umm....can u please post the cab file here?tia

http://us.get.go.yahoo.com/p/download/
That worked for me. There is a "GET IT NOW" link at the bottom of the page that takes you to download it. Worked like a champ on my AT&T 8525 running WM6.

you need to type this address directly into your phone to get the cab file. It's the beta version of go 2.0

hmm..it says that yahoo go is not currently available for my device

It says that for a lot of devices, but just go for the link they give you for your phone. turns out it does work after all.

Thanks. I've been waiting for this to come out, but it runs really slow on my 8525, and it bogs down when switching to landscape mode.
Perhaps it works better on wm6 (I'm waiting for the offical AT&T update before I upgrade), or the post-beta release, but I'll keep messing with it to see if I can do anything.

I got the Text message sent to my phone and when I clicked the link it said "Yahoo! Go 2.0 is not currently available for your SONY ERICSSON V600i" even though have a 8525 haha..weird...maybe my Black satin ROM is telling it is that idk....

i swear it better have a messenger
edit:no messenger.... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
edit: wow, kewl!!! my saved locations from yahoo maps show up in go. google should steal that from yahoo. great idea.

Im currently using it, it's pretty cool.. I like the Yahoo Maps..

its pretty damn fast too. wow. im impressed. i always thought yahoo was so incompetent.
edit: IT HAS PUSH!

I can see that it syncronizes the address book. What about calendar?
Also, for mail, you must use yahoo app, no downloads into the wm mail. Is there another way to set this up, I wonder...

Download for HTC Hermes
Just downloaded so pasting the link for the cab file. Enjoy
Yahoo! Go 2.o Beta for HTC Hermes

Any issues with uninstalling? I wanna take it for a spin but not if it leaves traces of itself after uninstalling or bogging the system down after as well.
How does the push email work???
Thanks!
Jim

I tried using it. Won't run, gets a "native exception" error everytime.

Hell of an improvement! Good Job Yahoo. This app is going to definitely give google a run for its money.

If I am not mistaken, SPB makes the WM client for Yahoo, which would explain why it isn't as crappy as most other Yahoo products.

i've just attached .CAB file to post#1
hi guys
I've just attached .CAB file to post#1, guess I should have attached earlier.

hey does this force u to use a certain type of connection? or can u use gprs/wifi & usb passthrough?

try imov from www.movsoftware.com
the only proviso is that you need a Jabber account somewhere.
this is a list of jabber servers:

I think mail2web runs one as well

cheers.. will look into it..
if only yahoo had their own app like they do for series 60
they used to.
you can still download it:
http://download.yahoo.com/dl/ce/ymsgr-ppc.exe
might still work
also forgot, agile messenger works quite well:

thanks will try those tonight..
Agile Messenger works very well, BUT after entering your account details, it tries to log in.. and tries, and tries, forever.
The solution is to press Next, then go to Options - Preferences, the last tab, and disable "Secure connection" or so.
After this, it worked flawlessly.

Cool... has anyone tried this yet? Is it WM5 compat? I would just download and test, but have just got my Uni the way I like it, don't wanna hard reset again!!

its a very old version of YM written for PPC2002. For some reason Yahoo stopped the project to support PPC. A big mistake as ICQ, MS and AOL do support it.
i heard that tmobile dont allow IM apps on their handsets as their current data deals for net browsing and email are not meant to be used for MOIP bummer

Who wants the real MSN Messenger for WM5/TyTN

After flicking around on google, i have found a personally tested method of getting msn messenger working in WM5.
It fully supports the rotation that occurs when you open the keyboard on the TyTN.
http://node13.org/pda/
Go here (my own site), and do the following:
1. Connect your WM5 device to your pc.
2. Run msn22.exe (Will installed the PPC2002 version of MSN Messenger)
3. Run msn23.exe (Will instal the PPC2003SE version with the latest updates)
4. Reset your device
Voila, you now have a nice working copy of MSN Messenger.
Enjoy!
Just out of curiosity:
What's the difference between "MSN Messenger on Pocket PC" and "Pocket Messenger"?
Thanks for that!

For some reasons, every time I tried to run your msn23 from my computer (connected to the device of course), it showed the InstallShield 1645: and it stopped there. I have also tried msn22 and the result is the same. BTW, I have done the unlock CID already if it would matter at all.
Any suggestions?

Yes, I don't know why Microsoft have it so obscurely referenced, not easy to track it down. By the way also works well for me too.

Well now that's a tricky question... welllll ok yes we are, at least I am. The one that's like the old MSN for mobile but not quite if you know what I mean!! And the one that shows as Live.com on this link http://ideas.live.com/, In case there's confusion "MSN Messenger is now Windows Live Messenger" hence the use of the name Live.com.
Mike
you try this agilemessenger
in my tytn it works very well:
- he automatically rotates with the opening of the keyboard
- it notices all the emoticons
- it works with msn, icq, yaooh etc. accounts
- allows to make a photo with my TYTN and to send it
- and it also has the push to talk!!!
It's phenomenalanything

him, agile messenger is fabulous! to try for believing!
Is Agile Messenger really free? On their web site they only have 7 day trial versions after which you pay and through the nose...

Free on WM5 "for the moment"
As it is slightly buggey or at least was, seems much more stable these days.
Yes is Free!!!

I only browse these forums once in a while, but an update to this that might work out for you guys.
My wife recently got a (Cingular, oops I mean AT&T) Samsung Blackjack and it came with a link to install an instant messaging software package from OZ. I 'tested' the cab file out on my 8125 and it works in portrait mode, but you lose the text entry screen in landscape. It also does not accept touch screen input, as it was designed for a smartphone. The one caviat is that you have to keep and maintain a strong signal to use it effectively.
So if you know someone who has a blackjack, or maybe even another smartphone from cingular...err AT&T you might be able to access the cab from their phone and test it out on yours.

OZ Instant Messenger Cab?

Where can i find the cab or exe file for the Sprint Vogue OZ Instant Messenger?
Update:

within this thread:

Oz Instant Messenger CAB
Thanks one and all for the assistance. As is often the case, I had the CAB on my Touch but did not/was unable to recognize it by it's given name. The thread that was suggested allowed me to track back and locate it.
To all: Have a joyous holiday season

i just installed this and when i try and run it,i keep getting a messege saying (the MD5 digests do not match (code 403) does anyone know what this means?)
Use Palringo... it's a million times better.

Yes, it is free.
http://www.palringo.com/en/gb/
Download (it was hard for me to find at first, so it might be easier for the direct link): http://www.palringo.com/en/gb/download?get=winmobcab
"Palringo enables you to talk to all your contacts, whether they're using AOL® Instant Messenger®, Google Talk™, Yahoo!® Messenger®, Gadu-Gadu, ICQ®, Jabber® or Windows Live. You can also use Palringo to contact friends using iChat®, Apple's IM application."
Not for Vogue.
The posted Oz Messenger is for At&t and does not work with Sprint. My phone had a link for a Sprint version out of the box but not on cooked roms. Anyone have the sprint version or the link for it? It would suck having to flash back to stock rom just to get a single link.
And while Palringo was fancy it also drained my battery dry way too quickly which oz did not

Here's one for Sprint. It includes AOL, Yahoo! and MSN Instant Messengers. I'm still looking for the one that has Google Talk. If anyone has it, please post a link.
I've always had problems with bad delays with the Oz messenger. I tried Slick I think but it drained my battery horribly
Does anyone know how to contact the developers of Oz ? I have a particularly odd situation where I must have left my screen name logged in under a phone with this application and performed an ESN swap with a phone that does not have this app.
I'm getting encrypted data which is definitely looking for this application to interpret and Sprint is counting every one of these texts as an international and charging accordingly.
I have since logged in on the same phone (new line) and signed out/exited, but I'm not fully convinced this has solved the problem.
oz messenger for sprint q9c phone
if you are still needing the cab for this instant messenger, here it is. I was looking for it too.
OZ is limited to network - USE SLICK Messenger.
Best and simple YAHOO, GTALK IM works through your dataplan. Its a freeware.

Does it include Yahoo! Messenger? Also, does it take all your Yahoo! friends and add them to your phone's contacts? What does it include?
As you can tell, I tried 2.0 a while ago -- and it took me 3 days after uninstallation to get my phone back to the original state. LOL....
Just to let you know Version 3 is still in BETA.
Ok... Just spent an hour toying with it and uninstalled after it crashed multiple times while pulling up emails, and then later, traffic. Too bad, cuz it looks like Yahoo! is making gains on a service that Microsoft has dominated for a while now (Live and Live Search). To answer my earlier questions for anyone who's interested, no, it doesn't pull in all your friends into your phone's contacts... and it has everything it shows on the Yahoo! Go website -- which of course does NOT include messenger or GPS-aided maps/turn-by-turn directions.
I do see some nice improvements from v2.0 in the user interface -- real nice animated carousel for selecting which widget you want to use. If you have multiple Yahoo! accounts, though, you will have to uninstall and reinstall anytime you want to change IDs. That sucked. Also, as I stated before, the maps and directions function cannot utilize GPS. Email doesn't show HTML/pictures. And again, there is NO messenger built in (HUGE bummer -- I'll keep using free Slick Messenger).
So, for those who must use Yahoo! for whatever reason, this will be a nice step in the right direction. Otherwise, folks like myself will most likely continue using Microsoft Live and Live Search (gotta luv that speech recognition!)

Contact sync removed
It appears that Yahoo! Go 3 beta no longer includes a contact sync feature. That was one feature that came in handy with v2. Bummer.
I also found that you cannot log into for your existing flickr account. they make you create a new one.
