6800 hacks, mods, or tweaks? - Mogul, XV6800 General

I have Alltel and just recently switched to a 6800 from a Treo 700w/x... Been contemplating on switching to the touch but just don't think I can live without wi-fi. I have WM 6.0 and wanted to know if there was an upgrade available to 6.1? I've seen others say that they have switched to 6.1. If so where would I find the download? I've tried Windows Update from the phone and receive no updates... Also what else could I do to my 6800? Any other upgrades? Could I upgrade my rom? My current version is 2.14.671.3. What are some of you doing to your 6800 and what could I do to make it run more efficiently. I have a problem with Ram and was wondering if anyone knows of a registry hack to be able to get it to use storage either on the device or the micro sd card or another possible workaround?

there are a kagillion hacks and tweaks for your phone just type in what you want to do in the search or just go straight to the titan section which you were already in. welcome to the site. p.s. be careful it becomes addictive

Its kinda hard to help you with your question. It's too broad. For some guidance check out my sig and the link to the hacks.

How do you upgrade to 6.1 with a tmobile shadow

Hey can someone point me in the right direction to upgrade a tmobile shadow to WM 6.1??
I cant seem to find it in these threads and i really want the threaded text like i have on my wing.
Is there a ROM for the JUNO that has 6.1 but keeps everything else from t-mobile pretty much the same?
Thanks for the help
I keep hearing from other forums as well. I don't think there is a 6.1 from T-mobile just yet. There is however a 6. I have it installed. Go to your T-mobile.com page input your number and pass and you must update from there.
This is where all shadow updates for t-mobile are located.

questions on xv6800, upgraded from cooked 6700

I put this in the general discussion area, figured i would move it to the correct forum,
I just upgraded form the xv6700 to the xv6800. I had cooked the 6700. The 6800 is stock. I have managed to get all of my apps that i want over, but am lacking 2 things. First one, on the cooked 6700, the text messages would organize themselves into conversations from people. the 6800 does not do this, it just lists them as they come in. I have tried sorting different ways, but that does not do it. I cant figure out what i used in the cooked rom to accomplish this, any ideas?
secondly, I had added the touch diamond qwerty keyboard to the 6700 through the kitchen rom i used. Is there an individual download for this? everytime i search i just get info on the touch diamond.
Thanks in advance guys.
oh, i am running windows mobile 6 professional. OS 5.2.1238 (build 17745.0.2.3)

Yes although ironically it's still in the wrong place. The Verizon 6800 is the Titan (AKA Mogul) which is not the same as the TyTn (AKA Hermes).

2 day re-direct in place.
anyone have any ideas?
WM 6.1 has threaded texting, which organizes the text messages based on conversation, so I suggest you flash 6.1.
That's my answer to your first question.
Devin
ahh, thank you, yes i did flash 6.1. i'll have to look around for that. the 6800 is working very well, and i dont want to screw with it if i dont have too, at least for a couple months anyhow!

is it possible to install windows mobile 5?

Hi,
sorry if this has been asked before, i searched but found nothing specific so here goes.
i have been asked by my bro-in-law to downgrade his t-mobile mda compact v to wm5 so he can use the apps he needs to use for his job as a sky satellite engineer.
apart from ruining a perfectly good phone, i'm afraid that it will run like poo and crash often.
so, is there a way to install a wm5 rom to this handset and where do i find a compatible rom?
any help is greatly appreciated
thanks
ave'
i dont think thats possible, but the apps he use should work in wm6 too.
i use apps from wm2003 and wm5 in wm6 so that wouldn't be a problem i think
cheers mate,
i will try that route and see how it goes.
ever tried looking for an old phone that still running wm5 at ebay?

Non flashed hd2 What programs/app do you love to use?

Hi all.
I was a bit reluctant to start this thread but as I was getting nowhere I thought I needed to and I'm sorry if there are other threads out there similar to this and if it upsets you i wanna say that was not my intention.
Great forum, I'm sure everyone appreaciates every little effort that's goes into this project so thanks for your hard work..
I am new to the htc hd2/winmo and I'm glad I have chosen this over the iphone. I have been a big fan of nokia/symbian o/s devices
As i have had my hd2 a week now - i have only upgraded it to the official 1.72 tmobile rom frOm the htc site. I want to stay away from flashing hd2 for the timebeing as I want to experience the hd2 as it is.. I'm all in favour of flashed/cooked Roms so I'm confident I will eventually
i just want to ask can someone guide me or give me a list of programs/ applications preferably foc (not marketplace) I can install onto my hd2 as I'm abit confused whether most programs need a customed hd2 prior to installing?
And Also are the below programs suitable for this? I have used the search function before some says.
Bsb tweaks
Cookies tab editor
Tcpmp player
Resco/ total commander file explorers and registry editors
.net compact framework 3.5
Skyfire
I would be grateful if someone can take some time out to answer what programs/apps you use and if they will work for a non custom hd2
Many thanks in advance.

No you don't need a custom ROM to use applications.
All those programs will work fine.
Google freeware pocket pc on your phone, then download Omarket to your phone, then you will have plenty of apps with reviews to choose from.
If you dont like one all you have to do is un-install.
