Skype on Vogue - Touch CDMA General

ok i heard about problems with it. Will it work>>???

I am using .18 mentioned in these references. works fine on sprint touch

.18 does have a little clicking noise on the cellphone side but the other side doesn't hear it.
I tried the newer versions today and none of them work.
rings once then nothing happens.

so how does it work ??? like you have a bar on the homescreen, and you can login and use skype out like VOIP??? THis will allow for unlimited calls! WOOT WOOT WOOT!
lol
basically all the calls out, i will use that to never have to use minutes
LEET
only i could get WIFI.
that would be sweetnewss!

Just be careful, as this could violate you terms of service with you provider.
I know that Bell Mobility explicitly prohibits the use of VoIP services over it’s data network.

i dont think sprint does?? besides ok, anyway is this wifi card any good>

yes I think I'll call sprint and ask them if it's ok... well maybe not

will we know if anything new comes out that works?

data connect = incoming calls straight to VM

so i just noticed this today (i have the leaked ROM installed) that when i am using the web or checking my email if someone calls they go straight to my voice mail -- i haven't had the phone long enough to know if this is how it is supposed to be or not. Is there a way to get to cancel the data connection and show me someone is calling?

no, not really, at least not for those of us who use push email, since it maintains a constant data connection to the exchange server

well i read through that and tried what they mentioned but i couldn't get it to drop the data when a call came in.
btw, i'm on Sprint, and no EVDO where i am at so only 1x.
but as i mention in the thread
"i believe that all issues with cellphone internet blocking or being disabled when one recieve a call is purely an issue
with old and poor quality equipment of the cellphone operator in the area"
many old gsm and aparently american cellphone networks too
suffer from not being able to handle both network and calls at the same time
it's an issue in the operator end not the phones
yeah after three emails with sprint (i think most of their CS people are brain dead) they finally told me that it is how it works, no way around it.
one told me that calls go to voice mail when you don't have enough signal -- totally irrelevent to this issue
one told me it was a technical problem with my phone and said i should bring it to a sprint store to get a tech to look at it
and finally after *****ed at them sayint that people (that i assume) don't work for sprint know more about this (thanks Rudegar for your responces) then they do, they finally just came out and said that, yeah this is how it is and there isn't anyway around it.
it seems that this is a better place to get answers then emailing sprint --- although i should have realized that from the beginning, i won't make that mistake again.
well i guess your question has been answered, but figure id add my 2 cents...
it works like this only in EV-DO areas not on 1x....
my ring through works perfectly fine when a call or text comes in, it discconects allows me to do what i want, then it automatically reconnects back to data..

skype!

I installed skype mobile on my titan, and I can't get it to work properly. When I try to make a skype call, everything goes through, it dials the #, the phone i'm calling rings and picks up, but they can't hear me, and I can't hear them. Does anyone have any ideas? Is there something i'm missing?
Thanks,
ooc
I've heard an older version of Skype works to an extent.
Do you know what version? Worth a try i guess.
Thanks
I hate to be the bearer of Bad news, but this is my story.
I had a Sprint Mogul (Qwest), I put on the skype Beta version 2.0 which worked and woked well!! but then I went on to verizon, I got a migration to the xv6800 and jumped on it
unfortunately I upgraded the ROM to windows mobile 6.1, and any version of skype from the earliest beta up to 3.8 won't even run the only version that would run is the lates one from the skype website, but just like you, I cannot hear anyone and no one can hear me, I tried everything, scoured every website, Fringe barely worked, but not the way I wanted it to, Skooter worked great but then thats because it actually calls a number that goes through Skype to where ever you want it.. Handy to call abroad, it only uses your minutes from your cell phone plan.
I'm still searching for anything that will work on my phone,, but at the very least, I have a Qwest Mogul that works quite well as a Skype phone so not all is lost.
If anyine knows of a VOIP prgram that can be used by the Mogul with WM 6.1 I would love to hear about it
Thanks
im using skype 2.2.0.20 on a sprint mogul with wm6.1, it works for the most part, although i have to use my BT headset to make calls

Hi. I've tried several versions, but none of them can use the standard mike. BTW, Default, can you post a link to the cab for your working version, please?
The only way I've had some success is using fring, which will let you access the Skype network and use Skypeout credits too, but my problem is it has no softphone numeric pad, so it's useless for calls for automated services which require any menu navigation.
A new alternative came out last week, called Nimbuzz, but it can't connect to Skype on my Mogul.
I'm using dcd 3.3.4 and radio 3.42.50. If any of you get any of these working, please share...

[APP] Loudtalks Worldwide Push to Talk (walkie talkie)

Perhaps something for you guy's.
Push to talk for Winhose Mobile.
What is Loudtalks?
Loudtalks brings voice back to the internet communications. It's a little application, which allows you to talk to your friends or colleagues instantly with a single touch of a button. Think walkie talkie. It's faster than text chat and more convenient than calls. Loudtalks is available for Windows right now, but we are working hard to bring it to other platforms soon, including your mobile phone. Loudtalks is free and will always be free.

This could be used with any device that runs Windows, can connect to the internet, and has a microphone and speaker
sounds tight hope to try
Palringo currently does this as well. Not sure which is better though...
I have installed it and it works good. Doesn't use your minutes when talking. It could be kind of like Mobile to Mobile for WinMo users and can cross carriers. Anyways, does anyone know how to enable a sound/alert when initiating or receiving PTT transmission like the infamous Nextel chirp? I noticed that on the PC version it has a chirp.
yeah that would be great. i need the beep too.
This would be so cool!
Hope you manage to port it without problems,
cheers!

[Q] Problem with Skype 2 Skype calls using Nimbuzz...

Hey guys!
I downloaded Nimbuzz today to use it for making calls via Skype, but I've got a major problem: While I can hear the other party perfectly, they only hear strange screaching noises coming from me...
I also tried using the skype echo123 service...same problem. I can hear perfectly but my recorded voice is completely distorted...sounds kinda like an old 56k modem dialing...
I tried it via 3G and WIFI its always the same.
Do you have any Ideas whats wrong and how it can be fixed?
Phone is a debranded and rooted X10i running 026 firmware.
Thanks!
I haven't had a problem with skype-to-skype calls yet... Maybe try uninstalling the apk, and reinstalling it?
when I use, I have a delay, like I say something and person listen for like a sec or 2 and then speak and I have to wait to get the reply. I am on wifi though

... Based on your username, I'm going to assume that this is a troll account... otherwise, how else would you miss the fact that this thread has "USING NIMBUZZ" in it's title.
I hate my life.
I reflashed yesterday, the quality of the recording to the echo service improved slightly, but now nobody can hear a thing from me when making "regular" skype calls...
Looks like I'll just have to wait for 2.1 and the official skype client then...
Hmmm. I just tried a 3G call via Nimbuzz to the echo123 account and it worked perfectly.
Are you using an external mic or the phone's mic?
I used the internal mic... but the bigger problem is that I can't hear the other side...except when calling the echo... they can hear me and the echo recording sounds like calling Mars but at least its understandable...
Exactly the same problem here, only tried over wifi
i think skype and nimbuzz are no longer friends....
what are you using now?

Call Recording Options/ Alternatives for N986U and N986U1 Devices

I have had my U.S T-mobile unlocked N986U device for a while now and quite enjoy using it. Apart from wishing it had a bit better battery life (Who doesn't?) and missing bluetooth codecs (aptX) it's as close to perfect as any handset I've ever owned. This brings me to the one feature that I truly need and miss quite a bit- Call recording. This is one where I honestly can't really place the blame on Samsung's feet since google removed the API starting in Pie affecting all android users out there.
I thought I'd start this thread for users to share their workarounds and ways that they've implemented to include this feature in their U/ U1 devices. What have you tried and what has worked and not worked.. Which third party apps have disappointed you and which ones only record one side of the conversation etc..
The good and the bad as they say.. Hopefully there's an option out there even if it's not perfect..
ACR from galaxy play store. It work pretty good for over the headset calls. It is hit or miss over Bluetooth. You will have to play with the settings to get it perfect as I still am doing but it does work.

Is it this same one on the google play store? Do you use it on your U1 device and does it record both sides of the conversation well when using the headset outside of bluetooth?

No dice. I tried recording 5 different regular calls on the t-mobile network and it did not pick up a peep... just absolute silence. I made sure my wifi and bluetooth were turned off as well. I'm on the latest t-mobile march update that just enabled e-sim.. Could that have broken it?

I dont know why its not working for you. Did you enable it in Accessibility->Installed Service? I just checked and all my calls are recorded with the exception of the bluetooth calls which I can hear myself but the other party is very low if even heard.

I have version 33.5. I cleared cache and when that didn't work I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Still silence. Now I don't see it under my accessibility settings nor any way I can add it on there.
The wierdest thing is the first time you install it, there is a notice that says it might not work properly on my phone and that I should install "ACRPhone our new free call recorder etc..." Choosing that takes you to a completely different app and I'm not willing to go there from what I've seen so far..

That was it. I uninstalled the 33.5 newer version from the google play store and installed the prior version 33.3 which shows as the current one from the galaxy store. Immediately this version allowed me to add it to my accessibility settings and It was all good from there.
Moral of this story- DO NOT update to the latest version as long as everything works
Time to dive in and start getting familiar with this app..

Not that I know of and I've been on the N20 Ultra forum from the beginning...
I hope others will chime in with alternatives... although at a first glance everything looks really good with the older version of ACR, I'm not sure how long it'll continue to work.
What about FireFDS via EdXposed to activate NCR? Anyone already tried?

Great.. Do you have it working on a U or a U1 device? Apart from not working over wifi, how is the overall call quality? Does it pick up voice/ sound from the other party equally well? Does it also work over bluetooth/ wired headsets and VOIP services like Viber and Whatsapp? Lastly, can you share a link and the app version you're on?

After everything was working blissfully for a while there it stopped working about a week ago. All my recordings are dead silent now. I noticed that mine had automatically updated from ver. 33.5 to 35.0. I checked both the google & sammy play stores to see if I could revert back to the older version but they're both showing ver 35.0
Is yours still working?
