My sms gone mad!

Hello all,
I have my Qtek S100 for about two weeks and now some friends have allerted me that they were receiving twice each sms i sent. I have now compared with the gsm-operator bill that came today and they are charging me twice for each sms.
How can i fix this, sending only one sms and not two??
Regards,
Antonio
Basically, don't close your messaging app before you get confirmation that the SMS is sent. I guess that you use SPB Plus and that you actually close the app instead of minimize it? Try to exclude it from the apps that SPB Plus closes by adding it to the list under the options for the close button.
do you have the habit to turn off the pda (power off) after you send an sms?
The reason being, if the sms is not sent, i.e. you don't see the "message sent" bubble, and you turn off, the next time when you turn on again, it'll resend again.
I think you are using SPB pocketplus aren't you ?
Open pocketplus, select close button. hit feature options. Add exeptions, search in the windows folder for TMAIL.EXE and add that.
Your problem will be solved !
problem solved, i think
thanks guys

Txt message alerts

Hello all,
I was wondering if there is any way to make a text message alert play more then once like a reminder does
the option is there but it is greyed out.
Can it be enabled somehow?
thanks in advance!
You can always edit the sound file, and just copy the info and make it into a longer file. If you don't know how to do this, contact me, and I'll do it for you.
I didnt know you can do that - thank you for the info
My wife <its her phone =) > wants it to repeat like a reminder incase she is out of the room for a long period of time - she uses it for work
You should check out SPB Phone suite. It has a feature that you can set to remind you of missed calls, texts, voicemails, emails etc... at any given interval.. So for example, you can set it to remind you every 10 min if you have a missed whatever ...
i bought spb phone suite just for the alerts options. it works perfectly for me... plus the inclusion of multiple profiles for home, work, loud, etc etc are quite nice. really quick to switch between them all too. plus it's network button on the today creen makes turning on/off wifi and bluetooth even faster.
Yeah, it's a nice program. SPB makes good software.

LongRunner v0.1 Beta - long life your battery - radio off, email sync on

The idea is: Radio consumes not unsignificant battery power, especially when you're travelling. Sometimes you dont have to be available for calls...
LongRunner turns off the radio part and keep that for defined time interval. Then it automatically sync all POP/IMAP accounts, the On interval should be long enough to even receive SMS.
Download
LongRunner.cab
(Tested on smartphone platform only, however it should work on PPC's too)
What do you think of this idea? Can it save any battery power? Can this be useful for anyone? Should I work on this or delete the project?
that's BRILLIANT!
thank you!
(Does that answer your questions? )
btw, the mail check thingy isn't necessary for everyone.. i suggest having the option to check mail and not make it the only option.
I'm currently not home to try and test this (Happy Thanksgiving everyone) but this is a great idea! I cannot wait to test this and please do continue development!
really great idea ! keep develop this project
i think it's a good idea too... i'll test it next week...
Any plans to support FlexMail sync? If you need, I can get the command FM uses to sync.
when i click start nothing happens.
Will the phone wake up automatically when someone is calling ?

If the purpose of the app is to disable the radio, hence incoming calls, then I would imagine No - it won't ring.
This is a cool Idea!
great idea as i would defenenetly use for sms.... but it is not working on my kaiser.
Will watch for updates
Whats the difference between setting to "flight mode" when no need to be avail.?
this one is automatic and will check your mail after a specific time interval...
so that you don't need to remember to put your phone on flight mode and then back.

i believe that wont happen, since sms uses radio.
this is for emails only.
correct me if im wrong OP!
It's not for emails only. SMS's and calls are the same thing. when you turn your radio back on you'll receive your messages. Emails have to be checked manually as they don't depend on the network, that's why he added the option to check emails when the radio's turned back on.
I clicked on start and nothing happened.
I have a Sprint Touch Diamond.
Make it a little a clear:
When radio off - How will incoming calls be received ?
SMS may be recd as and when I put my radio active.

you won't get incomming calls. all this does is allow you to set intervals for the radio to be turned on so that you can download your emails and sms.
i think this is what the app does
1 it disables the radio to save your battery(will disable both messages and calls)
2 it will enable the radio for a short period and check for messages
3 after the checking is done it will turn off radio again
My Tilt runs 40 hours on a charge with Flexmail running with online IMAP on 2 folders and periodically syncing 4 others. With Flexmail off, I imagine it would run well over 100 hours.
Doesn't seem like battery life is a big deal to me.. If your battery is running over 3-4%/hr, it's because of a lot of calls and or data and I don't see this program helping much in that direction.

Email send and Receive schedule

Hi
I was wondering if it is possible to set the send and receive schedule to work only during working hours. It is a bit of a pain as currently it is doing the send/receive every 15mins 24hours a day and the evening messages are more than likely junk.
If not then maybe there is a way to set a script to change the email download options and this can be set to run at the times required to turn send/receive on/off
Thanks
Sully
.
sorry, not possible
I am currently looking at mortscript but not sure if I can do it with that. I am thinking that send/receive can be set to automatic or manual and this setting must be in the reg. If I can write a little script or app that can change this reg value at specific set times therefore swithing on/off email download.
Never done anything on PPC before but I will give it a try and report back.
Sully
If your using activesync for emails then it is possible.
Open Activesync, goto Schedule, Set sync for peak times as every xminutes or as items arrive, set of peak for manual.
Then adjust peak times to suit your work day.
Works great for me.

Not so fast! I use just the program hungabunga is looking for
http://www.gudensoft.com/emailscheduler/
It can be used to automaticly change the send/recieve shedule based on the day of the week and time of day, it also supports push email.
I use it to turn my email checking off at night automaticly so it doesn't disturb me and also preserves my battery life.
tabannis you are a star, thanks just what I needed

How do you stop reminders bringing the phone out of stand-by?

Whenever I have a reminder message come up the phone automatically comes out of standby mode. If this happens when it's in my pocket then sometimes I end up accidentally "typing" and sending entire email messages without even realising. Is there an equivalent to the DisableSMSWakeUpEvent registry key that applies to reminders?
(bumpity-bump)
Anybody?

Nobody?

I have the same problem with a different twist. I have a lot of reminders in my calender and do not want the phone display to turn on when a reminder comes due. I have a long display on time set and do not want the display to come on while the phone is in my pouch and waste the battery life.

Well, there are reasons why it is very inconvenient to use autolock. I use the phone to communiate with my company's MS Exchange server. That has a security policy set on it which requires that every time the phone is brought out of stand-by, I have to unlock it and enter my password - even if it was only put into stand-by five seconds ago. That drives me sufficiently up the wall that I really have no choice but to disable autolock, so it comes out of stand-by unlocked.
There's a fix to bypass Exchange PIN requirement, maybe you could look for that instead.
