Disabling E-mail Notifications? - Sable

I've got a 6925, and i'm quite annoyed by the e-mail notifications always nagging me. I have 2 e-mail accounts setup (Gmail, and my POP3 work account). I want it to check for new messages as frequently as possible, but I only want it to display a notification if it DOWNLOADED a new message. Currently it displays that I have New messages all the time unless i physically go into my inbox and actually open the e-mail message all the way.
Why is this so annoying? Well a lot of the times I get messages that I just don't open based on the "header" of the message. Yet unless I actually go in and mark it as read, or open it up, when it goes to check for new messages on the server it still thinks it's a NEW message and thus prompts me with a display saying I have new messages. Is there anyway I can have those notifications fire ONLY when it's DOWNLOADED a new message and not keep pestering me saying I have 63 some e-mails that are new and I haven't opened?
Thanks

email notify message

I have my notifications set to notify me when mail arrives, with a message popup and the sound "youve got mail" downloaded from this forum.
when I press send receive, I get no message and no sound, any known reasons? perhaps it may only work on an automatic send and receive and not when the user presses send receive.
anybody? everybody? do you get notified? i have Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook Sync and a straight POP account, and none of them provide me with a notification.
Do you, dont you?
just poppin it back up the list, surprised I cant get a response either way, yeah, nay?
simon_darley: I think notifications only alert when you need notifying, ie when you receive an email "unbidden" so to speak.
Pressing send receive won't "notify" you because you're instructing the device to do this. That's the theory, but my experience with VJSMSSender's notifications lead me to believe it works like this.
It could be possible to reverse engineer a notification as you request, but it'd be crufty.

Repeating unread e-mails notification

Hello!
I have very annoying problem and didn't found any solution so far.
There are few e-mail accounts configured on my HD: Exchange and 4 POP3 accounts.
I am not reading all the e-mails as soon as they arrive so I all the time have ~10 unread messages. Usually I dismiss all notifications or even open an e-mail message and then mark it as "Unread" just not to forget about it.
So, the problem is that after I dismiss a notification or even mark a message as "Unread" manually I am keep getting notifications that there are some "New emails" arrived. I get these notifications every few minutes, so it is very very annoying.
Does anyone know the solution?
Best regards,
efrost

How do I stop getting notifications of new emails in the Messages on slider- HD2 US

I use T-Mobile in US with the HD2 and have two different POP emails setup. When I get a new email, it usually shows on both the Mail and Messages slider icons. This means I have to manage those emails twice. Shouldn't email just come up on Mail and text messages just come up on Messages? How can I stop this duplication? (Note: it doesn't do it all the time, but maybe 75% of the time)

[Q] Question about Gmail Notifications

So here's my problem - when I read an e-mail from gmail on my computer, I get a notification from gmail on the phone that I have a new email. I guess when the new mail number goes down, it sends a notification, even though I haven't actually gotten a new email. For instance, if I have 10 unread emails in gmail, and read one of them on a computer, my phone will emit one notification, when the unread count goes from 10 to 9. It's starting to drive me nuts, but I can't find how to fix it.
Anyone else experience this? How can I fix it so that my phone gmail only gives a notification when a new email actually arrives? Not every time the unread count changes?
No responses...? I'm assuming either I wasn't clear or no one else is experiencing this...or that this is the norm and I'm bat****. Either way, I'd appreciate someone with some info to tell me which of these is the reality, cuz if there IS something I can do about it, I would really like to know. Or, if there's nothing I can do about it, to just make myself get over it lol.
Again, briefly: When I read a gmail email on my computer, I get a notification on my phone showing that the unread messages have gone down by one. Is there a setting so that I only get notifications when a NEW EMAIL actually arrives?
I swear I've been playing all around with gmail and can't figure this out.
Im having a problem with it telling me I have 10 emails in the application on phone, but I have to sync a dozen times for it to show me a few of them.

Help: Email tab doesn't refresh on update?

If I'm on the email tab in Sense, and I click on Send/Receive from the menu, and new email messages arrive as a result of that, the little message counter increases to show that new unread messages have arrived, but the message preview doesn't automatically refresh to show those new messages, so that I can flip through them as usual. Instead I have to go to another tab, then return to the email tab, in order to get those new messages to appear in the preview. Is that normal?
Is there no way to get the tab to refresh instantly so that the newly arrived messages show up in the preview right away, without having to leave and come back?
Sadly I have no idea
but if you post your rom (win Mo or Android) then someone may be able to help
Same behaviour in the latest Dutty's ROM. I just select a different email account and switch back.
Not the way I would like it. Oh well ...
