Problem with GPS bluetooth unit, do I have to pair with it each time? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I never used bluetooth GPS device so what I found so far with IOgear GPS receiver is strange.
Whenever I switch on my Wizard and GPS device within a range, I'm prompted to establish pair with it (even though I already done it before), then I have to manually setup outgoing COM port in Bluetooth manager and only after that mapping software can see GPS device.
I have to do each time I switch off and on GPS bluetooth receiver, is it expected or something is broken with my Wizard OS or GPS receiver?
I use WM6.

Have to re-pair each time I want to use Bluetooth GPS - why?

got my qstarz bluetooth gps device today. once it's paired up and the bluetooth light on the gps box flashes every second it works fine with tomtom.
the problem comes when i switch off bluetooth on the phone and switch off the bluetooth gps box. when i come to switch it all back on again the phone can't communicate with the gps box unless I go through the re-pairing process.
anyone else had this problem or know how to sort it?

Simultaneous Bluetooth Connection Use

Hi,
I was wondering, is it possible to use bluetooth car kit on a Wizard at the same time it is using its bluetooth connection to talk to a bluetooth GPS dongle (Holux 236)?
TIA
i use a parrot car bt car kit and the same holux gps receiver sometimes at the same time and have no problems.
I also use a Holux 236 and talk with my earpiece at the same time. I haven't had any problems yet.
Nice one, thanks for that.
This should be perfectly possible.
The Bluetooth standard v1.2 allows a device to connect to multiple devices via bluetooth at the same time.
Not sure on the exact specs, but can imagine the device time splitting data from multiple devices with certain connection types having different priorities?!?!
So, having a BT Headset and GPS at same time - headset device should be ok, but GPS data may be slower to update....
Thanks again.

Bluetooth Anomaly

Here's one for the books..
I have an external bluetooth GPS module for my Wizard. I use TomTom.
The GPS and TomTom will work with each other even if I have Bluetooth turned off in the communications manager.
I suppose TomTom overrides the 'off'ness.. however, the GPS device is the only thing that works. Handsfree does not.
Comments?
This is interesting. I guess OFF is not what it used to be.
Did you check if TomTom switches BT on while running and off after shutdown?
Bluetooth still off!
Indeed, bluetooth still shows 'off', and while tomtom is running I still can't make bluetooth calls. For anything except TomTom, bluetooth remains off even while it's on!

WM6 Bluetooth multiple connections problem

I have upgraded my BA to WM6 and have found that when using the BT GPS that the GPS will disconnect when I turn on the BT handsfree headset.
Can anyone provided me with some assistance to allow multple BT sessions to be connected.

Thanks baniaczek I will give that a try
baniaczek I have made the changes but it will still not allow gps and headset to connect at the same time.
My problem was this on a Hermes running WM6:
When using TomTom Navigator 6 with an iBlue BT GPS receiver, if I take/make a call with my SonyEricsson HBH-IV835 BT headset, the headset becomes disconnected after approx 30 seconds. In order to be able to use the headset again, it must be turned off/on.
I fixed it by NOT selecting to use "serial port" after the iBlue was paired. I set the program port to com6 and the hardware port to com0. Works both with TomTom and Google maps.
Yeah I had this too.
try this it worked for me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=328982
good luck

Multiple Bluetooth GPS devices

I have a bluetooth GPS device in each of my two cars.
It seems it is not possible to pair both devices and use my navigation software with the device in the car I am driving.
The phone seems to select only the last paired device.
Does anyone have an idea about a solution?
