Charmer hangs after phone is turned on - MDA Compact II General

Hi guys!
I'm using vlodeck's TouchFlo-ROM and my Charmer didn't show any problems so far.
Now I got the strange issue, that Windows "hangs" as soon as I switch on the phone. The screen slowly turns off (looks like it's dimmed) and Windows starts again. As soon as I activate the phone, same problem again.
I've done a couple of soft-resets as well as a hard-reset. Any ideas how to fix this?
(maybe installing AKU 3.3 or a new GSM/radio-module?)

ok, after flashing AKU3.3 my Charmer is working again. I do miss wm6, but I'll stay with wm5. :-(

Problems with rebooting of MDA Vario

I have a problem and I hope someone can help me.....
First of all I have been having problems when soft-resetting my MDA Vario. When soft-resetting my device, it freezes when starting up. I have the following programs installed:
Wisbar Advance 2
SBSH PocketBreeze
SBSH PocketWeather
Windows Live Messenger Beta
I haven't found out what is causing the problem, but everytime it freezes I have to hard-reset my device which is totally getting frustrating!!! Usually it takes me about an hour to reinstall everything again, sync my contacts, tweaks in my registry and so on.
Has anyone else been having this problem or knows what is causing it to do this???? I'm just reinstalled everything again and everything is running smooth again, but I'm afraid to soft-reset my device again because I'm afraid it will freeze again on startup. Furthermore, everytime I sync my device I have a pain in the royal to get my contacts back the way they are....
I'm open to any suggestions! Thanks in advance!!
Freezing
Try not re-installing one of them after your next hard-reset.
It it no longer freezes - you have the culprit.

I have a feeling that it's WLM that is causing the problems. I know I shouldn't have installed it, but once you use it your hooked! Going back to the old Pocket MSN is like trading in a Ferrari for a old Toyota Corolla... although the old Corolla is like old fateful and won't let you down, driving a Ferrari is like a dream!
Anyway.... I will try rebooting when I get home and see if I find out the problem. Have you had this problem too ? Or is it just me ? I've done some searching and it seems that others have the problem but haven't been able to pin point it.
I just hope I can uninstall the WLM beta off my device without hard-resetting it.....
One thing I noticed on my device is that when you boot it up and leave it alone it will crash, but if you touch the screen or press a button every 30 seconds or so it boots up fine.
Think it is something to do with the standby setting after x seconds, if thats disabled it boots up ok.
Thanks for your reply!
I reinstalled everything on my phone again... getting to be a real pain reinstalling everything. Anyway, my vario works fine now with WLM, that did seem to be the problem.
But, how did you manage to disable the standby setting ??? And how did you find it out??? Have you tested this enough to know that this is the cause?
Maybe there is a registry tweak that will help, can anyone say which adjustment is necessary in your registry???

S200 Hanging every now and then

I have Qtek S200 for 3-4 months.
First I had wm5 2.20.7.34. The phone used to hang sometimes. Usualy if the wifi was on and I suspend it it will hand when I wake it up. The screen stays lit and no button/touchscreen works. The power button also wont work so I had to do SR.
I thought upgrading to wm6 will fix the problem and I tried pda mobiz 20.b3 and b4.
The phone still will hang sometimes. Finlay I installed Prophet Touch v6. Its great rom but it also hangs and sometimes its 2 times in a day..
There is no way to predict when it will happen but usualy its more often when I use Internet gprs or wifi. Most often when I use the wifi( I guess
I have upgraded to the latest Radio ROM but I cant see any diference.
So my question is, How often u guys get hangs on your prophets?
Is this normal?
Is there a way to make it work with no hangs at all or this is the way it is?
Im not using overclocking and the phone usually hangs when its left alone not while I use it.
In wm5 it usually used to hang right after I wake it from suspend while in wm6 I just cant wake it, it stays dark.
Well, when I had the original i-mate ROM I almost never needed to do an SR, unless I was really messing with it.
Then I tried PDAmobiz b4 and I got the phenomenon you describe:
Some times I would turn on the device and notice the clock was an hour or two behind and the device would not respond. Basically it hanged quietly and I didn't even know.
After suffering this for a week I changed the ROM to my current PDAViet 4.0.0.0.6 Touch and it seems fine so far (better then the original).
Perhaps a different ROM, maybe a WM 5 not 6 will work for you.
Also you should see what kind of programs are running in background on your device. Maybe one of them is the problem.
Actually I had the problem u described with the original wm5 ROM not with the wm6 roms.
The thing is that the original rom had many other problems and for this reason I dont want to go back to it.
For example I could connect with gprs without problems but after disconnecting I was unable to connect again. The device was saying "The answering modem has disconnected" or one of 2-3 other messages like that I was in a phone session and so on. The only solution was to restart the phone app...
The phone dialer was terribly slow. When pressing the dialpad buttons it was taking about a second for the phone to respond
Also I noticed that the same problem u described when the device freezes just after wakeup will generally happen if the wifi was left on.
If I switched it off I had almost no freezes.. but u know Ive got this phone to use its network capabilities and it looks like the network part was most buggy
All this is about the original wm5 qtek rom.
With wm6 I only have this case when the phone dont want to wake up. It just stays dark when I press the power button.
It will also freeze somethimes when I work but not very often..
Currently I use Prophet Touch v6 by gullum
I few months ago I have read that windows has some delay bringing up the sd card online after suspend and that this may cause problems if some program tries to read the Storage card before its online. For that reason there was suggestion to install all system and most used programs in the internal storage.
Now I have noticed that SPB Insight was installed on the storage card and I use its today plugin so I reinstalled it to the internal storage to see if this will help.
I have the same problem
Please help me to find out why my S200 hanging and hanging and hanging
i have got same problem in my prophet...my model is orange m600............is there anybody to help....

BA Screen Goes Black after So Much Usage

I've had a strange problem with my BA (SX66) with both the WM5 and WM6 ROMs.
After about a weeks usage and when browsing the Web using WIFI, the WIFI icon at the top of the screen flashes and then my screen goes black. If I try to reboot, it sticks on the Green Windows Mobile screen.
I have to clear the hive, and reboot losing all my data.
Has anyone else had this problem? I don't know if this is a hardware or software problem.
well here i have the same problem but mine is battery related (i think)
Xplode, thanks for taking the time to answer. We greatly appreciate the work you do on the BA.
My first thought was that it was battery related. However, I think it happened to me once on a nearly full charge. I did the No, Yes, Yes hard reset and will test it once again.
I wish HTC would make a Blue Angle II with 3G.
I cold booted my BA and didn't add the HTC Home cab. It appears that the HTC Home cab was causing the problem. I ran the phone for several weeks without HTC Home and I haven't had a problem with it locking up.
Now I'm trying Helmi's ROM with Explodes HTC Home.

I had this problem b4 when it stuck in the green windows mobile screen. I thought it was backup software issue, but then realise that a lot of people had this issue with different circumsatances...
the only solution worked for me was to clear the hive and restore backup data. Some people suggested in the forum somewhere (I forgot which one) that you have to go to bootloader screen, and then reset... or keep reseting until it works (i think some dude did it 18 times and finally worked )
It happened to me about 5 times on helmi's rom.
since i moved on to minhanh's rom, never had this issue anymore, but i still keep doing a lot of backups, just in case it happens again.
Now, I am waiting for Xplode's new up and coming rom and hopefully this issue will never occur again

Bluetooth hardware fault?!

Hi,
Got a Vario 2 running TNT 2.0 Pro pp6 ROM.
Its brand new and was working great with TomTom 6 and my 32 channel bluetooth GPS device.
Then after two days of having the phone, Bluetooth radio would not turn on at all - i.e. in comms manger when selecting Bluetooth it starts loading and then goes back to disabled.
In Bluetooth settings, trying to enable and find a device comes back with bluetooth hardware failure. I therefore thought it was faulty as was goign to send it back.
A Hardware reset does not fix it, nor does flashing back to orginal WM5 rom.
However...
Removing the battery for over 6-7 hours and then restarting the device, bluetooth comes on from boot up and works fine. Then if bluetooth is turned off or the phone reset for any reason it will not turn on again until the battery is taken out for 6-7 hours again! WTF!?
Since then I have also found that starting Tomtom 6 (which hangs or goes realy slow as it cannot start the bluetooth radio), if while tomtom is booting i then go into comm manger and start bluetooth it eventually turns bluetooth on! BUT no devices are then discoverable.
Again take battery out for 6-7 hours and bluetooth is ok at start again!
Any ideas whats going on?
Is there an bluetooth radio/stack that can be upgraded to try differnt drivers etc?
Cheers
T-Mobile Vario 2
Super SID
TNT 2.0 Pro PP6
Radio 1.16.00.00
No one had the same fault then?
Time to take it back for a new one!
Yep, same here.
Was using Tomtom at the time, and it just lost connection with the Bluetooth GPS. Ever since, Bluetooth will not turn on - Blue LED flashes, but it stays turned off and fails with a bluetooth hardware error message..
I've flashed new ROM's and done hard resets, and never managed to get BT back again. Never actually had a chance to try leaving the battery out for so long though, should give it a try.
Andy.
exactly the same problem here, if I try to search for new devices to pair I get a "Problem with Bluetooth Hardware" error
So has anybody got any idea what could cause this?
Really doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I managed to get it working again briefly, as per instructions in first post, but never again since.
A reflash surely sets the RAM/ROM back to default state, and leaving the battery out is obviously resetting the hardware in some form. What I don't understand is why it happens in the first place, and why leaving the battery out would fix enough for it to work again, albeit briefly, but then not again til another removal of the battery.
In all my 30 years or so of playing with electronics hardware it makes little sense to me.
Andy.
I'm glad I'm not the only one stumped by this.
I just can't understand how it can work perfectly well and then all of a sudden stop working. I've tried 5 different radio and OS roms in the last 2 days and they all have the same problem.
Madness
I was using the Schapps WM6 ROM and had this same issue to a t. Installed official HTC WM6 ROM and problem solved. Point blank though, Windows Mobile sucks, I'm going back to my Symbian V3.
I have this same problem.
I had my BT working fine - connected to my PC for AS, and to my BT GPS. But, now it won't start up.
Using Comm Mgr, or connex-BT doesn't work.
Any solutions?

have the same Problem Anyone an Idea for this

TyTN, WM 6.5, Accidential Hard-Resets

Hi!
I have a weird problem with my Hermes. But no idea to solve this.
Sometimes my PDA starts to work a little weird, for example - objects in Pocket Outlook are unavailable, call registry doesn't work, ActiveSync on PDA causes error which cannot be fixed.
And after soft-reset (turn off and turn on) WM is being hard reset. I'm using QuePPC's WM builds and any of them has the the same weird thing. But I'm not so sure if doesn't happen on any ROM.
Whatever - sometimes only little parts of data are cleared - last time the PDA reset, some programs are still available. Earlier (a few months ago) I had hard reset as I described but I used stylus to reset before customization began. My data was still present. And I completely have no idea what's coming on.
There are a few weeks when everything works fine and then PDA's data gets crashed.
Is that a software problem? Or Flash ROM semiconductor? Any ideas on this?
Cheers!
Flash a stock rom then reflash the wm6.5 yo want... It has something to do with memory allocation and flashing the stock rom 1st seems to fix this...
Done so, hope it helps to my TyTN.
Whatever, big thanks and have tasty beer; I've totally overlooked such a thing.
