GSM 1.4.10, SPL 1.01, Ipl 1.01, The language is in french.
I want at least to change the language to english, but i want it also a little updated.
I don't know what g3, g4 means and how to find out what version i have.
Please tell me where to begin to upgrade the phone, here are to many post and are some terms i don't understand like g3, g4, ipl, spl.

I use tnt 1933 from here and have no problems with it ,i would use radio 2.19 as well,as people have issues with missed calls etc, a link for that is there too

i tried my simcard and it works so that results that my phone is not sim locked so i didn't use any of the sim unlock tools.

now i am reading: You MUST have an IPL and SPL at 2.xx or higher (BOTH not just one or the other).

Which rom did you install the button rom? or the o2 rom?
if it was the button rom did you follow these instructions
1 - Unzip lokiwiz.zip to a folder on your desktop
2 - Copy EnableRapi.cab to your Wizard
3 - Execute the EnableRapi.cab in your phone. Wait for it to finish
4 - Guarantee that your phone is connected via activesync with the computer
press the windows key + r and type cmd and press enter to get a dos window,that way when lokiwiz finishes you will still be able to read what it says
5 - Click on the black dos window that has opened and type cd desktop then type dir /ad and then a list of all the directorys on your desktop will be shown then change directory to the lokiwiz2b directory and Execute lokiwiz.bat (on your computer!)
Extended rom is what it says, a part of rom that is in an extended partition, basically it contains customisation programs and important files for installing into the wizard when it is hard reset.
when you say you tried your simcard ,was it the same provider e.g. o2 that you were using before? If it is the same that wont make a difference, try a sim from a provider that you dont have like t-mobile.
Anyway simunlock just allows you to use any sim, cid unlock allows you to load any ROM which is what you want to do.

Try the XDA unlock tool. You can find it on the website.
I have unlocked tmobile using that tool. However if it gives you problems unlocking.... I would suggest installing the xda rom and then try.
I am going to unlock a new Tmobile on tuesday. If this does not work you can get in touch with me on any chat and I will walk you through the process.

As much as i know, it will not work for you to unlock your device.
xda2unlock is only for the second Version of XDA (MDA II, MDA II,...), so you have to use the xdaunlock tool.
there are several postingsa, that unlocking will fail with your radioversion.
Maybe they have changed the code in this version.
There is a guy (cgigate) that promise he is able to repair and unlock all devices, but personal i don't believe this.
i believe changing ROM will not change anything. But you can try it. Look for the XDA deelopsers special ROM 1.2 or use the 3.17.03 ROM and the unlock tool.
But flashing a device could be dangerous.
Changing the radioversion is also possible, but the risc to end ata paperweight is very high...

Cooking process works well for me.
Maybe you have to wait a few minutes more.
Cooking process can be up until 5 minutes.....
Otherwise try again the Build Rom now button....

When I clicked 'Build Rom Now' button, the only thing that changes is the graphs (right hand side of the page). I have tried many times but only the graphs changes.

You can try http://xda.weblink.net or use http://cuba.calyx.nl/~jsummers/XDA/XDA-developers-SER-v12.exe to download the xda developers ROM based on 3.17.03 including the unlock tool....
I think you're the first guy that has problem to download a rom from the kitchen.
What for browser are you using? Have you ever tried another ROM?

will not work because my phone (i.e PC2003) (the adaptROM is not compatible with PC2003)
He said the only option to Unlock the SIM is only using this xdarit.exe application. Since my SD is 8 MB, I can't load the ROM with this space.
As far as I have seen the situation, my only option is getting the serial cable.
Do you have any suggestions?

I had the same error. I read somewhere on one of these posts that
there was some capatibility between Programme A.exe and Activesync 3.7.1.
Apparently you could downgrade your activesync version or use XDATools to push the nk.nbf file down to an SD card and flash from there. Use winzip or something else to extract all the files in the SER installation exec. In the English folder you'll find the NBF file to use.
In XDATools put this as the Source, target is the SD card in the device. Go to bootloader utilities (power+soft reset and maybe press contacts) and depending on your bootloader version it may detect you have a flash image on your SD card. Follow the instructions on the pda to flash the rom.

I can help you change language from french to english.
Doesn't your Universal have a place where you can download the french ROM? If not, it is still possible to backup the french ROM. A little complicated, but i'm sure i can walk you thru the process.
Regarding the unlocking, i don't think it is possible at the moments. The geniuses are working on it but as of now, you can have it unlocked thru your provider. Just pay the fee (which i think is around 20-30€)

I guess if you want the fastest or newest? The fastest in MY opinion is the QTEK because it has few customizations. The newest I believe is O2 ROM
Regarding Phone configurations of Orange, the configurations are set thru a .CAB file which is stored in Extended ROM. All you have to do before changing ROM is to backup the extended ROM, then Flash the device to english, then run the CAB file that has the Orange customizations.
If you can give me a list of the files in your Extended ROM, i'll do my best to explain what each file does

Backing up extended rom, have to install Total Commander. Then in total commander, type \EXTENDED_ROM which will show you the contents of the extended ROM. Just copy to the SD card and save in your computer, that's how you backup extended ROM

What command did you enter that caused you to get an error message?

no I followed the articel your refered me to, I ran the enable rapi, then connected to the usb and then ran the programme.

I would like to flash my mda vario with the qtek rom, to solve the issue with the device resetting itself due to having a sd card installed, and to generally speed things up etc. I have visited the wizard ftp site on here, and navigated to the qtek folder, but there are about a million files listed. I am currently a UK user running an mda vario with t-mobile. Which file should I use? Once I have the correct file how do I then install it to my device? After the update will I be able to restore my previous files and settings with my SPB backup file?

as a newbie myself maybe i can lend you a hand.
first of all...in order for you to flash your mda to other rom, you need to sim and cid unlock ur phone. then you download the latest ROM with WWE to your desktop.
connect your wizard to your pc via activesync 4.1, make sure your device is fully charge at all time. after you have sim/cid unlock ur phone, soft reset your device. then run the ROM exe file and follow on screen instruction.
before you start unlock and flasing ur phone, please use the search function and try to look for step by step instruction. thats wht i have done for a few days and manage to flash my mda vario with the latest qtek rom and a custom radio rom. cant say how happy i am with the phone now.

with spb backup no you will not be able to do a full restore because it will overwrite the registry etc..

I have one T-Mobile MDA Compact II PM200. In this forum i hound that his name is Charmer. I try to unlock it with Lokiwiz03a. Program give me a code but device says that code is wrong. I try with other software to unlock it and after that mobile work with SIM card but no signal
I reflash mobiele with WM6 founded her in the forum, not it have English (before have German) but again no signal. I try now to unlock it with Lokiwiz02a and choose CID unlock. Again no signal.
When device in Automatic search mode no found network. If in Manual mode found but unable to register in network. When i put mobile to my computer speakers no outgoing signal from mobile that's not normal.

I download Radio from ftp on this form for Prophet. And try with Prophet_G4_RadioRom_v2.47.11 but now mobile not start. Go to splash screen and after few seconds restart.
I try to put it in bootloader mode but ActiveSync can't make connection and for that flash software can't wreit new radio or flash into mobile.

If you are in bootloader Active Sync wont make a connection. Just plug in the usb cable into your phone while in bootloader and run RUU.

I'm guessing that this universal radio upgrade is for universal
Download this:

Extract it, copy the .nbf of the rom you want to upgrade your device with to the extracted RUU folder. Once copied - run RUU.
P.S. The problem with your device is that you have upgraded wm6 on 1.xx bootloader. Thats why the system doesnt start. If the method I described above doesnt work. Post me.

I can help you maybe. You need to downgrade to Aku 2.2 using the original utulity. Then the Radio will be downgraded too. But nobody knows the exact way on how to do that. (Maybe Vlodeck knows that?) I'll try to get it this week and tell you then.
As for the password try CHARMER. I have never been able to test it with MTTY cause I don't get in the right mode but I think the olny possibility is CHARMER. Just try it with whatever tool you want.

OK you have the same problem I have. You have Cmd> in the window. To get the comands and the password working you need USB> instead of Cmd>. That is the same problem I have and I don't know how to fix it.
in moment i use MTTY 1.42
before 3-4 days i repayr one HTC Touch Elf100. and this MTTY work find. no problem that write CMD not USB.
terminal show CMD> i write commands and mobile answer w/o problem.
but in my Charmer not answer.
possible reason is access password. but not sure.
There are simple comands. And for them you don't need SuperCID. I tried them and they haven't worked too. So I think there is something else with it. Maybe the Bootloader locks all comands and you need a password for that too. But I don't know about that.

Well, we can't SuperCID and Security unlock a Charmer with a bootloader over 1.x at the moment. This is surely impossible. That won't work using a SD Card too. So I think you will not have any luck.

i tried to flash my blueangel to Windows Mobile 6 Build 20758, following the instructions in the wiki.
Now i have a problem with flashing the device. I downloaded the rom from the wiki-page (Version 3.02 without ramdisk) and extracted it to the directory where MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe (version 1.32) is. MDA III is cradled and in Boot Loader Mode (USB displayed). But the device couldnt be recognized ( screenshot and i cant do the upgrade.
i carefully followed the instructions from the wiki.
What i am doing wrong ?

as long i upgrade or reflash any type of BA ROM (wm5,wm6,wm6.1) it did not show my current device version, usually when you through this option there is nothing wrong just klick upgrade and your device will flash.
So far i know, u dunt have required HTC RUU files. The 20758 package has only nk.nbf file and no RUU
go to buzzdev downloads on buzzdev.net(u need a username for that) download the wm2005 upgrade from there. Extract it. then replace the nk.nbf with the wm6.1.20758 one. just run BAUpgradeUT.exe and u will go fine
remember to put your phone to bootloader mode by press [record]+[on/off] then reset.
if the error says: connection error. Take out the Mem Card and I recommend you should take out the sim card too. Also ensure that your battery is charged more than 50%
Edit: BLUE ANGEL MODS! Please upload the cracked BA RUU on the wiki or stiky it at the forum. coz usually roms posted here dont come with the RUU
