Bell PPC6800 by HTC bluetooth problem - Mogul, XV6800 General

I'm having the same problem as most of you with this phone. I notice that only after upgrading the rom (for Telus HTC P4000 and Sprint Mogul) that you get this problem. Can some check what are the registry setting for the bluetooth on the old rom to see if we can set it in the new rom.
P.S. here is some info on the Bell PPC6800

Possibly a WM6 issue... we're unsure at the moment what the issue entails, but I think its more than a registry tweak. I think the WM6 drivers for BT have a problem...

im having problems w/6800 staying connected with bluetooth for more than 30 sec is there a fix for this.very hard to get paired and will not give me a com port for the device i connect to

Wizard/WM5.0 - Sync wireless network time??

One of the things that has always bothered and baffled me with the 8125 and I guess HTC Wizard series is that there is no built-in way to sync with the wireless network time.
This is a pain when you travel because even 4 year old cell phones like the T68i supported auto date/time updates but a 2006 brand new PocketPC device can't!?!?
Is there any app that does this or any reason why it's not supported? Just seems such an odd ommission.

there is a reghack that works apparently only on the latest ROM (2.x):
NETWORK TIME UPDATE
HLKM->SOFTWARE->OEM->PhoneSetting
Set "ShowTimeZonePage" to "1"
did not tested personally, but you can give it a try if you have the latest rom
to find out more :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...network+update+hlkm+software+oem+phonesetting
UPDATE: after setting the registry value u must soft reset and then go to Settings -> Phone . There's a new tab there Time zones
It DOES work if you have the AKU2 ROM (Imate or Qtek) loaded; I have done this on my phone and have verified it switches when you change time zones, or if you farkle your phone's time and then power-cycle off and on.
Just confirmed that this does NOT work on the Cingular 8125 stock rom. I will wait until Cingular releases their own AKU2 rom and then upgrade.
I can confirm that the TAB shows up on the QTEK ROM on the 8125, howver when the time changed here last week (daylight savings) It did not change my clock. It always did on my nokias. I dotn know if this is because the network or the phone, but It dotn work on Cingular here in chicago.
Later; Lew
sorry to bring up an older topic, but hey...this DOES NOT work with the leaked Qtek ROM. i wish there was an option to enable it in that rom. or just wait for a ROM that has A2DP in it.

HTC Hermes (TYTN) on Rogers?

Hi all, first post here. Great board BTW.
I took the plunge and picked up a used TYTN about a week ago. Nothing but headaches since Primarily, it has focussed around the "No GSM" error. I've read through the wiki. I downgraded to the 1.04 Bootloader, and applied the fix. Unfortunately, it appears to be temporary; the No GSM seems to come back. I have only been able to place 2 phone calls sucessfully in the last four days, and no text messages. Anyhow, before I run through all the problems and what I have done, perhaps someone who has an HTC TYTN working smoothly on the Rogers Network in Canada could post or PM me with their firmware versions (ROM, ExtROM, Radio, Bootloader, etc). If the same is available for d/l I will flash mine to the same and see if that does the trick...
Thanks for your assistance!

At this moment what radio are you using?

I puchased an almost new HTC TyTN from Mad Monkey Boy about six months ago. It was running the factory stock ROM at the time. I SuperCID'd the device, then installed the South African 1.35 ROM (the complete ROM, yeah I know, it ups the bootloader version, no prob for me as I'd rather have a stable device than "hack" it). I just recently installed the AKU 3.3 WWE test ROM. The only thing I have had to do to make it work with Rogers is to create the GPRS connection (User: wapuser1, Password: wap, APN: internet.com, or vpn.com if you pay the extra $10 a month for a public IP address).
The initial ROM was very slow and very buggy. The 1.35 ROM speeded the device up a bit and much more stable, but still problems with BT A2DP and WMP losing its metadata. The new AKU 3.3 test ROM has been working very well for me, still problems with BT A2DP but no other issues to speak of yet and even faster than its predecessors.

Hi John & Phamoui,
thanks for the quick replies. Pham - I've dropped it off back at the shop where I got it so i'm not 100% sure now. I think the "No GSM" fix put it back to a 1.16 series. They uppped it with the "latest" shipped ROM. I think this was probably the one at the top of the list of available ones here. 1.35 or 1.35 series radio. Sorry for the Lack of detail in this post - I don't have the unit here at the moment.
John - thanks for the info. that should give me a stable starting point.

I've never had any problems with my TyTN on Rogers.
Currently I'm on the SA 1.35 ROM and 1.27 Radio.
I'm still reading up on the new AKU 3.3 before I decide to install it. I've still got to decide on which one to install or wait for the non-TEST HTC version.
Hi, I live in Austin but I have a Rogers SIM card for my Vancouver # (I had a job there temporarily in September/October).
Can you give me the settings for Rogers GPRS and MMS for TyTN (I have the 8525 but I am running the HTC 2.05 ROM).
Thanks!!!
James

James,
The GPRS/UMTS settings are as follows:
Access point name: internet.com OR vpn.com (depending on your level of data service)
User name: wapuser1
Password: wap
Domain: <leave blank>
I don't know what the MMS settings are as I don't use MMS.

Hi again,
After significant efforts by the fellows at SN Traders (good shop by the way), I have exchanged and gone with a new Cingular 8525 (Hermes 100). I have installed the WM6 XDA Live 0.20 ROM available here and it is running great so far.
So my latest Rogers/Tytn question: Has anyone been able to get the software for the Rogers pushmail? I spoke with a tech, who provided me with a couple links. I tried them, but no link to d/l the software. He advised that he thinks it is because my device is not locked to Rogers and running their software. He states that they do not have access to the CAB files directly as they come from some third party (I've forgotted but something like Verio...) Anyhow, anyone have success in obtaining/installing the software and getting Rogers push email working?
Thanks,
MM

Post your Bugs/Issues for ROM upgrade 1.35

Thought I'd start a thread where people can post there issues/bugs on ROM upgrade 1.35 and it will also help people to make an informed decision before upgrading to this ROM.
I have now used this ROM on my SPV M3100 for over several weeks and the only issue I have is when using my 3 network USIM the voicemail speed dial 1 does not work even after going through the settings or registry the bizzare thing is I don't get this issue with other network SIM i.e. O2, Orange or T-Mobile.
P.S. before someone says I may have a faulty 3 USIM, I did not have this issue prior to this upgrade.
Is the 1.35 Rom different from?:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294927&highlight=issues
The HTC ROM 1.35 is different from the cingular ROM 2.06, it's supposedly the most stable of the ROM upgrades or so they say!
I haven't any issue, Radio & ROM 1.35 ... i've read someone has problems with messaging service...
Using a Task Manager ONE TIME only i've seen the Messaging Service stopped, just a reboot.
now works well, bt, wifi & radio
and what happend, when you try to change the very first contact on sim? I had similar problem, but on old nokia phone, not windows nor symbian.

Would the HTC 1.35 ROm work on the Cingular 8525?
loud busy tone even if Phone is on loudness=0
i have some problems with this Radio 1.35.00.11. The thread is about that, isn´t it?
First of all my phone beeps loud out of the speaker at the back(the loud one for "free speaking") if the Person iam calling is not available (busy signal). Even if the Phone is turned to loudness 0! Iam not sure that the Radio Rom is responsible for that, because i reseted my vario2 completely. But iam sure that problem i never had before(with the german origninal Radio ROm).
*edit* iam currently reading that this is not a problem from the Radio Rom... The extRom may be responsible. Sorry!
But please help me the following Topic:short: is it possible to flash to an older RadioRom?
*/edit*
Because of that i wanted to flash the 1.27. Radio ROM to the Vario2. I took this one: ftp://xda:[email protected]_TMD-TMA_Radiopatch_1.27.00.00_107_GER.exe
The flashing procedure got complete without any error, but on the Vario iss still the 1.35.00.11! Isn´t it possible to flash to a older Rom Version?
Thanks for help!?

8525 Black 2.5 w/TomTom Go 910

After finally being able to get my Internet working through PDA connect I decided it was time to test out my Tomtom Go 910 with the new Black. When I was running the original cingular rom that came with the phone I was able to connect to TomTom Traffic and weather services only. Now after the upgrade it recognizes my phone but says that wireless data is not available? Is this due to the proxy issue with cingular or is it just that TomTom does not support WM6 at all yet? Or something else? I'm trying to decide if it would be better to revert back to a WM5 system because I really do like Black 2.5. Hopefully it may be a quick fix.
TomTom910 issue
hi buddy,
I'm in the same boat with my Vario II.
Went to WM6 (LVSW) on the phone and all of a sudden TomTom tells me the DUN connection is invalid (Data over Bluetooth I believe).
*VERY ANNOYING* ....
Same Problem Here with tomtom one V4, tried 7 different WM5 & WM6 Roms and 4 different radio roms, still same problem.
Trying to find the original roms to reflash, rather go back to WM5 than waste the 40 euros i paid for the plus services.
Original ROM
I've got a post out there asking where to find them, will pm you if anyone gets back to me mate.
Yet another device that doesn't support the silly PAN profile. Stupid MS developers thought they were doing us a favor by removing DUN.
At least they came to their senses and said they'll work on getting dun implemented again soon...
Anyone else have any luck with this?
sadly no luck, my spv took an unfortunate trip down 2 flights of stairs and replaced by insurance.
tomtom works on my new one ok, aslong as i dont flash it.
Nope
...not yet, still waiting for M$ to add DUN support back in from what I understand.
May be rolling back to WM5

Tethering (PPC to PPC)?

Is it possible to tether my 3G connection from my 8525 to my Universal? This would help me because I live in the US where the 3G doesnt work for the Universal.
Anyone is it possible?
Should be possible with bluetooth. I've done it with my Hermes and a PocketLoox720
The exact process involved depends upon if you are running the original early version of WM5, or a later AKU WM5 or WM6 Rom
