invoking slide 2 unlock instead of keylock - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus General

I am currently using the slide to unlock program and I love it, however I was trying to replace the factory keypad lock with the slide to unlock and i cant get it to work. If i got to start, settings, lock, I am unable to disable this factory lock, the check box is ghosted. so no matter what I do, whenever i restart the phone I have to enter my unlock code. I would like to just slide it to unlock it. I tried renaming the the s2u2.exe to endkey.exe and moved it over to the windows directory on my touch dual, still when i reboot i get the original keypad unlock.....any tips?

I installed S2U2 yesterday.. before that I did not use the builtin lock.
After installing S2U2 and starting it.. it locked..
It also locks after the set timeout value. I guess it is not linked to the factory lock app. So you need to use the S2U2 / Settings to use it.
Using the 'endkey.exe' functionally is as I believe to lock it usinge the call end key (holding it down for some time).
Hope this works for you

unfortunatly not, i still have the factory lock that overrides s2u2 whenever i turn the phone off and on

i'm using S2U2 0.96 as well and don't have this prob. fyi, i have:
settings > personal > lock > (checked) lock device if inactivity for 12 hrs
settings > system > lock device > (uncheck) auto lock device
(as i'm not using an English device, the above translated screen labels may be incorrect)

I tried renaming the the s2u2.exe to endkey.exe and moved it over to the windows directory on my touch dual, still when i reboot i get the original keypad unlock.....any tips?

you need to overwrite endkey.exe with resco explorer. for me it worked.
but i think s2u2 was the reason why my device sometimes didn't woke up, so i don't use it anymore.

Numeric Lock

I decided to use the 'lock' icon...and set up my phone with a numeric lock. Now I absolutely HATE it....
Is there any way I can stop the phone from using the numeric lock?
Also, if I download and decide to use that sliding unlock program, will that override the numeric lock if there's no way the phone can stop using the numeric lock??

Goto start menu, settings, I think Lock is on the first screen to turn it off. If you use slide to unlock there is no input to unlock. just the slider.
Thank you very much!
Now....trying to figure out how to do the slide to unlock thing....
Copy the cab to your phone thru active sync or SD card. Soft reset after install. Then goto programs and start S2U2. You might get a error msg after install. Pay it no mind.

How to auto lock wm6.5 when turn off?

Hi all,
Do you know how to auto lock wm6.5 when you turn off the mobile? I speak about the "standard" lock screen not a software like S2U2.
Thanks in advance for the tweak.
Regards, Sylvain.
you can use smartlock : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505032
Or you can just check the Auto Lock in the Lock Settings. Then every time you boot the phone, turn on the screen, etc... it will prompt for your 4 digit pin and slide to unlock.

Hi,
Thanks for your answer but I would like to lock the phone without a digit pin. I don't know if there is a registry key for that or something I can change with Advanced Configuration Tools, HTCPedia, HD Tweak...
I'm sure I have seen an old post with this kind of trick but I can't find it that's why I need your help.
If you have another idea...
Thanks

Does exactly what you want! Remember to configure it after installing, under Start - Settings - System - Smart Lock.
You can"t do it by changing a registry key. A light application to auto-lock is LockDevice, link (and other applications links) here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550973
or simply use smartlock ... it's the easiest way to lock your device
I realise that this might not help you but, if you hold down the hang up button for 1 sec another menu appears and you can press lock. it also has other functions on the menu like cancelling data connections turning flight mode on etc.

throttle lock question

hello all...i had a quick question regarding throttle lock...the reason im using it is as an alternative to s2u2 bc that is a battery hog on my tp2...i was wondering if anyone knows through experience whether or not throttlelock will consume less battery power...also, is there a way to get it to lock whenever u put the phone into "sleep" mode (pressing the top power button to shut off the screen)...thats really the only thing i want to use it for...for example, when i press the top power button and the screen goes off, how do i get throttlelock to be whats on the screen when i "wake" the phone back up...it seems to me that the only options are to have it activate once u restart (power off and on) the phone or by pressing the throttle lock icon...i would find it very more useful if u could use it like s2u2 (turn screen off and tada!!! theres throttlelock)...can anyone help???
try smartlock. It works with the 6.5 lock and adds the functionality of locking when the phone is powered down. Search for the cab and there are instructions on what box to check to get that functionality.
will smartlock work with 6.1?
I tried s2u2 and also found that it seemed to use more power (based on readings from Homescreen++). Using throttlelock doesn't seem to have much noticable increase at all.
As for getting it to lock when you turn the screen off and wake try the following ...
Go into settings > Lock > Change 'idle time before lock' to '1' then click ok to save settings. Then exit the config go back in and change this back to '0' and 'ok'/save.
It works on my xperia as your wanting ... e.g, turn off screen using button on top, turn on and I need to enter the sequence to activate. I can't find the thread that I read the above solution on at the moment but if your struggling I will see if i can find it.
Throttlelock seems to be ok for me. It does not take much RAM, and does not consume that much power. I do have the lock thing to 0, and throttle lock comes up whenever i turn the phone on.
I used to use smartlock, but for some reason it doesnt work on the build i have!

I realise this is probably a daft suggestion but you do have autolock switch in the config?
Are you using 0.7?
Heres a link to the Throttlelock website wiki explaining the functions.
Might be of some help.
I'm having some trouble with the incoming call feature but apart from that it seems pretty stable.
I've tried the other options but the pattern unlock does it for me

Do you mean the sim pinlock?

it's the pin lock for the whole because i use exchange mail, it's a security pin that everytime the phone goes to sleep, i have to enter it in. i did find a fix for this, it's in the reg file.

WM 6.5 Locking screen

I seem to have a problem with the locking screen. I installed the official ROM for WM6.5 and when i lock my device i get the ugly Gray screen with Gray button telling me 'Push to unlock'
I thought that WM6.5 by default had an unlocking screen with a slider of some sort. Any ideas?
Grtz
You got the TD2 Tools? With this program you can enable the unlock screen of Windows Mobile 6.5
Maybe this helps?
Yes I installed that, but i see no option to enable the WM6.5 locking screen.
Sorry, my fault... it's a tool called DiamondTweak
in this tool you can activate the lock screen
Sorry, may I know if this screen is automatic lockup after a prefinded idle time? And does it require a password to unlock? I see a similar function in control panel, can set time, but need a password.

It locks the screen after some time, when you did nothing with your mobile! It does not require any password for unlock!
The function in the control panel is to prevent other persons to do something on your device after the time you can choose! The password you need there is the one, that you want it to be!
Have you tried
Settings--->lock---> display ---> Windows default / classic.
YOu will need to soft reset after change

Problem after uninstalling s2u2

First of all, sorry about my bad english...
I've installed s2u2, and then uninstall it because I didn't like it.
My HD2 screen suddenly doesn't lock itself after I press the "turn off" button. it did this problem before, but then i fixed it with pressing "start" and then "lock".
I tried to do so again, but it hasn't work.
what can I do so my HD2 screen will lock itself after pressing the "turn off" button (like he did before I installed S2U2)??
Thanks, EliorAvR.

You probably need to go in and turn on the device lock again. S2U2 automatically shuts it off when you install it.
Start>Tools>Device Lock>Check both items at the top
I can't find in my HD2 the "Device lock"... can it be in other location?
if u bothered to read this thread here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638 u wont have any issues..
27. Disable Auto Screen Lock
If you use S2U2, you would have hated the double lock annoyance. Now you can turn off default Auto Screen Lock.
Go to HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd and change DeviceLockWhenSuspend to 0, or use the following cab:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...2&d=1258236796 thanks to triperko.
this issue has been resolved..
No, that isn't what I meant. I uninstalled the SU2U from my device, and I want the HTC lock screen to lock my phone when i press the "turn off" button.
Sorry for asking again, but can anyone help me?
go to Settings --> Menu --> All Settings --> Lock --> Check box "Prompt if phone unused for: "
let's see if that works..
Go to HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd and change DeviceLockWhenSuspend to 1. See if it works?
-I tried the "all settings" thing, and I have to use password...
-How do I get to HKCU? what is it? controlpanel and staff?
i had the same problem few days ago...i tried different ways...but somehow it worked after couple of hours.
hold down the "call cancel" button and click "Lock Device"...and do the soft reset.
if that didn't work then just install the original cab file for HD2 lockscreen. I've attatched it below. Hope that helps.
How do I do soft-reset? particulary after I had locked my phone? and the cab didn't change anything...
i have the same issue. Any solutions yet?
The regitsry option doesn't work....Even i m in same ditch with no defualt lock screen on my phone
Okay Guys...i was able to get the lock screen back on my phone without any hard-rest and without any cab installatio.
Just made the following updates in Registry:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Lockscreen and look for "Enable" and set it's dword to 1. Soft reset.
HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\ and look for AutoDeviceLockEnable dword should be 1.
U need to restart your phone(soft reset) and everything works as usual.
I had not install any S2U kinda software. Just installed Iconsoft PhoneEx2 2 days back. I still don't know what caused the change in my phone.
Happy to have it working properly now!!
the cab didn't work. i tried to tap the box in the "all setting -> lock", and it work! but i have to use password, and i don't want to use password...
