I have an Holux GPSlim236 and it rocks...
Holux GPSlim 263
PS: A good thing is that the Nokias BL-5C bateries fit like a charm if the original batterie runs dry

I noticed that there are serveral different types of BT-GPS, some of them have a 1Hz update rate while others have 5Hz update rate. What does this mean in terms of preformance? Should i spend the extra money on the 5Hz?? Will the software work or take advantage of the 5Hz ?? TIA

It's not out yet, should be out this month, but this one looks promising, small enough to fit on your keys, not too expensive and good battery life.

Using m700 GPS to log bike ride

All I want is to be able to run something on my Orange SPV m700 that will use the built-in GPS to log my position to file for looking at later on the PC.
I found gps2ge but can't get it to connect to the m700 GPS.
Can anyone give me any help?
Either with gps2ge,
or another way of doing what I want?
Thanks
maybe GPStuner will do?
Looks good - I'll try it
thx
GPS!
I use NoniGPSPlot, it's really perfect! It logs your positions and creates a map!
http://aeguerre.free.fr/Public/PocketPC/NoniGPSPlot/download.php look down the page, there's an english version.

GPS Tuner works oke.
You can save your trip and watch it in Google Earth!
I use memory map, it's an expensive program but you can get an OS full colour map with your track recorded on it.
Tomtom for car & motorbike.
Memorymap for mountain bike/walking.

Brando Car Handsfree Kit Experience

Hello, does any one has some experience with the Brando Car Handsfree Kit ?
Is the charger powerfull enough?
Does it mount good in the car?
Here is a link:
http://shop.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=02680&dept_id=039&cat_id=0763
i have one like this it was broken after few months from the sun and the headphone/radio exit stoped working
I've tried at least 4 units like this one, and they always suck.
The only brando handsfree kit that I could see working well is to have one sitting in the passenger seat.

Have you actaully tried this unit - or just ones LIKE it?
Reason I ask is I am after one for my Diamond and the Diamond Brando Handsfree kit which appears identical but for the cradle itslef has good reviews from people using it.
So while your post puts me off somewhat - it appears you have not actually used this one. Is that correct? In which case I will take what you say with a grain of Salt.
Can anyone else who is actually using this give some feedback please.

Scans on diamond

Hello, I wanted to know if there is software that performs a similar function a scanner radio, listen to different frequencies, for example 128.5 MHz ...

This is for the Diamond, as it already has the ability radio normal ...
Thank you, goodbye
I translate it on google.
like a police scanner this would be nice
Well, yes because in fact I like to hear the control tower at the airport or I will do photography, I am spotter ...
And instead of buying a receiver, I was wondering if there was a software on WM may have the same function
Thank see you!
Hi!
That is hardly possible. I don't know for 100%. But with my experiense of scanners, there is probably a question of hardware. Or more precise, question of crystals with different frequenses..
People tend to believe Touch Diamond can solv ALL tasks.
Despite that i think my TD is fantastic.
I would love to have a radio frequency scanner
Hi,
I am an airplane photographer too, and I would love to have on my Diamond something to listen to control tower of the airport.
I am sure it's not that hard...
Thanks in advance

VWCar Kit for HTC Kaiser

VW don't make them, but Bury do
So I took a Bury and modified it to fit my VW car kit, and it works perfectly!
The result:

Very stylish, and uses external antenna too.
Benefits:
- Looks good, especially with VW colour scheme
- Charges the phone
- Uses the external car antenna
- Info and Service buttons available & working
- Easy to fit and use
- Easy to use the built-in nav
Option things you could do (but I didn't)
- Connect headset audio to stereo Aux-In and use HTC Tytn II as MP3 player through car stereo
- Or fit an external speaker with built-in amp to get louder nav voice (I might do this)
Thanks 4 sharing some info please
Your adaptation looks great. Could you post a few details as to Bury model number (the US seems to carry blackberry styles only), where you found antenna lead and any tricks you encountered.
THanks
DrT
is there one for audi?

Anyone have the Carlaoer F-Z-701TA?

I've been looking into picking up an android headunit for my WRX and I cannot justify buying a $400+ Android auto headunit. It's just too expensive. I found the Carlaoer F-Z-701TA(https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32946430734.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.3ad33c003kBuQF&mp=1) on Aliexpress and have been really keen on getting it for it's cheap price point of $80, and it's ability to run apps. I know that since it's cheap, there may be some problems, but the reviews seem promising. I don't care for music too much as the OEM headunit is garbage anyways. What I really care for is the ability to run Torque to view information about my car while driving. It helps me to monitor my car while on the track or even on the streets to make sure everything is in good working condition. Other than that, the ability to run Spotify + Waze is another nice to have.
Yes, I could use my Cobb AccessPort (It's a datalogging/tuner tool) or use Torque on my Phone, but it's extra things that could go flying in the car on the track.
Has anyone had long term experience with the Carlaoer F-Z-701TA? Any thoughts? Should I avoid it and go for something else?
