Black Skin Pack (Dialpad / Comm Manager / Theme / Slide2Unlock) - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

I would like to present my Black Skin Pack. I did not make the programs, but I modyfied most of them to give the appereance i want.
The Last of that Projects was the creation of my Comm Manager Skin. I hope you'll like it. I took Shaps Kaiser Comm manager to start the Creation. And it will identify like that in the Installed Programm List.
But have a look by yourself:
Today Theme:

}
Comm Manager:
Dial Pad:
Slide2Unlock:
Instructions:
For the Slide2Unlock Skin just Copy the files into the GFX Folder and overwrite the original ones. If you dont have that Program you can download it here
If your Rom Cooker has skinned the Pin-Number input, and you want that black just delete the reg-key "HKLM/Security/ResOver/Bitmaps/BaseDll".
I used the PHM Registry Editor
Unfortunatly the Dialpad Skin will switch your Today Skin, too. So you have to switch the Today Skin again after you have installed the Dialpad
File List:
Today Theme:Rapidshare Megaupload
Dial Pad:Rapidshare Megaupload
Slide2Unlck: Rapidshare Megaupload
Comm Manager:Rapidshare Magaupload
So i hope you'll have fun with that Downloads
Important:
The Buttons for the phone being muted were missing in my first release of the Comm Manager, so you should download the fixed file I just uploaded. I first did not realize that because I only tested the functions of Comm Manager itself.
You can help me to improve my Comm Manager if you could get me the answers to the following Questions:
There are some Buttons missing to get all Functions intigrated. So where is the definition of which png belongs to which funktion and how could that be changed.
Maybe the key to that problem can be found in the SCHAPS~1.000 file but i wasnt able to open it correctly. So does sombody know what Filetype the File is and how it can be opend and edited (Notepad gives me nonsense)
Some insight in the Reg Key HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\DisableButtonText would be nice. For it is responsible for displaying the Comm Manager in different ways. But with the PNG's the only usable option is the Value 2. Otherwise you got the original Comm Manager displayed. But the Options are quite interresting (0 = Original Setup with Button Text on the Top / 2 = Buttontext on every Button / 3 = No Button Text.). But there has to be a place to where this Key is referring.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing!

Hi
Like your Comm Manager Skin a lot. But I can't download from Rapidshare. In fact, I have problem downloading from Rapidshare 9 out of 10 times. Can you post it in another place for download?
Also, will it override the default Comm Manager Skin such that I need to hard reset to get it back? Cos' I wanna have the option of freeing up my device memory should I need the space for another application. Please confirm.
Thanks! Great job!

Will it work well in english?
I noticed that these weren't in english, maybe a noob question but it does it matter?

Looking good!

Coradiel,
Thank you for this wonder black pack!!!! So great!!!
Thank you for your hard work modifying and uploading! Thank you!

Very nice, can you make a similar skin for Psshutxp
Edit: The fonts in the commanager are too bold, can you change the font please

Thnx for liking it. I'll try to provide an other Mirror.
To your second question. The Comm Manager can be uninstalled through the "Installed Program List" in Windows Settings. But if u use the default Comm Manager u can go back too by editing HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\DisableButtonText (Value from 2 to 0)
EDIT:
Megaupload Links added

First of all no Question is a noob question. We all had to learn once.
There is no Language File in all of the Skins. MS made the wonderful thing to store them in other lokations and not meld them with the Skin Files since WM5 (i think it is since WM5). So u can use this Package with every Language

plz post in some other site
hi
plz post the files in some other website..i cannot download from rapidshare.
thanks

For i dont now Psshutxp i cant promise you anything. But i'll have a look at that.
For the Fonts: I can't really say anything about the Fonts in your english rom, because i'm not able to get them displayed with my device. But i can tell you that i'm not satisfied with the Button Texts, too. I wanted them not to be displayed, but i cant find the keys resposible for that. There is a reg key in the setup.xml, that seems able to do that, but if i change it the skin is gone, too. If anybody knows how that task is done pleas tell me.
General Information:
There are the PNG files of the Backgrounds and Buttons, the Commmanager.exe and a file I was not able to identify in my cab File (SCHAPS~1.000). Maybe the Key to that Task is in that last file, but i'm not shure which Program I should use to open it properly, because this file isn't mentioned in the setup.xml. Notepad gives me a lot of glyphes beside some readable information. And I'm really not sure what it does (im much better in editing graphics than programmng, actually).
I also would like to know where i can find the assignement Buttons=Tasks so that i'm able to integrate new tasks with new Buttons into the Comm manager
(i would like to integrate voip, for example).
I would be grateful for help

I have problems unzipping the files. (tried the dialpad and the comm-manager).
I tried windows-xp's built in routine and izarc.
Both give error-messages. What is my error?

I checked the downloads and was able to unzip them with Windows and WinRAR without problems. I think your download has been corrupted. I think you should try again to download the files.
Beside that I must honestly say that i did not know where your problem is.

Bautiful skins!!! Thnak you!

I can't get the Comm Manager installed
My device says that I don't have the correct systemrights/accessrights.
What am I doing wrong?

Maybe you have an other Comm Manager installed. You first have to uninstall it.
When does the Installation Process stop? During the installation or at the beginning?
EDIT: I downloaded my file and installed it. It is working on my device.

Beautiful skins, thanks!
Just a question, maybe it is not the fault of your skin but I even ask my question here.
How to hide in the Phone Dial Pad the little part displaying contacts?
Indeed I've the keypad from bottom to middle, then a little part of my contacts displaying and then the background skin and my Orange logo.
I never noticed contacts before, is there a way to make them disappear?
Thanks.

I think your question refers to the smartdial funktion. Whenever you start dialing, the matches found on your phone will be displayed. I believe that this is a funktion of WM5 and WM6 (programmed by HTC), it appeared in every dialpad skin i tried on my phone (if the skin was programmed for WM5 or WM6 and that funktion is supported by them).
And sorry if i have to say that. My programming skills are very limited so i do not really know.
But there are several reg-keys in the setup.xml referring to the smartdial funktion. The best thing you can do to check that is by using a regestry editor (i provided a link to one in my first post) and edit that keys one after an other and look what will happen (dont forget to reboot after each change). I know, that this is a long process and it cant be seen if u have success by doing that. But that is the way i'm going through all the times I change programms.
You'll find the keys referring to Smartdial in "HKLM\Software\HTC\SmartDialing"
I hope that is what u want and u'll have success with that. I think you'll not damage anything by doing that, if u do one change after an other and remeber the original settings. But I for shure can't give you a guaranty.
So good luck

No it's not that
In fact, when I open the phone, I have this display all the time.
Indeed, when I start to compose a number, the smartdial tries to match contact links, but what I'm talking about is present all the time, not only when I compose a number.
I'm going to have a look in the reg and see if I could find something
Thanks.

i'm sad
these look really pretty, but they won't work on my phone :'-(
i tried installing them, but they just made everything white...no background....just plain pure white...i have a treo 700wx, so if you can fix it plz let me know.

Cleaned Up 6 Buttons Dual comm manager

Thank you JUVS for the original 6 button comm manager.
The reason I fixed the graphics for this 6 buttons comm manager because its very cheap looking, I still want to remove the additional text and leave only the main titles and the buttons, but I coud'nt figure it out, I looked at the registry and changed the disablebuttontext to different values to see if it will change but actually it messes up the whole thing and I didnt wanna play with it anymore, hopefully someone here can figure it out and let me know so I can make different screenshot.

Good start, Poorlyduck. Key question for me is how customisable is your version going to be?
Example here is that you use Airplane Mode; we use Flight mode. Semantics, perhaps, but important, nevertheless, in the customising game. Also the range of apps you display isn't necessarily what everyone else might want to cover, hence the question on flexibility.
All the best.

uhmmm, no Wi-Fi???
I have this and Poorlyduck's yellow cube installed, and in both of these apps. these apps look like the writing is in cursive. In the screen settings the text size is set to the center (default), and Clear Type disabled. If I change the text sizeI get very large blocky letters, it also has the same effect if I turn enable clear type. I know that This has been asked before but I cannot find how to do it. I just want to have the basic type of font as shown in Poorlyduck's. My device is a Titan
Thanks.

you need to go to \windows\fonts delete watever font you have there, maybe you installed somerthing that had those 2 fonts. reset the device and you will have normal text.

there is wifi, just install the cab file and you will get it the wifi button automatically, I removed it in mine through the registry, because I have the wifi hardware switch. look at the picture above this post, those are the main buttons you will get when you install. to customize just replace whichever you want in the registry editor.

I'm interested in whatever you find out. I have the same issue with a cube I have just installed and like you, I found th efonts folder to be empty.
WB
can you copy from your computer \window\fonts Tahoma and Arial fonts to your ppc \windows\fonts and reset, let me know how it goes.
Yup that fixed it. Thanks Poorlyduck
Well it fixed the Comm Manager but not the Cube, oh well never really found the Cube usefull
Gets more interesting, I got the correct font for the Comm Manager by copying over the fonts, then installed the Cube and then soft-reset and now the Comm Manager and the Cube have the cursive font. Uninstalling the Cube didn't help, and now I cannot delete the fonts because everytime I try to it gives the "being used by another program issue"
Here is the fonts if anybody needs them.

I am using Karmba's ROM & in the comm manager there is "3G" instead of Data Connection.
I checked in the registry value, number 4 = "3G" not "DataDisconnection". Is it the same function when i want to disconnect my data connection?
I need the "Data Connection" in my comm manager instead of "3G", should I delete the registry value or replace the value? please explain it to me.
thanks
I know this is off topic with the thread but since you guys are talking about it. How easy is it to change the System font? Can it be done?

Im with sprint service and we dont have 3G, I cant tell you if it will work if you replace the "3G" with "datadisconnection", dont delete it it, just try to replace it with "datadisconnection" .
Either way both are wireless data, if you turn off "3G" actually it will disconnect your data connectivity.

[4-21-2008] pShades Triple Theme Sets (Today, PocketCM, Dialpad)

After about a week of work I have a set of three themes that provide a consistent look on my WM6 device. The one shown below is pShades-Rainbow. I initially had just a HTC-Touch Dialpad theme, but decided to take the time and create a PocketCM theme to match. Eventually I will have a full set for each dialpad theme in the above link. I am also willing to entertain custom themes as time permits. pShades fully supports portrait and landscape modes for QVGA screens. Let me know what you think!

Examples:
Includes:
The Theme zip file includes the following files:
Today Theme .tsk file
Dialpad Theme .zip file
PocketCM Theme .zip file
Portrait and Landscape .jpg files for S2U2 backgrounds
Sample .jpg file (seen above)
Requirements:
These files are dependent on the following applications. Listed are the version I am running.
Today - WM 5 or 6 (WM6)
Dialpad - HTC Touch Dialer
PocketCM - 0.20 or newer (0.20)
S2U2 - Any (0.99p)
To Install:
Today Theme:
Copy the .tsk file to the root of your device (or "My Documents" dir) and select via Start->Settings->Today
Dialpad Theme:
Unzip all images (png files) to your /windows directory. They will overwrite the existing HTC Touch Dialpad images. Next, reboot your phone, or disable the radio (airplane mode) and end the cprog.exe program. Re-enable the phone and you should be good.
PocketCM Theme
Copy the .zip file to the /Program Files/PocketCM/ dir (installation dependent). Go into PocketCM and select the theme from the "Options" screen.
S2U2 Backgrounds
Copy the images to the /Program Files/S2U2/gfx/ directory as file names wallpaper.jpg and wallpaperL.jpg for both portrait and landscape. To be honest, I use S2V to set my wallpapers for S2U2.
To Request:
If you like this style and would enjoy having a custom theme set just ask. I will need an image or both the portrait and landscape modes. Or an image large enough to be used for both. Depending on the response I will try to get them done within a a week. Family takes up much of my time.
Thanks:
To Michaelr219 for his wonderful Battery Status theme. It can be found with his iStyle theme.
To DvTonder who's green WM6 theme for PocketCM inspired me to create my own.

I CANT COPY THEM into "Windows" folder....
And i want it soooooo much^^ can u help me / tell me how i can copy the PNGs to the windowsfolder.

Humm. Must be because I am using Total Commander. Try disabling you phone (radio) and closing the cprog.exe program. You may need a tool to view processes and end them. In WM list of running programs.
Anyone else experience this or have a solution.?
First THANKS 4 fast reply,
Will test it with TC, I'm such a newbie^^, just started modding my phone, kay TC
I've already disabled my phone but didn't find the cprog.exe process, Okay,I will search a TaskTool to find it out
when disableing my phone, i cannot copy the PNG-files via PC(USB), cuz i don't have access to my phone-.-
I'm desperate...!

I am sure with the help of the nice folks around here we can figure it out. I wouldn't think disabling the phone (airplane mode) would diable activesync? To be honest, I am a Linux guy so I have never tried copying files via activesync (assuming this is what you are doing).
It might be worth trying something like WM5torage to mount your SD card (if you have one) and then copy them over to /windows from within the phone. That is how I do it anyway. Let me know if you get it working!
Okay, I will never ever copy files via activesync again
THX 4 the TC advice, works well after i have killed all processes xD
BUT^^ after rebooting the dialpad, there is still the same old boring style like before do i have to start the Dialpad extra?^^
Sry 4 my Newbie Questions and sorry for annyoing you
Btw. i installed a Taskmanager called "duttythroy" taskmanager found here, but i can't find it on my phone.^^
I thought i killed the processes with Start->Preferences->(the normal WM6 one) taskmanager?! is Duttythroy only an add-on/extension OR does it run on its own?! im confused.
I only search a tool that shows all processes and let me kill them...

Humm, assuming you have the HTC-Touch Dialer installed from the link above and the images actually copied over to the /windows folder you should have the new dialpad after a reboot or soft resets. The only reason the "end" the cprog.exe process is to load the new images without having to reboot.
As for the taskmanager? I am not familiar with that one, nor did I find much about it. I use TaskManager and love it! Hope this helps.
Nice looking themes.
Glad to see my work helping others make great pocketcm themes

OTOH.. how did you get HTC Home plugin to "move" from the top spot on the today screen and have something else show above it??
Whenever I try to do this in setting>personal>today> move item up or down on today, it doesn't let anything go above it! I'm just trying to get Windows Live Search box to go on top so whenever I tap in it, it doesn't get totally covered by my PocketCM Keyboard and making me force to turn landscape mode or or flip the keyboard out in my Tilt...

Two ways to do it:-
1. You have to edit the Registry
Look in:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\HTC Home
Change 'Type' from 5 to 4
Stop and start the HTC Home from settings. You can now go into the usual Today options and put the plugins in any order you want.
2. Or use HTC Home Customizer by choosing unlock in options menu u can move HTC Home anywhere u want.
2 questions....
1) What Today Plugin do you have on top? The one with the Speed Dials? Is it simply PhoneWeaver?
2) What's your process when it comes to getting your PhotoContact pictures to look glassy like that? I've been wondering lately how I can set something like that up but I don't know the dimensions of the contact picture and I'm not sure I want to photoshop all my contact pictures.
Best Regards,
Nik

Thanks, I am glad you like them! They took some time, but I really enjoy having the same feel across my phone! I see that tjkhattak61 answered the HTC Home question. Although, it isn't HTC Home. It is Battery Status with the mentioned theme. I think there are a few HTC Home themes for BS.

That would be SPB Phone. I use to use more of the functions, but now just use it as a quick launch and profile change. I think there are several apps out there that do this.

Unfortunately, I am still photoshoping (Gimping) my contact images. I don't know of any program that will display a png with alpha so I am doing it the hard way. I did write a script-fu scrip for the GIMP that automates it. It makes it a little easier.
Thanks for the feed back!!

Diamondish WM Dialer

For those that don't like cooking in the Heavier Diamond Dialer with Video Calling.
Because all that extra fluf isn't needed.
Here's the first version of the Official Windows Mobile Dialer with a Diamondish Sauce.
Easy skin but still needs a few Touch Ups.
Who knows someone Will make a few new skins for the default WM dialer.
When i have finished of the small details in the skin (Quickdial, red button, and White line in the top of the background).
I will post a cab that will disabled the default Diamond dialer (freeing up a few MB of memory).
How to use for now.
Cook or..... Copy over the Graphics to Windows folder using Good File browser on Mobile like Total Commander. Then using Advanced Config change to default WM dialer and reboot.
Take a note of Memory usage before and after change to convince yourself.
Update: Fixed last Details in Skin.
Update: Added the Cab file and i can say you can gain at least 3 MB of extra memory. (not the most correct count as i'm taking out the HTC Diamond dialer completely)
Update: Dutch Sephiroth has made a WVGA skin working on the Touch HD.
It can be found in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3934313&postcount=14

Very simple Skin using Diamond Log in Dialer colours and buttons, but a little more lightweight even compared to official WM dialer.
Stil need to kill a few pixels in green call button and the Pin input right side background needs to be darker.
The cab doesn't add anything extra that isn't already in the default dialer.
But it just disables the HTC one from starting up.
I made this Dialer for myself as i like lightweight clean roms, and figured there might be others that hold that idea to.
The choice for me is simple, why waste memory on a fancy dialer that does the same thing as the normal on,... call people. I'm so used to WM that all the new extra added pop ups and big buttons don't necessarily feel as improvements. Waste of Space and Memory, so it's a personal opinion for me. So maybe when Videocalling is actually used on a broad scale by my friends and family i won't need it.
And it's a very easy dialer to skin.
Hi Noonski,
First of all can you post some screenshots please.
2ndly is this gonna solve the ringer delay problem? as I am not using anymore of the default dialer because of the ringer delay problem as I don't want to loose 3-4 rings before I get notified, but on the other side I want to keep a Fancy & Decent looking dialer as well, do you think your dialer will fix this issue? I had to also uninstall the HTC volume control to contoll the dialer volume with another VGA dialer.
Please advice

i bet winmo default dialer will not have ring delay prob if u don't have it with HTC dialer
and yeah, a screenshot would be nice
a little screenshot would be great. i like the idea.
Added screenshots.
Anyone that wants to add their versions of the Default VGA WM dialer Be My Guest. My prediction is that more power users will switch over if there where more.
Great Skin!!
Does the bluetooth indicator work with this dialer? As when I switch to the standard WM dialer the bluetooth doesn't show, or is there a fix for this?

Hi Noonski, thanks for the screenshots, Is it possible for a white skin as same like the HTC HEAVY skin, OR if you don't mind share the PSD please.

All graphics are in the Zip file. from first post.
I'm a lover not a fighter... euhm i meant to say i'm a cook not a skinner
The Bluetooth icon is indeed part of the HTC Dialer that starts these extra icons in status bar.
Just seen this thread, nice skin! I've added a link to this thread in my WM dialers thread, also a solution to the Bluetooth icon issue.
I've had a look at your cab and there seem to be some extra files that aren't in most WM dialer skins... do you know if they are necessary?
Let me take a look BRB.
Couldn't see which files are extra these where all directly taken from the original VGA dialer i found in Diamond Roms.
Didn't know about your thread, so sorry and thanks.
I extracted and re used the graphics from the original HTC Log IN Dialer.
Just curious, but is a white/black skin in the works?
Is there a WVGA version for this skin available? I copied the files in the zip to my Windows folder but it looks all screwed up at the bottom. I can see my wallpaper there while the rest of the screen is correct. The colors look really nice though so a WVGA skin would be awesome . I am using a Dutch Touch HD with stock rom.
I figured i should stop being lazy and just make a WVGA skin myself So i did, i used you original files Noonski but i resized everything for a WVGA screen.
Here it is, the Diamondish WM Dialer for WVGA devices, thank you Noonski for the original skin.
I use this on my Touch HD and its perfect.

There is another thread somehwhere on the forum that picks up from this type of dialer which collects different skins.
I don't know if every skin there uses the max compression on the files.
(PNG 8 bit with Exact or adaptive coluors and the same for the GIF files)
I like the skin but as a newbie some additional questions:
1. How do I install, do I need the zip-file and the cab-file?
2. Can I switch back to the original dialer if I don't like it?
The Cab should restore the original settings.
You only need the Cab.
The Zip file is for those that would like to Change the skin themselves.
new pure black skin
that was really nice and I have edited your files to make a new skin for myself i thought i should share it in here
just unzip the attached file and copy contents to windows folder on your WVGA device using resco or total commander and enjoy it ... its the lightest skin I ever used and looks NICE
???
anyone know what is the original name of these pictures in windows folder ?? cause i have placed them there but its not changed in call history
clg_miss
clg_out
clg_in
non of them working
another one
here is another one tell me if you are interested and i can post the zip ...

Polaris m2d-skins and themes posting and development.

I have some years experience now with the xda-forum. I'm still very pleased (and that's an understatement) with the existance of it. Besides that I find it sometimes difficult to find what I want. Some of the things difficult to find are the m2d-skins that suits the Polaris with its QVGA. Therefore I had the idea to start this new thread for questions about and some posting of Polaris-m2d-skins, -themes and for skin- and/or theme-developing-questions.
Please give your reaction to this idea by rating this thread.
To make a start, this is my first contribution:
in fact the first real contribution to the world of xda. Most of the credits go to the maker of an KeRohGlass-skin but i can't find the creator of that skin anymore. I used his xml to learn about the correct settings. Secondly I used most of the tabs and pictures. With that in hand I made this one. Most important for me was to make it suitable for my Touch Cruise (QVGA), to have the footprints tab and I wanted the possibility the second appointment shown on the home screen.
I also made the corresponding theme.

When you've made your own skin (and corresponding theme) for Polaris (QVGA) or when you have one that works fine with Polaris (QVGA) please post it in the skin-thread. Post the link to it on this thread (where you are now). By that way we can prevent double posting and share the fun by the rules of this forum.

I had this problem with the first themes I tried on my Polaris. It has to do something with the settings of the text-rectangular-coördinates in the 'HTCHomeSettings.xml'-file. There are a few posibilities (when the problem did occur with the skin I posted, otherwise there are others), I'll try them in these order:
1. Try a soft reset.
2. You can try to disable tochflo (settings - today- items - TouchFLO) before installing the new one. After installing the new skin soft reset en enable touchflo again.
3. Aply the theme with the 'windows-download' instead of the m2dc-one, it's also attached to the first post now.
4. Overwrite the HTCHomeSettings.xml-file in your windows folder with the one I aplied in the first post.
Please report me if this stil doesn't work. Its best that you give a screenshot in your post. You can make screenshots with the following app.: View attachment GetPDAScreen.zip

Hi, Can i know how we apply the theme in storage card? when i change the theme frequently, my main memory occupied by themes and dunno which file should be delete...
i can only get one calender appointment to show when installed on my kaiser.
do you think it should still be able to display the very useful two that you intended it to do?
went through the options described above and installed via m2d and the windows method but still no joy.

This depends:
1. When you install m2dc it's easy to find your files. In that case they must be under program files - m2dc - themes. In m2dc it's also easy to delete them in it's main menu. So when I was you I would install m2dc.
2, When you do't use m2dc its more difficult but when you're doing it the right way you will overwrite the old files when you install a new theme.
3. When your memory is still full. Disable touchflo (under settings - personal - today - items). Search tot files that start with hh_... (hh stands for Htc Home) and delete theme. Then reïnstall the theme of your choice and re-enable tochflo. It's best to do a soft reset afterwards.

I'm not sure if it works with Kaiser to. Did you overwrite the HTCHomeSettings.xml file with the one I posted in the first post? In most cases that will work.
Yust give a shout here when it's still not working. Maybe I can help you in an other way.

yes, tried the xml file also but that made the clock messed up and the calender still only had one option showing.
never mind, it works well apart from that bug i mentioned on the kaiser.

Is it possible to make topbar (system icons) and softkey bar transparents, as in wm 6.5?
And where can i find a transparent slider like this (with footprint icon)?

well, no succes. What I found for you was this: View attachment 181384. You can extract the clock-btn from it (it's the 'hh_hm_clock_bg-file).
I don't know how to make top- and softkeybar transparent. You can try to search in the windows-folder for the file and replace or edit it but that means a lot of search-time.
For the transparent slider, you can try to edit mine (it's the 'hh_fw_tabbtn-' and the 'hh_fw_tabbtn_mask-file') out of the windows-skin-folder in the first post.
As you can see it's not much for the moment but I'm gonna try further.

It's not that difficult to learn. What you have to do is find the skin and when it's a m2d-file you have to install it first on your ppc with m2dc. After this you can copy al hh_.....-files to your pc and edit al of them. When the skin is brought to you in a windows-format it's a lot easier because you can skip the m2dc-step. What you can do first is have a look at all your hh_.....-files that are installed as your current skin. I've learned it myself in the same way, the only thing you need is patience and time.
You can also try to get some help here.

Adderz Theme Sets: M2Ds, Comm Managers, Video Dialers, Splashs *SIP BETA RELEASED*

Hey Guys
Well ive been lurking around these boards for over a year now. I thought i should gather up all the things ive either skinned myself or found.
Ive never been *truly* happy with my device, or Windows Mobile, and so over time ive put together some M2D themes and Comm Managers and now im trying my hand at making a Dialer and its turning out pretty good (i think).
My aim is/was to unify my device and make the interface look better.

Video Dialers
Well i found this video dialer and decided to skin it. They are up to BETA 4 which means the primary and secondary screens are both skinned but there are still little bits a bobs that need to be done, but its 95% complete. If you have another dialer installed, uninstall that one first then install this one.

Beta 1
This is only a skin for the Keyboard, not the full qwerty or any of the others. The others deal with the letters differently, so its going to be harder to skin, same with the symbol page. So they have NOT been skinned. This skin is for WWE only.
Ok this one requires a bit more effort to install. First you need to make SURE you have this keyboard below ALREADY installed:
If you do, you can now download the files, unzip them, and copy them all to the Windows folder, overwriting the original files. You will need to use Resco File Explorer, Total Commander or a Windows PC to copy them. File Explorer does not work.
Then you soft reset your phone and you should have the new skin installed.

Here is one i found, i didnt do anything to it, im just uploading it again because its so great and fits in with our Touch Cruises so well. When i get a chance i want to work out how to turn the white bits red and lime and blue etc to match the M2D themes above. I tried "replace Colour" with photoshop but it just gave me a horrible pixelated mess.
Polaris Flower Startup Screen
Now the following to screens replace the second or third screens you see when you boot your device. I cant remember which one exactly. These match the "Red" and "Lime" themes up above. These also wernt done by me but im uploading them again because i think they fit in perfectly.
Simply rename them welcomehead.96 then disable touchflo, copy them to the Windows folder, then re-enable Touch flo! You may need to use TotalCommander to copy it over if File Explorer wont let you.

S2U2 GFX
Well here is another Beta, this time for S2u2 graphics. I might redo the clock because that look is a bit dated. Or maybe i might redo the clock in the M2D theme to match this one..hmm..decisions...
Anyway here are the files, just copy the gfx folder into your S2U2 folder, overwriting the old gfx folder. It has been tried and tested on S2U2 Version 2.01
Dont know if ive skinned all the files but most of them are done.

great effort mate - thanks for sharing
GREAT!
Thank you!
*wipes brow* just finished redoing all the buttons for the Lime Dialer. Its quite striking to say the least. Its still a beta though, with the secondary screen still having the normal buttons but 80% of it is done.
Thank you for your Comm Manager, anybody there can guide me to get 3G to GSM button instead of data connection button. My problem is, i am using 3D setting SIM card when i set to 2G postpaid, 3G celcom still appear at today screen. TQ
Well ive added a Red Comm Manager. Its a beta because when you select something the highlighter doesnt go away. Everything works but if you select more than one thing it just looks a little odd...i might have to switch to a different comm manager to fix the issue..hmmm
To change the options in the Comm Manager use "Advanced Config". Open it > Menu > More Settings > Comm Manager >
EDIT: Well ive been fiddling with the registry settings today and i have found where to change the text on the secondary screen in the dialers, but ive tried two colours and they both turned out blue (wtf?). Ill have to read up on my hexadecimals
EDIT: I did it! I managed to get the text to black. Its a slightly brighter red than the dialer because i dont know how broad the colour range is. Ill upload soon.
EDIT: Well im now uploading Beta 4 of the Dialer. Ive skinned the buttons on the secondary screen when you press down on them. They are now white instead of black to match the other buttons. Ive also moved the red bar down a few pixels so the Mobile Carrier fits on the grey space and doesnt hang over.
EDIT: Im going to try skinning a SIP now. In the same Red and Lime (and black). I dont know how its going to turn out. It might be too difficult to see in all but the perfect conditions. But we will see how it goes....Ill post up some screenshots of the Alphas if i have any luck doing it.
EDIT: Ive updated the Lime Dialer to the new secondary screen. So now they are both 95% skinned. It seems you cant finely tune the colours for the text. Perhaps they only have a 256 colour palette? Im going to leave them how they are for now, while i try fixing the Comm Manager issue. The SIP might take a bit longer than expected. I have crappy wireless internet at the moment and downloading anything is a major pain.
EDIT: *Sigh* why must everythg be so difficult. I tried skinning the default HTC keyboard and all was going well until i loaded it on my Polaris. It doesnt change any graphics, even though i loaded a cab on with the new ones. It leads me to suspect that the CAB is not overwriting the existing files, but simply creating a copy...thus not getting used. I need to work out how to delete the original keyboard files so the only ones in use are the ones i install with the cab. ARGH!
Well after 2 hours of tinkering ive finally worked out how to make skins for the HTC Keyboard.
Im going to do the keypad layout first as its the easiest to do lol
Ok im uploading the 12 button keyboard skin.
Please take note of the following:
This is for the 12 button keyboard ONLY, all other symbol screens and other keyboards have not been skinned yet.
To install it you will need to use Resco Explorer or Total Commander.
Please make sure you already have the keyboard installed, these are the skin files only, not the keyboard itself.
This skin is for English countries only
To uninstall you will need to copy the original files back over, if anyone needs them i will upload them, just send me a message.
EDIT: Im going to try skinning S2U2 now...what else do people want skinned???
