Hey folks!
My Charmer (esp. MDA compact II - T-Mobile Austria) is already (more or less) unbranded. Only in Speed-Dial (and in the Call-History) it still shows a grey field with the number (resp. in- or outgoing calls) - this grey must be a rest of the T-Mobile version, but i have no idea how to change this (I've searched and tried to fix the registry, searched in the .dlls, if there are pictures, etc, etc.
Does anyone of you know how to fix this tricky thing?

An "unusual" solution but recommended fom my side:
switch to WM6
WM6 is in my opinion much better.

i have a t-mobile mda vario aka wizard with dutch wm5
But i don't have the transcriber or handwriting options,
They are writen in the manual.
Ain't they availeble at all, or as a seperate install..

I am missing this functionality also. Well I tried your solution but although Transcriber installed on the device OK, it does not work for me. It appears in the input-selection dialog when using Word, but selecting it does nothing - just sticks with virtual keyboard input unfortunately.
Any other ideas, or comments on whether others have found the same?

Hi tried transcriber and getting same problem as you, activating it does nothing! Help!

Both these apps don't have a dutch version, so thats why T-mobile NL decided to leave them out. There should be a patch coming.
But who cares about that stuff anyway. Did you notice there is a complete keyboard you can slide out?
I have experience with the older ppc models and believe me,

hard reset my vario and transcribe seems to be built in and working now... can't remember seeing it before.....

Hi there,
I want to buy a Qtek 9100 (German Version) or a MDA Vario (sold via T-Mobile Germany). But I am unsure which one to choose.
Obviously I want to get rid of the 3rd party apps within the Extended ROM, like Intellidialer, Voice Dial, etc.
Is there a detailed list of the MDA Vario German (!) available, which explains the different modules / CAB files?
The reason I prefer the MDA Vario and to delete the 3rd party apps, is because of the firmware support. At least T-Mobile is offering sometimes firmware upgrades (happend to my MDA Compact) several times, instead of Qtek, where I can't find anything like that, which I found a little bit disappointing.
Or is Qtek offering upgrades (if necessary) as well somewhere???

i've had chance to play with v1605 in Vodafone UK shop and i've noticed that vodafone has ripped off default Windows Mobile Today plugins, such as calendar, todo list, owner information etc. personally i really think it's crap thing to do, but is there any way to get them back? some reghack or maybe installing them from some .cab? anyone who using vodafone's Hermes/TyTN found way to do it?
btw, the model which i played with, had S/N HT626 and in fact some keys on sliding keyboard needed more pressure to make them work. other interesing news - it was unlocked! my Virgin Mobile SIM card worked fine.

thanks, however since i have MDA Vario II with all standard plugins present, i don't need that solution any more. but maybe someone else will find it useful.

I'm using Ameo with orig. WM6 T-mobile Germany.
I'm searching for a way to get rid of (not even to disable it) the smartdialing-function.
Because this prog doesn't special characters (as "ä", "ö", "ü") it's useless for me and I'd like to use the WM6 built-in functionality. The original has all special characters and since WM6 it does all the same then HTC's Smartdialing - but much better.....
Is there anybody knowing a way to get rid off - and the original working???

I have searched and searched for the answer to this but cant fnd it.
I downloaded and installed schaps latest wm6 rom for my m3100 (v4.3 I believe) and its running lovely. My voicemail isnt working though, no notification icon and I get strage text messages like _^
I am with Orange.
I read somewhere about a CAB file? Dont know what one of them is (ddnt know what a ROM was until 3 days ago though) so can anyone tell me if / where one exists to fix this and what to do with it. If not, is there another way.
Incidentally, I never realised there was a whole world of smartphone developers out there. I have always gone for standard phone, seperate satnav, camera, ipod etc. There are some far to intelligent people on these forums!!!!!!11
