Opera Mini to lauch in fullscreen??
By the way, here's the latest Esmertec Jbed version
Yeah, the best browser for low traffic, i`m using it on my MPx200
wow amazing we can actually download and upload files through opera mini now.
cheers does anyone know how to stop the anoying "do you want to let Opera on the web" (or something similar)?? I tried all the signed Midlett installs, but none of them worked, just got a error saying "Midlet no signed". Ended up installing Opera Mini unsigned. (Using TAO Java)
Cheers,

Try with Esmertec Java
"Opera claims the new version is 50% faster than Opera Mini 4.0"
can anyone confirm this ? if this is true this alone would make it worth upgrading.
also I have my Opera Mini set up as default browser thru that hack that's going around. if I upgrade do I have to do that over ? And will I lose my bookmarks and everything ?
thanks for the help !
4.1 is supposed to handle downloads now too! About time...
Yup that is very true noellenchris, and it works very good on my S710 using latest esmertec jbed!!!

I thought I read somewhere that opera 4.1 is ".. UP to 50% faster than 4.0 ..." in the Kaiser Software section".
If you install 4.1, you have to redo your bookmarks, speed dials, rss feeds, etc. To me, it's worth it. I can see the speed increase in page rendering and the auto completion for a web address is a nice time saving feature as well. There is a minor bug though ... you can't backspace when typing an web address. You have to 'insert symbol' in the drop down box to edit the web address. I uninstalled 4.0 for 4.1. But you can install 4.1 and still keep 4.0 if you wanted to since these are two diferent versions of the same app.

Is there an actual PPC version?
Or does it only work with JAVA??
I see all downloads there is .jar .jad and blackberry versions
Any info?
Thought it was always a JAVA application, would love to see a native PPC version though.

Hmm, I'm using the multi-signed version and no longer asks "do you want to let Opera on the web" (or something similar) bla bla talk...
Maybe it's because you are using TAO Java. Try to use Esmertec Jbed, it's the best virtual machine...

yeah, we all know that, but that's not what we want. We want Direct address input enable and to be able to use the soft keyboard (for example on my Prophet). And because Opera mini stays in Fullscreen, due to the upper and lower bars, we can't acess the soft keyboard. Get it??
By the way, my father has an Sony Ericsson K800i, I tested a few minutes ago, and the version of Operamini for that mobile has an option to enable/disable the fullscreen. Damn it!!

Works like a charm with esmertec jbed. I had some trouble downloading the signed version, since downloading from pocketIE automatically launched the tao midlet manager (which didn't recognize the bertificate btw), so i ended up going to mini.opera.com/beta with firefox with wap plugin installed and grabbing the high memory .jad signed with multiple certificates from there
Having signed version allows to permanently allow access to internet and filesystem.
For the direct address input - it seems to work only with numerical keys (so a sip like phone pad should work). Disabling the direct url input allows to use normal keyboard SIP or hardware keyboard just like in previous version.
Downloading really does work - that's probably the best feature of new opera - no more pocketIE launching needed
Overall, i really like the new version. The only change i would like to see in in is allowing to use hardware keyboard with direct URL entry.

Well it loads fine on my vogue, doesn't show the keyboard button at the bottom of my screen but sometimes it opens the keyboard when I click on a dialog. Although unfortunatly for me it's just like the regular m.facebook.com site, after entering my user/pass it won't log in, just stays at the loading screen. If someone could only get a descent webkit browser up and running we could just use the iphone page.
Wait. Why would we need an entire WebKit browser up and running to access the iPhone version of Facebook? All we need is the iPhone User Agent
Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/1A543a Safari/419.3
I've tested on both Desktop Firefox and Netfront Browser 3.5 (the only mobile browser other than IEM I knew how to change the user agent) and it works for "Web Apps" like Facebook and Google. However, it's not a smooth experience, and I was hoping someone would develop a frontend to use the iPhone user agent.
Btw, would you consider releasing the source of this program? It'd be a better alternative to having internet shortcuts to web applications, since it'd allow users to strip away some features of IEM (eg. Zoom Out, Favorites) to allow for faster loading.
Hmmmm.....
I dont mean to be rude, but what is the difference between this and m.facebook.com?

yea..what is the difference between that and m.facebook.com?
This is just a frontend to it. The point being that you don't need many of the PIE functions for facebook so it's lighter on system resources and can do things like full screen etc.
can i see some screen shots?
it looks exactly like how it would look going to the mobile facebook on your PIE, personally I like PIE because I have SPB PocketPlus installed and it allows me to flick up and down the page
Any ideas when an application like the one for blackberry will be released? Actually I think even that one is a little limited.
I just want a fast running running app that allows me to upload photo/videos, check my messages, update my status and give me a quick review of my friend list.

[REQ] WM Marketplace

Someone has a working cab of Windows Mobile Marketplace ?
thanks
Do you not see everywhere that Windows Mobile Marketplace is not RELEASED YET. You can't get it or use it, only Microsoft and Partners have it now. Wait till Windows Mobile 6.5 FINAL gets released and then download it and it will probably come with the Marketplace. And you can't get it on Windows Mobile 6.0 or 6.1
READ FIRST
It is not a standalone application that you install on your device, it is a website that you can access through your browser and then use to download applications, programs and games etc. It's just not up and running yet.
You can access it at the moment but like I said, it's not active, try it - http://client.marketplace.windowsmobile.com/
It will still be possible to access it on past Windows Mobile operating systems too with it being a website but I think they are planning on having apps mainly for WM 6.5.
Hope this helps.
I believe a user by the name of MrHawaii actually was able to connect to the Marketplace for a brief amount of time, in which he was prompted to download a CAB file that I'm assuming works something like a downloader or a small program used in conjunction with the web service. Regardless of whether or not the CAB is out in the wild or not, you still do need to be able to access the website, and the only people that have access to that at the moment is developers.

I hope in other feedback so I can realize if it's my device's problem or not (I've installed the .NET CF)
You might want to give Total Commander a try:

If you're looking for a FTP server rather than a client then try MochaSoft's freeware FTP server (if you haven't already!). It's pretty good and you can't argue with free
The Windows Mobile version of Total Commander is free. The full PC version is shareware though.

Thank you for the tip. I had already tried it but i wasn't able to insert the freeware license key, because some troubles with my keypad i supposed...
I'll try one more time now with wm6.5, maybe i can register it...
I installed this and it looked good, but now when I try to run it I just get the busy cursor for about 5 seconds then nothing - the app fails to launch.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling - same thing happens (ie nothing).
I've tried uninstaling, deleting the program files folder and reinstalling - same.
Is there maybe something in the registry that's tripping it up?
I get no errors when I uninstall or reinstall, the app just doesn't start up when I try to run it. (I've tried running from the lin kin 'Programs' and direct for the directory where it installs, and have tried installing on internal storage and onto my SD card).
Would really like to use this, but no joy at the moment.

Hi,
I'm unable to get that soft to work, it doesn't list all files & folders on all the FTP site I connect to, I always also obtain error messages.
There is also no Exit button or menu entry....
Does anyone get this soft to work as it should ?

I discovered there was a bug with filezilla ftp servers ( Blame or them.. but basicly they for some reason think its importent to include the name of the ftp server when saying what type of directory listing its using).
Hopefully there will be a update next week that fixes this. If you know what type of ftp server you where failing against can you let me know?
.cab file is wrong file?i dld it but when click it says erro.plz run application first
Has anyone found a workaround to get this to work with FileZilla server. I have the latest version of both and still not working.
