Brodit Ative Holder - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Accessories

Just ordered a Brodit Active Holder for my Kaiser. It is really nice since you can also use it horizontally and slide out the keyboard...

just out off curiosity: where have you ordered your brodit active holder, and what did it cost??

The cheapest I found was here: http://www.pdaplus.nl/catalog/brodit-m-1.html Although it is not in stock right now... But I emailed them and they said they are expecting the first shipment end of this week beggining of next. So I went ahead and ordered one since they are the cheapest.

Do you know if the Brodit active holder has an output for an external speaker? and an input for an external microphone?

there is an alternative:
1. http://www.expansys.nl/p.aspx?i=157109&asource=154149 this is just the holder....
2. http://www.expansys.nl/p.aspx?i=157108&asource=154149 fullduplex carkit.... and if you ever buy a different device you can always just buy a different holder.... http://www.carcomm.nl they make stuff for a lot of devices... I just find it a bit too expensive.

Yes, that is what I looked for..
but indeed, the price is really high..and as far as i can see, no possibility to use the keyboard.
I hope your Brodit Activ holder will satisfy.

My order shipped yesterday so I hope to get it today already... I shall report as soon as I get it and install it...

My Holder has arrived...
Well I am impressed. I use Brodit Proclip already for a while, and still have a holder for my MDA PRO, but this is just perfect... Stable and, we dutch say, "Degelijk". Extremely happy with it. Turn it and the device is in horisontal stand and if you slide the keyboard TOMTOM is changing orientation as well. The Place where the mini USB connector sits is completely sealed, I think it is molded although you see a seam , but I think it is glued not with a glue but by heat. So I am afraid you can not just take it apart...

Mine will be here tomorrow. Got upgraded shipping from proclipusa.com since my order was delayed due to stock issues.
Cannot wait to get this mounted in the truck. I've had a proclip mount for my Axim for years now.

I use the mount from these guys for my iPod.
I'll be getting one from them for my Tilt
http://www.proclipusa.com/home/home.aspx

i'm sad i ordered the whole mount thing from proclip...
Your order has been placed on back order. Unfortunately, we are out of stock on item number 971752. The ESTIMATED ship date for your order is 11/02/2007.
i hate waiting for new toys.

Do we know for sure that these accessories are working? I heard somebody say that his Tytn car charger did not work with the Kaiser.
I know the Boxwave USB car charger (the 1 amp version) works -- I bought it for my Wizard a year ago & have used it with my Kaiser.

Most TyTn/Hermes accys should be fine. I plugged my Kaiser into my 8525 chargers and even a Sedio tyTn Charge cradle base and they all work fine.
Folks,
Just buy the Motorola charging devices (mini-usb), they work fine with my Wizard and my Kaiser as well!!

i ordered 2 sync cables 2 weeks ago and they never arrived. my credit card company is going to dispute the charge. boxwave said to email them by the 25th and they would resend the order. i never had a problem like this before and i have been ordering online for years. i have dealt with boxwave in the past and had quick shipping.
i ordered and received a Boxwave screen protector but it's too long and doesn't fit. i'm waiting for a response so i can return it. think i'll stick with Martin Fields, that is, assuming they have one for the Tytn II.
As I mentioned in another topic, go with P3300 screenprotectors. They are identical in size.

OKAY, Whats the BEST CASE on the market??

Hi,
So I have had the Kaiser for over a month already. I need a case!! What is the top quality case out right now? Is it www.proporta.com, or another manufacturer?
Cheers,
Phil
or this one, http://www.krusell.se/product.php?productID=2774?
I am siding with the Proporta though. What else?
Phil
I really hope that the Noreve case thats supposed to be coming out for the Kaiser isnt one that doesnt allow you to use the keyboard while it is in the case...and i wish it would be coming out soon, they keep on pushing it..

Vaja cases are amazing, but they r $65
Kaiser Case Options
For the time being, I'm getting by ok on the stock Kaiser case along with a small neoprene case from OP/ Tech USA. The Velcro on the stock case will lose its grip over time and repeated use and that fact alone has me case hunting too.
The OP/ tech case is useful for when I just want to carry the phone someplace other than clipped to my belt (say a cargo pocket). There is a clip on it too if need be. The real plus for me is its utility & bang for the buck: the case provides shock & screen protection and even a bit of water resistance with minimal bulk. It stashes well and the price is right. There are color options too. I’ve used these cases for cameras, GPS and cell phones for some time now and like them a lot.
http://optechusa.com/product/detail/?PRODUCT_ID=35&PRODUCT_SUB_ID=
Mind you, I’m still looking for a different leather case that is appropriate in business environment. This one looks kind of interesting at the moment.

I am a big fan of the Krusell cases. I have one for my 3125, 8125, 8525, and my son's SLVR. But the one they have specific for the Tilt/TyTN II I don't really care for. And I've decided I like the looks of the Tilt so much I don't want to cover it up with that style of case. *better to show it off when pulling it out* I am swaying to a horizonal case like the one you linked to. Could elaborate on the "bulkiness" of that case. Does it compare to the one that came with the 8125?
I should have my Proporta case in the next few days. Will post a review when I've got it.

I'm sure it comes with this one. Works great holding on to a belt. Another thing I like about the Krusell is their Multidapt consept. See here Provides a lot of versitility on how and were one can attach there phone.
The Krusell Horizontic case I am using is slightly bulkier than the one supplied with the Tytn II. It however seems sturdier in offering protection to the device. The case can by attached either via the supplied clip or via the two belt loops at the back. I also like the fact that it closes by means of a magnetic button, and not via a velcro strip.
Krusell also offer a lifetime guarantee on the products. I am mentioning this not that I have any connection with them, but because I once sent in a case for a replacement and this was done with no questions asked.
I bought one of these cases on Ebay. It arrived Friday and I found it to be a perfect fit. All the cutouts match up and it's very well made.

Hi,
I am new and have the TyTN II for two weeks now. Beautifulll!
My previous model P3300 is lighter though, but hasn't features I really wanted to have (HSDPA f.i.)
On topic now:
I've ordered a case from pielframa for the P3300 beginning this year and the quality/fit was awesome. I've emailed them last week and they informed me the TyTN II case is in the making (<-- I'm dutch, so not sure if this is correct) by there design department and will be on the market soon.
Reading the posts here I think the noreve.com case mentioned by "hofo_mofo" looks like it is good quality with perfect fit too. Just wanted to add pielframa on this thread as their case for my P3300 was just perfect!
As soon the TyTN II case from pielframa comes out it's mine, I will be really carefull till then in the meantime
It is available

I like Pielframa cases, having had one for a previous pda. They are of a good quality and fit. However, what type of Pielframa case are you after? Is it the one where to talk on the phone you have a flap of leather dangling about? I don't particularly like that design for a phone.

What's a good windsheild mount holder for the Kaiser?

I bought a windsheild mount PDA holder from ebay a while back and it worked okay but it was cheaply made and it wound up breaking. The phone fell right out of it one day and hit the shifter. I am lucky the screen didnt break.
Anyway, I am looking for a new one and I would like one that can rotate so I can use it in landscape orientation as well, or even with the keyboard expanded. Does such a beast exist?
I would like to see what recomendations you guys have on this. I have searched online at cell accessory shops and there's alot to choose from but many look like the cheaply made one I am trying to replace.
I bought mine from one of those "we sell everything for your phone!" stalls in a market.
Has adjustable width (spring-loaded with cushioned side bits for grip), the arm can bend anywhere you like, and the windscreen mount is a suction cup with a kinda plastic 'lock' (like on a tomtom) to hold it securely.
Hasn't budged since I bought it several months ago for another handset.
Try a market stall, that's my advice. Paid about a tenner (gbp).
In fact... just found a link to the exact same thing. fiver. bargain

Cool, found a few of them for sale from merchants in the States. Thanks for the info!
Got mine at Best Buys.

I've have this one, from Expansys. It's a bit more expensive than the one mentioned, but depending on the durability, this one could last through several different phones.

I've had no problems with it so far!
Matt
Bracketron
I got my holder, a bracketron universal holder from best buy for around $30.00
it has an adjustable grip, and can accomodate most devices. It also swivels so that I can use my tilt in either landscape or portrait.
Bracketron here also...
I didn't get the windshield mount though. The one i purchased locks on to the air vent, but bracketron makes the same mount with a flexible-arm windshield mount (suction cup), or you can buy the arm part seperately.
Very pleased with it so far: foam-rubber grip where it contacts the phone, rotates, locks tightly by simply squeezing and releases with the push of a button.
Bought it at Best Buy, $19.95 US.

HTC OEM Case: Will it work for Fuze?

The case below is a horizontal pouch style. I am curious about the fit. IT was originally marketed with the HTC Touch Dual styled devices. Do you guys think it would be a good fit for the Fuze?
http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-TOUCH-OEM-E...14&_trkparms=72:1240|66:4|65:12|39:1|240:1318
The other option for me is another OEM case shown here:
http://www.windowsmobilenow.com/us/p_wm_acc1.aspx?i=169487&partner=wmusfroogle
If anyone has either of these cases I would really like your comments on fit. I expect the finish will be similar to the finish of the HTC OEM Tytn case that I currently carry. Any help is appreciated as i need to protect her soon. My front pocket is not the ideal carry spot for me and the Tytn case is simply too big for the Fuze.
I'm using the S322 case, magnetic closure instead of velcro, for my T-Mobile MDA Vario IV (Raphael 300).
Bit tight in the early days, but works like a charm.
You mention that yours has a magnetic closure instead of velcro. Did they release both variants? Where did you purchase from and how did you ensure that you got the right one.
I bought it at a mobile phone shop in the nearest city, don't remember which one...
It was in an original HTC blister packaging, they removed it so I could try it on my Vario IV.
As I already stated, a tight fit, so I handed over 16 € and left them the blister packaging
It has one magnet, not as powerfull as the two in the TyTN case but strong enough.
Don't know about the velcro closure, it's not mentioned on the Dutch site, it's mentioned on the UK site and the Expansys site. (who are running the European htc accessory store)
Thanks for your input. Unfortunately, most US dealers never carry OEM cases, and I am forced to buy online sight unseen. I like a snug fit that develops into a perfect fit as you've described so I guess I just need to make my purchase.

@Venelar,
Please post some photos of the phone in the case and out. I would love to see as many as you could post.
EDIT:
I went by my local BestBuy, and sure enough that is the exact case that I already have. IMNSHO that case is too large for the phone. I will be trying to secure the HTC PO S322.

Take a look at Brodit carholders/kits. Had one for my Tytn2 and it did the job good. Now i bought one for my HD. There are also many mounts for the holder especially for your car.
Clib for you car
Holder for Touch HD
Sorry is in Dutch
Brodit with the proclip! Excelent quality, won't bounch like some windscreen ones will do.
I can recommend Brodit with ProClip. (http://www.brodit.com/?lang=E)
Everyone here promotes the Brodit holder, but I understand that you have to buy a mounting device for your specific car? I change cars really frequently, so that would mean I would have to buy a new mounting device every time ??
There is a Blackstone accessories section...
Tesco special, £5.99.... what can I say, I'm a cheap slag
Potnoodle anyone?
I have the brodit mount, hardwired into the car (new Ford Mondeo). I do not change cars frequently (every 3 years or so) but do change phones frequently. Brodit is ideal as you can just screw the new mount on your existing clip, and the wiring is not to difficult as well. As I use the tomtom quite a bit on the phone (as I did on the cruise) it is very usefull having it charging all the time while in the car. Can definitely recommend
If you change cars very frequently, the Brodit holder is probably not the best solution.
It is true, that you would need a ProClip for every car you use, so that would be quite expensive.
There are better solutions for that scenarion, I guess.

Well if he changes cars frequently, you can't tell me that a ~30€ clib then is expensive. My Point is Brodit has a good and stable solution without screwing upp you dashboard. When he buyes a new car just me sure the clib is included...with the buy No car salesman will let you go ....
Maybe they're just different rental cars or company cars, in which case I doubt he would always get a new clip.
Otherwise you're right, it should be no problem to get a clip with a new car.

i wouldn't recomment the powered holders.
i had one for my HTC TYTNII and it damaged the mini usb socket on the bottom of the handset.
so just get the holder and use a loose charging lead.
so the set up in my car is:-
Brodit holder
on dashmount bracket (its metal and stronger then proclip)
HTC incar charger
THB cc9060 handsfree car kit with A2DP music
Brodit is the one!!
