There is another webiste ppcgeeks dot com where the developer of the AKU posts all his roms and what not. So if you were actually looking for roms for other carriers other than bell south you should google AKU software or visit the aforementioned site.

Wireless Modem on Final T-mobile Update

Now that T-mobile has released their final ROM update (4.01.16) I was wondering if anyone has succeeded in making it work as a wireless modem. This is functionality that I'm sure many of us could take advantage of. If anyone has figured this mystery out, please list instructions below. Thanks in advance.
Best,
Matt
the only WM2003 ROM that has wmodem application is 4.00.33 GER ... for german of course

Say can someone tell me as to what is the lastest ROM version for the I-Mate XDAII and where I can download it?
My current specs are;

Hi Rudegar
Thanks for the reply I also have similar original versions of the O2 Australia Firmware and am wanting to upgrade.
I use the O2 Bluetooth head set which I would also like to keep using (I've noticed a few people having issues with some upgrade versions)
Please could someone send me a link where I can download the most stable/updated ROM for my Australian XDA II.
Sorry Rudegar for asking for links but I am so confused when trying to search for this, I never know what one to use and there are so many around.
I would also like to (IF POSSIBLE) get an upgrade ROM that is automated like O2 original ROM's, one EXE that extracts and does it all for you... no commands or lots of text to read though and try and work out how to do it all....
MANY THANKS!!!!!
Hope someone can help me out!

Is this also for the Australian Version of XDA II?
i've never heard of a special australian rom
Cool, thanks for the fast reply!
Ya I think Australia uses the Asian Rom?? but not 100% about that :-(
I though you needed your countrys rom so that you can select what telco's settings to use?
I am with Telstra as my phone provider. would you mind having a quick look and seeing if you can select Telstra if you have this rom already installed on your phone :-D
Many thanks for your efforts!

Where are the ROMs

Hi all,
On the internet I read that there is a ROM AKU 3.5. Is this ROM also for the TyTN?
If so, wherecan we download it now?
Thanks,
Temba
PS. Microsoft, shame on you. Release updates yourself, than we don't have to download pre-releases 'illegal'.
Bull****. Microsoft is working on a Windows Update for the Mobile system. It's supposed to be available with WM6. btw there's one integrated into WM5 too, it's called Download Agent.... or may be that's only on Orange branded devices..
Dunno where you've heard of an AKU 3.5, but you won't find it here since all the ROMs have to be taken down:

Well, actually, it has never worked on any WM5 device (dunno about Orange devices tho). Unlike in WM6, of course, where it IS supposed to work.

What is ExtRom, AKU, Addons?

Hello,
I am a newbie to swaping ROMs with phones. Excuse me for stupid questions
1) What is ExtROM? I guess it's some ROM space that stores the apps to be installed after the initial startup (stuff the carriers force to install on your phone)
2) What is AKU? From wiki, it seems to be a service pack kind of thing issued by MS. How do I know what version of AKU my WM5 already has? I am using the standard Cingular 8125 image. ROM:2.25.11.1 ExtROM: 2.25.11.102
3) From the XDA wiki, there is a link that contains a bunch of "add-ons".
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Roms/
How are "add-ons" different from AKU and stuff in ExtROM?
4) BTW, i can not access the ftp site in Windows Explorer due to permission problem. It doesn't even prompt me for login. I saw an AKU3.2 link there, how can i download it?
5) Where can I get a list of feature/components for each version of AKU?
Thanks
AKU is the rom version in your case 2.*
the roms can't be downloaded here, due the idiots of microsoft.
and it is not permitted that you search on bittorrent or ares and that kind of stuff.
HAVE A LOOK AROUND and you will find what you want
yess you are right about the extrom

Upgrading from O2 Orbit 2 German to WWE, which one?

Hi,
I just bought an O2 Orbit 2 on ebay from a german retailer (BTW price inclusing shipment 469 Euro). Of course the Windows Mobile is in German and TOMTOM 6 is with german maps.
Would like to change the operating system into WWE. So far I am a bit reluctant since terrible experience I had with my previous HTC Tytn changing the O.S., which was:
1) First the camera didn't work at all
2) Camera worked, mobile office didn't work
3) Mobile office worked, reception was less good then original O.S.
At the end I got an "original" WWE O.S. from HTC website for Tytn and I was half happy (everything worked except Camera which not always worked).
Based on this experience I'm willing to upgrade to a new ROM/O.S. for my O2 Orbit 2, only if it is perfectly working, in your opinion what is the best solution for me?
A) Keep my german ROM and wait availability from O2 for an official WWE ROM
B) Download official O2 WWE ROM from this site ____________
C) Go ahead and download _____________ ROM WWE from this site ____________
Thanks for the answer
I'm not an expert but with a little search:
Collection of all Rom:

Many people says that Bepe's and udK's Rom are marvelous......I think you'll have to try and decide yourself, like me in near future
Bepe and udK are in fact nicely done.
If it's just about the language, then use the default and official WWE HTC ROM which can be found on the xda-dev ftp server.
Just in case, because so many already ****** up their device up by not reading instructions and doing it wrong: whatever you do, do the HardSPL first.

Couldn't wait for the link to official WWE, so I downloaded and installed Bepe's instead.
It works great.
Sorry just got very frustrated in my previous rom upgrading experience with Tytn (and I did read ALL the instructions first, to no avail)
Wait for link? I said the xda-dev ftp server. I strongly believe a user should find the servers address itself. Links to the server are all over the place and theres even a wiki-entry. Or just go to google and type xda-developers ftp server. ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Polaris
