I have newest Shaps´s rom and + Memmaid and Pocket mechanic example.
I have also made many tweaks, but I don´t think so that tweaks causes this.
OS is fast and stable and there are lots of RAM free
Many games runs fine, but example my favorite game SkyForce not.
Slowing occur when game is CPU dependent and only then when I touch to screen. Example SkyForce streering is done by touching screen, so almost all time game running 3/5 from normal speed. Is this normal?
Edit: ATI patch not couses it.
Also example these games acting same:
Street Duel Underground Racing
Breakout 2
Dogfight
Skyforce reloaded
Siberian Strike
I have now clean pandora naked and same thing.
Please tell me is this "normal".
Yes, this is normal. It happens on all roms I tested too. It's really annoying.
you use the touchscreen to steet in skyforce? I use the D-Pad, but oddly enough, the D-Pad slows down the game too, but not the hardware keyboard.
I didnt use to have that problem before, but I had a 2 months gap where i didnt use a TyTN and the problem arised only when I bought a new one after 2 months.
So it might be a new OS/ROM issue (not custom ROM issue, but OS/ROM version).
I'd have to reload an ancient ROM to test, but im too lazy

Hi people!
I rarely play games on my Pocket PC devices, but I love to carry some games to show it off or so my daughter can use it. But with my recent device, the "Almighty TyTN" I've noticed severe choppy game performance on most (if not all) titles...
According to the TyTN specs it's supposed to be clocked at @ 400 Mhz (I know there are rumors that it's in fact clocked @ 300 Mhz or so...) which in any case should be penty for gaming... Right? I mean my S200 which is clocked @ 195 Mhz performed waaay better than the TyTN in some respects!!!
What gives???
The games I'm having performance problems are:
PocketNester (NES Emulator)
Arkaball
SkyForce Reloaded
Ms. Pacman
Krally (sometimes work and sometimes it doesn't)
RTMI
Worms World Party
PDAMill Solitaire 2
... and many others
Here's my info:
ROM Version: 1.35.255.2
ROM Date: 11/14/06
Radio Version: 1.18.00.10
Protocol Version: 32.55.718.01H
ExtRom Version: 1.35.255.102
Free Storage Memory: 32.96
Free Program Memory: 29.15
Best Regards,
Rayan
I have Krally insalled and it runs good, only problem is it can't handle two buttons pressed at the same time, for example accelerate and turn. it disables one of them. I also have Rayman installed and it runs flawlessly.
I got KRally, the games performance is good no slow downs or frame rate choppyness but I use the stylus and touch screem to control the game because of the 2 buttons at once bug however this results in me automatically using any turbo's i pick up.
Age Of Empires Gold 1.25 runs great too
Thanks for your responses, It seems like some software was causing these behavior. I hard reset it and all seems fine now...
Here's a tip for KRally users:
1.- Open the keyboard
2.- Start KRally in landscape mode
3.- Go to Options and assign your keys as follows: Left (down arrow), Right (Right arrow), Accelerate (A key), Turbo (Q key), Rockets (Up Arrow), Mines (Messaging), etc...
By using this control method you can use multiple keys simultaneously!
Cheers!

Now I'm excited!!!!
I have the universal but was given the Tytn (M3100) by Orange to start a new contract.
I bought Rayman years ago but I could never get it working.
Another reason then to switch to the M3100.....
Matt
So I've recently bought a Cingular Wizard, and flashed TNT wm6 rom onto it. I installed PocketGnuBoy, and some other games, but I keep running into a problem. After I play for a while, or after my phone has been on for some time, games seem to start to 'skip'. It's really weird, and its still playable, but its extremely annoying. I would assume that someone happens after a while when you have your phone on, but I have no clue what it could be. My guess that it has something to do with activesync, but I can't seem to fix this lagging problem.
By the way, if it helps, I'm using battery status to overclock my processor to 260 mhz.
if i could first comment about your overclocking program...
XCPUScalar has a much better algorithm for overclocking. you should switch.
i tried both programs and XCPUScalar is much more stable. maybe if you tried overclocking using that you wouldn't get the lag.. maybe your processor gets all crazy from the heat of overclocking after some playtime that it can't handle the pressure... to be honest.. you should never overclock to the maximum.. it burns the MOSFETS on the processor.
other than that.. notice that some games eat RAM as they go.. check the ram demand in the beginning and check the change during gameplay..
that's something you can't really overcome.
Well if I'm playing my emulator and it starts to lag, and I exit, it seems like doing everything else or playing any other game will also get the lag. Even if I dump my memory.
ok.. so if it's a function of the time... maybe it IS about the overclocking.
try changing the program and if that doesn't work maybe you should ease up on the pressure.. after all it's a 195Mhz processor and you have a few other programs running.
I don't know. I literally have no other things running while I'm playing, and I still get this problem. The only way to fix it is to soft reset, and then it will run perfectly for 10-20 minutes. I tested it with 195 mhz default, and it still does the same thing.
hmm.. i have no idea then, im sorry
Okay so one thing I've noticed is that every time it starts lagging, the little icon where the keyboard is on your screen pops up. It's not there normally when you first start the program (pocketgnuboy) so when it starts up there is no lag. I'm absolutely sure that this has something to do with it, because of the exact timing of the lag and the appearance of the icon.
Been enjoying my polaris for a couple weeks now and decided to put on a few games, but about 75% didn't work (most of the ones I really wanted to play) including, virtual pool, some other pool game, snails, girder and a bunch of others.
Most just crash out straight away, some display black screen and seem to be accepting input but need a reset to get the screen back.
Is this a known issue?
I did try searching, why no responses?
I have similar problem with snails and girders and many ohers, but I'm using uDK R1 ROM + 3D drivers, probably it's because of this in my case. But I will be happy to hear any soluion.
same problem
i've the same problem with my polaris. scummvm does not work. it starts and crashes after a second. i think it could be because of the 3D-drivers.
Not really. With TouchIT 3.6 at least the PDA Mill games worked. They don't do it anymore with Khan 1.21a. Well, I can live with that for now
Same issue, so....
bump....
Is anyone else having this. In nova 2 the left trackpad work brilliantly for the move and strafe but with the right one it doesnt keep turning for the aim it just moves like a laptop trackpad and i have to keep swiping the pad to get it to move. also in star battalion it very spazmodic on if it work or not, sometimes it will turn the ship in all directions sometimes it will forget how to turn uphill etc etc. just wondering if this is game implimentation issues or if i have a faulty handset.
yh for me too in start battalion its pretty horrible and sometimes the sensitivity seems just plain random. however playing spiderman HD, Asphalt or Gun Bros the track pads work flawlessly!
im guessing it comes down to how the devs code the apps to use the trackpads.
Im having the same issues with star battalion.
Its odd that devs are having trouble getting used to real controls again.
Optimizing for touch screens must have been a huge step backwards for them as well as the gamers who used it
do you get this problem with crash bandicoot too? i noticed i had that problem with nova and another gameloft game dont think ill buy another fps from them anytime soon try a different game.
So i'm playing Dungeon Defenders for about 45 minutes ... and the analogue touch stick stops working and my character keeps trying to run forward. When I restart the game, the Analogue touch stick just doesn't work. Happens all the time after I play on it for a bit, with other games as well. Is my phone overheating? Is there the hotfix for it. I"m on the latest version from SEUS.

Honestly, the touch stick things are a joke, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, sometimes they go loopy, I never use them and just stick to the dpad.
Shame as it would be good being able to use them without issue
my thumbpads work fine even after extended use

+1, mine work fine, I notice the odd glitch, but I know how to work around it and thus never really experience any problems with them
You can test them with this app here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045374
My touchpad works perfectly (it's actually 1 touchpad, not 2) but I did notice the problem in dungeon defenders, probably a bug.
mine work great. so do my friends. we play mc2 for over an hour for sure...
