Clear Type and rotation - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

I haven't seen anything on Rotation? Can you rotate like the rest of the devices out there?
Also, the TyTn doesn't do cleartype in landscape. Will the Athena do cleartype portrait and landscape? FYI, it's in Settings->Screen->Clear Type.
It makes the text easier to read and less "blocky"
Thanks in Advance!

I don't see any difference on rotation. Seems to work in all orientations ...(ie if my eyes can be trusted this time )

Yes there is no problem with cleartype in both Landscape and Portrait orientation.

cleartype in landscape only partly accepted?

folks, with my very nice Herald I'm using either SK tools or manually editing the registry at
Local Machine/System/GDI/CleartypeSettings/SwitchOffonRotation or similar to have or NOT to have cleartype when rotate to landscape.
got following trouble:
1) when cleartype switched on in portrait AND landscape, everything is fine, but the rendering of Herald when landscape is that bad that I like cleartype in portrait only, but:
2) when cleartype switched on in portrait only, and I slide out the keyboard and going to write a message with landscape, it's very funny because the screen is partly cleartype on and off It seems to be the top part of screen without cleartype, but the buttom part with cleartype, which is not very fine
so the only usable option for me is to disable cleartype completely.
do you see the same with your herald?

Best virtuall keyboard.

I played with the phone for 5 minutes yesterday in a shop, and i noticed that applications like Word and One note did not switch to horizontall view... also the keyboard on the HD did not go to Horizontall view. With my big and lumpy fingers i need the keyboard to be just a little bigger, so it would be great if i could work with a big one in horizontall position while my word/one note doccument also shifts to horizontall view...
What is the best virtuall keyboard for this phone that allways works in Horizontall position...
If i use such a keyboard on my touch screen will all my applications like Word also switch to Horizontall position...
You can use Gsen program to make the screen and keyboard rotate automatically.
Search this forum for Gsen program.

It has been reported that Gyrator 2 works very well for this.

keyboard

is there a keyboard out there that when you turn the device sideways to horizental view, the keyboard also goes to bigger view?
most keyboards that i have seen, when turned to landscape orientation, are pretty much the same size, but just horizontal. i dont think there are any that make the buttons a little bigger. that would be great tho. i think its because it would take up too much of the screen tho.

Hi,
well you can try PocketCM Keyboard 0.14 + my skins pack here
keys are bigger in landscape than in portrait, and you also have the choice of 2 sizes.
Finkerkeyboard2 is a great too : you just have to search for a skin that is bigger in landscape but I dunno if someone has already made it ??
There's a lot of great keyboards with nice skins on WinMo so the best for you is to try them and to make your own idea

IPAQ 910--regain screen orientation settings?

IPAQ 910C, stock ROM.
Normally a WM 6.1 Pro device has a setting to change the screen orientation, between portrait and landscape.
Quite unfortunately, HP seems to have blocked that capability in the IPAQ 910.
Especially unfortunate, because the 910's 240x320 screen is landscape, while the standard PPC screen is portrait. Therefore, I find that some of my older PPC apps won't work on it, as they expect the portrait orientation.
Without reflashing the ROM, is there something i could to to get back the screen orientation settings, so that I can change between landscape and portrait? A registry tweak?

HTC Landscape Keyboard

Hi All,
Can anyone please advice or provide the HTC landscpae keyboard, which has FULL-QWERTY layout.
Once you change the orientation of Jade from potrait to landscape using some app, the Full-QWERTY keyboard of HTC doesn't show up properly as I believe that it has been configured to work in potrait mode only.
But, other HTC devices are having landscape support (unlike Jade) and they have HTC's Full-Qwerty keyboard which works for both potrait as well as landscape mode.
Has anyone extracted it and can provide me the cab (or atleast the pointer to it)?
PS: I know there are other keyboard applications, but somehow I find HTC's keyboard is the best and comfortable.
Thanks in advance!!
