SDHC support on htc devices - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

here the news: http://www.mobiholics.com/content/P...106/SDHC-comes-to-Eten-devices-via-the-users/
is it possible to have the same things on htc devices?

As far as I know, all new HTC devices that run WM6 have SDHC support built-in. Also, some of the ROM wizards here have back-ported SDHC support to the Hermes/Tytn as part of the unofficial WM6 update.

My Hermes with its WM6 rom is happily using a 6GB SDHC card

cab or oem
Can anybody attach cab or oem pack of this htc_driver?

Artemis doesn't have the sdhc support, even with wm6... i think

Thanks
I had SPV M3100(jasjam) With WM6 .. Is It Work With Me?

Hi, you might find something useful here. I’ve tried to collate some of the patches found around the forum.
Maybe someone with a SDHC card that doesn’t have support can try out a combination and see how you get on.

Windows Mobile SE - Any news or confirmed screenshots...

About a week ago we were all getting excited about the XDA II & SE and all the new product anouncements........ and..... its all gone very quiet....
Does anyone have any updates, a confirmed release date, or screenshots to confirm its going to happen ?
The latest news has O2 not releasing the SE update for XDA II devices. (File under "ways to lose repeat business and word of mouth.")

Yes, but they *are* releasing SE for the XDA IIs and IIi. I doubt it'll be too hard to port the ROM accross, as they're basically the same hardware with a little added WiFi and keyboard.
WM2003SE
No any news!!!!
if manufacturer release rom for WM2003SE, it will kill the market of XDA2s & XDA2i models which will roms on WM2003SE.
let's hope WM2003SE for our device!!!.
and now !! FORGET IT about SE !!!!
thanks
Ajong
Can we cook a ROM for the MDA 2 based on SE?
Hi folks:
I don't need the little keyboard and I don't need Wi-Fi. But I do need the landscape rotation on the fly (Nyditot does not quite do it). Of course, the solution is a ROM cooked with SE as its base.
Can this be done?
Thanks,
Fernando
there is no such thing as people being able to cook with a basic windows ce version
all roms ever installed on our devices have been modified versions of roms released from htc
pocketpc is not like windows where you can install it on different pc's with different hardware
all drivers are hardcoded and all devices must be present and the same
thats the reason you cant install a xda2 rom on a xda1 or a ipaq rom on any of them
and people cant install xda3 on the rest of them
so unless they as in htc (o2 tmobile ...) release 2003SE to xda2 and xda1 then i dont see it happening
I have an XDAII ROM running perfectly on my XDAI
And have every intention of trying to upgrade it to SE when somone takes the ROM off the XDAIII and it shows up in a ROM kitchen.
Yes it may invalidate my warranty and some inbuilt utils are useless(WLAN / photo / bluetooth) on the XDA I - but overall it will be an upgrade to have landscape capability and other inclusions.
Just because it's not an official upgrade does not mean that the smart folks here won't find a way to make it work ( but at your own risk)!!
which version is that ?
1.60? 1.66? 1.72 ?
i've never heard anybody doing that before
are you sure you just dont have a 2003 xda1 rom on your device ?
Good point -
I should have been clearer.
It is ROM version 4.00.05 which I had cooked from a kitchen.
I have recently cooked another ROM with base version 4.01.12!
Will this not work on the XDA1 then?
Please advise as I have not yet installed it.
Do you feel that the WM2003 SE will not be able to be ported to an XDA2 as an upgrade unofficially??
Jayman
yes it will as will all roms made in kitchens
there are no kitchens for xda2 roms because they use the extented rom to store special programs and cant have them cooked the way
xda1 roms can so you can install that rom just like the one you already have
Thanks for clearing that up.
So do you think this community will be able to find a work around to port WM2003SE to the XDA2?
As it will effect my hardware upgrade path decision.
Thanks
Jayman

Check the WM6 forum under Hermes. You should be able to find what you are looking for there.

Is there a way?

I jus got my 8525 to replace my bricked wizard and im wondering if there is somekind of driver to make it support sdhc cards?
Install a recent WM6 ROM (of which there are many here).
is there a way i can do it on a stock rom cause im scared to flash after my incident
Is there not an official WM6 ROM for the 8525?
is sdhc supported in the official wm6

8GB microSD from Sandisk on Hermes?

Anybody tried it out? Is it work ok on Hermes?
Yes I have and yes it does ! I'm using mine with the official AT&T WM 6 release.
Great news! Thanks!
just to clarify b4 anyone goes out and buys the wrong thing.
IIRC
you WILL need WM06 with the *edit SDHC edit* patch applied to the rom to work with micro SDHC cards.
all 4GB and 8GB cards will be the SDHC type, so make sure you're not trying to get it working with a stock *EDIT WM05 EDIT* opperator rom.
I have WM6 with Dopod Official on my Hermes and 4GB SDHC works perfect on it. I guess in this case 8GB card will work as well.

This is not the case! I have the absolutely stock AT&T WM6 rom and it works fine with my 8gb SanDisk SDHC card. Don't spread misinformation!
I stand corrected!
(although i was thinking more about stock WM05 roms)
I wonder if you'rs works becuase AT&T included the SDHC fix also?
I can't say this absolutely as I have not checked all WM6 roms.... but my understanding is that SDHC support is part of WM6. Again: That's difficult to say absolutely because we've seen many sources for WM6 roms... so it's possible not all support it. However, I've run several different WM6 roms (Black Satin, vp3g as examples) with a 4gb SDHC card and never had problems. I've only run the AT&T release with the 8gb card though. The AT&T release has met all my various needs so I've stuck with it.
I just bought an 8GB DSHC (sandisk, class 4).
I am running windows black and it doesn't see it. Any ideas? Can I apply this patch?

Did you had previously 4GB DSHC card? Are you running WM6?
I am running a german T-Moblile WM6 with a Sandisk 6GB micro SDHC without any problems.

What is "windows black"? Is it based on WM 5 or WM 6?
I previously had a 2GB micro sd card.
However, I am running windows mobile 2006 (the black pro 3.0.1 ROM).
I understand windows mobile 6 should read the SDHC cards with no problem. Could it be that this ROM doesn't include the drivers? Or should I apply some patch? Or could it be a hardware issue with my phone?
Hmmm..... I found the following post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332069
which says about the black pro rom:
"The ROM is too old and does not feature the SDHC driver. Try to use another one."
According to the 4winmobile forums... the Black Shadow and Satin roms do support SDHC. Suggest you upgrade to one of these or one of the more recent black releases. I'm not aware of any drivers you can install post rom installation, but maybe someone else will chime in on this.
I personally like the AT&T official release and it works with my 8gb SanDisk !
Thanks mate. Will try to upgrade.
Sooo.... just to confirm if I upgrade my at&t 8525 from WM5 to the at&t WM6 upgrade and leave it stock it will see all 8gb of a sandisk 8gb microsd sdhc card?
Indeed, I have upgraded to Schap's WM6 Pro 4.22 and it works just fine now.
Cheers,
Dan

Yep. I also have schaps WM6 PRO 4.22 and it works fine with 6GB SDHC card. So, go for it.
almost all the new roms.. well the full ones anyway have sdhc support. Its not gonna be a problem for much longer. I suggest some of the newer schaps roms. Ive no problems. Im fact im looking at a 16g. So well see if it will work.

SDHC+WM5

For those of you who don't want to upgrade your Trinity to WM6 due to warranty issues i'll upload some patch guys from HTC Romania have just given and applied to me. So far I'm using an Kingston 4GB SDHC class4 without any problems.
Cheers
Hi. I've recently got a Trinity branded as Orange M700. Running WM5 with messaging and security feature pack. OS 5.1.342 (build 15096.3.0.0).
I've put a micro SDHC 4gb card in using a mini SD adapter. It works fine, didn't need to apply the sdhc.cab

SDHC patch
Sory, been away of my PC for some time so I couldn't check this forum
My ROM is 1.23.405.2
Actually I'm not sure about this SDHC patch. When I decided to get a 4gb card I searched trough the foums here and it looked the only way to get one working was to upgrade to WM6. When I contacted HTC Romania they told me it was not necessary to upgrade but to aply SDHC patch.
I noticed that when I had SDHC patch installed my iGo2006+ was not working anymore. All I did was to remove SDHC patch and iGo was up & running again and my SDHC was working fine.
I haven't checked whether SDHC cards work on WM5 but I will let you know as soon as I hard reset my Trinity (hopefully not very soon ).
