Does the Sprint Touch have full Outlook Mobile 6? - Touch CDMA General

Does Sprint give us the full version or "the Sprint Version" ? I have not seen what the Outlook Mobile 6 upgrade looks like so I don't know?
Under Office Mobile is just Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Under Mobile Email their is a "Download Now" for something called "Sprint Mobile Email for Windows Mobile" - which I haven't had a chance to DL yet - what's that ?

sprint mobile e-mail is a push e-mail solution thats quite easy to setup and works well without a major hit in battery life, and it just adds another inbox to your messaging

Sending SMS messages using computer?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any programs that would let me simply just send sms messages via the computer so i can type them using my keyboard?
I experimented with pocket controller, but its too bulky and slow and just emulates the screen, all i need is a simple sms message sender.
Check the Jeyo software:
Jeyo Mobile Companion
Jeyo Mobile Extender for Outlook
SMS cool from Aim Productions lets you send sms from your pc.. it should be out soon if it not already.

I'trying to use Jeyo Mobile Extender with Outlook2003 but after the installation I can't see any change on my Outllok toolbar... :-(

Seeing as you're on Vodafone you may want to check with them. They have created a little plugin for Outlook - in the UK anyway - that allows you to send SMS's from your PC and either have replies sent to your PC or phone. Its free - in the UK - until the end of the year and I presume will be standard SMS cost after that.
Its called Vodafone text centre which you should be able to find on www.vodafone.co.uk, sorry I don't have the link on me.
Pocket controller I use at the office and home, brilliant I think it is.
Quick google later, Linky
Will have to give it a try later

Try this program, Dr Neils SMS Utils, its free and you may donate to support Dr.Neils efforts.
You need to connect your PPC with Active Sync and the DNSMS utils will fetch all your sms inbox . You can use the same interface to send them too. Nice utility.
The only problem it will look for contacts in outlook. if your contacts are not synched with outlook then you would have to type the phone number as well.
if you have installation problems try downloading and installing the .Net Framework. from Microsoft website.
post your feedback to help others too.

yah you have to right click on the top tool bar and select sms for it to show.. something else i did as well to make it appear but forgot w
hat. i'm pretty sure its included in the readme which is there for a reason.
I think Jeyo is crap. The software is buggy, doesn't work for me and also doesn't receive SMS stored in subfolders. The developers know about this issue but haven't corrected it for months now. In my opinion, it's just a bad software.
so what would you recommend is better? also heres a firefox extension to send sms through google, i think it only works in the US and UK.
http://toolbar.google.com/firefox/extensions/sendtophone/
Jeyo mobile extender works fine for me with one exception:
it won't read the address book (fully patched Outlook xp)
Sends and receives OK if you manually type numbers in but once I hit the adress book or "to:" button, outlook becomes unuseable.
I think it is a security issue where mobile extender wishes to access the address book. Normallyy a window will appear and ask for permission, however with jeyo Mobile Extender this doesn't happen.
Buggy buggy, time to uninstall unless anyone has experienced similar and has a work around?

Microsoft Communicator

When I receive a message on Microsoft Communicator, the 8525 wakes up and beeps and shows the message, but the notification disappears after 3 seconds and then there is no trace of it even if you open the Communicator application.
Does anyone know how I can make it show the message until I hit dismiss or something?
Thanks,
Seems to work here
I tried to simulate this but not fully to. In my case it:
- shows the alert, then after ~ 3 secs the alert will go away (as you said)
- on the Today screen under the Presence information a new line is shown "Unread Message(s)"
- in addition if you go into Communicator Mobile then at the top above your contacts is a "Current Conversations" shown from the sender of the IM
So yes, the message goes away automatically after a few secs (unlike a meeting reminder or e.g. email notification which you have to specifically dismiss), but in Communicator there is trace.
This is Communicator Mobile 2007 Beta 1 by they way ... are you using the same or the older version?
wow, I never know that exist also communicator for PDA... we using this MS IM program also in our company... I must try it, thank you for info.

Thanks but your version does not syncing with the PC like Wm SMS SYNC does.
I am sorry guys. But I wiped my whole download dir last week forgetting about this app.Maybe it is still available on the net.
Anyway. It did go commercial so I don't think the programmer wants me to spread an old free copy around. Neither I am allowed by XDA, I think to do so.
Found a similar app as WM SMS Sync, Efficasoft's Mobile Express freeware.
http://www.efficasoft.com/mobileexpress/index.html
Features
Manage Text Message (SMS) Inbox, Outbox, Drafts, Send Items, Deleted Items.
Send, reply and forward text messages directly from desktop PC.
Supports text message delivery notification request.
Export text messages to txt file in chat-history style.
Organize (add, edit, delete, find) phone contacts.
Synchronized text messages automatically - NO NEED TO MANUALLY 'REFRESH'.
New text message arrival tray notification.
Requirements
Windows 2000, XP, 2003 with ActiveSync installed.
Windows Vista with latest version of Device Center installed.
Windows Mobile Smartphone or Pocket PC (2003, 2003 SE, WM5 and WM6).
Thank you Hendrixus

Windows Mobile SMS Sync 2.0
Hello,
Windows Mobile SMS Sync did go commercial however the new 2.0 version includes a number of really intresting features that set it apart from other the freeware and other commercial applications available. One of the key new features is that you can sync up to our secure server and then restore your messages from our secure server to a new Windows Mobile device.
While it is no longer available as freeware, I would happily give some xda-developers readers free copies of the software in exchange for their feedback. Feedback from the sort of technical users that frequent these forums would be worth more to me than the $10 application fee which I am sure few of you would be willing to pay anyways - you are definitely not the target audience for this application.
If any of you are still looking for a solution to your text message backup needs, please reply here or email me at [email protected] and I will provide you a coupon code to download the application for free. In exchange, I just ask that you provide me with a somewhat detailed analysis of the application and your expierence.
Thank you,

Touch Pro 2 - contact view by company

Morning,
anybody knows who i can see my contacts by company (apparently under view i can not program the sofware)?
Not possible in regular contacts if I'm right.
Download an alternative contact manager
(EDIT, I'm not sure though)
I really hope that is not true. I love till now everything on the Touch PRo 2 but for the biz device i need company view on contacts.
It works exactly as on previous WM 6.1 machines. Not available under the TouchFlo People app, but go to All Programs, Launch the WM 6.1 Contacts app and then just use the View By Company option as usual
Edward
So why is there an option named "Company Directory" on the HTC Contact Manager ? It's grayed out and I don't know how to enable it.
That one is for searching contacts in the GAL (Global Address List) or Company Directory as Contacts tab is saying.
You will have such a list available if you sync your mailbox with an Exchange server.
I'm using myself this...
all the best

Hi - I am on a Verizon TP2 and I am connected to my work Exchange server as you are, but when I pull up a company directory contact (via the TouchFlo UI...Phone>Contacts>Menu>Company Directory) and select "Call Home/Work", it switches to the phone app but doesn't dial. If I use the Company Directory button that appears after pressing "*" on the phone keypad, it switches to the WM UI and it works. Any suggestions on how to get the TF UI to work? Maybe there is a registry setting that Verizon forgot to set?
Thanks in advance.

[WM6.5] "Enable Updates" in Pocket Outlook?

So I'm poking around in Pocket Outlook, and under "Menu>Tools>" there's a Greyed out item named "Enable Updates". I tried searching for any info regarding this, but couldn't find any. I can't find anything that allows me to use the item from the menu, but was curious what it was for. Anyone care to enlighten me?
This functions works with Exchange 2010
I don't know how, but it works only with 2010
SMS Sync works only with Exchange 2010 too...
Thanks for the info!
Yeah, it's an Exchange 2010 feature and seems it will also work with WM6.1:
Over the Air Update Mode
You can now push new Outlook Mobile updates/new versions to Windows Mobile 6.1 and above. This is really nice since you no longer have to wait for a new Windows Mobile OS version to obtain a new version of Outlook Mobile.
