Ringer Help 8525 wm6 - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I recently upgraded to wm6.Since doing so anytime I press the on/off button the phone turns of the ringer and goes to vibrate . Also my comm button no longer works. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

not sure what wm6 rom your using? but, go to settings>buttons and remap them to what u want. Also, looks like you created a duplicate thread on the mobile 6 section? You should close one of these.

No mapping is available for the on /off button that I can find. The comm button i can map but thats it. Rom version 3.62.502.3 radio1.54.07.00
Any help as this is a real pain.

hmmm...is the 'ringer' in the comm mgr set to vibrate?

When this unit is in standby. 1st push of on button to turn on switches on vibrate. when unit returns to standby. Next push of on button takes of vibrate and the ringer comes back on.So every push of on/off button either switches off vibrate or on when in standby.Reverse of current setting.

I would try a different rom and see if that fixes it. Could be mapping issues. Sounds funny though.

flight mode switch

On my XV6600 I could change the reg key "flightmodeswitchbypnhendkey" then hold the phone end key to toggle the flight mode on and off. Is there a similar setup for the MDA?
Thanks
Not sure about your MDA.............
...............but on my XDA Mini S [HTC Wizard] WM5 and latest ROM - I just tap the phone signal icon to get a dialog box whixh includes a switch to Flight Mode..................

Right but...
For some reason my MDA requires calibration regularly. I think it gets messed up switching modes (landscape to portrait). This coupled with my fat fingers causes much stress when trying to simply turn the phone on and off.
Thanks
bind the attached file to a hardware buton and it switches flight-mode on and off.
VJVolublis will do this and some other stuff.

Thank You all...
Is there a way to make buttons dual action push and hold buttons? IE push and hold call end button to execute the "tel.on-off_197.exe" file?
Thanks again everyone for your help.
try a search for AEBPlus or go to http:\\ae.inc.ru for download. You can use it without registering to try or register if you are happy with it, like I am.
Thank you all very much!
Works great! I appreciate all of your help.

Setting TyTN to siloent mode/ringer off

On my imate kjam, in order to set silent mode quickly, all I had to do was to hold down the left comm manager button for a few seconds and I would be in silent mode. I have tried everything with the TyTN, even depressing the scrolling button, etc... but I can not get anything to work. DOes anyone know which key depression will place the phone in silent mode ?
Ringer Off/On Button
Hi there,
There is a free progam called VibraSwitch which you can set to any button (I have my OK button set)
If you install this you will be able to switch easily between Ringer On and Ringer Off with Vibrate On quickly and easily.
If you can't find the program let me know and I'll email you the .cab file.

Ring to Vibrate and Back

I've found *MANY* programs that do this job and many people wanting a great way to do it. Am I the only one that can just hold down my Connections button to accomplish this task?
If it's in Ringer mode and I hold down the Connections button (the one that brings up the connections manager normally) for 2-3 seconds it will change to Vibrate mode. Hold it down another few seconds and it changes back to Ringer mode.
I can't possibly be the only one that knows this....
BTW I have an AT&T 8525 version of the Hermes/TyTN
Since the 8525 doesn't come with a paper manual you can bet that most people don't know this.
Bear in mind that a lot of these programs were not written for the 8525 specifically. Undoubtedly there is another PocketPC phone out there somewhere that doesn't have this feature -- though to be honest every one that I have ever used has had a button that you could hold down to toggle vibrate on/off.

I screwed up! Volume slider not working...Is smartskey the solution?

Hi there. I opened up my Wizard (thinking I was ultra-cool) to fix a keyboard problem that I have been having (in landscape mode, the touch-screen doesn't work)...
After doing this, I landed up with a second problem. The volume slider doesn't work. Now, I can't scroll but more importantly, I can't mute calls (aka silence incoming calls, put the ringer off)
Whats the alternate solution? After several hours of research, I'm thinking this is the possibility. I can use a program like smartskey and re-assign the mute functionality to another button like the END button. For example, if a call comes in, the first time I hit END, it will silence it and the second time I hit END, it will ignore the call. Is that possible?
Please help. I am totally dependent on my wizard for EVERYTHING!

Turning screen back on when SMS comes in?

Hey guys, i noticed that when the screen turns off or goes into stand by and you recieve an SMS/MMS message, the alert sound still comes on, but the screen stays off. Is there a way to change this? It's sort of annoying having to press the top button just to see if a text message comes in. Can it be tweaked in the registry? If so, what would one have to do to change it? I have a registry editor installed on my phone so if anyone has any ideas......go ahead

Use the power on\off button on top instead of pressing the the Dial button.. it was annoying for me too but the power button does it for me and it's better than to keep the screen on during the whole call since all my calls are above five mins
bump...someone has to have some idea what can be done to fix this
If you install HDTweak ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=452505 ), you can disable the screen switching off during a call and/or make the device wake up when a new SMS is received. It works for me.
Installing HD tweak and then going to 2.2 will solve your problem.
try the hd tweak or the diamond config both have twaeks to activate the screen when you receive the sms. but be sure to lock the phone for when you have it in your pocket.
NICE!!!! thanks guys for the info, i will try this ASAP when i get home

Hi there, I disabled 1.1 and it still does not seem to work for me
However, Enabled 2.1 and that works.
Please help ...
In HDtweak, I have 1.1 disabled, 1.2 Disallow, 1.3 Disabled
The screen doesn't go off during a call. I can always press the power button to turn off/on the screen manually if i want to save battery during a long call (or not attract attention when calling on a dark street!)
