How to play recorded videos on computer? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hey guys, did a search and couldn't find anything, I am trying to play a video I recorded on my Hermes running WM6 on my computer, I get video, but no sound, anyone know what codec I need?

Try VLC media player
Presumably the video files are .MP4 from your Hermes??
Have a look at VLC media player - a freeware media player available for multiple platforms. Get it from HERE.
Post back if it works, then other users can benefit too
Cheers,
Mark.

The video plays fine on VLC as well as Windows Media player 11 and Media Player classic, but I get no sound.

Click to collapse
In my case, i get the video but not the sound>>>> Interesting.... I also used mms:// location to load the video file... Windows Media Player 10 for mobile is not the same as that of windows-xp one ... however, they should not miss the basic things...
any ideas boys and girls... on this issue..
Hi, in you media player options, go to the network tab, and set it to 128 or higher, and uncheck detect internet connection speed, it should play video then.
your the best its working
thanks my friend
thank you also. It works great

problem moving video to pc

I have searched all the threads and there are lots of folks that have problems or questions about moving video to their ppc, I want to do the opposite. I have taken some video and want to move it to the PC. When I do that via activesync the video will not play in medio player or quicktime. media player will play the audio not the video. Media player will not recognize the file on the ppc either.
How can I conver the video?
att 8525
try playing it with vlc player link
half way there
The vlc player will show the video, but it does not pick up the audio. I also would like to get this into a format that could be shared easily, so I would still like to convert it.
if you want to convert then i suggest you try www.videohelp.com

video playback - wmv files, I'm lost

ok guys n gals, I've got some training cbt's that I'm trying to watch on my HD. I can get the sound no problem but I can't get the video to play.
I can watch these on the PC no problem running on WMP v11.
Now so far I've tried to view them on the HTC player, WMP CDivx Player, TCPMP and Coreplayer all do the same. Sound no video.
The only difference is with the Coreplayer throws an error video codec (wmv 9 screen) not supported by the player.
I've tried using the MP4ForHD found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478050
to convert these but that software shows video: no video
So I'm now totally confused and being totally thick here , can anyone help or point me in the right direction
cheers
You can try re encoding using "Pocket DivX Encoder" or "Lathe". But it is strange that it works on your computers windows media player and not the mobile.
Which version of the Coreplayer do you have?

The installed video player

I've been searching for a great video player for the TMO TP2 but some don't do it for me. Is there a way to set the installed video player that plays the Youtube to play all video including streaming. It might not have all codes to handle every media type but maybe there is a hack or cab to solve this waste of a great player.
Yea i love that player too. the only way i can watch the movies on my media card with that player is by going into the media album and when i open a video from there it uses the youtube player. would love to watch streaming videos with it as well.
How do I get to the other video player? Everytime I open a video file it opens with wmp. Ive been searching for a free good video player to play all my files.

hd movies dont have any sound?

hi all, I tried to play a 720p avi movie on windows 8 today but there was no sound. I booted back to windows 7 and tried again and the sound works.
I would like to make it work on windows 8. does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
Thanks everyone!
The magic word here is "codecs". Haven't used Windows 8 myself but I am pretty sure you need an AC3 or DTS codec depending on the movie you are trying to watch. It also depends on which player you are trying to watch the movie with. Try using Media Player Classic - Home Cinema Edition which has all the codecs needed to watch HD material. If, however, you don't want to change players, then install ffdshow or ac3filter. These codecs will work with any Directshow player.
Codecs would be one issue. What software are you using to play the film?
it may be only a codec issue, i just tested some Avi movies i have and i found some had sound and some dont.
But like in Win7, in this Dev Preview I installed my regular player PotPlayer.
and you wouldn't have any trouble since it has codecs included.
of course other player may do the job.
but you can get Potplayer english version from here:
http://www.dvbsupport.net/download/index.php?act=category&id=16
vlc will play most of the hd movies. And yoiu might not need codecs
Thanks for everyones help. I just installed ac3 codec and sound is working perfectly in windows media player.
