HTC P3600 Trinity Orange MPV700 and Audi BlueTooth - P3600 General

I recently became the owner of the above phone. I have read many many posts on this forum and have gleaned many snippets of informaiton, but guys and girls, you don't half have a lot of terminology that baffles an outsider to the other side of disbelief.
I am a programmer by trade, big computers and databases, you guys have managed to confuse the hell out of me.
Anyway, a bit of advise please
My Orange MV700 works in Hands Free Mode (Phone pairs with Audi as BT handsfree) with my Audi Bluetooth (2007 A6 with MMI), in that I can access most features of the phone . last calls, missed calls, directory (Windows Contacts listed as Contactt1/W Contact2/M etc. This is good as I can store multiple numbers per contact. The only downside I believe is that I cannot benefit form using the cars inbuilt aerial which requires Remote Sim Access which I believe Orange turn off.
My Previous phone a samsung had rsap (pair to phone from car kit) but only listed one number per contact (either from phone memory [which will allow more than one number per contact] or the sim), it used the phones aerial but since the phone was so crap in the first place I was lucky to get a 30 second call without fallout.
I would consider enabling rsap on my phone if I can still have access to the windows contacts in the same way I do now, or is Sim Access limited to reading only info on the sim?
I would also consider upgrading to Windows Mobile 6 if it works on my phone and I can have the desired usage that I mentioned previously.
If anyone can make use of the firmware of my phone please let me know with instructions of how to extract and it.
Many thanks for your attention to this matter.
Cheers

Bluetooth filesharing problems

Hey!
I just recently tried to share photo's with my girlfriend's Sony Ericsson T610. I can set up the bond ok, I can send pictures from her phone to my XDAII, but I cant send pictures (or contacts) from mine to hers.
I go to "beam file" select her device, & tap to send........ then it states "sending file 1/1" but that's it, you can see that a transfer is beinng attempted on her phone's display, but the prompt to accept or reject the file never appears. It takes something like 10mins for the XDA to report the failure, and you cannot seem to cancel the transfer - the word cancelling comes up, but then the screen freezes (you can still get to other applications throught the start bar)
Has anyone lese had this problem - will it be fixed by the bluetooth update, or the o2 update..... or anything?
cheers.
I have had exactly the same problem, same situation with a T610, 3 months ago on original ROM.
Haven't tried it after the ROM upgrade though. I'm anxious to know too.
whoops..me too..
it freeezes when i try to send files over BT to other phones!
Hmm..And I can't install BT Tools because it disable ActiveSync via Bluetooth..hmm..
Will try other thirdy part software..
Might have a POTENTIALLY useful piece of info for you here folks...
You see, I'm originally an Orange E200 SPV Smartphone user.
Sad as it might sound, there is NO inbuilt functionality in the phone (Windows Mobile 2003 based) for sending files by BT.
So some clever people who write a third party software File Manager app - Smart Explorer I think it is, decided to include there own support for Bluetooth sending of files in the program.
BUT - this is where things may start getting interesting...
What they found was that with the first beta, phones just like the SE T610 for example, could not receive files.
Testing by them, found that this was because certain types of phones could not receive files via BT, when sent at full transmit protocol speed, and no facility existed for them to simply 'drop down' to lowest common speed.
How they got around this, was by including an option, in the next version of their program, to include a little tick box, to "Send at full speed".
Thus, by default, lower speed is used, so as to ensure full compatibility.
But if you KNOW the device you were sending to supports full speed, you can just check the "Full speed" box as it is sending, at it switches to faster speed.
Relating all that babble and background info to the XDA2 etc, it isn't too far a leap of knowledge, to wonder if the same problem applies, whereby the XDA2 defaults to sending files by BT at FULL transmit protocol speeds, and of course, certain phones, such as the T610, can't receive at this speed, and simply sit there confused.
A guess, nothing more. But based on my experiences of the E200 smartphone, and what the problem was then, I can't help but suspect that the problem of certain phones not being able to negotiate full speed BT transfer, is what might be the issue here too.
Just a thought...
..And so..For transfer Files via BT we Must wait for WM2k3 SE?
..Ehm,Maybe u will find it useful:
I tryed transfer files to Nokia 3650,6600 (Symbian 60 and 70 phones) and sometimes the phones receive the files (but my XDA2 freezes and contiunue show me Sending...) and sometimes freezes at all and don't send nothing.
Regards
So, it means that if sending files from/to another bluetooth pocket pc, then it shouldnt has problem?
I'm the main developer of Smart Explorer for Smartphone 2002/2003. You're right Shadamehr. It seems that the Microsoft BT stack on SP 2002/2003 does not handle correctly the max packet size the remote device accepts. This happens with different devices, such as T68i or T610. I can't confirm yet that this problem also occures with XDA II (I don't have any T610 at the office).
We are actually porting Smart Explorer to Pocket PC (it was only an internal exercise and not planned to be made public). Actually, 95% of the job has been realized. I will try to find a T610 and test file transfer. I'll let you know the result. If there is some interest, we may think about putting this version on our web site.
from what i understand then many mobil phone makers block that
because background pictures and such are being sold
and if people could just share them they would not make as much money
my gf's nokia have a mmc card and i cant even put pictures on the it and choose them as background
if your xda2 can beam to other xda2's and to a pc then putting 2003SE on it is not likely to solve issues with other devices not being able to recieve from it
nice one jacoch - let me know when i can give it a whirl!!!
If its possible to send picuures from a T610 to another T610 and from a T610 to an XDA, it must be possible for a t610 to recieve pictures etc.
my XDA gone back for repairs but should be back with me soon 8)
cheers guys
Well I just tried with the T610 of a friend of mine. It seems that BT stack is even worst on XDA than it is on SPV. I have faced some hangs while shutting down the BT stack. The same appears when trying to send a file when the remote device ask to be bound first. The bounding dialog never appears and SE sit waiting from the answer of the OS. I'm not sure it's bugs as I tried on our development device that is not really fit :? (ROM 1.66)
Anyway, once the XDA II has been bound to the T610, transfer was fine (at slow speed only). I have sent successfully several 40Kb jpeg files. If we decide to make this version public, we will investigate and try to fix these troubles.
Pleeeeeease let me know if/when I can test it;
Is there any way that the Bluetooth application can be split from the bulk of the OS - to use as a patch for windows PPC? (as if you didn't have enough to do!)
 cheers!
not only the T610
Yea, have tried even with the high end SE P900, still wont accept the transfer... but the PALM units were able to send from an to 7650 and other high end units...
It really sucks to thinks XDA2 is "HIGH END/TECH PHONE" but doesnt connect /file trans thru BT.
ok is bt but is maybe a pb with ir setting read this

I have no problems BT transfer to and receive from SE P800/900.
BT file transfer to mobile phones
I have I-mate running WM2003. As described above I can recieve files from SE T610/630/Z600 but i can't send files to these devices... it writes "Sending 1/1" and that's it... although on T610 the BT sign changes to the one indicating a transfer... nothing happens in fact... for half an hour it couldn't send a 20Kb picture... I have downloaded and installed Pocket Bluetooth Tools... but what I can't figure out is what is this software at all and how it works? If anyone knows how to make my I-mate (1.66.00WWE) send files to mobile phones, please explain it to me step-by-step.... THANK YOU!!!!
so can anyone tell me a program i can use for sending files over BT. i got HS messenger for texting over BT networks but it requires both devices to be bonded. is this true for all aps? im only looking to send files from my xda2 to another xda2 if it makes it any easier
Bluetooth problems
I have exactly the same problem as Rasputin. My gf has a t610 that I cant send images to.
Is there any development on that program that will allow users to send images to these phones?

Use phone without loudspeaker

Is there a way to use the phone without a loudspeaker?
i Just got the Athena from a friend without users guide etc..
Searched the net for it but have not found anything.
I am pretty new to mobile devices (Exept ordinary phones)
Unfortunately its either SpeakerPhone, Bluetooth Headset or
Wired Headset only.
The phone was not designed for hold to head use
G
User guide is available online in PDF format. Also you might want to consider an LG Style-i. Lots of us use them with our 7501's etc. An excellent accessory, especially if you don't want to use a headset. When people see me using my Style-i they think it's a cell phone, not realising my Advantage is in my pocket or somewhere near by. Hth

Mercedes BT Remote Sim Access SAP, any news

Hi everybody,
is there any news using the Mercedes Bluetooth SAP cradle with the HTC Touch HD?
Comand will detect the Phone, but then won't trigger the authentication dialog on the phone but instead gives up immediately.
Thanks
Frank
The version using remote SIM access will not work, you have to replace it with the Hands Free Profile adaptor Mercedes Part No:B6787 5877, which works fine but doesn't use the antenna and amp built into the car, it uses the phone's own antenna so connection is not as reliable. Has been working OK for me though.
SAP compatibility
Yeh, I would of thought a high profile phone like the HD would support this.
I have had to settle for the far inferior HFP with poor connectivity and reception.
I don't think it is rocket science, but perhaps less of a priority for our wizards at XDA.
Would welcome any suggestions besides changing my phone or my car.
I'm using the MB Bluetooth cradle adaptor in an '07 ML. Pairs up and works great for answering and dialing out but there is no access to the HD phonebook or previously dialed numbers. Sad as the wifes iPhone is 100% compatible.

I have exactly the same problem, just added a new post on this!
I find that once you flash a rom you can have full functionality but when you add any extra programs you cannot view the address book or the recent calls.Very frustrating.
It would be awesome if someone stumbled upon a tweak that would correct the problem. I'll try some bluetooth setting changes in montecristoff's HD tweak and report back if I have any success.
I am using the VW Passats Sim Access Profile and this works perfectly. Make sure that the SAP is activated under the bluetooth settings on the phone..
I also cannot sync the adress book, but had the same problem with my old Touch. Guess this is a WinMob problem. A workaround is to use the SIM Manager and copy your contacts on your SIM card as well, they won't show up in the contact list anyhow. Then have the car sync with the SIM card and all is ok...

Thanks,I've tried that, unfortunately it still does not work.Considering this state of the art equipment, its very sad that there is still no solution after many years(given that I am sure this is possible with a little effort by the people in the know how).Mercedes have screwed this up big-style..again
Actually, I'm not sure its MB's fault. Like I said the wifes iPhone is 100% compatible and so was her Motorola razr before that. To me this points the finger at WM.

Actually it's Mercedez's fault. MB is known by the lack of support for BT connection on their cars...
My father has a CLS, and by default only supports a handful of mobile phones. He has a SE k800i and the CLS wont go with that phone. And there's a official list, from MB, with only a few phones that work with the builtin BT on the CLS.
On the other hand his phone works like a charm, like my HD, on my BMW S1. This also includes full support on BT SAP.
Shame to MB
Note: I don't know if these issues have changed lately, ie more support to more BT phones from MB on their cars. Maybe now MB has more support on this.
I've got a jvc headunit which is pairing nicely and auto connecting with my hd, one main issue though it it doesn't seem to be sending through the id3 tags, anyone managed to get these sent through from htc touchflo 3d?
i`m having the same problem! using the HTC Touch Pro with Mercedes Bluetooth HFP Cradle on E Class. Everything works perfect, except the thing, that i can`t see my contacts on the Command!
Any suggestions, please
N95 and SAP
I have a Nokia N95 8gb and I'm thinking of buying the Mercedes bluetooth SAP-profile for my CLK. I was a bit surprised though when I read on www.viseeo.se (in Sweden) that the SAP-profile does not import the contacts from the phone memory, only the SIM-memory.
Anybody using N95 with the MB SAP that can confirm this?
I prefer original MB products of course.
Thanks!
I can confirm that the N95 8GB works with the SAP module but you do have to copy your contacts onto the SIM.
Rapidly starting to regret getting a new Sony X1...
Are there any news about this problem?
I cannot connect the htc touch hd with the BT craddle from my mercedes glk (partnbr: A2048200535).
I had no problems with accessing the phonebook (POL and SIM) with the HFP Module on my 2005 C-Class (Comand) and my Orbit. The 2009 C-Class uses a different system so I cant say anything about the HD. BUT, I had good success (in the former car) with this little software when it came to the sync of bigger contact lists: JetWare Mobile http://www.jetwaremobile.com/
Lets you choose what contacts you want to sync. Perhaps it helps you with your problem, too.

WP8 bluetooth capabilities

Hi guys,
wanna share some experience with you. I just switched my Nissan Altima from 2011 to 2013 model, equipped with bluetooth.
But I was really surprised when my Lumia 920 was successfully detected by car, and Altima downloaded all contacts and music tracks (now L-920 is fully integrated with car bluetooth system: I can call any contact and manipulate music playback).
So, it looks like WP8 BT stack is fully compatible with the BT specs. I'm curious - what else we can do with BT (for example, from the desktop)? I have zero experience with BT (as a programmer) but may be we can use BT for device hack? (just an assumption).

I'm not sure what is exactly supported but I do know a few
Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP 1.2)
Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP 1.4
Hands Free Profile (HFP 1.5)
Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP 1.1)
Object Push Profile (OPP 1.1)
Out of Band (OOB) and Near Field Communications (NFC)
I think there is a couple more, but you won't get the full profile lists that windows mobile once had, but to be perfectly honest you probably won't miss them much anyway
As for hacking. I don't think it will help, but better people on here can answer that for sure than me.
Tho I'm still wondering if installing a SIM app on a Sim card might work, modifying the cards are possible, perhaps it will have OEM level access in doing so...

You would break the signature of the SIM card if you managed to put your own app there, only operators can make SIM apps. They are written in Java (was it Micro Edition?) and I'm not sure but I think they run on the SIM card itself rather than on the phone and they cannot access any resources from the phone itself.

that rings a bell although I thought I read somewhere that it was possible to modify the SIM programs, as for them running off the card or not I don't know, but my thoughts were, if having SIM apps appear in the settings and able to run (on the OS, but I realise it may be running within the confines of the SIM), perhaps there is a hole there waiting to be exploited...
just an idea
Well, attacking the Bluetooth stack on the phone (for example, by fuzzing raw BT data) is certainly one possible avenue. Exploiting the BT service on the phone would be hard, but possibly quite rewarding.
Beyond that, the main handy thing I've found PC-phone BT connectivity useful for is sending files to my phone (as an alternative to emailing them). The phone is happy to open files (of known types; if multiple apps can handle one type it will ask) sent this way. You can also see what's playing on the phone in a little desktop widget, and play or pause the music from there.
On a 2009 Prius connected to Bluetooth, if I get an incoming SMS it activates the BT stack and starts reading the SMS header, and then asks if I want to hear it or ignore it. If I ask to hear it, it reads it out, then asks me if I want to reply. It will actually listen to your voice and translate it to an outbound SMS.
Hell, My SGS IV can't even do that.

I find that a late 2000's automotive Bluetooth stack and Windows Phone 8 behavior on receipt of an SMS message rather impressive.
But the fact that they (MSFT) still can't assign individual SMS alert tones just blows my mind-especially in 2013.

How about calendar reminders/alerts? The fact is - MS & Nokia are simple ignoring customer needs last decade But that strategy require a marketing genius such as Steve Jobs (RIP Steve!). Balmer has all bad character traits as Jobs had: authoritarianism, excessive self-importance, egotism but have a lack of luck, charm and a brilliant foresight... What's why he's fired (of course press called it more politically correct)

SMS sync / send from head unit

Hi all,
Happy New year
I see this has been asked lots before, but I haven't as yet found a simple easy solution. Has anyone ?
I want to access my sms / email from head unit over bluetooth ideally. Headers/ notifications would be nice too.
I thought about using a bigger device such as a tablet, but would have much the same issues Plus charging, storage etc.
Wont be used when driving but when I pull up and go through them and can respond. So not really interested in apps that read them as they come in.
Head unit is a new px5 erising, mtce running android 8 untouched. Works great as is.
Phone is stock S6, android 7. un-rooted. NO usb port. (can only charge wireless)
Happy to install any apps as needed.
I have tried several apps, such as botifier, btnotifier, carmode, easyconnection, hotspot control, several smart 'device' syncs and havent got any to work. Sounds easy but have a couple issues. I dont always have data on as on payg, as most apps seem to want.
Plus not keen on google apps reporting my every whereabouts so dont have Android Auto, telling google execs what colour pants i'm wearing to sell data to advertisers to hound me..
2nd I dont fancy turning on hotspot and messing around to pair up wifi. with every journey (although I have considered getting a small AP, router for the car for both devices to connect to and thus be on the same local wifi network if that helps.)
I'm aware there are about 15 different protocols for it to work on BT which is a p.i.t.a that I dont know which I have on either device. I dont (need to) play music or do anything else from phone.
So is there an android app yet that installs whats needed and just does the simple job of remotely without fuss or needing several trips round the moon to display / reply to my sms texts on my head unit while phone is in my pocket?
Thank you.
