'tv remote controller' Help

I have read some topics suggesting that the 'tv remote controller' programme works well with this device. I tried instaling it but couldnt get it to learn the controls from my tv remote. I selected the button i wanted it to learn and pushed the button on the remote as instructed (close to the infra red sensor) but it did not learn the control.
Does anyone know why this is????
The hardware isn't compatible with "normal" remote controls for your television etc.
It's only functional for IRDA datatransmition.
You need special hardware for this.
Cheers,
Drifter
I think the hardware is compatible with TVs, just not with the current remote control programs. I read on several of these program manufacturers websites that they are working on a proper driver for the wizards IR. Nothing available yet though. its also a low power IR, so you'd have to be within about 3 feet from the TV for it to work anyway.
why not use the remote that comes with your tv etc
I've only found the remote program useful when in school lessons, i used to keep turning the tvs on and off..and pause video tapes
what is the name of the software that shoud be compatible with Wizard ?
From what I understand the Remote control programs work however the Ir signal isn't strong enough to reach your TV unless you are right in front of it....
i found an application that claims to be compatable with many new devices..one of them being the phone i have cingular 8125.
here u go:

Motorola T815 Bluetooth GPS transmitter

I dont know if I can sell theses but figured I would try:
Ok what I have here are 2 Motorola T815 GPS transmitters. They are pretty neat little units. What you do is charge up the little GPS transmitter and then it connects to your phone via bluetooth and it acts just like a gps unit. It states it will only work for Windows Mobile phones, but almost all of the newer Motorola phones will work with this. Also this comes with a 2 gig micro SD card with a SD adapter preloaded with all the maps (1 gig of data and 1 gig of free space) so no need for your phone to be connected to the internet all the time. I am asking $100 obo for each unit. WELL below the retail. 1 box was opened to show contents and the other is still factory sealed.
COMES WITH
GPS Unit
Car mounting kit
2gig Micro sd car with adapter
Car charger

this is EXACTLY what i needed. thank you.
In the past this software has only worked for about 1 month before needing a serial code to activate and keep working.
I assume this will be the same with this one or am I wrong?
Wait, the topic says "control your PC from your PDA" but the description is "control your PDA from your PC"...
which one is it?

Looks like it may go all ways.
Looks like the server software is free, but you must buy the client software.
I'll stick with LogMeIn for free.
I just installed this software and it works great! LogMeIn.com and Go2MyPC.com are easier to work with but neither supports audio on the PPC only from PC to PC. With Remote2PC it was easier to switch to a static IP address account to log on instead of creating a DDNS account. There are also more on screen icons on the Remote2PC software than the LogMeIn.
Only thing with the audio on Remote2PC is that it's capturing the audio from my web cam microphone. I would like to capture sound from my sound card. I heard one suggestion to use a standard male to male jack and loop it from the microphone port to the speaker port but haven't tried it out yet. It always astounds people when you tell them that you are controlling your computer remotely. I also like to use LimeWire and PalTalk on my PDA.
You can use this software from PPC to PC and PC to PPC. And although this thread title says Freeware it is not. The site offers this software for $39 but when checking out it only costs $15 for 1 year. Still better than LogMeIN which might be free but is $70 for the Pro version to enable sound (just not on a PPC)

Plan to buy HTC touch Pro, some questions.

Hello folks, im another HTC Touch pro fan so i join this most useful forum on the internet!
i plan to buy the phone, but i have some question before make the purchase.
-Does the phone Support 32GB microSD and larger? could firmware update extends the support for future larger capacities e.g. 64GB etc ? or this is hadrware based?
- I travel alot from one place to another(1 hour trip by train) is it possible to set up the phoneas so it could act as a router, so i could access internet from my notebook? (i have an unlimited HSDPA internet connection from my provider). This is very important due my job.
- how does pdf perform on this phone? am i able to copy text from the pdf file?
- When output the video, does it output the video at native resolution(VGA) or its possible to go higher, WVGA for example? this a big plus for a quick presentation at my work.
- It is able to output video to my TFT monitor using special converter for example.
- And about the googlemaps, when using the GPS, it is able to view in satelite images mode (very similar to Google earth)
i would really appreciate if you folks could answer my questions.
cheers RNK,
- Supports microSDHC. Currently only 8gb cards are widely available, although 12gb and 16gb cards have been announced (but are probably hard to find). Hot-swappable, if that helps.
- Yes you can tether.
- Acrobat Reader LT (included) only displays PDFs. You can install Acrobat Reader 2.0 PPC (free), which will let you select/copy text.
- Google maps supports satellite view, as well as traffic overlay.
- Info about video-out and the cable here:

the HTC video out cable uses composite video output and standard audio left and right (red white and yellow coax cables). It would be interesting to see if the video output can be in RGB form from the ext_usb port on the raphael also.
i believe its capable of 32GB, possible more with a driveupdate, i only say that because my XDA Orbit was originally designed for upto 2GB SD cards, with windows 6.1 im now using an 8GB, in theroy it can support 32 as well but i dont think anyone has one to try.
thanks for replies folks,
one last question, is able to accept usb memory storage with one of this?

Advertised with these features and accessories, and yet now all evidence of them has been scrubbed from Samsung's web-sites. Even the Flash animation on the main Galaxy page has had a photograph of a woman placed over the point where the home dock used to be.
Pros & Cons... These are the cons.
Indeed, I wanted the dock, I wanted the remote, etc.
If they really don't want my money then they shouldn't have made the phone.
Alarm clock works for me.

Really? because mine has no fade in, or clock home screen. It only comes on as the alarm goes off.
saw that on another forum - that is a little "unusual" - suppose this might be an interesting news tip for engadget to run a blurb on
wow they really changed the flash animation and got rid of the dock!
had to see it myself to believe this..
they also removed the scene where the guy was sitting on the couch using his galaxy like a TV remote
makes you question a lot about what in the world is going on
it is just a Software feature.
my old Treo phones were able to remote control the TV via infrared
but the Windows Mobile couldn't do it, due the missing infra on the device.
SGS i9000 doesn't have an infrared AFAIK, so that ADvertizement might have been created before the final spec of the phone were engraved in stone, probably at one point they might have had infrared as part of the device spec.
HOWEVER!!! if that is a Windows based TV, then they can easily use bluetooth to control Windows Media Center, like many of my logitech remote controls at home
The alarm clock/smart alarm works splendid for me.
And yeah, they've removed the docking from the flash animation, but the remote is there still...
I really wanted that desk dock
@AllGamer: The phone is supposed to use DLNA (over wifi) to communicate with the television.
then the TV will need to be one of the newer types of TV that has that feature build in, else it's not gonna work / be compatible with older TVs
samsung has added some galaxy / vibrant accessories page
and interestingly, that media dock missing from the video is not there, but this one is - appears to be similiar, without speaker, but they're calling it a multi-media dock
not sure how, as it doesn't appear to connect to your computer - they describe you "use your travel / wall charger to charge your phone"
http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/...ype=acc_detail&subsubtype=chargers&returnurl=
Looks like the original dock but without the speakers. And even this is a bit mean since they dont provide and additional power connector, you have to use the one that came with the phone.
Not sure how it can be a multi-media dock though.

It' just software. The remote doesn't use infrared. It uses a proprietary technology that only works on Samsung TVs sold from 2010 on.
The Alarm clock works.
The dock isn't out, but then again, neither was the Nexus One's when the N1 came out. That one took how long? Couple months?
