TyTN Internet Sharing with XP Laptop fail - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hi all,
Strange and mysterious problem here. I recently acquired a cheapo BT dongle using the ISSC chip (and running the Widcomm stack). I have paired the laptop with my TyTN, and for some wierd reason, I can't get Internet Sharing via BT to work. The Personal Area Network profile connects, but the TyTN seems to stop responding to the laptop after assigning the necessary DHCP settings to the laptop. I've also tried manually setting the server on the laptop to no avail. I've also tried the BlueSoleil stack to no success.
I have used Internet Sharing on my desktop and and it works fine.
Any suggestions on how to get this working?

Bluetooth Activesync?

Has anyone succeeded yet, I've got a belkin bt card F8T002 and xp, I can get the devices to bond but that's it, no sync. When I try from xda2 i get some message saying the port may be in use. Also the belkin info says I should be able to see several icons from My Bluetooth Places, I've got nothing, and after I set up the configuration, the information doesn't seem to be saved, when I re-enter the configuration I have to put it all in again.
It's a bit of a bugger really
Hy!
I've an xdaII.
I've the same problem with the USB Dongle's 3Com : 3CREB96B (on my PC).
Activesync doesn't initialisate, but i can send and received files by transfer without activesync.
I borrowed a Blue Tooth dongle from a friend at work. I got the ActiveSync running fine after a bit of messing about. It worked fine both for browsing and syncing with outlook
I only got it to work by selecting 'Connect via Bluetooth'. As this was some days ago and I've not yet had the chance to borrow the BT dongle again I'm not quite sure what I did.
However IMHO Bluetooth is one of the worst connection systems I've had to work with in a very long time .... Last time it was this bad was when you had to use a third party TCP/IP stack with Windows 3.1
Bluetooth Sync
unpair your XDA II and your PC. Then modify the below registry and pair again. After Pairing, run your Activesync in your XDA II and click Connect via Bluetooth in the tools
\HLKM\SOFT\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Activesync
IsBTASsetup from 0 to 1

Missing Wireless Modem app, trying to use BT fax

I seem to be missing the Wireless modem app. Supposed to be in the programs folder, right? Using vp3Gs WM6. I'm trying to use my 8525 as a bluetooth fax. I have been searching the threads and internet, all instructions point to this program, but I don't know why it is not on my phone. Also, when I discover available services on my phone from my laptop, Dial up networking does not show up, how come? Please help.
Edit: DUN and internet sharing now working, still working on BT fax
DUN
With WM6 you have Internet Sharing. DUN is no longer included.
If you hook up your laptop via the USB cable to the phone and run Internet Sharing you will be fully connected to the internet.
Good luck mate,
Andrew
OK, thanks for the help. Now what about using the phone as a bluetooth fax modem?

Well so it should on WM5 as well be but for some reason i can only use the internet sharing via bluetooth only when
1. launch internet sharing on Tytn and connect with Bluetooth PAN
2. Launch mobile internet explorer and navigate a page or 2 on the tytn.
3. launch bluetooth network connection onlaptop and connect.
4. restart IE or Firefox on laptop and cross your fingers,
it never has worked when doing via USB.
annoying because i run out of power often when using bluetooth for any legnth of time
BT Fax
If you do a search in the WM6 forum you will see a post about BT DUN on WM6. I got it working for my TomTom 910, BT Fax ought to be the same.

Bluetooth fax?
OK, so far, so good.
I used the above links and got internet sharing and DUN to work over bluetooth. Any info on getting BT faxing to work. When I go to my laptops (Dell xps m1210) control panel, phones and modems, I see BT modem, and BT faxmodem, but when I query them under the diagnostics screen, it says the modem fails to respond.

Internet Sharing Hermes WM6

I'm trying to use my WM6 Black 8525 as either Bluetooth or USB modem. Cannot connect to my Thinkpad T60 laptop built-in Bluetooth as it only has Active Sync Bluetooth Service nor my Vista finds any devices that support PAN.
Any ideas would be helpful. Thank you in advance!
in vista do not try to get the modem over bluetooth working as pan. Do it as a dial up connection from the settings in internet explorer. On my hp I just partnered the bluetooth then went to add connection in ie. i found it with no trouble. I think it must be very dependant on the bluetooth stack on your pc. On my hp there is a process running called BTStackServer.exe that is doing it. On my dell this is not the case and it just will not work. In that case I use the wireless modem program built into the phone with a usb cable. following the instructions in help gets it to work fine.
I have also used the usb method on two xp desktops so it works just about everywhere.
With the pan, i think the problem with windows mobile devices is that they are acting in the same direction as a pc would. They are looking for a device, not acting as one. I bought a bluetooth dongle for one of my xp machines and installed the bluesolie software (stack?) and both ends showed the other as a pan device but both ends just waited for the other to expose their functionality until they timed out. i tried it with a hermes and a trinity.

help needed on using internet on my laptop

i was wondering if some one could be kind enough to help me out with connecting the blue angel to the laptop n use its internet on the laptop . i tried using the ir modem tried it with bluetooth and the cradle as well none seems to be working..kindly advise plz

Problem creating Bluetooth PAN

I have tried and tried, read many articles but have become more confused.
I have an iMate JAQ. Its connecting successfully to the active sync of my lappy through bluetooth. I want to create a Bluetooth PAN, its getting detected as a NAP Access Point in the personal area settings too.
But when I click on Connect, it says that it was unable to connect to the device. The device may already be in use with the computer or some other device.
I have tried:
- Disconnecting from Active Sync, then trying to connect
- Changing the ip of Bluetooth PAN driver in my JAQ to 192.168.0.3 and that of my PC's Bluetooth PAN connection to 192.168.0.4
No success.
Can anyone please help?
Some progress
I found out my device is an AKU3 (so PAN is coupled with GPRS through internet sharing). I dont want to share my GPRS...I just want to create a PAN so that I can view and transfer shared files in my PC. Currently its possible only through cable
