Tmobile Wing IM Client - Wing, P4350 General

I have a Hermes but a buddy of mine just showed me his new Wing, and I kind of like the built-in Tmobile IM client that supports AIM/Yahoo/ICQ. Could anyone post a CAB file for this or know if it would even work on my Hermes? I run a standard HTC WM6 rom on my Hermes. Thanks.

managed to find it on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294821

Does anyone have the original wing .cab for AIM. I flashed a rom and it got rid of the AIM on me and ive been posting everywhere trying to find it without having to totally redo my phone with an alternate os.nb

Question for UK O2 users:

Does anyone else have problems with the O2 website (www.o2.co.uk) and gettting it to work on their handsets?
Everytime I try to get on there, I'm prompted to upgrade my Explorer and then taken to the Microsoft website where the upgrade is for the desktop version, not Mobile??
yup
Do you know what the problem is?
I've been having a rather long email discussion with various Customer Service Advisors @ O2 (you know what it's like with them), and they still have no idea what it is.
I'll post the resolve if they find out what's wrong, and if no-one else does...
You need to fool the O2 website to think you have a newer version of Internet Explorer.
Download a program called RegKing 2003. I can't remember where to find it, but just type regking XDA in google.
The program allows you to change the registry and importantly allows you to fool websites into thinking you're using IE6.
Same here but...
I have the same problem but in theory u shouldn't need to! xda has its own xda compatible website and u can recieve ur o2 mails via ur handset!
O2 have now asked me to put my SIM into another handset to see if it I get the same problem. They'll know whether it's a SIM or handset problem this way.
Bloody shame I don't know anyone else with an XDA...
Has anyone had any joy with sorting this problem out?
Can anyone actually get onto o2.co.uk through their handsets?
This is really bugging me now, and o2 are as being as helpful as a blind guide-dog.
Richard
I have tried using a piece of software called tweaks 2k2 to set pie to look like IE6, and can get onto www.o2.co.uk fine (its a bit slow though) I'd suggest you try that.

Vodafone ROM and MSN

I think I've tried just about every ROM now, except for VF which I've put on this evening (with a higher radio). I must admit it feels good and I'm very impressed...apart from MSN.
Does anyone know whether it's locked out by way of extended rom cab or if it's hard coded into the build? If it's not hardcoded, is anyone aware of which cab is causing it? I've searched everywhere but cannot get an answer other than 'go to the t-mobile rom', which is what I've just come off.
Cheers
Ant
Answered my own question...seems that they've taken it straight out of the ROM - leaving only a web link in Programs.
It's such a stupid decision for VF to take, regardless of their own plans for an IM client.

Managed to get 'round' this issue by:
1) Reverting to T-Mobile ROM
2) Copying all related MSN files from \Windows (can't remember the exact names as I'm not at the home PC now)
3) Reflashed onto the VF ROM. I don't have a A2DP headset and I have an issue with the 'G' icon which shows as not connected (yet 'U' is fine) til I connect then disconnect from GPRS. Plus I like the look of the whole VF ROM.
4) Install the pay version of MSN from Windows Mobile website, opened it but did not activate it
5) Copied over the MSN files from the T-Mobile version into \Windows
6) Soft reset
When trying again to load MSN, works as usual without the 'you must activate' messages.
Just in case anyone needed that info.
Cheers

Blackberry on the Herald

Hi ...................anyone know where I can get the BIS for the Herald? I downloaded the Tytn one, but it does not seem to work as there's no pin associated. I guess like MS voice command maybe a new version is needed to make it work. Anyone have any ideas where to get it? Thanks
This reply is a little old but download the BlackBerry Client from the below site for the Vodafone VPA Compact IV which is Vodafone's branded version of the Herald.

Is there anyway for this to work?
I have searched a lot of threads and forums, but never had a straight up answer.

Use the IM client from the T-Mobile US MDA (Wizard) ROM.
It'll install and run just fine. Won't use T-Zones though. It uses txt.
I have used OZ. Sorry forgot to mention that one.
But Its a pretty bad IM clien, and no MSN, most of my contacts are MSN.

Connection Setup for TMOUS HD2

Fellow XDA-users
Is it possible to extract the connection setup wizard from a regular HD2 and port it to the TMOUS HD2? T-Mobile has disabled this function, and the two cabs I found here in this forum do not have all countries (more specifically, neither has the settings for Brazil )
I have access to an unbranded HTC HD2 and I could try to extract the connection setup files and create a cab, if someone could show me the ropes.
Thanks in advance.
Ryplok
hm no answers yet... I'm looking for the same thing... I've only found a cab for Connection setup 1.0. .. database it's too old, as I see my Topaz has 3.1 ... does anybody know wich files I can extract from ROM to put in my TMOUS HD2?
Ryplok, did you find anything ?
I really need this too. I've been searching everywhere. I travel a lot and use a lot of different SIM cards. It would be very nice to get the connection setup wizard back.

connection setup fixed
Thanks Herlek,
I just added the connections setup wizard to my TMOUS hd2 and now it works the same as my HD did when switching sim cards/countries. I switch regularly between T-mobile in the US and China Mobile in China. The setup wizard saves a lot of hassles having to manually set the connection settings every time I travel.
I would be very unhappy with this phone if it were not for all the help I get from xda developers.
Thanks!!!!
I also want to say thanks Herlek. I was in mid travels when you posted it, downloaded your file, and it worked great in Netherlands and UK. It did not find my provider in Latvia, so I still had to add that one manually. But I go back and forth often, and this will also save me a lot of hassle!
I used the connection setup wizard here in china and everything is working fine except for the carrier name in the upper left corner of the home screen.
I just noticed that my carrier (china mobile or CMCC) is no longer properly displayed just under the start menu. All that is displayed is "????" instead of the carrier name. Anyone know what I need to do to get the carrier name to appear properly?
The phone is a stock TMOUS ROM, purchased new a couple of weeks ago. I used the connection setup wizard cab suggested by Herlek.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Links to HTC Connection Setup
The links above are for an old v1 version.
Check HTC Connection Setup v2.7 in the SysConSetupTopaz27.cab found in this post.
I'm looking for a HTC Connection Setup 3.1 which is included in several current ROMs but can't find a cab for it.
EDIT: Finally found it and posted the cab here: HTC Connection Setup PPC v3.1.2016.2829.cab.
