Hi, I have searched hi and low and can't find anyone having the same issue as me and im hoping someone can shed some light on it for me.
I have an XDA Orbit with which I am using an Orange UK sim. The Orbit has been updated to WM6 using V2 of the B&B ROM.
I have noticed recently that whenever an sms is being received the handset connects to GPRS. It also seems to happen quite randomly.
Any ideas?

hi all got my new xda 2 today it was a v1.03usa version with radio 1.05
i updated it to the new o2 rom 1.60 or what ever it is...
well at 1st i put my payg o2 sim in and the G would pop up then go meaning it had gprs signal......
now that the s/w has been upgraded (which completed fine without any problems) the G no longer pops up and when i try to connect to gprs it dials and dials but just doesnt connect
help whats going on i used the old settings my xda 1 used for gprs and that used to work fine with or without the G popping up
dont understand why it was working but now it isnt
anyone shed anylight onto this?

I'm switching from 02 to Orange now that my contract is up, but i'm planning on using my exisiting XDAII on Orange.
Is it possible to convert O2s interface to Orange version together with all the GPRS settings?
What Rom should i use?

I am trying to do much the same but the other way around at the moment and currently havign problems getting an M1000 to work with the o2 GPRS web settings, I don't seem to be able to access any pages. Does anyone have any ideas?
I was running with the rom on the orange website with my original M1000 and had problems with not sinking and receiving texts, had the M1000 replaced and had the same problem, so i upgraded MysteryMan ORANGE SE and all is fine now.
In fact it has not crashed once since the upgrade.
Hi all
I am using my XDA IIi on Vodafone but when i connect to GPRS the first time it works perfectly but if I reconnect to the GPRS service either hours or days later it says the i cant connect to "internet" which is the APN name for mobile web on vodafone.
The only way to rectify this is is to switch flight mode on and off again.
Has anyone else noticed this and if so have they found a solution?

Common problem I'm afraid. Happens with the O2 or i-mate ROM for me, and many others.
Can only hope they fix it soon.
Hmmmm thats not good news. Its also quite interesting as it didnt used to do that.
Is this a problem that drifts in and out or just one that develops and then you are stuck with. Ive had my IIi since march and its only started doing this in the last couple of weeks.
Hopefully a fix will come out eventually for it are any of the roms, imate etc any better?

Well I prefer the i-mate ROM images as they aren't network branded, but they are all pretty much the same past the customisations, Microsoft release the updates, HTC customise it, and the company that brands the particular device customises it.

Are the imate roms on the ftp somewhere? I couldnt find them. I have the new O2 rom that someone has added radio 1.3 to running at the moment but it did not fix the problem.

Hi all,
How do I remove the O2 software on the XDA Exec.
My XDA connects to t-mobile but then drops the signal and keeps searching.
After a reset , connection is reastablished to t-mobile.
I did have push email set tup but have binned it to see if that is causing the problem.
Anyone else having this problem
you have to go remove progams you might it there or get aku helmi's rom

I recently upgraded my T-Mobile MDA (Wizard) to a Cingular 8525 (Hermes), which I unlocked thanks to these wonderful forums--I thought my Hermes was bricked b/c it wouldn't find any networks using either my australian vodafone or telstra sims down here in Sydney. Well, it turns out that it just takes several minutes before the phone will find the networks using either sim, even though my wizard using the same sims will find the networks straight away.
Any idea why this might be happening?

I have this problem with the radio rom 1.48.00. I upgrade the radio rom to 150.00, and work excellent. problem fixed.
i still have the same prob my hermes keeps on searching for network...i am on radio 1.51..
