Nortel Contivity VPN for WM5 - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

Hi all,
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of contivity VPN for WM5. They dont appear to have a trial and I know thats the app we usefor remote login at my office.
Cant find it anywhere, Nortel let you download trials for all other versions except windows mobile which is proving to be a bit of a pain.
Any help would be great.

Hi Ade. There are quite a few alternatives you could use, but if that is what they are using at work, why not get the mobile version through them?

Not sure that work would agree with me using it but wanted to test its feasibilty so i can go to them once its configured and working.
we are using contivity for windows so it must be possible through the WM client. What alternatives would you suggest??

Try Logmein.com It is much better than the nortel connectivity client. Also more secure. (Kind of)

Wizard and SyncML

Does anyone know about the SyncML capabilities of the Wizard? I need to sync it using linux and multisync/kitchensync.
And hopefully, with its WLAN module, it wil finally be possible so sync a businessphone using linux without hours and hours of try and error.
If the manual is right, the Wizard supports only ActiveSync and has no SyncML implementation. Can anyone confirm this? Anyone who successfully syncronized his evolution/kontact application with ActiveSync of the wizard?
Hi there,
There's no SyncML functionality in activesync, It's Microsoft, they don't like openstandards.
You can use the synthesis syncml client (http://www.synthesis.ch/ )
and try it 30 days.
We use it to sync with Novell GroupWise, works very well!
Greetings,
Wouter
Thanks eendje. I searched for more applications like this and found http://www.sync4j.org/. Sounds like a GPL Version which works with Windows Mobile, too. Experiences are appreciated, but I think I will try it out and post mine. If it does not work, it will be an expensive tryout. :?

Hello Afroman.
Did you have any luck using sync4j. I have tried to use it but only get error (on my BA). I have used synthesis syncML (Pro editioN) and it works very well with mobical.net. Check it out.

Darren
I want to do the same thing but as far as I know there is nothing compatible with WM5 yet.

VPN-Client????

Hey Guys,
is there a free VPN-Client for our Diamond, that works together with an Open VPN Server? Or is there another way to get a VPN Connection?
Chears Marco
Or a free client that works with Cisco vpn service?
If there is no free clients what are the other choices?
I use OpenVPN Client for PPC, works fine !

Sebastien
I use built-in connection?
i've tried to connect to my server but wasn't successful.. have to play with it for some time to make it work
the diamond has a built-in vpn-software?
Maybe SecureW2 ?
I wish there was Hamachi for PPC, so I could RDP to my work PC.

Which clients works for Cisco VPN? Anyone of those free?
I tried to run OpenVPN on my touch pro, but it just appeared to open but didn't display itself. I did a soft reset and it still wouldn't work. Any ideas?
Try to disable the TF3D plugin, there is an icon on Today Screen

BlackBerry Connect and HD2

This thread is to enable firstcomers to comment on whether they managed to install BBC and make it work. This is a major requirement for me to move into HD2. I look forward to receiving news from you all.
if it works in winmo 6.5 why shouldnt it work with HD2?
For whatever reason it didn't work on HD.
I really doubt about BIS working on HD2, as i tried a lot but not successful in gettting it to work in my HD.
However, BES may work.
It worked flawlessly on my ex-HD (installed on shipped ROM and tested on most of the cooked ROMs including Leo build ROMs) the trick was be changing the AKU of the build then installing the latest 4.0.0.106
Changing the AKU can be done by installing the attached cab.

I was trying with cooked ROMs only and didn't get it working before.
Lemme try your cab.
But, can you pls tell me which one you have got working? BES or BIS?or both?

If you want to know the expansion for the terms,
BBC- Black Berry Connect
BES-Blackberry Exchange server - for business/corporate concerns.
BIS- Blackberry Internet Service- for by Business Individuals.
Check Blackberry site if you want in depth details.
HD2 -> BB connect
Cab installed, 4.0.0.106 too but pin is pending.
I want to test it for ya'll. If you got a bb account for me....

Thx, but its company server, all I get is activation code, so I can not help with the account. Someone else??
Would love to have it. :]
Edit: Possibly something like SetModelID could help, but for Leo... -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4150074&postcount=35
Anyone succeeded?
I had the same issue, activation pending for ages if activated over the air.
Try instead to install the BB Desktop tool for windows and activate it this way. No password needed (if your PC is connected to your mail server) and it works in a glimpse...

No luck, the BB Desktop for Windows 4.0.0.17 does not connect to HD2 when ActiveSync works...
(tested on Win XP)
BB connect on HD2
Is there anybody experiencing BB connect to work on HD2 Leo? If so which BBC version is working? I have no issue with my HD so far, but I want to be sure it works on HD2 before changing it....I need it for business... Thank you all for your help

Hi,
Do you use BES?
Do you use the BB Connect Desktop tool for registering?
Have you changed the AKU version in the registry and restarted before installing?
If so and no success, it would be a shame. I also need it for work and planned to get the HD2 soon...

I am using BES.
Did not use the Desktop tool to connect.
Upon installing the software on the HD2, click 'Register', it initiates a data connection, gets an IP address, then disconnects. Longest i have had it working for is 1 min.
Will try the desktop tool but not putting any to it.
Have tried changing the AKU and other settings but
Any ideas ?
Whilst I prefer Exchange Activesync I'll give it a go again our BES when I get into the office later. will let you know
