I need help!!! I have a Vario II and wanted to unlock it to use another sim, i downloaded a package called HTC_Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3a and started it. Ok now i have the big problem that when i start the MDA, only the Tri color screen appears. What can i do, do make it work again??? Maybe an upgrade, i have no idea.. Please help me, i wanna use my Vario II again, now it seems, that i can throw it in the rubbish bin. I'm absolutely hopelessly....
Ps. I also tried to update it to WM6 with the t-mobile software and with a normal one, downloaded from a link in this forum but after 1 % there is a update error 286 : The ROM Update Utility has encountered communication errors during the update process... This programm will guide you.. and so on ..
On the screen are the 3 colors and white and the Information: HERM 300 IPL-1.01 and HERM 300 SPL-1.40.0ipro

Firstly, have you tried the unbricking wiki page and followed the instructions. Be patient, read, reread and understand.
Secondly, what OS are you using (Vista, XP, W2K etc?) do you have the .net framework installed on that PC?
You (fortunately) appear to have HardSPL on the device by the sound of it so should be able to unbrick it if you follow the instructions on the wiki page.
Make sure you're using a non-vista PC with the .net framework installed and then try flashing ANY OS ONLY Rom in NBH format using the custom RUU wrapper. This should restore your device to some form of order.

Hi guys!
Somebody tried to change language (as he told me) on MDA T-Mobile Compact (PM10A) and during the process it was disconnected. Resault - it doesn't power on and only when it's connected to computer there is only "USB v1.00" on the screen.
I downloaded these files:
HTC Magician ROM Update 13 - 39.5 Mb
MagicianRadio 1.13.00 - 1.17 Mb
but when I flash MDA T-Mobile Compact I always get error mesage "Error 114: Radio Rom Update Error".
I guess it's only UPDATE files and I need ...some... basic or... full flash!? I don't know how it refers to. So if anybody have these files please post them.
Or explain to me what files I must to have for revive PPC

Is your phone sim locked? If yes, search for threads discussing the matter. Likewise search and read through the tutorials on how to perform ROM upgrades.

I have tried to upgrade my HTC 3300. I get as far as a white screen on my PDA, but after this i loose the connection with Windows Mobile Center and the machine automatically disconnects.
Then i get the error on my PC:
Error 260

UPSL is an unlocker utility so you can flash alternative ROM's
check the link - very informative.
reflashing your phone usually takes a weeks worth of reading if you care for your device.

Is there an easier way to explain this - Sorry i'm quite good working with my PC, but this was a bit greek:
All you need to do is:
1. Remove your SD card
2. Do a hard reset or clean storage (some programs like battery status block full access to your device)
3. Connect your mobile to PC and make sure that activsync connection is established
4. Start to flash your device with USPL, when DOS part end and your mobile switch to bootloader mode vista will find new device and start instaling new drivers.
5. Wait till vista finish installing new drivers and unplug your device, do a soft reset
6. Next step is to change vista drivers to xp, to do this you need to fallow this instruction:

7. After switching the drivers plug your artemis again and install USPL, there should be no more problems with connection lost (errors 260, 270)
8. When USPL instalation will finish you can flash any rom you want to your arte
Succesfully tested on my T-Mobile MDA UK now I've got WM6 WWE.

connection error
I get a connection error during flashing step 5. I have checked all connections and used different cables. Any suggestions?

What does error on Disk On Chip mean? What are we to do if we encounter such an error? error code =27
No idea, try to reboot you phone and repeat the process
I actually got the answer myself.. Said error occurs if you fail to press 0 on the boot loader portion of the ROM update process. Got WM6 now.. phone performance is a little slow than WM2003 but it is not that significant to return back to 2003se yet...

The only thing i have come across is that when i start the camera iget an error message ("Unable to initialize camera-Failed to set up camera device") can you or anyone help out pls other than that it is perfect i would like to resolve this as i tend to use the camera & video a lot...

still getting the connection error. It is the step before you turn USB off so it is on and synced before I start this step.

I have done but still getting the error messange i have tried 0.3 & 1.3 and i get the same error for both BUT am i doing something wrong?
did you try to restart the phone after selecting the 0.3 driver ?

Unlock Error on SPV C500
I have tried searching the forum and cannot seem to get the answer i'm looking for but forgive if i have missed it:- When using SDA_Aplication_Unlock iI get this errror message (Phone cannot be unlocked) as soon as you click (Remove Lock) can any one shed some light pls.
I have even tried sim unlocker - or it it that simple that this phone just cannot be unlocked?

The easy way if you can get the bootscreen is to flash using a memory card,
there's plenty of guides.
copy hermimg.nbh into SD card max 1 GB and press Power+OK and rest with your pen in rest hole

I have a O2 XDA IIs (same as the imate PDA2K.. etc etc)
what I want to know is, how to install a newer version of O/S in this device, what to do and how to.. im new to this, i would need some help..
what would be the first step if i want to reload or load a newer ROM?
how would i install the operating system, where can I get the WM6.1?
thanks.. please help me, the problem is that my device keeps hard resetting itself on random ocassions.. sometimes when the bluetooth is turned on it goes off, etc etc.. its pretty unstable at the moment.. so i thought i should install a newer operating system.. right now i have the windows mobile 6 in the device.
In short, i want to re-install everything.. and also upgrade to 6.1... was reading the wiki.. there is no where mentioned as to how to re-install? :S im sorry im new to this..
Reinstalling
You have to follow the wiki, it is very clear. To install a 6.1 ROM you have to download it from the forum (replace the nk.nbf file from the wiki with the downloaded one). I use Sundream's, but there are at least a couple more.

Yeah you see, when I go there.. it asks which o/s im currently using, i already have wm6 installed.. i just want to re-install.. can you people just write in steps.. i will look at the wiki for the details.. just the minor details.. what has to be done.. step1 step2 etc..
just put your BA to bootloader mode, connect the cable, then execute the BA Upgrade Tools and wait...done
Same steps
Follow the wiki as if you were upgrading from WM5. That wil re-install WM6. If you want to upgarde to WM 6.1 do the same but replace the nk.nbf with a 6.1 ROM from the ones in the forum.
