HELP please: Hacking a WORKING, NEW JBlend version? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

The new versions of JBlend, a brand new (OEM) Midlet manager are pretty great; for example, they support 3D.
Currently, there's only one usable version of this midlet manager, which is pretty old (and, therefore, it doesn't, for example, support 3D) and is far from being flawless - for example, it doesn't at all allow for net access.
Very few Windows Mobile devices come with this Midlet manager; for example, the Samsung Blackjack and the Japan-only Sharp Zero 3.
A fellow Blackjack user, moneytoo, extracted the files of his Blackjack. So far, we haven't managed to make it work (I've tried overwriting the old, installed Jblend version).
Does anyone want to look into the problem? See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326354 - it has all the files you'll need.

A shameless bump

Another bump

what about related registry keys?
i think there may be some missing registry keys.
could someone extract all keys related with, and post it?
thanks

Wanted Midlet Manager

Hi guys is anyone able to getthe midlet manager within the HTC device to put on the TREO 750v. I know its made by HTC butthere is no Java Midlet Manager.
Read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=272499
Device specific
Keep in mind that, atleast for the Intent Midlet Manager, they are very much device specific. You might be able to install them on similar hardware (ie. using a Wizard Midlet Mgr on an Apache) but trying to use an HTC mgr on non HTC hardware will probably not work.
I believe the reason for this is that the Midlet Managers require alot of hardware hooks to work correctly, especially when it comes to graphics and phone controls.

J2ME PIM JSR-75 for TyTn WM5 possible?

I have been trying to use JSR-75 API for a J2ME application on my SPV M3100. It seems the PIM api is not on the phone :-( even though it is MDIP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1 compliant...
Firstly, it would be great if someone else could confirm this!!!! I have only found one other place on the net to verify it, so another few would help!
Secondly... has anyone managed to successfully use the JSR-75 PIM functionality on this device (or similar)? I have also installed the ibm J9 code, but this too did not give me access to the phone's contacts list, as I wanted
PHUH!
I am sure there is an easy answer to some of this and I m just missing a part of the puzzle
Many Thanks
Sanjay
If the Intent software doesn't support that JSR, then there's nothing you can do about it. The latest WM6 ROMs have a slightly newer version of MIDlet Manager, maybe it supports JSR-75. You could also try the version of Java that comes with NetFront.

GPS with JBED or highres with IBM J9 and MGMAPS possible?

Right now I am using IBM's J9 Midlet Manager and it works out well with the maps application, but it's slower than JBED and for some reason it doesn't show the maps in high resolution even with the high resolution J9 version installed. JBED's only problem is that you can't connect to the serial ports of your phone and thus MGMAPS keeps reporting that there is no GPS unit available. I've had the same problem with the Intent Midlet Manager and thus would like to know if there is
a) a way to make it work with JBED or Intent.
b) a way to make IBM's J9 display high resolution.
Please no "use Mobile GMaps" answers as I have my reasons for using the midlet (offline maps, favorites, extra services). Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as I really hope this can be fixed either way.

Nope, they don't support serial ports.

This is easy and has already been explained in my MIDlet Bible (see row "Opera Mini 4 beta 2 fonts - VGA?" of the chart at http://www.winmobiletech.com/092007MidletBible/CompatibilityAndMain.html ):
Forcing J9MIDP20.EXE (or, for that matter, ANY .EXE's) doesn't help, as opposed to earlier, 5.7-series J9 versions. The only way to get high-res support is switching to Real VGA mode and using the QVGA version of J9 (NOT the VGA version - the latter won't execute your deployed MIDlets at all!). An example screenshot of this is HERE (using Large characters). Note that, as the QVGA and VGA versions can co-exist on the same machine and will use the same deployed MIDlets, this seems to be a usable solution to get hi-res support when you really need it (and, at the same time, can live without hardware softkey support - you'll need to use the on-screen menus to issue commands, unlike with the VGA version. At least this was the case on my VGA Universal.).
Thank you! Problem solved. It's really a shame that HTC didn't get around to put a decent midlet manager onto their devices. I could play with a N95 a bit recently and like your comparison chart shows it's a whole different world. I am not a heavy user, but MGMAPS sure has taught me a lesson that midlets can even be better than native Windows apps... with the right manager / device.

Request: htc audio manager vga

I have a vga device. axim x51v.
I downloaded the htc audio manager from the extracted OEM apps. it did not work on my axim. it gave an error message about missing components or certificates.
after much searching I found a cab that worked on my axim (this cab possibly had certain components or ran on all devices, not just HTC ones). But when I installed this audio manager it only took up 1/4 of the screen, like a qvga program. so I tried to use "forcehires" to make it fill up the screen. however "forcehires" gave a message saying that audio manager is already high resolution aware.
I am not using any vga hacks, btw. I am however running wm6, which is not the problem as the situation was the exact same in wm5.
Sooo, can someone with a vga device upload their audio manager. the specific files are as follows:
/windows/audiomanager.exe
/windows/audiomanager.exe.0409.mui
I would be so grateful somebody could upload them.
(bit of a long post, but I wanted to nail it down)
come on guys. it can't be that hard to upload a file or two.
I really like the simplicity of audio manager.
Hi legoman,
Also I've a axim x51v running WM6, but I have not had success to get work any HTC app. Where do you find this audio manager cab? Have you had success to get work HTC Home pluging? Thanks in adv.

aneto
try this cab file. it runs but, only shows up on 1/4 of the screen.
hate to do this guys but;
BUMP.
can anyone post the above two files from their device. its a desperate plea.

Problems running Esmertec on Samsung OmniaPro B7610

Dear community,
thank you so much for this huge forum and your many efforts to help new smartphone users like me in getting used to Windows Mobile.
Please let me first give some info about my device:
-Samsung OmniaPro B7610
-Windows Mobile 6.1
-afaik, there is no branding on the phone
Since I do not have an internet flatrate in my mobile contract, I was looking for a complete-no-cost navigation software for my phone. Thus I found We-Travel.
When I wanted to install We-Travel, my Java KVM (Aplix Jblend 20090908a) told me that there is a problem with the authentification of the certificate (Note: It did not say that the certificate is expired!).
So, after several forum threats, I came to the conclusion that my KVM was causing the trouble. I replaced it by a late Esmertec version - the installation of We-Travel worked without any problems. However, I could not use the software, since my display does not show me information about what is currently running when I start We-Travel. The installation of We-Travel itself was strange, as well. The phone asked me several times to choose "Yes" or "No", but the display did not show for what to choose.
Now that I have installed Esmertec, the KVM does not tell me any info about the current installed KVM-version. I tried Jbed 20090506.2.1 ,20090416.5.1 and 20090217.5.1.
For better understanding, I made two screenshots.
This is the home-screen when I open Esmertec:
(I am not allowed to post outside links...)
Here you can see the "About-screen" where normally version-infos are displayed:
(I am not allowed to post outside links...)
As you can see, there is no input there, no matter which of the 3 versions I install on the phone.
Esmertec is also not shown at "installed programms", and I cannot reinstall Aplic Jblend since I do not have the .cab on my phone and cannot find a late version to download.
I tried several soft-resets before and after the isntallation of Esmertec - did not solve anything.
Do you have any idea what to do?
There are not many alternatives to Esmertec - I would love to use this KVM...
Thank you so much for reading until here - maybe someone has an idea?
Warm regards
PGS17
