Up button - P3600 General

Hi i wonder if someone could help me my up button on the joypad has stopped working. Anyone else had this and is there a way to fix it?
Thanks
Stephen

All my buttons on the left hand side of my Trinity stopped working .....I had to send it away to HTC - it was still under warranty.

I also have this problem. But unfortunately I have a custom Rom on it. So I can't send it for warranty..
Does someone has an solution for those who can't send it under warranty?

I have a custom rom and I think the problem is a software rather than hardware issue. Another manifestation seems to be the that the buttone repeating.

The big problem is that in our pockets there is so much dust...and goes into the keys contacts.
Solved with the "disassemble guide":http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311463
After arrived to the keyboard you must detach the transparent film and clean the metal circles.

thanks andrea,
I thought the problem was related to the rom rather than the actual button, I take it you had the same problem.

why not flash ur trinity into official ROM ? then send it back to the HTC ?
that is the easy way to repair ur trinity i guess

Thanks,
I flashed back and returned the last time. As this is the second time I have had the same problem I started to wonder if it could have been a rom rather than hardware issue.
Thanks
S

I too have a problem with the green calling button- I've to press it very hard to get it work. I'll probably disassemble & clean the keypad pcb & then check if it works.

Front buttons not working after rom update

Hi
Since upgrading my rom I cant get the from buttons to work, I have read a few websites but seem to be stuck, anybody got any clear instructions on what to do?
Cheers
anyone know what to do?
I have the same problem. I opened it and cleaned the contacts of the front buttons but the major think i could do is have it working fine for about a week then the same problem showed up.
What rom, Does your screen go white? Did you hard SPL your Hermes so you can easily change your rom?
We need information to help. All you're saying is you have a problem. Could be hardware or could be software. There is no need to open your Hermes if the problem is in the rom and no point reflashing an OS if the hardware is faulty.
So saying, if your keys were working before you flashed I'd either reflash the OS or try a different one.
If your hardware was playing up then it may be you need to open up and reseat a connection to make sure there is no corrosion affecting it or the connection is not loose because of a drop.
Cheers...

All my buttons activate volume control!

Lately i have a very annoying problem. My xperia shows me the volume control whenever i press one of the buttons. I already flashed my xperia back to the normal ROM but nothing helps. Someone knows this problem?
Could it be software-related?
I hope so, because i won't like it if i have to send back.

So, whatever ROM you flash, you still have this problem?
If the answer is "yes", my answer is:
- Flash back also the original SPL
- If the problem still persist, no, it's not a software problem, I'm sorry but up to me you will have to send it back to SE. (when sending back, please make sure to restore all original stuffs, i.e. ROM and SPL)
someone else has any idea what it could be?
It seems strange that it would be a hardware problem.
The moment this happened i wasn't even using my phone, it didn't fall or something like that.

touch screen problem - calibration

After I installed new rom on my blackstone a new problem came out...
Time to time something hapens to my touch screen. It gets very very imprecise. For example, when I'm writing a SMS message I press the "V" button but then "G" is written on the screen... But this doesn't happen just when I'm writing a SMS but it happens no matter what I'm doing with the phone... Everything seems to be "shifted"/moved for about 1 centimetre upwards.
I made a hard reset and reinstalled rom but nothing didn't helped...
But it's funny because this isn't happening all the time but just time to time. Then I recalibrate the screen (voUp and voDO + tap the screen) and it helps for a few moments and than the same problem again. Then I'm doing the recalibration procedure till this problem vanish...
What is the problem, how can I solve it???
Please help because it is really annoying...
Hi,
May be that the change of Rom is only a coincidence?
It is not excluded that the touch screen of your blackstone can be a little damaged.
I have a pda that sometimes have the same problem, but I not updated any Rom to it.
Simply I stressed his touch screen with some abnormal pressure (I think).
thanks for reply...
It's funny because it works fine all day but suddenly you need to write a SMS or just answer the call, but that is not possible.
Well the screen might been damaged but it's weird because when I start calibrating the screen I tap the cross and it's not moved...
What can I do?
Same problem
I have same problem and I didn't make any ROM update. I didn't install any new software, but suddenly my screen started to be unaccurate and shifted somehow. calibration helps but after while it's shifted again. I was thinking about updating ROM, but if this is not a solution, then I don't want to ...
Well I send my phone to repair. They said that it was a mechanical issue so I think you should send it also due it looks like this is the only way to solve this problem. I hope you still have your phone under guarantee...
Oh and make sure whether you need original ROM or you may use the changed one, because in Slovenia you need stock ROM and no programs installed (like Garmin etc.). So the best think to do is to hard reset the phone and then send it to repair, so you don't have any problems...

Not Unlock after StandBy

Hi All, I have a problem with my HD2 I Update the radio to 2.15.50.4 and when I want to unlock the screen the touch do not respond, i back the radio 2.12.50.2 and the same thing not unlock, anyone Know what is the problem, sorry for my english and Thaks to all.
I change the Rom Too and the same thing, for reference.
Try turning it on with the green button instead of the red one. Mine was doing this, had to send it in, it's a hardware problem between the buttons and the digitizer. Needs to be replaced if it's the same problem. Seems somewhat common. Even flashing back to full stock didn't fix it, it was definitely a hardware issue for me. If you're changing roms, and it's still happening, that doesn't sound good.
Sorry for the bad news, it sucks.
Thanks Willr001, Look similar to your problem and it's the same thing, with the rest of the buttons don't have the problem, how much cost to you to fix the problem??? and thaks for your answer, thanks to you now can unlock my cell, with problem but can unlock.
I don't get how it could be the buttons if you're able to get in to MAGLDR using the power button?
The problem will keep getting worse, I think it will next stop working with the green button, mine took like 4 days from the time the red button stopped working to the green button stopping.
The red button still works fine, it just makes it so the touch screen doesn't work, so MAGLDR would still work fine.
I don't know how much it costs to fix, I'm not sure if it's the buttons, screen, or motherboard that needs to get replaced. Mine was under warranty, so they fixed for free.
HTC knows it's a defect, if you're under warranty, their service center may do it for free.
Thanks for the answer, yea the i can go MagLDR with the red button, and unlock with any other button exept the red, I will verify if si still in warranty for make the same that you, by the way do you think the posibility of change to WM 6.5 to look if the problem remain in that Rom?
You could try, when it happened to me I flashed another WM6 rom, still happened, so then I flashed the original Stock T-Mobile/HTC rom. When it still happened there, I knew it was broke. Made it easy to send back though, because I'd put the stock rom on (warranty people like to see stock roms).
i can't see this is cause by hardware failure. It seems to be a hardware buttons mapping problem so its mean just the software.
I think too that is software problem because I don't need to prees the button to block the screen, only with touch on the button without press is enought to stop function the screen, but i don't have warranty Yet, so I try to solve this for my own, I apreciate all help that you can give me.
i9m having the same problem, i fixed permission and then all buttons wont work. ill try to reinstall the rom and see if the problem will be resolved. im so depressed right now.

[Q] Touchscreen problem

Hi,
i have a problem with the milestone 2 of my wife.
Part of the screen is not working, a half-circle, starting from "settings" button to th "home" button.
All that's left is working. And i don't think it's hardware related, because there is schratches or damages on the screen.
I have installed the EngleMars's kitkat rom wich work great; but problem is still here.
I have tested three rom, the issue remain.
Has anyone encounter this problem or a similar one, or is there any hope of recovering the screen?

It looks like dying digitizer(touch screen). I had a same problem on Milestone 1. Sometimes it help when you put your phone to a sack of rice so that it will suck moisture. But eventually you will need to replace it.
