Battery Status? - Mogul, XV6800 General

Has anyone gotten Battery Status beta or .04 running on the mogul? I am having EXTREME difficulty. It says in settings that it is on the today screen and yet its not. Any help would be super!!

I'm using the beta with no issues...
I've found that you need to go into your today settings and turn it off and then back on maybe?
Make sure that you are using the beta...I have found that it works well with our moguls and WM6 specifically.

werd>?
the ext beta? mine freezes and and i have to soft reset like 3 times and then just let it sit with no battery in. and thats another thing, why is the f***ing battery so huge? my wizard batt is like 1/2 the size. crazy htc.
thanks for the response.

I know, I used to have a wizard too. the battery is huge on the mogul.
I am specifically using the 1.0.4.023 beta4 build 0219. I think that's the extbeta, but not sure offhand.
The reason your setup is freezing is probably because you turned on too many indicators. I haven't quite put my finger on which one causes it, but I suspect it's the wifi rows indicator. I currently only have the cpu utilization and the power drain indicators on, but it did used to freeze if I turned on all of them. Try those two and you should be just fine.
Also, when I used this on the wizard, the new versions of the beta caused a huge memory leak with wm6, but this version has been working really well for me the past month that I have had it on. Since removing the sddaemon and htc_guardian startup links as suggested in one of the other threads on here, I don't notice the memory leak I was having anymore.
We just need a new rom

i turned everything off but cpu and power drain still froze the crap out of itself. so let it sit for ten minutes and try again. uninstalled battery status. and voila soft reset no freeze. but i will try it again with sddaemon and htc_guardian removed.

I-Mate turns ON by itself

Well,
Aside of the comatose battery life that this device has, to which one gets used after a while, now I had something new happening! While whatching the device on a table during a meeting, I was suprised to see it turn on by itself! NO, No alarms, or incomming calls, task reminders or the like. It just went on, and back off after the time set on the battery settings! I checked the settings, soft reset the device, and nothing. It seems to turn on and off every 3 to 5 minutes! This will cause battery life to drain even faster! Does anyone have a clue????
Cheers
Mceitlin
Probably it is a issue with ActiveSync on your pocket pc.
Try to have a look into ActiveSynch menu:START-Activesync-options and change Mobile schedule,etc..
Regards,
Ser
Thanks, but I already tried this. I even disabled all synching and nothing seems to solve this issue! It is anoying as it drains battery even faster ! Any other suggestion ?
join the club mate if you look around youll see a fairly big thread about it and btw its nothing to do with activesync its the phone itself lol

Do you have Spb Pocket Plus installed? If so, check the version. I had version 2.0 build 1178 installed and I noticed that my XDA II would just power on by itself every so often. It got to the point that the battery was being drained very fast for the PDA to be useful for a day. I also noticed that an entry is added in the notification database every so often. It has an application name of PlusReminder.exe.
I sent a technical query to Spb and they advised me to download the latest copy of Pocket Plus. I did. I now have version 2.0 build 1184 installed, and now, the notification database problem is gone. Also, even though the device still turns itself on once in a while, it's no longer as bad as before. It's back to being useful again as the battery can now last for a day.
Hope this helps.
I checked everything I had installed. Almost no 3rd party software other than Staralliance timetable, and pocket TV. No SBP or any other software mentioned on the threads to be causng any trouble. I then went over every single move I made over the past 3 days trying to remember what I had changed... Tadaaaa!!! I forgot I run spritesoftware's Sprite BackUP, which by the way I highly recommend! I had set the battery monitor to back up automatically when the battery reaches the 30% treshold. Indeed, the momet I UNchecked that option, it stopped!!!!

I'll leave it to others to give advice on which radio to use. It might be worth installing danielherrero's (one of our own developers) bandswitch application http://www.commmgrpro.com/ You could use this to limit phone to certain bands only with an easy interface. Would allow you to check out exactly what is causing the drain on battery.
Mike
thanks for helps
Sorry, got me stumped. So with no radios on the consumption is double that when wifi is on!!
Let's see if anyone else has any suggestions.
Mike
infinite loop perhaps??
What ROM/Radio versions are you running? EDIT:: seen the ROMs, perhaps try updating to a newer dopod ROM??
Also what 3rd party apps have you got installed??
(RESCO was a ***** for doing this to my TyTN)
the exact same thing happens to me. i've charged it completely, it obviously got really hot. usually at this point, i would take out the battery and let it cool off before turning the phone on, otherwise it would get even hotter and eat 300+ mA and drain the battery fast. this time i opened the wi-fi connection and immediately the battery status dropped from 332 mA to 130, and stayed down there. the phone even cooled down a bit. after i've turned off the wi-fi, it started draining and heating again. what can i do? is it a software or hardware problem? i'm using schaps 4.31, 1.47.30.10, have google maps, palringo, opera, tcpmp installed
I have the same behavior, too.
But not yesterday evening. After restarted it for the xxx time it staid at 28mA. This was so until I left the train in the morning. It went up to 347mA and I am not able to get it back to 28.
I am using the default HTC ROM "HTC_TyTN_GER_3.54.257.2_103_6275_1.47.00.10_108".
I also tried several other ROMS (Schaps, Pays ...) and different radio versions as "HERM_Radinly_1.16.00.00_CustomRUU", "HERM_Radinly_1.47.00.00_CustomRUU", "HERM_Radinly_1.47.00.10_CustomRUU", "HERM_Radinly_1.47.30.10_CustomRUU" and "HERM_Radinly_1.54.30.10_CustomRUU"
but none of them helped me out.
I also done the Exchange Server trick, deactivated 3G and even deactivated all GPRS or EDGE possibilities from provider side.

Phone gets hot
Hi,
I am not an expert but I had the same problem with my phone, I solved the problem by moving some software I had on my storage card to the internal memory, (in my case it was the encryption and additional language support software I had)
Another way is to look for the Power management tweak in this forum which helps to manage your storage cards power draining,
Sound strange but it worked for me.
Good luck
Hi,
the new battery has arrived.
There is no change in battery draining
What I recognized is, that if the battery is "cold" the power consumtion is around 28mA. But after a call it is getting warm and uses 10 time so much of power.
Please don't laugh now:
I put the battery inside my freezer for 5 minutes. Put it back inside the mobile ...
... 28mA.
If I keep it cold it stays fine for 3 days.
There must be any solution on that.

Leo stuck after charging the battery over night

Hi guys,
I'm having this problem, which has happend twice already and it's
really annoying.
I left my phone charging the battery overnight and when I came back the next
morning I could not activate the screen.
When pressing any of the buttons the backlight of the button line
turns on for a few seconds but the screen remains black.
The only solution is to do the "soft" reset BUT doing so results in the HARD RESET which means you are screwed without a backup.
Before charging, the battery was about 57% full, I can't think of any application that could be interferring with the charging process (but what do I know). The last time this happened was about 2 weeks ago.
I'm using the original 1.43.xx ROM.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I've experienced the same with mine. now running it "software/addons free" and it seems to run fine. one of my customizations probably caused this...
how do you perform a "soft" reset and it turns into a hard reset?

I press the red button at the back or remove the battery.

This phone lives from the customization, to abandon this option would
be a high price to pay.
Howevery, I only have few installed: 20 links at the home screen, 1% battery indicator.
The apps would be: flash light, power options, garmin mobile xt, sprite backup (luckily). Only the last two were installed when the problem occured for the first time. Also, these apps are not running in the background, so I can't imagin they somehow cause trouble after charging.

In this case you made a soft reset.
I experienced the issues after upgrading from 1.43 to 1.48. It turned out that I messed up some tweaks settingsinstalling and overinstalling some cabs which somehow (maybe to much beers) I tought that it will solve other issues.
Try tomake a hard reset and I would suggest to upgrade to 1.48 till a cooked one willbe available and stable.

I'm not saying that you have to abandon all of these, but you do have to start doing some "elimination" process if your device has started to freeze/crash. install one program and test the device for a few days. if everything is ok - then install another program and retest.
I know this sounds like a job of a beta tester, but it seems that there's no other choice.
By far I can confirm that I have encountered the freeze after installing a customized taskbar and the 20 links .cab. maybe this is the cause, I don't know yet. People are spreading .cab files with no further insurance that these are 100% bugfree. we're still running a Windows platform, don't forget it.
Experiencing exactly the same problem here... But going into an elimation process by myself would take months, given the number of (very usefull) patch I have installed her. Let's begin elimination process... Tell me the apps you have installed, I'll tell you mine. Since we are experiencing the same problem, My guess is that only the patches we have in common can cause this problem.
I DON'T HAVE garmin mobile nor sprite backup, so they are not responsible.
PATCHES & APPS I HAVE
- 20 links at the home screen
- 1% battery indicator +++ (My guess, given the direct relation to the charing process)
- LED notifications
- power options 12 icons
- VolumeKeys-0.3 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=598997)
- 3D Driver Patch 1.1
Many many more, but let's start by theses ones... since they all run in the background

TouchFLO 3D home screen freezes

Sometimes I just hate my phone. I have an AT&T HTC Pure. I haven't done any modifications to the ROM or anything, just installing a few apps. Today my phone turned itself off due to low battery, so I put it on the charger for a couple hours. When I needed it again I turned it on and the HTC TouchFLO 3D loaded, showing my background and the big ugly clock along with my appointments. I noticed after a few minutes the time was off by... a few minutes. The screen had completely frozen. I couldn't use the slider at all. There goes my People, Music, Calendar, Weather, and Programs tabs I use all the time. I soft reset and it comes back, looking normal. I go to use the slider and it freezes in mid-motion... never to move again. I press the Start button and my Start menu comes up. I close the Start menu and I can still see it, although it doesn't respond and the X is gone from the upper right-hand corner. I tap the Notifications bar and my notifications show up. I click close and it's still up, just not responding to taps (frozen is my guess). I've reset it a multitude of ways now all with the same result... even taking out the battery.
I don't get this. It was working fine just a short while ago. I've reset the thing before and not had this problem. I haven't installed any apps since the last time I had to turn it off due to low battery, and it came up fine from that. What could be causing this?
The real thing is this has happened before. It's like if it ever has to reload the TouchFLO interface it just bombs 1 out of 20 times. Hell I was playing around with Android for the thing, which resets the phone when you want to go back into Windows, and not had this problem the whole time I was testing it. If my phone shuts down, roll the dice and I might get lucky enough for it to come back without this problem.
I resolved it before by doing a hard reset. Lost all my stuff. That sucks for what seems no good reason at all. It's not like I was modifying system files or screwing with registry settings. It isn't even a custom ROM.
Any insight on what could be causing this, and how to get it back to normal?
I'm regretting not buying an Android phone every day anyway, but thanks to 2yr service agreements and lack of sufficient disposable income to dump AT&T I'm stuck with this thing for a while.
Thanks in advance for any help and understanding!
Your issue is that you are on the stock ROM.
That's why XDA exists, because stock ROMs are full of bloatware, eating up memory, and lacking any performance tweaks.
Cooked ROMs are not a cause of issues but a solution.
I hated my phone out of the box, but now it rocks...
With that, if you are going to stay stock, I suggest you get a backup program and hard reset.
At this point I'm very interested in custom ROMs, yet I know little about them. Looks like its time to get on it and read up what I can.

Start with the Hard SPL thread. A link is located in the 2nd sticky.
This is the precursor to flashing a custom ROM.
Once successful, you can cruise the ROM forum for the ROM of your liking.
It's things like this that make me so glad I found this site
You can try installing "CleanRAM" and running it after every initial boot to clear excess memory. You can also configure CleanRAM to schedule your memory cleaning. I recommend you to use "Level 2" cleaning though.

Unfortunately CleanRAM does absolutely nothing. When TouchFLO 3D re-loads it lasts almost literally 2 seconds before freezing at whatever I'm doing. I've even used the customized process cleaner to stop as many processes as I could (or just manila.exe) and it still will freeze when the interface comes up.
I've been able to get it to the standard Windows Default look and it works now, so that will enable me to back up what I'm going to. If I'm going to have to do a hard reset anyway, might as well put something better on there.
Maybe this might help
i experianced the same problem and the cause was i sync my entire e-mail acc. on the pure and it ran ok untill i restarted it and it boom hanged.
So i cleaned up the entire messaging folder under \Windows\
At restarted it and it was fine
So i suggest dont sync up entire e-mail in any form i.e headers only etc.
If this helps do P.M me
I installed a custom rom from dutty, and now it completely dies while in standby, have to remove the battery to boot it up again. Looks like I traded one critical problem for another.

Did you hard reset after flashing?
Also, which version of Dutty's did you install?

Massive Problems with battery

Hey guys,
at the moment I have a massive problem with my HTC HD2. Several month ago I flashed it with 6.5.3 and installed some little things, mostly for the design. Everything worked fine for 3 month, but now since this week, my HD2 is loosing battery extremly fast. If I charge it full, it is completly off after 20 hours WITHOUT using it. So I know the HD2 needs lots of battery, but if you don't use it very often, I could use it at least for several days and now, thats not possible anymore. I don't know why, I haven't changed anything. Also I think it got slower, so I checked for running applications with the task manager, but there is nothing????
So I'm kind of helpless right now, also I'm scared that I lost my gurantee with the update on 6.5.3.....
Do you guys have any ideas?
I'd try the easiest first and work your way down to the more complex things:
1) Re-calibrate the battery (sounds like you might have done this by completey running it down and then fully charging it.)
2) Remove the microsd card and see if you still get extreme battery drain to see if the problem is being caused by that.
3) Check that the wifi is idling when in standby and not staying connected.
4) Hard reset the phone.
Let me know if any of these shows a result.
I will do that, btw. I forgot one more problem. I have it often that I can't unlook the phone. so when its looked, the screen is black, normaly one push of any button is getting me back to the keylook screen where I can slide the button, but since I have the battery problem, I also have the problem that the screen stays black and only the hard buttons at the bottom are lighted, but the screen stays black. When I wait for some more time, than I can use it again, but for like 20 seconds its not usable.......it seems that something is using all the processor power.....DAMN this problem really freaks me out.
I know you said you checked for running apps with task manager, but if you meant the one that comes on the phone then I'd strongly recommend getting dotfred task manager (google finds it no problem). It's a much better task manager and gives you control over processes, rather than just listing them.
Edit:
Since it's so easy to google for it, I did it for you I'd only got as far as "dotfr" and google suggested it!
http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm
Ok I have installed it, if I check the cpu usage the process filesys.exe is using around 95%??? If I kill the process the phone freezes....also how can I identify process which are not working probably?
Ok, its definitiv the filesys.exe process which is killing my phone......everytime the phone is extremly slow, the filesys.exe process is using 95-100% of the cpu. I don't know why and when this process is running, sometimes it does, sometimes not.....how can I stop this process from killing my phone?
I already have removed the microsd card and the wifi is also not odeling.
