Herald losing SMS settings - Wing, P4350 General

Hi there
I have a strange issue with my HTC Herald.
Whenever i soft-reset, the "Text Messages service center" setting is lost (Under Phone -> Services -> Voice Mail and Text Messages .
I've had this problem since i bought my Pda, and was wondering if anyone else encountered this annoyance.
If anyone knows where this setting is stored (registry or file), maybe i can find a way to make a startup script to auto-apply it on reset or something...
Btw, in case this is related to the problem, i'll post the Device Information
ROM Version: 1.8.415.2 WWE
ROM Date : 11/03/06
Radio Version: 02.71.90
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.31

Thanks!

Does anyone have the following problem?
1. The MMS client will not terminate the CSD/Dial-up data connection automatically after an MMS is sent or received. I have to press "end" for 2 second to stop it. refer to the solution from the myxda.com, I had update the ROM already, but this still happen? any solution?
2. When I received a MMS, the program must playing video first. then I need to tap object and see the picture and txt. Can any solution can look at the image and txt directly without watching video, because most of my MMS do not have any video with it.

Omega 1-Pass Record Button Problem

Hi
I have a Qtek S100 (Magician) and I'm using the OmegaOne 1-Pass v1.1.1 program, a cool program to lock down the device.
My problem is that after installing it I lost the record key functionality, when I press to record nothing happends.
The only way I found to resolve this is every time eI reboot the device I have to goto the Buttons settings applet, open and close it.
After this all works ok. Hummm.... strange....
It seams something goes wrong at startup.
Can anywone help me to resolve this annoying issue?
Thanks
ROM version : 1.11.00 WWE
RADIO version : 1.11.00
Protocol Version : 1337.42
extRom Version : 1.11.129 WWE
Omega-One Batterypack Pro gives me same problem on my iMate (xda2) running wm 5.0 and so I have uninstalled untill there is a workaround.

Hmm... I am using 1-Pass on my XDA Mini (running Qtek S100 1.11 big storage ROM) and didn't face the problem you mentioned.
The only problem is the occasional hanging on the password entry screen especially if an SMS comes at the point when i press the ON button -- this results in the screen being incompletely painted and hangs.
I've written to the developer who has acknowledged this as a known bug. Had this when i was using 1-Pass on my old XDA 1 too.

Patrick

Problem related to Messageing in O2 XDA neo

Hello every body,
I'm a newbie. Yesterday night I bought the O2 xda neo. but it has a problem.
the problem is whenever I open the message program and then try to go to from inbox to outbox , that is try to change the menu, the program freezes. i can get out of the program, but if after that i try to open new program from the start menu, the pda hang. then i have to restart it manully or it restarts it self. every time i go through this process. its giivng me the same output hang and restart every time. can any body tell me what maight be the prb? is it a configuratio probllem of messaging. please help me outtttttttt.
i had another qus..ohw can i install a new theme for my pda.
O2 XDA Neo
so many people read the prb but no answer..sad today i have a new prb addition to that prb. when a new text message arrive when i try to view the message apart from the notiofication the message program hanged again. then i had to reset again...please reply me...if this prb consist i have to change the pda, which may not be possible...
my pda configuration is:
ipl:2.15.0001
spl:2.15.0001
GSM:2 19 21
OS: 2.15.13.27
ROM version: 2.15.13.27 WWE
Radio verion: 02.19.21
Protocol version: 4.1.13.09
ExtRom: 2.15.13.121
I've had a similar problem in the past but with a different WM device.
The problem (at least in my case) was caused by the SIM card, which was a Version 1.0 SIM card.
In new devices like ours, the newer the SIM card the better, and by newer I mean the latest version possible. In Mexico, cell carriers have been upgrading SIM cards to version 3.5, and since I upgraded my SIM, all SMS problems have gone for good!
You should check your SIM version, the latest versions have version numbers printed in the SIM card. Old ones don't.
I hope this helps.

Problem on sms messaging

I can see what sms message I received, but after I click on the sms message to view it's content, it just showed a blank white screen. Just to reply and create a new text message. It also appear a blank screen.
Any idea hoe to solve the problem ?
what ROM are you using? give us details on your prophet...
This is most likely related to the CE-Star Chinese product. When it installs, it places a wince.nls file in the \Temp directory of the device, along with a registry setting under HKLM\Software\Mobem\CE-Star -- MyNLS="\Temp\wince.nls"
After some experiments, it seems that even if you want to move or rename this file, regardless of whether you update the registry setting, it is not possible to do so without affecting the messaging application. I would suspect that somewhere in some of the CE-Star logic is a hard-coded reference to that location.
Solution: If you have CE-Star installed, and are loading the NLS file via the DynaNls.lnk file in \Windows\StartUp, then ensure the registry setting (documented above) is set to "\Temp\wince.nls", and ensure that the wince.nls file installed by the CE-Star application resides in the \Temp directory.
Note: I use the trial version of this product (limited to 50 characters input). I'm not sure whether modifying these settings for the registered version will remove this hard-coded limitation. Personally, I like to only have temporary files in my \Temp folder.

[REG] Enable SMS sent notification

Hi Friends,
Just found a Registry hack to enable SMS sent notification with HTC Messaging
Reg Path : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Jataayu\Messaging
DWORD : DisableSMSSuccess
DWORD value : 0 --> to enable SMS sent notification
DWORD value : 1 --> to disable SMS sent notification
I have exported this entry using Resco Explorer and attached here.
This hack is working for me on T-Mobile USA HD2 with original ROM .. below are details.
OS Version : 5.2.21892 (21892.5.0.89)
Manila Version : 2.5.20121412.2
ROM Version : 2.13.531.1 (90963) WWE
Please let me know if it works for you too .. also please mention your version information too
Regards,
kekerode
It doesn't work with my ROM
1. OS Version 5.2.21899 (21889.5.0.87)
2. ROM Version 2.10.531.1 (82076) WWE
3. Manila version 2.5.20121412.1
Please advice...
From the HD2 LEO tips and tricks page at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638:
103. Enable Sent SMS Status Notifications
By default, you have no confirmation if an SMS has been sent or not. Now you can enable a pop up message to tell you if an SMS has been successfully sent and even if it has failed. Go to All Settings, Sounds & Notifications, Notifications tab, tap on Event and choose Message: Send failed and check Display message on screen. Next choose Message: Send succeeded and check Display message on screen. Finally you must also make the following reg tweak: HKLM\Software\Jataayu\Messaging\DisableSMSSucess change from 1 to 0.
Works great on my phone. Pop-up message is sort of wrong. You get the notification sound and icon in the taskbar. If you click it, then you get the pop-up message.
On My Device, it doesn't have Send succeeded. Only MMS Send succeeded
My Device doesn't have "Send succeeded" , only "MMS Send succeeded". Can we have sms system like on this attachment?
Because on default system, we cannot add folder on sms. Only email. Please advice. Thanx.

I have another solution
it seems that if you have a cooked ROM or something like that then you have nothing inside the Jayatu folder in the reg, i have found that if you go into HKEY_CURRENT_USER/MICROSOFT/INBOX/SETTINGS/SMSNOSENTMSG change from 0 to 1 you can get that msg, now you will get a msg saying sms/mms sent, you will also find in there 2 other items, disable smsdeliveryreceipt and smsdeliverynotify, those deal with receiving a message of confirmation when the sms is received on the other end, but i found this rather annoying (I would use it but I really dont know if i will be charged for these notifications) well I hope this helps.
