hi sorry guys i searched the site and found a few steps on how to reset the call timers in details..but unfortunately it didnt work...im not sure with others but this procedure did not work on my htc universal...
please follow the steps and do let us know if you come up with expected results
For reseting outgoing call timer
Step 1) Make and outgoing call with your device(Doesnt matter who aslong as someone picks up the call)
Step 2)When the call is picked, emmidietly go to settings and change the Devices clock time back to as many hours as you call timers outgoing time is and save the setting.
Step 3)After saving just hang up the call and reset device.
For reseting incoming call timer
Step 1) Make or expect an incoming call at your device and pick up the call and immedietly go to the clock setting option and change the time as many hours as the incoming call timer shows and save the setting.
Step 2) Hang up the call and reset the device.

i visited some of the threads on how to reset the call timers but many of the users have achieved this on devices like xda, xda2i other than the universal...any idea why this is not made possible for universal...would appreciate your help.

Solutions is the same on all of HTC units:
You can find on our forum or Buzz's

not sure if this should really be in the public domain. iwas told it shouldn't :S

Here is the link to download Mtty.
The method of making a call and going back in time may not work in recent devices because MS or HTC has probably fixed it.

reset call duration

you have idea of like reset the call duration?
Good question, what have you tried?
i'm also so interested
Our program 'The Manipulator' can do this, but only to certain RSU versions, and you do need a serial cable.
Manipulator will word with xda2????
any news about this?
hello
The Manipulator works only with XDA 1 only. This program works for radio stack version 4.20 and below it. I tried ver 4.21 It didn't work Due to the high security protection of the new Radio stack upgrade. It's very sad because it very hard to find the old version.
I think that XDA developers don't want to uprade their program because XDA is old and cost of money to keep upgrade program.
Another important thing that i am concern is why they don't develop the radio stack image because the most problem is the radio stack which kill the pocket pc function too.
Now, I I hope thatthey will develope on the XDA 2 not only in Rom but also in radio stack too.
Anyhow, GREAT THANKS TO XDA DEVELOPERS.COM FOR THEIR GREAT WORKS. VERY APPRECIATED!!!
i'd also like to find out how to reset call duration.
would i be correct in saying that the call duration is stored in the ram?
therefore if we drain the external and internal batteries, ram would reset itself since it wouldn't have power to preserve the information.

I think maybe it's incorrect because I've drain all my battery to reset my call duration and it didn't work. Maybe we should try another way.
1) Start the call;
2) Change system time to desired time difference in the past;
2) End the call;

I'm not phased by this.. but, it's still weird.

My wizard won't boot up....

my wizard won't boot
My wizard isn't going past the WM6 splash screeen, it gets stuck on it. I've tried soft and hard reseting a number of times as well as removing and reinserting the battery but nothing helps...
I recently flashed it with Blackdiamond 2.0 and have been using it without a single problem for the last 2 weeks or so.
Last thing I did on it last night was to use the 'Advanced Settings' in the settings menu and checked the options to make the scroll bars thinner and the scroll buttons smaller, it asked for a soft reset but since I was using it at the moment I clicked no and continued using it eventually powering it off and went to bed.
Now when I turned it on this morning it just won't go beyond the blackdiamond splash screen (pic attached)
I can't flash the rom again since activesync can't establish a connection with it(doesn't recognize that its attached with the pc, probably because the ROM never loads). I really don't know what to do... any help would be greatly appreciated
thanx
Check XDA-Wiki (top of this page) for troubleshooting guide under Wizard section
I'm not sure what is wrong with it, but it started because...I was trying to turn the bluetooth on and it wouldn't let me, so I did a soft reset, and what happens is it will just go to the loading screen for windows and stay there forever! I don't understand what happened . I've tried to reset a couple more times but it won't work...and also the power button on top doesn't work anymore.
Can anyone help me?
problem solved thanks
I just can't understand why people find more comfort in asking a question than doing a simple search and find the answer by himself. It's less time consuming and you feel a bit proud that you solved your problem on your own.
I think we should make a sticky with things like this :
"My wizard won't boot !"
"Which is the best rom ?"
"Will WM6 work on my device ? and where to find it ?"
All questions above have been asked hundreds of times, perhaps more and are still asked by almost every new guy that just registered.
how did you resolve your problem? I don't see troubleshooting anywhere...unless I"m very blind or maybe dumb.

You got 2 choices :
- flash a new rom (put it into bootloader and connect it to the PC then flash)
- hard reset

P.S. I liked the MacGyver thing. I must admit i watched those series and i was really jealous on the guy...he knew too much
My Wizard was dead unlimited times.........,
it is easy to get life back, isn't it ?

Telephone - Fail function, no Call possible

Hey all!
I found your forum on the net and read a lot of the topics here. I searched by a few words, but didn´t found anything that describe my problem.
I searched by google too but without any results. It seems to be that no one had the same problem or I try wrong search strings. :-(
I would like to ask you about the problem, eventually someone from you have the same or a idea for me!
If my device is running normal it is possible that after a undefined time period the telephone function is missing.
I open the telephone and try to dial a number.
The device is dialing... but nothing happend. I can´t hear the noise in the device which is normal there at a phone call.
The reciption doesn´t arrive any call.
I end the call and try it one more time and now, nothing ist happend. I can use the green hardrware button or the key on screen, anyway nothing is working. The phone dind´t call a number.
I must restart the phone function or the device, after that I can call normal.
Sometime I get the error "Telephone fail function".
I did a hardreset and installed only a minimal application, but same problem.
Did any one from you have a idea???
My device is a O2 Neo (XDA). Windows mobile 5 and the newest Updates from the O2 site.
Thanks so much!

I would suggest using a newer radio ROM. See the wiki for those.
Hey l3v5y!
Thanks for the answer. I checked the list and saw, that I have only the second Update on the list (02.19.21) so it will be a good Idea for change.
Only one stupid question: Can I use the Versions from the Forum? Because the device is branded by O2 and it is in Standard Installation. Must I use special O2 version?
EDIT:
And one question too. I did a backup with Sprite backup, so I can re Image the device after a hardware reset. Did this work too after the installation of the new ROM? Did this have action on the system Image?
Thanks!!!!

Good morning!
I did the update yesterday and I didn´t lost anything.
Now I will wait for any further problems.
Thanks for your help!

Help phone answering itself!?

Hi all,
I hope someone can answer my question, i have a diamond from vodaphone, ROM 1.93.161.2 WWE, the problem is that when i get a call the phone seems to answer itself, i guess that it is because the touch screen is enabled to answer the phone and it is getting pressed by the outer cover/pouch either in my pocket or on removal.
So, is it possible to make the phone answer a call by the hard buttons only??
if so please tell me how, i have done a search and spent hours trying to find a way on the phone!!
i'm not to clued up on updating ROM's ect so hopefully there is an easier way or someone has a step by step explination.
Thanks,
Dan.
To avoid accidental pickups, look here....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=464286&highlight=slide+phone
It's what most of us use here on this forum...
i'm sure this is not your problem but just to make sure.
go to phone settings and click on the more tab. make sure you don't have "automatic pickup" enabled.

This is exactly what you need:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425650&highlight=answerkey+disabler
Install the cab and the touch screen is disabled when recieving a call. You can then only answer or reject the call with the hardware buttons.
cheers
Thankyou very much to all that helped!!
Cheers,

How Can I Reset The Call Counter

i make loads of calls in a week so the counter is looking ugly
is there anyway i can reset the counter
correct me if i am wrong but i think this is stored in the radio-rom. flash a new radio-rom and it should be reset.
i actually did
but someone mentioned i need a hacked rom
or use mtty
i dont knw i need the right way
mtty is the only way, but i don't understand why call timer an issue!
well if some one can give me a tutorial on using mtty i will be gratfull
well when you got like 30 hours recived in 10 days
and 30 min outgoing
it looks kidda ugly
i recive calls like hell
I know this isn't the best way doing it... But would hard-resetting the device, making the device seem like new, pull the trick? Will this also clean the info on the radio.rom?
no it wont
new winmobile devices dont have this trick
i tried hard reset
tried flashing a new radio
nothin
same
also at mtty how can i make it recognize my hd2
WOW... This seems weird... You basically did reset pretty much all there is to reset?... All you smart people, please answer my question: Where is the info about the Call Counter stored? If its not in the radio.rom (which you actually did reset) and it isn't in the OS... Where is it!???!??
Think of the call counters as your pda being sim unlocked.
Once you have SIM unlocked your pda/phone, no rom flashing / radio flashing / hard resetting will ever get rid of that sim unlock.
I think its a small chip (not ROM) that resides on the motherboard which contains the call counters and sim lock status. You would need to flash this chip, not the ROM (i.e. OS / radio flashes won't do anything).
well in the hermes they did it via mtty
dont knw how it can be done we really need some ones help
any help guys
I use a Rhodium and I need to reset the counter too. Any help using mtty in newer devices?
Yup me too so that I can reset each month so that I can know how much outgoing calls were made.
i had flash from orginal 1.66 to dutty 2.1 with radio. but the call counter does not reset.

hi, if that is what you want you can search the web for programms like callstat or similar. so you get great statistics on your calls, and dont need to manipulate counters that not meant to be manipulated.
