Thought some of you may be interested. Offer is good until October 1st as far as I know. I just got mine.

As far as I know, that was discontinued a LONG time ago.
Second, it only worked if you were opening a new account, not for existing accounts.

It is still good. That is how I got my wing on 9/17. It is for new accounts or adding a new line to a family plan, which is what I did.

I just got that phone, switched service to at&t and switched back and canceled the old account. They have to legally let you keep your number that way. And it is good until October 1st.

nice find, you should cross post this in the genreal discussion forums so that people without Wings can see this...
cheers

just signed up for this tonight... still active.

Cheap SMS (T-Mobile)

If this is in the wrong place, sorry mods.
I called T-Mob USA today for an upgrade and was sent to a "customer retention" department after threatening to defect to another carrier. Long story short they dropped my unlimited text & MMS down to $9.95 and gave me $75 off my new wing (herald). Just thought I'd post and help some of you save a buck.
Thanks fella. It worked like a charm, got unlimited txt & mms for $9.99 for both lines. I was paying the same for just 1000, but it looks like you saved 4 more pennies then I did, lol. Also Tmobile told me you have to be a preferred customer for them to do this.

Hi,
I notice your signature:

The best way to become good cook in my view is just to start and read a lot. I spent a lot of time and it is a lot of hard work to become a good cook. It's not about being taught it's about reading, learning, and testing.
As stated before I've flashed my device at least a hundred times before I was able to produce a working rom. We will assist you as needed, but it will be up to you to get it working.
Main point, it takes time and some hard work and you will get there.
You can ask anybody my first few releases had issues but I had to learn how to fix the issues and now my latest version seem to be working okay..
Good luck and I know you will get there soon.
Well thanks ttran001. I'm still trying to put together my own release, but I still need a bit of help. Mostly just simple things. I've been reading alot, and I think thats one of my problems, because I take in so much information, I don't retain it all. Maybe if you get a free minute, when your not working on one of your Great Roms, you can give me some basic tips, and tricks.

i paid 260 - $50 rebate for my wing. for a 1 year contract. I'm still paying 19.99 for unlimited text for a family plan. and I got this deal else where than a threatened tmo.
I did call tmo to cancel my old line, and they offered a wing for $360 on a 2 year contact.
Well I guess i can post how much my wing was. I used this promotion from t-mobile.
Status: Promotion still available as of 02/20/2008

Thanks jello for the original deal (which was for $99 after rebate). The original thread can be found here.
For people who have ordered it for $149 in last 20 days (30 days in california) can call Tmobile Business Back office and ask for the credit back (I did and got it back).
UPDATE: Lot of people (almost everyone here after I posted) are reporting that now they are not offering credit for past purchases. I would suggest to do a phone exchange in that case, as it doesn't affect the line/phone number. And yes, even people who have ordered other phones can exchange it with this offer, if they had purchased it with a new line in last 20 days (30 in CA).
I personally have this phone and can vouch that this is really great phone (MDA and all variants are blown away by the stylish wing). For the first time I have found a phone with decent camera too.
I paid $150 for it on Howard Forums. It came with all retail packaging and it was in perfect condition. I've since scraped the winkey and the left softkey a little bit. That made me sad.
But I did just get a clear hard plastic case for it for $6 yesterday. So hopefully it doesn't take anymore abuse. I <3 my Wing.
weird, my unlimited text and internet is already $10. they were running some sort of special when we signed up though
This deal sounds interesting. I pay $4.99 for 400 sms/mms. I wonder if I can get this deal if I called. My contract is not finished for another month or so, but I have been signed up for t-mob since 2003... maybe that makes me a preferred customer?
i tried calling. My father has been with them since 2002 (voicestream) (he has been with them CONSISTENTLY, i only sign up for new accounts under his name). i have had several accounts with them, i usually let my contract expire and jump on a new deal for a hot phone.
the issue is, now i use a WING with the 39.99 Myfaves 300 plan, and 9.99 for 1000 texts.
my contract ends in May ( i got the 1yr deal with the wing for 99.99)
I called complaining about iffy (staticky and echoe-y) service upstate NY (where i go to school) and the rep seemed so nonchalant, even repeating to me several times that he wouldnt want me to leave after 6 years. So i explained to him that i personally knew several people with the 9.99 UNLTD text plan (i have been going over because i use OZ IM) and i was ready to switch to Sprint in may (SERO plan) if he couldnt accommodate my request. He acted indifferent and said he could do nothing for me.
So unless it was just a rude rep, can someone please explain to me how i should go about attaining this deal? I really want it.
Thanks

WIng for sale!!!

hey guys. i have been the proud papa of a tmobile wing for the last month. i haven't been a member here for very long, but you guys are awesome. unfortunetly i have to give up my Wing as i got notified yesterday that i will be going overseas shortly. rather than wait to the last minute i figuered someone might be able to love my wing as much as i do while it is still fairly new. it really is in MINT condition. i clean it everyday, its always in its holster, never dropped it, or dinged it, or anything. It pretty much is new. It would probably help to let you guys know I am military. So I will be gone for a little over a year and then be coming back. I didn’t want my phone sitting there while I was gone. I hope someone can help me find a home for my Wing. Im letting it go for 300-250 or OBO. i paid about 350 a month ago. thanks
hey you got ripped off then if you paid 350 for it a month ago , i got my wing two months ago and gave dem this promotion code " windows mobile" and got my wing for 80 bucks and a free blue tooth.

what if i wanted to get 2 or 3 of the wings onto a family plan could i still get it for $50 and get unlimited family text for $20 dollars a month and have no activation fee? because on letstalk.com i can get all of that except the activation fee
I smeel a very common scam
even though the phone cost supposedly $50 you are still paying tmobile around $1000 after a year (assuming you have to get a data plan with the phone)
t-mobile is eating the cost of the hardware because you are paying for it by signing the one year contract. it doesn:t mean that the wing itself is worth $50.
doesnt sound like a scam to me at all, if you look in classified ads they go for 2-300 easy...
Just sim unlock it thru tmobile and take it with you.

Not really "$1000 after a year"; I got mine last Oct as the 3rd line to my family plan, and I paid $49 AR for the phone and $10/mon for the add'l line. So after year it's ~$200 for everything combined.

Getting The Best Deals From T-mobile:

So i just Upgrade 2 of my lines to get the Vibrant. However 1 line still had 4 months of remaining service and the 2nd line had about 8 months of remaining Service.
I'm sure most people are paying $30 Data Plan. But i was offered to pay $24.99 and given full discounts.
I Called T-Mobile and transferred over to the Loyalty Department. I have Been with them since 2006.
The Loyalty Department offered me the phone for the line with 8 months remaining for $249.99 with $50 in mail Rebate. however he instead credited my account with
$50 giving me less work so i don't have to fill any rebate forms. So in Reality I'm Paying $200 For the Vibrant + $7 for 3-Day Select Shipping= $207
The Second Line, they offered me the Phone for $230 + tax and Everything Else. But With the $24.99 Data Plan opposed to buying it online which costed me $202 with $30 data plan. in the long Run. the $230 was worth it..
I got the installment Plan to pay in 4 months, so im paying the first month $70 and the remaining $40....
Whats the point..... Well For better Deals, get in touch with the Loyalty Department. If your contract is up, then you can say you want to end the contract and that way youll get even better deals.... Regular T-mobile Reps were giving me the phone for $287 +... i think i got a good Deal? Doncha Think?
I didn't do any of that. I simply asked about getting new phones for me and my wife. $25 a month per phone starting in September. Tmobile always makes me good offers whether I ask for it or not.
buy one get one free
My contract had 5 month left on it and I simply went to the TMobile store on the launch date (7/15) and told them i would like to upgrade my line at $199 ($249 - $50 rebate) and also add my son to my account. The sales person told me they can't offer me the upgrade price. I asked her to call TMobile customer service and get an approval for the upgrade price which she was able to do. Then I asked her if they can offer me buy-one get one free smart phone promotion so I can add my son (new account) to my plan. I was offered to get the MyTouch slid for free ($100 then $100 rebate). I jokingly said if she was able to give me the Vibrant for free then i would add the line. To my surprise, she was able to do it. Basically, i paid $200 for 2 Vibrant phones.
I love TMobile.

We got the same deal on our family plan, upgrading from two T-Mobile G1s that had about 6 and 11 months left on the contract.
Last time I upgraded was 2 months after the MyTouch 3G release, so I know I still had some time to go. I upgraded over the internet, and don't ask me how the phone was $165 for me, I have another line on my account that's been out of contract for quite a few months and on that line the phone was $400 something, as it was on the other 3 lines on the account. I don't know what was going on, neither do I care, all I know is that I got my vibrant for $165

Got a great deal on my Vibrant!

Hi guys, this will be my first android phone and I am EXCITED. I'm coming from.....a sidekick LX.....haha sooo much needed upgrade.
At first, I called T-mobile and after much convincing they gave me the phone for $150, waived the $18 phone activation, and bumped my internet from $30 a month to only $20......GREAT! right?....but...
..then, my dad, who's the best person I know in getting deals and stuff, told me to call them and tell them I wanted to cancel my order because I could get an iphone 3GS for only $100 and could easily switch. So we did that, and guess what? They actually gave us an extra $100 mail-in rebate!!!
sooo my Samsung Vibrant cost after everything is settled.....$50

Yeah they do give great deals if you haven't upgraded in a while. Unfortunately, people like me abuse it and they give me good deals, but not killer ones like this.
I got my 8900 for 60 bucks, when it was 200 also. And they gave me a free Razr2 and such.
yeah i'm pretty excited, do you still have that BB or did you "abuse" the system again and get a vibrant haha
How the hell did you get $20 internet?
I have T-Mobile for 8 years and had my grandfathered Blackberry $20 data plan for 2 years until I switched to Vibrant and they told me they will need to bump my data plan to $25 Android plan. I am 18 months into the contract with 2 extra family lines on the plan (24 and 20 months into the contract).

I have $20 internet on two lines on my family plan, plus $15 unlimited texting for both lines, and I get a 15% corporate discount from my university.
You gotta say cancel as son as the automated service asks what you want. Them tell the rep you have been with them for awhile but feel like you're paying too much. They should offer to drop the bill a little.

I'll give your thing a try, also is that discount for being a student or working for the university?
Guys, there are A LOT of companies that get discounts, they just don't tell you. I used to work for Best Buy and just for that you get a discount, if you are a student, you get a discount, etc... also, he has $20 internet PLUS $15 for text, that's 35... I pay $25 for internet plus $10 unlimited text for all the lines in the family plan, so its also $35
yeah except my college recently got rid of college email accounts. And you cant have student/company discounts on flexpay and i haven't met the 6month good payment history (i have 8 months good payment history) to switch to regular payment but still apparently don't qualify for regualr payment. F**K flexpay!
Very good deal.
I got a decent deal too.
On my existing line 1 with 13 months since my last upgrade, they agreed to give me the $199 upgrade price since I ported over my girlfriend's AT&T number as a new line 2. I got a 2nd Vibrant for that line at $199. They also agreed to give line 2 the unlimited data plan for $25/mo to match my line 1, since I have the grandfathered G1 data plan with 400 text messages. I also have unlimited loyalty minutes for $90 for both lines.
So... $45 each line for unlimited voice, $25 each line for unlimited data, $199 per phone. That's a non-subsidy phone plan price with a subsidized phone price.
Been with T-Mo about 7 years.
I actually got a similar deal on mine as well.
My contract ended back in December but I'd been using an iPhone for a little longer than that. I wanted to upgrade but T-Mobile didn't have much that could compare to be worth extended my contract. After reading around about the Vibrant and the deals people were getting with them I decided to give them a call. I was connected to what I believe is their retentions department and told the rep that I was thinking about switching carriers to AT&T for the new iPhone. She immediately said that she would like me to keep my line with them and wanted to offer me a deal on the Vibrant.
She offered the Vibrant for basically $49.99 after it was said and done. My account was given a $100 credit and then the phone billed for $149.99. Waiving the upgrade fee and shipping charges also seemed to be standard practice. When I asked if that meant I had to use the $30 data plan she said she could discount the plan to $24.99 before I could say anything else. I gladly accepted.
My household has been with T-Mobile for near a decade now, although I'm usually the only one that upgrades out of our four lines. We have the same grandfathered plan from when we opened our account as well. I chalked the great deal up to being long-time customers with them.
I ordered the Vibrant thru T-Mobile.com almost 3 weeks ago. The order got messed up...BAD. They debited our account twice for $1200 ($600 x 2). After waiting for a week with no sign of the phone, the order status stuck on Pending, and no refund, I got fed up and contacted corporate. The girl who I am still working with has been very apologetic with trying to get the issue resolved. On Thursday of last week T-Mobile debited our account yet AGAIN for another $600. I called her immediately and told her what had happened. I could tell she was very frustrated because all of this is out of T-Mobiles control. From what I found out it's actually a 3rd party company that handles all of the telesales and online orders. She called me back a few hours later and explained all of that to me.
During all of this the order status was still "pending." Well what do you know, the phone showed up in the mail later that day. I called her again to tell her and after she put me on hold for a few minutes she came back and told me we could keep the phone for free because of all the troubles. We've received $1200 back over the past couple of days but there is still $600 that is in a hold state on our debit card. Hopefully it will post back soon. It's been pretty crappy not having $1800 for the few weeks. But we got a free phone and a free month of service out of this whole ordeal so I guess it was worth it.

Rebate

Anyone else have an issue with this? I was told there would be a rebate for with the phone. There wasn't. I called T-mobile and they said I can do it online. So I did. I thought that it was processed online. Nope, I checked the status later and there was no rebate. I went through the online process again. I guess you have to print out the forms at the end, then include a photocopy of the proof of purchase date, along with the original white sticker on your phone box with all that information on it. Anyone else have to go through this?
Yes, this is exactly what had to do to get the rebate. I have just been to lazy to actually put it in the mail......
i had already forgotten about the rebate- i guess i could/should send that out today
What's the website for the rebate?
Please?
http://tmobilerebate.com/splash.asp .....
There was a rebate??? Damn tmobile never told me anything about a rebate
Thought I'd list the requirements necessary to get the rebate. The rebate was for the month of September only, apparently. Maybe it's just me, I guess.
You must extend your contract term and qualify for full upgrade pricing as follows:
For one-year current contracts - 11 or more Active Months since last discounted handset purchase; OR
For two-year current contracts - 22 or more Active Months since last discounted handset purchase; AND
$29.99 or higher rate plan ($49.99 or higher/pooled family plan)
Requires voice and web feature on upgraded line.
I don't qualify for either, sadly. I don't need the voice part as I am deaf. That sucks. I got the Unlimited Everything with Voice Block for $50 a month. It's just a 50 dollars rebate I can live without because the phone is awesome.

I'd call and let them know that you're deaf. T-Mobile is pretty understanding and I doubt they'd give too much trouble.

It's more of the #1 that disqualifies me. I got the G2 while in the 10th month of the 2-year contract on Blackberry Bold 9700. I got the full discount, though. I'm not complaining.
