I am not sure, but Schab's configuration tools (package) contains tool to rotate screen seqentialy in all 4 directions. i have it on my X7500.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317070
Edit: Yest there is such a tool in the package.

There's an icon in HTC HomePlug on the X7501 to do this... Is this lacking in the WM5 ROM on the X7500?

not to fear boinger66 I is here.... so i could not fine the program but i did find this:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\ROTATION]
Change the Value of "Angle" to the
dword:00000000 or dword:00000360 -> Portrait Mode
dword:00000090 -> Landscape(Right-Handed)
dword:00000180 -> Portrait Up-side Down
dword:00000270 -> Landscape (Left-Handed)

Hi Boringer66,
Another program that does this is pBar. This neat little utility is also a task manager, comm manager, launcher, and battery meter. It's free too. Google xda pBar,and you are it right away.
Regards.
Edit: sorry,this may not suit you. It rotate three ways only. Not four.

hmm darn ok thanks ...
im using schabs right now
i kinda just wanted a quick reg hack like the rotate on the tray app would be awesome

REQ: Program that rotates display 90 degrees counter-clockwise when ran

Hello,
I'm having a lot of trouble finding a program that will allow me to rotate the screen on my WM6 Standard device.
I know that the settings are all in the registry, but I do not have a development environment on hand.
I'd like to request the following program:
1) Main function is to rotate the screen.
2) No main interface needed each rotation can be set by a command line (rotate.exe /[0,90,180,270])
3) Running rotate.exe would take the current orientation and adjust it +90 degrees counter clockwise.
I think the program would be invaluable and pretty easy to write.
Any help or suggestion is appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

Starbase64
Ups sorry no idea. Each time you execute it it will rotate the screen 90° ccw and then it exits, so it doesn't eat up any memory. I found somewhere on the forum here or over at MoDaCo.
Cant the HTC Home rotate function be reconfigured to rotate ccw? There should be a reg hack somwhere.
Schap's RotateScreen

I had tried that Modaco program. I couldn't figure out where it put the exe

try mort buttons. you can define in what programs you need to rotate the screen

Here's Schap's great little tool in cab format. I've configured it such that it places a shortcut in \Programs\Accessories\ folder. Please install to your memory's device.

I would also like to control the direction. It seems my link in HTC Home rotates the wrong way and so does this program...

Try Battery Status(last version), its task manager allows you to rotate the screen to left, so you can use the ppc with left hand...
I had the same problem, solved with battery status..
You can also set a morfscript shortcut, so that it asks you if you want rotate your screen before starting an app...
For example I set it to run before TomTom starts, so I can decide if the screen has to rotate or not (to the left )...
Ask me for more informations..
Yeah I ended up writing my own rotate script.
Then I set up another to ask when i open TCPMP.
It's MortsScript.
All I need is a program that will switch between portrait and landscape modes by single click only I need the landscape mode to be reversed. I know there's a good number of people out there that are looking for this solution for their Moguls and any other devices that the keyboard slides out to the right, so its kind of retarded for the screen to rotate the opposite way.
Install MortScript and use the attached script. Or create the file yourself...
Code:
If (Screen( "landscape" ))
Rotate(0)
Else
Rotate(90)
EndIf

TomTom7 Screen rotation

I know GSen will rotate TT7, but not all ROMs are compatible.
Strikes me as odd that TT7 will note natively rotate to landscape in the same way Opera or HTC Album does. Especially given that when in landscape mode the TT7 screen is arguably better layed out than in portrait. Seems no accident and TomTom surely have designed it to lay out nicely in Landscape. Further I read that this build is designed for use on the Diamond which the programmers must know has a GSensor.
To this end what are the chances of this capability actually being in TT7 now but not activated. Slim chance I suppose.
I tried playing with
HKLM\Software\HTC\SmartTouch\Tom Tom Navigator
adding keys such as
"rotate"=dword:00000001
"EnableRotateScreen"=dword:00000001
"EnableLandscape"=dword:00000001
and various others I dreamed up.
No Joy.
Are there any Alternatives to GSen to get the TT7 screen to go landscape?
Is this an oversight by TomTom or intentional?
Try this:
Change your registry to enable screen rotation:
HKLM - System - GDI - Rotation - HideOrientationUI (Change from 1 to 0)
Then, map your button to the rotation tweak:
Settings -> Buttons -> Map with <Rotate Screen>
When you would like to rotate your screen, just hold your Phone button.
I use this for Voda's SatNav, works very well.
Mate you are a bloody legend. Works a treat. Thank you so much for that. Will definitely be filing that little tip away as a keeper for future reference.
Big 10x!
What a simple solution to a very painful issue
tt7 landscape
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=288167&page=2
It works perfectly with tt7 on diamond. Just tuch one icon.
Where exactly (which folder?) you stored the script? Was there a need to make changes, as there is no "storage card" in the Diamond?

Simply great. Add it to the tweaks thread!
The registry method works great for me as well. Yet if you look on the attached thread (suggested by Corona):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=288167&page=2
There might be a better solution via this script. I was wondering if it works for TT7. I failed to check as I need some installation guide (i do not know what exactly to do with the mortscript to make it work).

You can use Gyrator or GSen to do that
Yes, this is not automatic it just re-enable the standard screen panel to manually select orientation.

please advise, how, would love to be able to work on documents etc in landscape (auto switch) mode if possible.
Peter.
As apd said for the automatic rotation you can use Gyrator or GSen. Otherwise with this you can start your app and then manually rotate the screen from the control panel.
just tried this and it says "access denied" when i edit the value data and change the 1 to 0
am i missing something?
Steve
used resco regedit ... works!
wow. This is really nice. Thanks! now I don't need the gyrator!
I can find nothing new after manipulating the registry.
Where can i exactly find the option in control panel?
In the Screen menu. If you still can't see the option, try a soft reset.
excellent find. thnx for sharing!
any program to change that or a cab file ??
thanks
Ill try this on the diamond to see if it works.
I wish I could try it with the demo phone @ the store (touch HD) before buying it.
I tried the registry edit on the demo Touch HD at the store.
The problem is that it keeps reverting back to portrait mode after accessing the phone menu.
So it will remain perfectly in landscape mode till I try to enter a phone number.
The phone menu is vertical, then it remains vertical.
Any info?
thanks.

Navigon Mobile Navigator 7 on HD2 in Landscape mode

Hi,
I recently purchased MN7 v7.3.10 from 1800pocketpc.com. It will not run in landscape mode. If I do the bsb tweak for screen rotation it will rotate the program but it cuts the bottom half of the screen off and leaves a big black area to the right of the program screen. Is there any way to fix this to run in landscape mode? A reg edit or change the ini file or something? I looked at the forums but didn't see the answer to my questions. I looked at the thread about the HD1 and navigon but didn't see a definative fix...... any help would be GREATLY appreciated. This is beyond frustrating me. I'm going on a long road trip over easter and would LOVE to have this fixed.
Thanks
bump for some help? I guess no one has this running in landscape on an HD2??
have you tried the HD fix?

Thats what I have in my file and it doesnt work. What I also did was to use B2B to add the start menu to rotated progs then make sure I was in landscape before starting Navigon, then it displays in landscape.
you need to be in landscape BEFORE you start Navigon!
I ran the latest PDA trial for a month and it was quite nice - as I did not want to enable manila rotation I set the win startmenu to rotate (bsb)
went to start -> rotaded to landscape -> started Navigon -> perfect (until someone calls)
start Navigon MN7 - just go to "options - settings - general" last page. turn screen left / right, portrait etc.

Yes, thats what I had in mind as well. And I used it this way with my "old" Samsung Omnia 2 (i8000) with MN7 v7.3.4 (not absolutely sure about the version). Unfortunately this option seems not to be there in my current version of MN7 (7.3.9) that came with my T-Mobile germany rom.
I guess thats either because Navigon removed that option in 7.3.9 (but why should they?) or because it is just not supported on the HD2 (like the navigating to adresses from the adress-book).
Ciao,
Zusan
