Qtek 9000: how to disable Autorotation ? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi all,
I'm programming an application running over a Creme JVM on Qtek 9000, but I have a problem: I'd like the screen not to autorotate, I'd like to have it always on landscape mode, but it always turns back to portrait mode if switched of or simply if rotated to "PDA mode" (with the touch screen hiding the hardware keyboard).
I searched for registry keys to modify, but couldn't find anything except hiding the icon on the task bar, but it's not my objective ...
Is there a way (by registry key, or by firmware upgrade) to set the screen in landscape mode and maintain it so indefinitely ?
Thank you in advance.

how can I quickly change from portrait to landscape and viceversa without going through the menu? Is there a way to make some sort of shortcut to the command?
Portrait/landscape shortcut?
Yep, I'm experiencing the same issue. It is strane because the S100 have this shortcut on the screen, why it is not on the S200?
Someone can help?
Of course you can. Just go to the hardware buttons settings, pick your favorite button and assign the rotate screen command to it
But what about the icon like the one from S100?? Can anyone post here the registry hack for that??
I don't believe there is a reg edit for this. The on screen icon with the S100 was a native feature for WM2003 that no longer exists with WM5.
Assign a hardware button to this task.

cleartype in landscape only partly accepted?

folks, with my very nice Herald I'm using either SK tools or manually editing the registry at
Local Machine/System/GDI/CleartypeSettings/SwitchOffonRotation or similar to have or NOT to have cleartype when rotate to landscape.
got following trouble:
1) when cleartype switched on in portrait AND landscape, everything is fine, but the rendering of Herald when landscape is that bad that I like cleartype in portrait only, but:
2) when cleartype switched on in portrait only, and I slide out the keyboard and going to write a message with landscape, it's very funny because the screen is partly cleartype on and off It seems to be the top part of screen without cleartype, but the buttom part with cleartype, which is not very fine
so the only usable option for me is to disable cleartype completely.
do you see the same with your herald?

PocketCM Landscape Txt Reply Mode

Hey all, just wondering if anyone out there would know how to edit the reply button in the standard wm6 sms notification to open pocketcm in landscape mode? This would be really helpful in that you would have a much larger, more convenient kb, and have it do it automatically everytime.
Thanks, Jim.
Tene, the developer of pocketCM keyboard said this was not possible to do automatically. The best method is to map a key on your device to do the rotate screen. Unfortunately you will likely still need to open (press the keyboard icon) the keyboard once it changes orientations.

Unable to install Pocket CM keypad

Hi All,
I am a newbie to I have a htc touch. I am trying to install Pocket CM keypad on my phone. I downloaded the .cab file from the website and i copied it to my phone using activesync. When i click on that cab file I just get a message Pocket CM installation unsuccessful.
Please let me how to install it. Also i want to install the contact on my phone
Also can someone suggest which is the best keypad software I can install. Also what is the software I have to install to switch the phone from potrait mode landscape mode and vice versa
Best input soft - EzInput
Screen rotation software - Windows Mobile Settings -> |System| -> Screen -> Landscape or tap screen rotation icon on HTC Home Launcher tab.
Thanks for that input. But that will permanently change the screen to landscape mode. I want it only on need basis. That is why I posted.
Besides In my phone i have two keypads. One is touch keypad and another touch keyboard.
The problem is most of the times when not reqd "touch keyboard" which is qwerty shows up.
When i want to type a message or a document then only "touch keypad" shows up.
This is highly irritating. Can somebody help me how to get around this. I want to use the qwerty keyboard for typing messages and working with doc.
I have been reading in the website that it is possible to have the qwerty keyboard working with messaging or while typing email
Can some body please tell me how to enable/disable the 20 key keypad and enable the touch keyboard when reqd.
Please please post a reply
I tried the work around of setting the registry key. but now i am having other problems when i press the green button the call keypad does not come. I also cannot press the button 1 to rotate the screen.
Now I have changed the registry key back now. Now I am back to square 1. The two key touch keypad appears for messaging or email. But i cant get the qwerty keypad.
Can some one point me to the fix for the same please. so that i can use the touch keyboard for messaging.
Many thanks in advance
Man, try EzInput. It looks better, works better and touch keypad doesn't switch to qwerty in some apps - you can choose which do you want! Touch keypad OR qwerty. I'm using it 'cause this switching freaked me a lot and now it's OK with EzInput
Can you please point me to the ezinput cab file and how to install it please. Many thanks in advance

IPAQ 910--regain screen orientation settings?

IPAQ 910C, stock ROM.
Normally a WM 6.1 Pro device has a setting to change the screen orientation, between portrait and landscape.
Quite unfortunately, HP seems to have blocked that capability in the IPAQ 910.
Especially unfortunate, because the 910's 240x320 screen is landscape, while the standard PPC screen is portrait. Therefore, I find that some of my older PPC apps won't work on it, as they expect the portrait orientation.
Without reflashing the ROM, is there something i could to to get back the screen orientation settings, so that I can change between landscape and portrait? A registry tweak?
