[Q] Does anyone can use HDMI output with custom rom??

I used to have HDMI output on 3.01 stock rom...
So my HDMI cable is ok...
I tried many custom rom (Taboonay, HV, Thrive, Picasso, stock 3.1...) and no more TV Output anymore.... Am i missing something ?
Nobody needs this?
Some devs could fix output?
Cause it's the mean thing who'll make my choice...
i used galaxy, thrive roms and now prime rom, video/audio hdmi is good?
maybe bad hdmi plug on your machine or cable defective?
really?
HDMI works good on Thrive rom?
Really good news because i loved the extras (was it this one with battery percent in systray?.... i tried so many recently... hard to remember...)
So i will try with another cable...
If it's the HDMI port which is damaged.... what a shame!.... i take care of my tablet!
Anyway thanks for your reply!

lol. I can use any headphone with my play(r800i).
Thanks! It works! ^_^!
Sony is not preventing you from using other headphones dummy... Some jacks are to fat and wont fit but 95% of them will there is no mechanicle issue preventing you from using headphones every jack ive tried is fine

im not the same person but i have also found i can use any headphones with my PLAY for clarification its a 2011 model r800i unbranded.
mine also shipped with 2.3.3 and had an option to chnage auto brightness and Xloud already installed
You can also get an adapter from ebay which lets you use any headphones on the xperia 2011 phones - this does not however enable you to use the microphone on these unsupported headsets.
It's just a 3.5mm headphone jack. All my headphones have worked fine.

The "standard" 3.5mm headphone jack is CTIA whereas xperia 2011 devices are OMTP...For no good reason =|

Then you're lucky.
Since when can't you plug other headphones into the XPlay? As others have said it's just a standard 3.5mm jack. Just about any headphones will work in it.

*sigh*
Not all headphones work.
I'm thinking it's mostly TRRS headsets/headphones with mic that appear to be incompatible.
has anyone tried one of these?

can't seem to find too many places to get these
No problem

Ahh, yes, it seems that this is strictly related to headsets..my bad. I've only used headphones, never wired headsets.

I've tried plenty, from Sony headphones to Samsung earbuds to HP wrap-around earphones and generic no-name earbuds and they have all worked. Every single one of them.
Headsets on the other hand might be a different story, as I haven't tried headsets so I wouldn't know. But I don't see why headphones wouldn't work.
I've tried quite a few in HMV, they all worked.

Have a couple pairs of MEE headsets and the adapter works. Never used it for mic purposes, though. Just use them as cheap but decent pair of headphones.
Is this a joke or are people this stupid? First off, this doesn't apply to any r800x, THEY CAME WITH ADAPTERS. Second, Sony will GIVE YOU ONE, all u do is ask. so instead of doing this moronic trick, use your head.
Explain
Can anyone explain why and how this works? dont want to break good headphones if iam not guaranteed it will work?

New Owner with checklist ...am I missing anything? Recommendations are welcome

Hello all!
So I am getting the Note on Tuesday or so and this is a list of things I will be getting with it.
#1 Blue Galaxy Note (of course)
#2 2 cases
#3 2 anker batteries
#4 charging dock
#5 screen protector
#6 SANOXY Micro USB Host Mode OTG Cable
#7 EXPANSYS MHL microUSB to HDMI Adapter
#8 HDMI Cable 2M
# 9 RII Mini Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard
And I think that is it for now. I will be using a PS3 controller for gaming and the mini keyboard would be nice to use also with my HTPC.
Then on the software side, it is currently running CM9.
From what I have read flashing from recovery with CM9 is no problem...correct? Or do I still want to use Odin, etc?
I just hope my emulators are all working
And I hope Netflix TV out also works as it never worked with my Captivate. I could do others but not Netflix.
Any recommendations or suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks!
Maybe you want to get a longer micro usb cable. The one that comes with the Note is awfully short.
Good one. That indeed is something I did with my Captivate. Is this a normal usb I can get locally ?
And from whom you will get all this? Nice package btw...

Some of it came with the phone from the original owner the rest I am getting from different places. Just wanting to get the full experience right away
Looks like I made a stupid move by asking the other user to flash CM9 because I just read the CM9 log:
Speakerphone is a bit broken
USB OTG doesn't work
MHL doesn't work
So two cables I wont be able to use right away.
I guess its time to start reading up on what I can use to get those working.

What you need is a cable usb type a (ordinary usb plug) - micro usb. You can get any such cable, it's not necessary that the cable meets any specific requirements.

But you can go back to GB,right? Just be very careful! and read all guide.

Yeah I have been considering GB for sure but it seems ICS is "safe" as long as I dont user recovery or trying to reset it.
decisions...
Yeah,but on GB everything works.

Volume Mod?

Has anyone come across a Louder Volume Mod for our Sprint version yet? I saw another thread for other S7E phones but nothing for the G935P.
