Tcpmp Youtube Help

Can you guys help me out? Im haveing a problom, I have owned a Q, a Htc touch, and now i made a switch over to the Mogul.
On all these phone i installed Tcpmp and its flash bundle and got them to work on the first try. But for some reason i cant seem to get it to work on my Mogul. Could somebody please upload the correct files? I might be using the wrong ones. Good lookin out, This forum is Ill as F$%K and you guys get super props

Dude, try a google search for the RvBCrS_HTC_Streaming_Media.cab. I have the mogul and tried all of the other options found in the forums to no avail. I finally came across the HTC player and I have had no problems watching videos from youtube mobile. I actually have the cab but got a problem trying to upload here pm me if you want it from me.

Or if you want a better solution, you could just download the program called vtap. It is working great on my Mogul, and its easier to use than TCPMP and Flash plugin (which i used to use). just search vtap on google.

The files you're using are correct, I use the same ones (TCPMP and FlashVideoBundle). What do you mean by not working? Perhaps some specific details would give us more clue on what the problem could be.

when I click on a video it takes me to its comment page. my bundle issent working cause it usually installs a e explorer page with othe compatable sites but that doesent show up.

Here is the ones I have, you can try it out and see how it works, it works great for me but I do have the htc 6800 from alltel not sprint. Just remember to change the file associations in the settings to include mms and http protocol.

Just try to do it all over. Uninstall everything. Install TCMP..then the plugins...then restart ur phone and try it again.

ALOT of people are using the old flash bundle. It wont take much searching but on ppcgeeks there is a newer version. It worked out alot of the kinks and I get flawless youtube and google vid. Make sure you are using the .17 rom as well. The original Sprint rom sucks hudge balls and has tons of problems with video playback.

I tried using this cab...and I installed it on my phone...restart my phone...and Youtube still doesn't work?
I have the same AT&T Tilt 2 you do...did it work for your phone?

I think this is an issue on many phones, not just the Tilt 2. I work in Technical Support. Customer with a Sprint HTC Hero was unable to use YouTube. Searched forums, many have had the same issue since beginning of Decemebr, give or take a few. I tried on my Tilt 2, got the same exact error as the customer, and all the forums. Got info from Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint users, all with the same issue on Youtube. So this one, I would assume is Youtube, not the phones.

Which ROM are you using?

Hey I'm running the Stock At&T Tilit 2 ROM, and I also ran the CAB first and it didn't work. The Cab seems to be missing a couple registry edits?? Any hoot, I installed a free registry editor on my PC so I could make the registry edits on my PC once synced to the Tilt2 as illustrated in the how to thread. Oh oh when it says change value to [BLANK] it means leave no character in that field....nothing. Oh oh #2, the third edit change requested, on my tilt2 there was 2 identical strings, I made the same changes to both, and BANG! it has played every video requested within 10sec. since I made these changes. It appears that the registry is not updated to the way AT&T does thing now here, because it's pointing the YouTube App to some old dead Cingular site??? Let me know if you need help...sports

A little off topic, but would someone know if there is a way to launch the Tilt 2's youtube app from a link? I usually open youtube links in Skyfire, but if there is a way to open the native youtube app on the Tilt 2, it would be great.

Quick questions

Hey guys, got a couple of questions quick so any help would be great =)
I know you can set people's contact card pics as their facebook profile pic, i've done this for everyone successfully, just wondering if there is any way to make it auto-update (i have unlim data plan), or a way to update everyone on one click, the only way i can update them now is to go to each individual, open their online albumn, then edit the contact card, and let the new pic download, surely there's a faster way?
Also when i'm viewing a conversation between me and another person (in text messages in HTC Sense), it takes forever to load, and i can't type a message till all of them have loaded, and there's a 160+ for each person so they all load pretty slowly, surely there's a work around so i can type whilst it loads?

Edit: oh there was another thing, if i browse someones facebook photos, can i set any photo as the contact card picture rather than just the profile picture?

ansew to first question myne automatically updates, to the second question www.htc.com have a ROM update to prevent the sms issue

My HD2 came from T-mobile so i can't upgrade the rom can i? =[

im no expert myself, im a newbie. but from experience you go on to htc website choose hd2 and all the updates are there. mynes on t-mobile to cant see that being a problem.

you will be able to download updates, but youwon't be able to download roms from the htc website, it will give you an error when you input your serial.
read through the forum, there are numerous threads about updating rom when you are provider locked.

i have already upgraded the ROM, my phone wasnt directly from t-mobile weather that makes a difference i dont no.

Ah, so if it is vendor unlocked then yes, you should be able to use the htc website. 1.66 i think is the latest.

this forum. (in brief - install hspl will let you install any rom, go hunt and do some reading, then when you understand what you are doing, go for it. )

When I'm downloading updates from HTC's website, it says select location closest to you, should I select europe 1 or 2 (I'm in london)

Doesnt matter, thats just which server sends you the file.

Also my HD2 keeps freezing now, it just slows right down for no reason, sometimes when it'd idle over night, after i've finished from a call, and sometimes out of the random, i keep having to soft-reset but now it's getting ridiculous

Only more than three alarms with 3rd party alarm software (cant recommend, i dont use more than three, sorry)
As for slowdown, first off disable the flip clock when you return to home page, (search for disable manila flip) secondly if wifi is on that can make it sluggish when you wake it from sleep as it reconnects.

I'm thinking about installing a cooked rom, i'm pretty sick of this ****ty t-mobile rom.....phone freezes up constantly, slows down etc.
Will flashing a cooked rom complete wipe everything off the phone, texts, contacts, photos, music, apps etc etc?

Official Fix For USA T-Mobile's HD2: Small MMS Receiving Problems!

Alright, guys. After calling multiple CSR's on T-Mobile's side, i've figured it out.
There's a .cab file out there, called DocHD2MMSFix.cab that just worked like a charm on my US HD2 for T-Mobile's network! i've reposted it below, and i credit ddgarcia05 for showing my this fix. i WILL credit the Dev after i find out who you are.. :b
so, ladies and gents, install the attached .cab file, and soft reset your HD2, and hopefully it works as well as it did on mine! i'm running energyrom with cookie's hometab, dev'd on may 22nd, and it just worked out nicely. =]
i'm hoping that it'll work out on the devices running different rom's because i know alot of you out there are suffering.. D:
Post if this worked, or didn't work at all! make sure you include the rom that you are using, the Dev. date of the rom, and a link to the original rom page would be excellent! =]

There's actually several cabs floating around for this, including ones for previous builds of WM/Sense, on various models of HTC phones. Almost all of them are titled with some variant of "Tmobile MMS fix". It's a common fix that's been around for a while....they might all have the same root origin, but the regedit at the source of the fix has been cabbed up by many different devs by this point.

Might you know what needs to be changed exactly in the regedit? I can't seem to find the usual arcsoft settings in the registry. I've tried sending an MMS to myself, and it's pretty small and doesn't seem to take up the whole screen.

I can crack one open when I get home...it's the setting that sets the "user agent" I believe (what phone type)...for some reason spoofing it to various nokia phones seems to let arcsoft send a bigger MMS pic.

I'll test it.
EDIT: Just sent a 769k pic to my phone (without the cab) and received it at 96k, filling like 3/4 of the screen. I installed the cab and re-sent the exact same pic and received it the exact same way, except at 94k this time. It can be viewed on fullscreen once you save the pic to the phone or sd card.

Is this suppose to fix the slideshow/landscape mode when receiving MMS? If so, this did not fix it. I have tried every fix here on XDA and still can't get that fixed

I will also suggest to edit the title because It's not "Official". This might make some people once they see it doesn't work for them. BTW how do you revert it?

Same with me. I guess the only way to view the full size is to save it. Kind of a hassle though

I noticed when I send my GF a text (she also has the HD2) It does not resize the file at all, but when I send to someone else if the file size is a little big they never get it!? I found a setting in the sms menu that has helped out considerably. Go to all messages/menu/setting/options scroll down to photo resolution, then pick a resolution. I set mine to WVAG because sometime i send pictures to her and she likes setting them to her background or lock screen

SirPhunkee, what is this cab supposed to fix specifically. i am having trouble following the convo. Is it automatically reducing the file size of the MMS?! Maybe it might be stuck on a really low setting I mention above ^

It makes a picture sent to you by someone else (apparently who doesn't have an HD2) viewable in full screen.

i agree running kumar 2.1 may 6th and the image is sized at 117 kb out of 300 kb and the picture is still small.

Awesome cab that was given to in a reply in the Energy thread. It removes the 300k limit at sets it at 5mb. It'll be uploaded onto my stick as well, enjoy.

i am using NRG rom. the lates 22.May and this is the only cab. than realy fix the mms size problem. and now have landscape support if you resived the pic. on portrait.

@toreone and everyone else- what the the DaDoc MMS fix cab does is exactly what I was remembering; it changes the user agent in the registry, which apparently is relevant somewhere to how images are resized...but I honestly don't know exactly where/how. Could be the network, could be the phone, could be the MMS client or sense, I can't say for sure. But what I can say is this tweak has indeed worked for many users on various WM hardware.
Here's the registry changes it makes, I just cut and pasted this from the link ddgarcia posted above:

As you can see, changing the UserAgent to the "NokiaN95" profile is part of the secret sauce here. Also noteworthy is the fact that it refers to the Jataayu MMS client.
I just saw the most recent cab ddgarcia posted above, while I was composing this, and that's another of the ones I've seen. However, taking a peek in it reveals that 1) all the reg changes are related to size limit settings like he mentioned (bumps it up to 5MB, even though that's beyond the 1MB limit of tmo's network), 2) they refer to the ArcSoft MMS client, and 3) they make no mention of the UserAgent etc. I'll post it too if anybody wants a peek, but it's kinda long. My suggestion...run them both, but test after each, and I suspect you'll see a difference after one if not both. Or not lol.
Again, these regedits have nothing to do with the issue where MMS images end up being displayed on the HD2 as a slideshow, and in forced landscape. I know I've seen that brought up in other threads before, not sure if any solution was reached.

Yea this is what i would really wante to get fixed. Hopefully a solution to fix this comes soon

I am using the cab provided form the elegancia ROM page. When I get mms pictures sent from my girlfriend's iphone, it does not fill up the whole screen, but only about 3/4 of the screen. It could just be because the photo resolution taken with the iPhone's camera is too low? I will try sending an mms from another HD2, and see if it fills up the whole screen or not. [Q] MMS Recieve Issue - Audio Messages

Ok, I've spent the better part of the weekend searching the this site on a possible answer to my issue, no luck. So maybe someone can help or point me the right direction to a solution.
My Issue: I use MMS audio messaging , I can send messages (around 288K) with no issues but receiving them (same file size) only half is able to download and only 8 sec. of it plays. NEVER had this issue with my original HD2.
Little background: My original HD2 , stock ROM, WinMo 6.5 - the mini usb broke off the motherboard, tried to fix it, no luck, bought another "T-Mobile US HD2" but this one has the 3.14.531.1 update with the jataayu software my original had ArcSoft software as I'm sure you all know this. I went through the registry to be sure some changes weren't made incorrectly (none that I could see) and all the different connection steps/suggestions with no luck but haven't completely wiped my connection settings clean, maybe I should start from scratch ?!?
So, I know most of you are "pros" here because you've help me in the past solve, fix or change things on my HD2 to make it a great phone ...and it still is today.

OK, I figured out a work around. I have to save my received MMS audio file (.amr) and then I can play it in full length using TCPMP. For some reason the AudioPicker/Player in the HTC Messaging Client or Jataayu software will not play audio messages in full length. It only allows 8 seconds of play. Also noted, I read several people that receive photos have to download and save them to be able to view them in full size, possible same issues??. Seems weird.
