Keeps rebooting with new microsd card - Wing, P4350 General

Hi , i just got a new sandisk 4gb microsd. The card works fine except when i softreset, it wont go to the homescreen, it will keep rebooting without an end!
Ive been reading on the internet and for some people the solution was to renaming the file omap850_sdhc.dll to omap850_sdhc.dll.old in the windows folder.
But on my htc p4350 with the official vodafone wm6 , that file seems to be part of the rom and cant be edited ! Ive tried totalcommander, resco explorer.
Does anyone have a solution for this or is familiar with this problem??
Thanks

What happens if you take the card out, reboot, then put it back in?

That works , but thats just not what i want.

Hi Phusio,
I have the same problem. Have you found a solution yet?

the windows sdhc card driver probably messed up...that or you installed something on the card that should've been installed on the phone..and now your windows is confused...hehe
there are several solutions... i don't know any that work on all devices
it's been discussed many times... try searching for boot-loop or stuck at splash screen... something along those lines.
the easiest solution is to hard reset...
if you're card is clean that's even better cuz then you can organize it very nice and neat..

Doing a hard reset is not an option for me.
Several other threads have discussed the option of deleting/renaming the omap650sdhc.dll followed by a soft-reset. But this dll is in rom and cannot be deleted. Tried Total Commander and Resco Explorer, but no chance.
Guess I will wait until I'm fed up enough to do a hard-reset.

i had that same problem with my new MicroSD 4GB card.
All i did was:
Turn the phone off and take battery + SIM out.
Turn in your MicroSD card and start it up.
When it's fully booted take the battery out without turning the phone off and put the sim back in.
Then turn it back on and hope for the best.
It worked for me.

Help! Endless reboot cycle!

So it happened again, just not as bad as last time.
My Herald is stuck in an endless reboot cycle! It used to do this then we had some sort of chip replaced and it worked fine again. But now, its stuck again! I'm running on the official HTC WM6 ROM, not overclocking or anything. Can anyone help?
microsd card in the phone?
mine has done this and I simply removed the storage card and it would boot up fine. the only thing that sucked was it would see the card as storage card #2 when I would put it back in. then I would have to take the card out delete the reference to storage card #2 and reboot with the card. it is one of the programs causing it. after I removed several programs from my storage card the problem disappeared
Oh wow yes that was exactly the program. In this case, turned out that I had moved PIE's cache to the storage card. Apparently it doesn't like that...thanks for the replies
You have to edit a DLL
this is from a member at MODACO I had this problem before and you just have to edit one DLL and it works perfect after that with the SD card pluged in.
Here is the sulution
I think it's the DLL that gets installed to update the SD driver causing problems.
Try using a file explorer (Total Commander or Resco) to rename \Windows\omap850_sdhc.dll to omap850_sdhc.dll.old and reboot.
heres the link if you wanna read everything they say over there.
http://www.modaco.com/content/htc-atlas-atlas-modaco-com/256186/continuous-reboots/
I'm sorry to dig out this thread but I'm having the same problem described here. I've found the file that is required to be renamed but when I add the .old in front of the .dll and confirm the rename it simply goes back to the original without the added .old .
I have installed Total Commander to change the file name but it isn't working.
Any ideas? Tired of taking out the SD card and then put it back again when it reaches the OS.
Peace.
Windows Mobile 6.5, 6.5.1 doesn't do that. You should consider upgrading.

SD Card No Work!

My SD card is no longer recognised. It was new a few days ago. Worked immediately when I inserted it... Now I cant see it in the file explorer. Also, not sure if it is just a coincidence but the Wifi will not turn on now either!
Using WM 6.1 pro with a TNT rom package.
Any ideas or tips on how to diagnose this problem?

how big is the card? (if is 4gb hc, wont work at all (on wizard)
try also reflashing, or change to another rom, perhaps you will be able to fix it...
good luck
Got it sorted last night... Card was poo'd so sent back for a replacement. It was 2GB and worked for a few days then died.
Wi-Fi is working after a hard reset so life goes on now!!!

Memory card disappeared!

Heya! I asked this is in the respective ROM-thread aswell, but noone seems to answer =p
I just installed a new ROM on my device (link can be found at bottom if needed). However, since the install, my file explorer no longer finds my memory card. It has on all previous roms, so I'm not sure what's wrong. Any ideas?

i had the same problem, i dont know if it has something to do with it but i think that disabling the "energy save" (or something like that) helped, now i see the card always, however:
I have an autorun app (Garmin), usually when you insert the memory card it asks to be executed...
Now i get that execution request like 3 or 4 times by day, meaning the card gets disconnected somehow..
I´ll try this, but where can I find energy save?
Em I only one who have this problem? There must be a fix. However the X2 is unusable...
happens to me to
X2 mem card that came with the phone (original rom)
one time its there next its not (may come back but most times i need to reinsert it or reboot my x2)

New Tmo HD2 Micro SDHC problem

Ok, after having an Xperia X1 I gave in finally to the HD2. Man is it fast. I've already HSPL, Task 29, and flashed it with Energy ROM. My problem is everything works as it should including the storage card, but after I start playing around with it and it resets it stops recognizing the storage card. If I perform a hard reset, it recognizes it. If I go to boot loader it recognizes it. But after a couple soft resets stops recognizing it. What problems should I look in to in trying to resolve this?
Thanks.

Try removing it, booting the HD2, then switching it off and pop the card back in, does it still not see it?
Is the card the one that came with your phone?

If it is a stock SD card, then get it replaced, they suck. I had to get a new one before I walked out of the store .......

And no, it's not the stock card. It's a Sandisk 16 GB. I heard the stock cards weren't any good. But even with playing with both cards it still doesn't recognize it. This is very frustrating.
Could there be a possiblility of it being a ROM problem? I'll be honest and admit that I didn't even test it when it was stock. I just charged it and did the procedures to flash it and revert to the ROM that I'm use to on my Xperia. Or could it be a faulty phone?
It might be a faulty phone, but you should try different ROMs, see where that brings you.
EDIT: Lots of ppl have trouble with 16GB cards, but if you say that you have the same issues with the stock one, then...
My Xperia recognizes both cards, but the HD2 doesn't anymore. I even reformatted the both cards to FAT32 and both were recognized. So I copied some programs over and installed them...soft reset, and now it's not recognized again. I'm getting frustrated. I found that another member has stated that his class 2 didn't work, but class 4 did. But I thought Classes don't affect whether it's recognized or not, but the read/write speed?
dude try this, I've been doing this a couple of times and it works for my T8585. You insert it into a card reader then plug it to your computer. Most often a message appears on your computer screen telling you to fix your card (I use windows 7) but just ignore it. Then copy all the files in your card to your computer, plug it out and insert it into your phone. You can try and tell me whether it works for you.
SDHC problem
Hi, i have similar problem. When I insert SDHC (4Gb class4),Device dont recognize, but when i plug into USB and press Disk drive,RECOGNIZE. I have HD2 T-Mobile, Energy ROM/Stock ROM...
Can somebody HELP ME ?

Phone stuck at "Enter PIN" screen

I've been using windows 6.5 and android on my HTC HD2 for about a year , when suddenly it started to randomly crash. It doesnt show my storage card anymore ,i tried to take it ant put it in again , it doesnt work. Now it is stuck on "enter PIN" screen and i have no idea what to do .I tried rebooting it several times, still nothing. What can be done to fix it ?
Remove the SD CARD And sim card and soft reset. Then insert SIM without the sd and reset again. now insert the sd card.
My HTC hd2 has some crucial files stored into it's sd, that are needed for starting up. If I was in your place, I would do backup of my/your sd card and would do clean re-install, since I done that several times.
here is 2 links, wich I used myself, but I don't suggest starting it if you have any other way around this problem of yours.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1166948 (android rom, wich I use myself)
http://www.enfeuman.com/2011/04/13/how-to-perform-a-clean-installation-on-nand-android-htc-hd2/ (Tutorial "how to")
Read well few times before taking any action (BTW, you'll have to find one file by yourself, depending on your HTC hardware, since one of download links are dead).
BTW, you mentioned you use android and win mobile on htc? then probably you know everything better then I do. Probably nothing new for ya.
Hope this helps, have luck.
